I have seen some viral videos on various customizations of Jersey Mike's subs, so I wanted to give them a try again. We picked up the following two subs to go: +the #7 - Turkey and Provolone - had this on the rosemary bread with turkey breast slices and provolone, Mike's Way (with extra onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil, and spices), and added extra pickles with mayo and pepper relish +the #55 - the Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese Steak - with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and extra White American cheese, adding mayo and chipotle mayo Unfortunately, both subs were a bit disappointing - the #7 was super soggy, which seems unavoidable, as the vinegar and oil just make this a super wet sandwich. Also, the turkey and the veggies seem to have a mildew-like odor to them, so unsure if the cutlery or the station is just not being cleaned properly. The #55 was extremely salty - not sure how much salt was dumped on here, but this was unable to be consumed after the first bite. Staff here are friendly, but quality control seems to be an issue. Whenever I want something quick to eat I try to find a Jersey Mikes. Granted, since I am from Jersey, I am semi-biased because they're not like the northern New Jersey, but they do come close so I do like coming in to get a sub. The service is good as well. It's very quick very polite no problems there when you come in it gives you Jersey shore vibes. The ambience there has pictures of Jersey shore, which is very famous of Jersey Mike's, which is cool. read more

Food is usually pretty good. Lately the staff has been very lazy. Today we ordered and were told our order would be ready in 15 minutes. Walking in when my order was supposed to be ready, the staff was lounging around and talking/not working while 6 order slips were printed out and not touched. They had not even started preparing my order when it was supposed to be ready and I had to wait even longer for my food. The subs are fine here but the staff has issues with customer attentiveness and quality control. Went in for a sub today and asked for #2, they started making a tuna, and I had to catch them and say I asked for #2 not tuna. The main lady behind the counter is more concerned about chit chat with her co-workers than the customers. Then when I'm rung up I notice "was that $36 I just paid for one sub?". The gentleman ringing me charged me for a whole second order which had to be removed after the fact. A third employee, younger lady told the gentleman who rung me up to be careful what he's doing and refunded the extra amount. This location is relatively new to Alexandria and in its first year was a pretty dependable location. The staff is also generally nice. However, my recent experiences have been repeatedly less than inspiring. The speed of service is regularly wanting and the decline in order quality makes Subway "sandwich artists" look like Picasso. Notwithstanding several customers and I experiencing an over ten minute wait at my most recent visit, my wrap order was so greasy and unappetizing that it was translucent, as pictured below. The staff was helpful and courteous as well while the food was fresh and delicious. I got a Veggie sub with the works and a side of chips with a water. I've never had a bad sandwich at any Jersey Mike's... until now. I was finishing up some business in Alexandria and on a whim checked to see if there were any nearby Jersey Mike's. To my happiness, at the time, this one was only a few miles away. I stopped by, got my sub (a #9 Club Supreme on Whole Wheat) and headed home looking forward to a delightful lunch. I did have lunch but without the delight. This time the sub tasted a bit... off. Not bad, certainly not Subway bad, but far from their usual standards of tastiness and deliciousness. The staff welcome you upon entering store which is a nice touch. When you are at the counter trying to make your decision the staff are talking amongst themselves and you feel awkward having to interrupt their conversation to ask a question. Upon making the sandwich I noticed when they sliced the meat they let it fall on the counter and then picked it up after adding cheese to place on bread. I don't think that's very appetite pleasing for a customer who doesn't know how many germs are on the rag you use to wipe off counters (please change your practice of doing this). it almost felt as if they were weighing the lettuce, onions, etc. before placing on sandwich because of the lack of the ingredients once sandwich was completed. This is the first time I have experienced this at a Jersey Mikes. Speak loud and clear with how you want your sandwich made (I thought I did). I noticed when incorrectly adding something to your sandwich and you bring it to their attention, they assume moving the last item added will make what they added incorrectly disappear (remake the sandwich please). Assume the customer has allergies and that's why they told you not to put it on the sandwich. The sandwich was ok overall, just a little thin because of lack of lettuce, etc. Once your food is ready the staff have moved onto another order before recognizing they need to bag your food so you can enjoy your order. With 4 people at the counter I should not have to ask is my food ready so someone can put it in the bag.the store appeared to be clean but there was no customers sitting at tables. Managers please train your staff so others can have a better experience when they visit. I'll have to rethink if I want to visit this store again. read more

I came in here for lunch today and discovered that they have several different bread options for their sandwiches. I chose rosemary palm as the bread for my tuna sandwich. I also asked for lettuce, tomatoes, red bell peppers, and mustard as the toppings. What was interesting is they had a team of four people prepare my sandwich complete the checkout process. Everyone who helped me was nice and it was obvious they were happy to be there. OMG!!! ok. I've waited a couple days to post. But still perturbed. Love love love JM's club sub and original Italian. the quality is not the issue. There are some nitwits there who just can't read or follow directions properly. I've been quiet about this because we love their food. But come on JM!!! How can this picket street location 9 times out of my past 11 orders mess up directions soooooooo badly?!?!?!? If someone is fighting with dyslexia, I surely understand. No problem. BUT GET THEM OFF THE SUB LINE!!!! More often than not, we order the #8 and #13. #8 with rosemary parm bread and #13 with regular bread. Why is this difficult?? the majority of our orders they switched the bread on the subs. I don't like picking rosemary out of my teeth. So we have to switch the bread out. I don't like tomatoes either, but they get that wrong on the orders also (#8 with tomatoes #13 NO TOMATOES) so now I have to swap out bread and pick out mushy tomatoes and put them on the other sub. I ask of NO ONIONS on BOTH and 8 out of 11 time have got stinky ugly onions. I don't have more than 2 subs in an order. I don't have 15 individual orders in my order. I try to order at non-busy times. but I have had 9times out of 11 times now, where everything between my two sub order instructions were not followed and a mess was made. the brookfield plaza location CONSIDERABLY further away from me can get my orders correct. I guess I will have to pay even MORE extra through uber to order from the Brookefield plaza location since they've only messed up my order twice out of 13 times ordering. ugh. read more

I had never try Jersey Mikes till today. I'm SO happy I ordered from them today. Hubs and me ordered subs for dinner this evening through Uber Eats. I got the #13 sub on rosemary bread (very yummy!) with extra cheese,mayo,banana peppers,lettuce,oil & vinegar,and pepper relish. The toppings,meat,cheese and bread were all fresh and the sandwich was well prepared and delicious! I will definitely be ordering this again! Hubs got the #12 on rosemary bread and practically inhaled his sub he enjoyed it so much. He's a very picky eater and was really impressed with his subs quality and taste. Sorry we gobbled all the grub up before i could snap some pictures. But we will be ordering from here again in the near future and will update this review with some food photos.
