It seems like a lot has changed since I've been home. Last time i was in town this place was still my favorite local Mexican food spot. For breakfast I wasn't super impressed. The food was good but nothing out of this world. I ordered corned beef hash which came with eggs, hash browns, and toast. The hash browns were bland and dry, kind of made me wish I had gone with the country potatoes instead. The corned beef hash was made from scratch which I give them props for it wasn't some canned version it was actual corned beef hash, however unlike the hash browns the corned beef hash was over seasoned. It had an unusual flavor to it and it threw me off completely. My mom had country fried steak and she didn't even finish half of it which means it probably wasn't that good either. All in all it was decent but I think I will stick to Hamdogs or Woodetts next time i come home for a visit. read more

Service I was meet with a prejudice I walked in was waiting in line for a while, the wait person who was Hispanic waited on a customer I found a menu and read it I was ready to order. A Hispanic couple walked in the waitress walked around me offered them a table inside. I asked if I could order as I would like to eat outside she said I will get your order at the table out there just pick a table. The couple that came behind me then stated that they would like too eat out there also. She escorted them to a table gave them menus left then came back with their drinks. Went to a different table and had a personal conversation in Spanish for a while started to go back inside. I asked can I order please she said I don't take orders some one else will wait on you. First time at this new restaurant. Our usual favorite, The Cowboy Cafe, is closed in Monday's so we thought we would try this new restaurant located in a former Mexican restaurant. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it is really charming once inside. The servers were really friendly, especially Ken, and the cook quite skilled. I could hardly wait to start in on the original French toast because the aroma was heavenly, with just a touch of cinnamon. My husband had the bacon and eggs with sour dough toast and hashed Browns. The food was excellent and the coffee hot. We will definitely be back. read more

I had breakfast there this morning and it was absolutely disgusting!! Sat myself and the waitress asked if I needed a menu, instead of bringing one with her. Ordered a simple bacon and eggs (cheese on) and a side of bacon (soft) with wheat toast. The eggs were like chewing on a piece of plastic, hashbrowns looked like they were from the day before. Got the side order of bacon half way through my meal and the toast 3/4 through my breakfast. No excuses, there were only 7 people in the entire building and patio. This place is open for dinner now! I think my boyfriend and I were the first ones to eat there for dinner. Haha, totally claiming it. ;) The fried mushrooms were insane. I've never had anything like them. They are crispy on the outside and HUGE. You get a ton also. We only could eat about half of them but there were only 2 of us. This would be a good starter for a party of four. Anyway, they are yummy and you should try them. I got the salmon with veggies and rice. The salmon was perfect and delicious. I didn't care for the rice, there was some sort of flavor that didn't do it for me, but there are plenty of other sides to choose from. This is one of my kids favorites for their breakfasts and so we've come a few times over the last few months. The food never disappoints but the service always has. I looked for a way to contact them directly but couldn't find a website so am posting a review here in hopes to share constructive feedback. My kids (3 kids) and I arrived just after 10 AM before church today, Sunday, and the place was almost full. The main guy, I assume the manager, took our order along with 2 other tables around 10:15. My kids were playing and coloring as we waited for the food after getting our drink order. The two other tables whom orders at the same time as us had received their food and finished eating before our food even arrived. Also, no one came to refill drinks until we asked for refills after our food got to our table 50 minutes later, at 11:05. Not only was the food staggered when it came out, my one son got his 10 min before any of the other food came out, but no one checked on our drinks, came by to see how our food was, nor offered anything due to the delay. I'll continue coming here as the kids love this place, but I hope they can work out the service side and improve their organization and approach. read more

We ordered 3 eggs and 3 pancakes it took 40 minutes and 2 eggs came out, 2 minutes after that the pancakes and another 2 eggs that were very over easy just leaking whites all over. Bad experience. read more

We have had several good breakfasts here and my wife loves the Chef salad. Now that Jerry's is open for dinner we are sampling the other side of the menu. The pot roast was a miss however, it was very thin and yet tough to chew. It was also a small portion for the price considering dinner does not come with soup or salad. I have to say the chili burger is awesome though, a large 8 oz patty smothered in homemade chili. We are slowly working our way through the menu and plan to try most of it in the coming months with the exception of the Chicken Parmesan that comes with garlic mashed potatoes and rice... read more

We've escaped to Nevada from the San Francisco Bay Area and are thrilled to be here for one year now. However, the only thing we miss from the Bay Area is the food. The breakfast we had today at Jerry's Grill would put some high-end chefs in the San Francisco Bay Area to shame!! We were first struck by the beautiful cuisine presentation! The California Benedict arrived with crispy bacon beautifully wrapped around each perfectly, soft poached egg on avocado and tomato slices. The hollandaise sauce was delectable and each egg had a few sprigs of fresh spinach that had been perfectly blanched. The other dish was Chorizo fiesta omelette with fantastic quality chorizo browned into into perfectly crunchy bites with freshly sautéed peppers. The service was EXCELLENT. They even served us a special side of heavy cream for our coffee when we asked for it. Best restaurant meal we've had in between Reno and Las Vegas! read more

Decided to stop and check out breakfast. Fast and friendly service. We decided to eat outside. About a dozen tables all with umbrellas. Menu had a good selection of standard breakfast fare and some Mexican selections also. My husband had a Belgian waffle that came perfectly crisp. I went for the chorizo fiesta omelet and we each got a side of bacon. The omelet was perfect and came with a side of salsa. We checked out the lunch and dinner options and will be coming back to try it out! I will mention again how friendly staff is and will say it is very reasonably priced!! read more

I grew up in the small town of Gardnerville, NV and up until Jerry's Grill got put in, there was only two good breakfast restaurants in both Gardnerville and Minden. Yet after going to Jerry's, I can now firmly say this is probably the best breakfast place around the area. Great service, and a nice outside seating area. Although take note their bathroom is a little sketchy. read more

I will never go back to this place. From the very beginning the staff was rude when we asked to sit outside and for a high chair for our 1 year old. It took forever to get our order in and we had to ask for coffee,water and every condiment we wanted. Our son does extremely well in restaurants but he couldn't even handle this place. It took an hour to get our food and then once we got it we had to scarf it down because our son was out of patience. The food was awful to boot! I would not take children here and if you are looking forward to a nice morning out with your family. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

My husband and I stopped at Jerry's Grill for an early lunch when we were on a road trip. It doesn't look like much from the outside but they had a pretty large menu with a combination of Mexican and American dishes. We both ordered Chilaquiles, one with salsa rosa and one with salsa verde. The portions were substantial and the chilaquiles were really flavorful. We were both in love with the salsa verde! The service was fast and friendly and the prices were extremely reasonable. We plan to make this a stop on our next road trip. read more

Greeted right away during lunch rush. Friendly. Seated quickly. The menu is extensive (for gardnerville) and a pleasant surprise. Same location as prior Mexican restaurant but looked and smelled clean, with NEW dishes and silverware and glassware. Order was taken forthwith. We waited what we thought was too long for our food, about 25 minutes, but we got there right behind many new arrivals, we noticed. No problem. Sharp and friendly waiter Ken. All wait staff were attentive without hovering. Water refilled promptly. Food arrived and was hot. They mistakenly brought fries when onion rings were ordered. Ken left the plate and brought an extra side of onion rings instead of removing entire plate back to kitchen as some other places have done. The patty melt came on marble rye, and the meat patty was pretty thick. The philly steak sandwich came with tri-tip style meat instead of shaved thin. The peppers and onion were good. The food was good, but we will try something different next time. We are so looking forward to a NEW breakfast place in town. Yay. read more

I would give this place negative five stars if I could! The owner needs to get it together and hire new people. The three women that work there don't make eye contact with you and aren't friendly at all. My mom, boyfriend and I came in this morning on our way back from a road trip, starving and expecting good service. When we first got there, the lady in the front didn't even acknowledge the fact that we were there. We were sat about 7 minutes after coming in which was alright. That was until we had to wait about 15 minutes to even get any drinks. Then about 20 minutes later they took our order. After they took our order, we waited about 45 minutes. In the meantime, our waitress didn't even look at us or come to see if we needed anything. After about an hour of waiting, my mom asked if our food was coming out soon. The waitress was very rude and said it was going to be about another 10 minutes. At that point, we were very angry and told her that we were leaving. All she said to us was "sorry" and walked away. This place either needs to shut down or find a completely new crew. Hopefully people will see this before they decide to go here so they won't have to go through what we went through. read more
