Really enjoyed this place. Love the fries on the gyros. The employees were friendly and the food was really good. Sponikopita was a nice size and had great flavor. Will be back.

Very delicious place to get gyros! I ordered the lamb gyro and my husband ordered the pork and we both enjoyed our sandwiches! We will definitely be back!

I've been on a Greek food kick and after trying 2 other spots in the area recently, I decided to try this one on a whim. My usual order is the chicken souvlaki platter which here comes with a salad, spread, side and pita. I ordered mine sans salad, tzatziki spread and Greek fries; in addition I requested a side of pink sauce which I've never gotten asked anything further but here they didn't seem to know what I was referring to and offered me another type of pink like sauce, which did end up being tasty, albeit it wasn't what I was looking for and it was dumped in the container rather than in a little sauce container. I also asked what their avo tzatziki sauce was ie did it have avocado and was just told no without further detail. Overall, the service was friendly but I wish the person at the register was more knowledgeable/sharing about the food. The food itself was very tasty and worth the visit. I would just plan on coming with an order in mind and not expecting the spot to be able to provide much assistance. Lastly, other places have offered for same price and set up adding in rice but I guess since they offer salad that's the trade off.

Wonderful staff. We had questions about an item and they were very straight forward and polite. My husband and I each got a platter. They are very hearty portions. They even carry Gluten free pita which is a win! The lamb was very flavorful. My salad was lovely with the piece of fresh feta. I enjoyed my platter; had to save about half which is definitely going to be my dinner. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable to eat in. Highly recommend.

Jersey Gyro's has been on my socials for some time --- finally got to try this gem today! Ordered two yummy items: the first, I had at the restaurant itself --- the lamb gyro ($11). It took probably about 3-4 minutes at my seat before the employee came and delivered my food. First impression? It looked exactly how I saw it on Instagram! The pita was filled with yummy veggies, lots of lamb, and a PILE of freshly fried fries. Topped with some sauce --- yup, definitively a 10! On the way out, I ordered a spanakopita ($8) to take home. When I opened the container, there was a massive square of delicious dough and spinach. One taste of that dish, and I was transported! Another 10/10. Give this place a chance, food is yummy and inside was very clean. The employee said the spanakopita, plus all the desserts they have on the counter, are baked fresh every single day. They are truly representing! Next time I am going to try their FAMOUS pork gyros. You heard that right!

This is my third time going to this location and the food is always delicious! The owner is extremely kind and even let us try the newer yellow sauce on a previous visit. This visit we ordered the chicken pita sandwich and it was very tasty but it looks exactly like a gyro sandwich so I'm not sure if we were given the correct order.

Best gyros around. Big portions fresh food. Definitely worth the price. The people that work there are the nicest people ever as well. There's a few tables inside if you want to sit there and eat. All the meats are very good the chicken is dark meat. I love the lamb.

The owner Mike is there at all times making your food to be sure you have an amazing traditional. I started out with a gluten-free pita And a pulled pork gyro . Soooo amazing need some tzatziki so I loaded up on it YUM ! and the spanakopita both so amazing. You like Greek food ? This is the spot !

Got a lamb gyro and it was tasty. Fries were seasoned with greek seasoning and lemon , lamb was tender and thin, and the tzatziki sauce added a nice freshness. The sandwich was also loaded with fresh lettuce, onion and tomato. The service was also excellent, fast and they came around asking how the food was (always appreciate it when they care)

So delicious!! Authentic Greek food, simple, tasty, and fresh. Top notch service, comfortable space. When the owner told me his mom made the desserts from scratch, I knew this place was the real deal. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!!

Finally a Greek place nearby with lots of options. We have been twice and tried the pork, chicken and lamb gyros as well as 3 of their dips (babaganoush, fava and spicy feta). The baba was my favorite. The gyros are all well seasoned and bursting with flavor. You have the option to put the gyro on a roll which my husband is liking as a change from pita (especially with pork). Portions are also quite large for the price. So much dip. You won't go hungry. The chicken gyro has a house mustard sauce which was different. I think so far my favorite is the classic lamb gyro. We tried one of the cakes but weren't crazy about it.

    No meat

Wish I could give this a 4 or 5 star. I was traveling and came across this spot. Very flavorful fresh pita. It was almost perfect. But the fries killed it. Too many fries and they were soggy fries. It was late so I'm gonna give them a slight pass. But there was hardly any meat for $17. Definitely wouldn't buy again unless there's an option for No fries. Not bad but not worth the price. You can see after I took all the fries off not much meat. But the meat is flavorful.!

As we walked in, it wasn't too busy, we got a table right away. The interior looked super pretty with brick wall background, tables and booths for dining indoor. We started with the grilled octopus that had delicious seasoning with mix of olive oil and red wine vinegar. The complimentary bread was fluffy, accompanied perfectly with the octopus. The branzino was a flavorful filet, well cooked. The side of spinach was well made too. I loved the lamb kokinisto (from specials menu). The meat was so tender and the sauce was incredible. I just kept taking bites and eventually finished the whole bowl. At the end I took the rice pudding to go and loved the taste of it. Our server Stephen was super nice, paid full attention to all his tables. He told us about the specials of the day from which I actually found out about lamb kokinisto. The baba ghanoush was everything I love in a good eggplant dip and was a definite win in our book - seasoned, textured, and slightly smokey. We intuited this would be delicious by getting two containers of it, and this turned out to be a great life choice. Chicken adana is a fan favorite in our house, and it's done pretty well here. They're like elongated loaves of marinated and spiced ground chicken, and delicious with rice and a dollop of yogurt sauce. We preferred these over the chicken kebab, which were just as flavorful but quite a bit drier. Both entrees were served with a grilled tomato and pepper, which were still warm and charred from the grill. They also came with small side salads, with lightly dressed and slightly wilted greens. Whether it's a roast turkey with endless sides, spicy meat stew, a seafood extravaganza, or even no-frills Kentucky Fried Chicken, there's no holding back when the season for feasting rolls around. Located on busy Broadway in Elmwood Park, we decided on our Christmas Eve dinner at this family-owned establishment. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, my partner and I were greeted by the owner at Taverna Mykonos and got a table for two right away in the corner where the tables are close to each other inside their cozy, very dim-lit, and elegant dining room with Christmas music playing throughout. There's a full bar with an extensive selection of Greek wines, with approximately 80% sourced from regions across Greece, as well as other excellent choices from California and Spain. The menu featured both authentic traditional Greek dishes along with many other options. The restaurant bakes all of its bread as well as its desserts. Traditionally, the meat of choice served during a Greek Christmas meal is lamb and pork. For starters, we decided to share Keftedes (Greek-style seasoned meatballs served with tzatziki dipping sauce). For our main meal, we opted for Baby Roasted Lamb with roasted potatoes and Lamb Shank with tomato orzo. Complimentary bread started our meal, and we washed it down with a sparkling spring water product of Greece. Complimentary cookies were given to each table at the end of the meal. The food was fresh, using quality ingredients, tasty, and well-presented. We enjoyed the keftedes very much, as they were moist and complemented well with the tzatziki dipping sauce. The portion was reasonable. However, we were disappointed with the Baby Roasted Lamb, as it was mostly bones with only some pieces of edible meat. Service is professional, friendly, and fast. The cost is comparable to the area. Exchanged a few words with the owner, George, about the old neighborhood in Astoria. Opa!
