Don't go here if you are in a hurry. We arrived at 6:20 PM, were seated by 6:30, ordered soon after. At 7:30, when our meal still hadn't arrived, we asked the waitress where our food was. She sent over an assistant manager who came to the table more than five minutes afterward with some lame excuse that the kitchen was backed up...while the guests around us, who arrived afterward, were well into eating their meals. Our dinner arrived ten minutes later as did the full bill with no accommodation. Overall, the food was okay (burger, turkey, chicken salad and steak) , the sides tasty but very small. The beer was the best feature beyond the great location. Management needs to get their act together!! We love the one on Division so had a high hope going there for the first time. Probably never again. I ordered a Mediterranean salad. The waitress asked if she could toss it with the dressing or I wanted it on the side. I requested it to be tossed but got it on the side. Not only that, the dressing was supposed to be balsamic vinaigrette but it was pure vinegar and made my tongue a bit numb. My husband was disappointed with his sandwich. What amazed me was that they ran out of salsa. There is Gene's across the street in the square to get some ingredients to make it. A guy asked what he could get if indeed thy were out of it. We said sweet potato fries. The fries came out before getting informed of salsa not being available. We drank all water but never had refill or not want asked about it. The waitress didn't ask if we wanted to have the second drinks either. I am not sure if or how long it can last with the high rent that they must pay for the location. Disappointed. read more

Came here with my sister for lunch, our experience was very pleasant. The menu has so many I ordered the Clint E with mashed potatoes and my sister ordered the Rachel C with greens. Unfortunately this location is far below the standards of the other locations. I tried this location a few weeks after they opened and it was obvious the management was not handling things well. I chalked it up to working out the kinks, but it was hard to overlook waiting 45 minutes for a salad that was not quite my order. I visited a month ago, and though the restaurant was empty, it took 45 minutes for my salad. I was charged $21 since I added shrimp and my order was wrong. I decided this restaurant must not be for me. Obviously something isn't right with this location. I also find it very weird that there is no music happening (in an epicenter of musicians), especially when the old Wicker Park location always had live music. It's sad to see a corner spot in Lincoln Square empty most evenings, and that emptiness is reflected in the service and food. read more

This is a time and a place kind of joint. If you have time and you are at this place, then go ahead, if you so wish. It's a good option for people who want a sandwich or salad as that is all that is on the menu. The menu is actually overwhelming with the different sandwich listings - actually to the point of annoying. The food was fine but not noteworthy. What a wonderful place to have in the neighborhood! I've eaten and drank at both the Lincoln Square and andersonville locations, and have been satisfied every time. The menu is sandwiches and beer. 2 of the best things in the world. Andersonville has 50 craft beers on tap, Lincoln Square has 30. There is a beer for everyone! The extensive menu includes tons of sandwiches, and several appetizers and sides as well. Slightly pricy, each sandwich is well worth the money. The service has always been fine. I manage the Verizon store across the street from the Lincoln Square location, so I am a frequent visitor. The manager, Jaime, is a great guy as well. Strongly recommended! read more

Great food, imaginative menu. Our waiter was quick and attentive. Downside? The table of off duty employees talking so loudlt that several other tables were unable to hold their own conversations. We were really excited about trying this place because it had looked adorable. I'm also not the most picky eater, I like almost everything, but the food is so, sooooo bad. Specifically, I had the Korean bbq sandwich with a flat piece of sad chicken and the absolute worst sauce. I usually try to find a redeeming quality about a meal, but the Mac and cheese side was cold, and the fries were bland and clearly from a bag. I guess the reason I felt motivated to post this was because I honestly can't understand what I spent $13 on for a crap sandwich and food that was most likely frozen and then microwaved? They have one of the most extensive menus and the food is pretty good! The service is not so good. Very slow and odd way to take orders. We waited over 15 min for any waiter initially come. He took half of the drink orders and walked away? When the food came out, half of us were served and the other half had to wait 8-10 min for the rest to come out. I know this location just opened, but considering that they've had many other locations over the years, I expected much better service. We went in for lunch around 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday and had to wait for 25 minutes. There was an entire section open, though presumably they didn't have enough staff to open it. After being seated, we were immediately ready to order, but our server instead told us she'd return in a few minutes. Our server couldn't hear/understand our orders (it wasn't *that* loud), and we had to repeat ourselves several times. Our drink orders didn't come until more than halfway through the meal. And she forgot to put a pen in with our receipt. All that being said--my complaints were pretty much only with the service. The food, as at other Jerry's locations, was delicious. It's a bit on the pricey side, but there is enough food for two meals. Hope they can figure out their service issues. read more

From a vegetarian's perspective, Jerry's is great. Their homemade veggie burger remains one of the best in the city. All of the sides are great (I appreciate that they are all vegetarian), and the beer list is always interesting as well. I've read a lot of other reviews bashing the service. I've been to this Jerry's three times now. The first time our food took about an hour to come out, but that was also right when they opened. The past two times we had no problems at all with our service, even though they were busy. The meat-eaters I have dined with haven't seemed to enjoy their food quite as much as me, but they do agree that the food is solid. The price per sandwich is maybe a little high, but that price includes two healthy side dish portions. Overall, Jerry's is a welcome addition to Lincoln Square. read more

I was really excited when I found this place. Perusing the menu online before I went it seemed like I'd like I'd love everything! That may just be because the menu is gigantic. I really really REALLY wanted to like this place, but everything was just OK. Our server was fine. Plenty nice, nothing special. In fact, I'd describe the food in the same way: fine. My lemonade was watered down, my food was bland. For what we paid for our family of three I'd expect the flavor to be remarkable. If the food tasted as good as the menu looked, I'd be in love. Good ideas, poorly executed. I think they could certainly be on the right track here if they amped up the flavor, simplified the v menu and had people working there that are less apathetic. read more

Ordered a fried chicken sandwich ($12)for lunch. Included 2 sides. Picture the thinnest piece of fried chicken, similar to a Salisbury steak. The McChicken and Chickfila have more meat on them. Sides were ok, but Potbelly probably more bang for your buck in the square. Brought up the inadequate thickness of the breast to the waiter and did get 20% off the bill. Wow, i'm amazed by the more negative reviews. This is our go-to place for lunch or brunch with the kids when we're in the area. They have a great open seating plan, which is nice for families. We get that not everyone wants to sit near our kids. They also have a great menu with a lot of variety. There's lots of good choices for adults, and the kids meals are perfectly sized and well thought out. Whoever decided to include mac & cheese with every kid's meal is a genius! Plus, they have a good beer menu. Pricing was standard for the area. You'll pay more, for less food, at the cafe across the square. Service has always been good when we've been there (always with kids). Certainly worth a visit, especially if you're with a family! read more

My family and I have been looking forward to Jerry's opening in Lincoln Square, and it did not disappoint! We went on a Friday evening around 5:30 pm. The service was terrific and the food was very good. For our appetizers, we had the warm crab dip w/ fried pita. It was amazing! The pita chips were just the right amount of crispy. We also had the fried Korean chicken poppers, which were OK. Too strong of flavor for me, but some might like it. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Cobb salad. She asked for no blue cheese, so the server reccomended a white cheddar instead, and she loved it! I had the Towns V w/ root beer ham and it was terrfic as well. And last but not least, they had a solid craft beer selection! Fantastic location, great atmosphere, wonderful staff. We're looking forward to coming back! read more

I have dined in and order to go. To go containers keep sandwich and sides separate, so they travel well. Huge menu has plenty of options for everyone. They offer a kids menus. Sometimes our little ones order from that, other times, it's the Asian pasta side as an entree. I like that sandwiches come with two (very small) sides. Wide range of bread options. Choices galore for vegetarians. Very creative combos. Service has been fine. Very family friendly spot. read more

The bartender with long hair not wearing a mask while behind the bar has some of the worst customer service skills I have ever seen. the service was so bad the couple that was sat right after me left after 30 min of not getting an order in. The only thing they were able to order was a lemonade for $5. The service was so bad I started timing on my phone how long it would take to get to the next table from time they sat down to greeting... 17 min. I sat for a good 15-20 min before I got anything ordered. the food here is good but service is everything and sadly it is not worth sitting for ever to wait to place an order or be greeted. its sad to watch horrible service happen around you and to you. I really hope you address this since this is my second time sitting in this dudes section and it took forever the first time too... smh. read more

The menu was extensive though and had some tasty options. Food was good, most of us enjoyed what we ordered. I wish I could write a review, but I barely even made it in the door. The two of us arrived around 11:30am hoping to sit on the patio and have a beer or two to enjoy the beautiful weather. The inside was completely empty and the patio was maybe half full. When we asked for a table, the hostess rudely said we could not sit outside unless we order food because she thought it might get busy for lunch. As mentioned before, there was plenty of space and nobody waiting. We were turned down on the possibility someone else might show up and spend more money (which isn't a guarantee since we likely would have had a few beers each). read more

I used to LOVE ordering out from this place but my last several orders have all been messed up in minor ways. The final straw was recently when I ordered their shrimp po boy via grubhub, which is normally delicious. When it arrived, the sandwich ended up being half shrimp and half beef, as if halfway through making the sandwich they started to make an entirely different kind. Very strange and disappointing. I really want to like this place. It's location is just about perfect in Lincoln Square, but the food is frankly not that good. The menu has so many interesting options, but everything I've tried is just ok, and not something I'd order again. I went with my family over the weekend. My daughters mac and cheese looked like it was not fresh. The pasta was a little too soft, and the cheese a little not smooth and creamy. Her fruit salad side looked like it was a little old. I couple of sad pieces of pineapple, squishy red grapes, and over-ripe strawberries. My husband's burger was just ok. The waiter didn't ask him how he wanted it prepared, and it was a little overdone to his liking. I got the Sandra O fried chicken sandwich. It was not good. At all. It was just really unbalanced...the proportions of everything were off. The sauce was way too strong (or there was too much of it). The cheese slices didn't seem to fit. I deconstructed it, and it was ok. Service was adequate. Not overly friendly, but not rude. The beer list is good. I hope they take the food up a notch. read more
