The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.

Usually, we go to the La Havra location and I'm NOT a fan of that one. Their drive thru is horrible. People cut in from a different driveway after you've been patiently waiting. The employees don't care. One of them actually said that to me. Enough about that location. I found the one I will be regularly visiting!! My family is happy about that. I'm super big on service provided and boy, did they not disappoint. I ordered on their app and my order was ready at the promised time. The store was clean, as it's newly built and just opened about 6mo ago. The staff were friendly and courteous. The food was fresh and hot. This was the best Cane's experience I've had in a few years. The parking lot is very big and clean. There are several spots near the front entrance that are for online order pick up. Also, very well lit. They have a patio that is pretty big and it's lovely. They had music going, but not too loud, but loud enough that my 5yo started dancing and singing the song. As did I. We will be going back and I just hope it stays clean and the staff friendly.

Service is always friendly, efficient, and excellent, and they keep the place clean even though it's always busy.

Barely moved to Whittier about a month ago , and seen all the good reviews about Krunch Burger so I…read moredecided to see for myself. I kinda had low expectations because I've always assumed smash burgers were going to be a thin burger that would not fill you up.... Boy was I wrong. I went in 30 mins before closing on Saturday and there weren't that many people so I kinda was nervous. The young Asian girl at the front was very kind and was answering all the questions I had and what kind of combinations were possible. I ended up getting a double smash burger (added some grilled onions) with bacon and jalapeños w/ crunch fries and a butterfinger milkshake (I got a big appetite lol) . The for the crunch fries you're required to pick two different dipping sauces and my gosh there were so many different options that sounded so appetizing that I didn't know which ones to pick, I ended up just getting the classic Krunch Islands (thousand islands sauce) and the garlic aioli. Picking up the burger I knew this wasn't no regular skinny patty smash burger..... this bad boy had some weight to it and it sure wasn't the toppings. The burger was immaculate, filling and overall worth the price. The only downside was the cheese not really a fan of processed cheese but that's just my opinion.... And I still ended up loving it. The Krunch fries were spot on exactly what I was thinking it would be. The butterfinger milkshake immaculate as well. Words can't describe it And the thing that I pointed out from the burger was the pickles. Those pickles are not joke they really go beyond with there house based pickles. Will definitely be coming back to this spot.

She mentioned how they make their own pickles and grated their own cheese right off the block. Sat at the bar with view of the cooking and assembly process, each step looked like it was made with care. The fries, omg these fries were superb!!! The perfect texture and crunch, hot out of the fryer and well seasoned. From all the pictures of the krunch burger I was a little skeptical thinking how greasy and oily it must be. But I was so surprised that it wasn't! Despite the smashed grilled cheese skirt it didn't otherwise feel like biting into a layer of grease. Had it with jalapeños which are a must! Its a fairly heavy meal so I wouldn't say eat this daily but for a treat-yo-self kind of burger experience this spot is it!!

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.
