Calzone craving! Placed and order at Jerry's Pizzeria while in the neighborhood. Located on the jug handle going into Hudson Mall. Parking is a challenge. The customer service is still top notch. Family owned and operated with more than 1 pizzeria serving Jersey City. The specialty pizza slices and the garlic knots on display looked very appetizing. Will definitely return to try some of them. I regret not taking home a slice of that white pizza with bacon topping. I went through a calzone phase in my college days. I am accustomed to the traditional calzone with the ingredients baked inside a pizza folded over, like a giant empanada. I didn't open the box til i got home. My calzone looked more like a sandwich. It was pizza dough baked into the shape of a calzone that was sliced open and the ingredients were placed inside this already baked bun like a sandwich. Basically a sandwich wanting to be a calzone. Regardless whether or not my calzone crave was satisfied, what I ate was a 3.5 star good. I will definitely return to give the specialty slices a try but will look for a pizzeria offering a more traditional calzone. read more

Great pizza, great service and prompt delivery. I had a party that was starting at noon and needed pizza delivered before guests arrived. I've always wanted to try Jerry's pizza and so I called and Jerry, the owner, took my order (2 cheese pizza, 1 veggie, 1 pepperoni, and 1 meat lovers). He promised the pizza will be delivered by 12:10 (I called at 11:20-11:30) which he did personally. Additionally, he texted me as he was making the pizza, adding fresh ingredients, loading and delivery. The service is incredible and his pizza are all very good! I'll be a repeat customer! read more

Had a couple of margarita slices today from the restaurant since they looked like the most appetizing of all the pizzas they served. The slices were square Grandma style and pizza dough was slightly thick. Personally, I like my margarita slices thin and square but the flavor was on point. I absolutely love this place it's fairly new but quality food and quick service! The prices are extremely Reasonable and the portions are HUGE! You really feel like you get a good deal for your buck. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan with linguini pasta (they also give you other pasta options or Ziti) and it was just so tasty. They also give you bread and even after ordering delivery, everything was HOT and seemed so freshly made. Such a big portion for only about $11.50 including tax is a great deal! I found this place on Yelp when I was looking for a local Italian restaurant, and I'm so glad I did! It's a small place, but definitely a neighborhood favMy dinner was delicious: a fresh salad with plenty of olives and roasted peppers, and a huge plate of chicken parmigiana! Seafood pasta was generic frozen seafood and bland sauce. Small pie was meh, chewy dough not enough sauce and cheese. Overall disappointing. Jerry Catered my husband's birthday party and did an amazing job! Super professional. They came in and set up prior to the party. Then, came back at the end to clean up. And the food was delicious! Jerry just opened approximately 5 months ago. I haven't had his pizza (yet). I ordered the calamari. He then asked how I liked my sauce. I looked at him confused: "Isn't it just marinara?" I should've known then and there how incredible the food was going to be. Authentic Italian, from a corner pizzeria? I didn't order to-go. I stayed. The calamari was amazing. The marinara wasn't served in a sauce bowl. It was served in a cereal/soup-sized bowl and was the perfect combination of tangy, sweet, & spicy. The chicken parm was as delicious. He threw in some ricotta just to keep me on my toes. The portions were Oprah-esque generous. The service was beyond. This wasn't a pizzeria. This was an uncle who invited me over for dinner with the family. Jerry came around to chat. He disclosed that he's also a chef at Pavesi Ristorante in Morristown. He's been working on his craft since the age of 14 at various restaurants in Little Italy. He asked we cheer for him when he appears on Chopped in a few months. He's an excellent chef. Renowned, even. But humble enough to put up a corner pizzeria in uptown Jersey City, along highways rather than condos. He's a cheerful :young: man who just wants to feed everybody he comes across. pizza and food is well priced and they offer quick delivery. Where I work it's pretty hard to get food delivery, but Jerry's always comes through. Unfortunately, the cheese tends to slide off the pie, so you have to work with that. But otherwise good standard pizza. read more

Biggest disappointment was dessert as I saw the canoli-like pie on their yelp picture and it was a big draw for me to come in. I found out only after asking that they don't offer it on the menu. They had basic staples so I tried the cannoli which was fine but not as epic as the older pictures I was excited to try.
