Good service makes a difference. I've written about other JM locations. This is the first time I've been to this one. The staff at this one should be role models for all stores. I walked in and a young man, David, greeted me and everyone that came in. The 3 young women behind the counter, Kristen, Kurt and Zareia were also greeting everyone and were upbeat and outgoing while remaining professional. They even greated obvious regulars by name. I placed my order, which I like a specific way, and without and questions or hard time made it as I asked. A tad over what I asked but quality was still excellent. I was going to take it out but wanted to sit in store and see if they stayed this way. The whole time they cleaned, they worked and kept upbeat the whole time. Kurt was by far the leader that kept everyone on task and happy and Kristen was right there with her. Fun group. professional and made quality food. This place should be commended. read more

DISGUSTING is the word for this place. Ordered grilled veggies on the bread instead of a wrap and the staff got so confused.. after 10 minutes they finally understood what we want. Update on original review based on latest visit. Was disappointed with last visit. I ordered a large cheesesteak plain and a drink. The guy who took my order confirmed that I didn't want anything else on it. I paid and poured sweet tea while waiting for sandwich. The tea had black stuff floating in it, so I got soda instead and told staff member about the tea. She looked in and saw nothing, so guessed the black stuff must be coming out of spout (yuk!). Then my steak sandwich was made improperly, so had to wait longer for a new one to be made. Got it home and there was hardly any steak in it. Definitely not worth almost $13.00. Having second thoughts about going back again. read more

I really like this place! The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the manager is always there. He clearly takes pride in his business because he's always walking around asking how things are and he isn't afraid to chat and ask how your day is going. The bread has always been really fresh. ..not the hard, stale, crusty subs some other places offer. It's nice to have a great sub place in Dover! I appreciate the fresh ingredients! Yesterday afternoon I bought two subs from this Jersey Mike's in Dover, Delaware. I had a "senior moment " and left my wallet on the table when I left the restaurant. I did not discover this until this morning. Needless to say I was very anxious and worried about whether I would ever see the wallet again. I finally realized that I had last used it at the Jersey Mike's the night before. I was there when they opened up this morning and when I walked in the manager said "I bet you're here looking for your wallet " and handed it to me. Was I ever relieved. I'm so grateful to the employees working yesterday afternoon for finding and holding on to my wallet. It was just as I had left it .In today's world of divisive rhetoric and skepticism it is so wonderful to find that good people are still all around us. This is not a one dollar sign $ kind of menu, nothing here is cheap. The subs are way over prices and the normally priced ones are way too small. The meat and bread have a cheap taste to them. Would highly not recommend. read more

The owner does take pride in every order. I go there at least twice a month. In one experience I ordered the club sub and found out when I got home that they forgot the bacon. I called the store to notify them and they asked me if I wanted to bring it back, and I didn't so I was told I would be getting a call back from the Manager the next day. The manager called me and was so apologetic. He made every attempt to make things right and even to change the way the sandwich is made to ensure it doesn't happen again to anyone else. read more

Today was the grand opening...the place was packed! I almost didn't go in as I figured since it was the first day service would be slow. Boy, was I wrong! We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Best subs in Dover. I read where people are comparing them to Subway. You can not compare them. Two different types of subs. I enjoy Subway. They have a good selection. They have more choices then Mikes. Now on to the review. Though Mikes does not have as big of a selection as Subway, the subs they do offer are the best in town. I personally have had the Cheesesteak, Habanero Cheesesteak and the Rueben. The Habanero used to be my favorite but now it is hard to pick one since I have tried the other two. The rolls are to die for there. I only get the regular size and it is more than enough with the amount of product they put on the sub. All of the ingredients are as fresh as you could possibly want. We have also never waited over 10 minutes from the time we walk in until we have our sub in front of us. If you haven't tried Mikes yet do yourself a favor and try them. I am not sure how I feel about this location. It was their first Friday night that they are open, they had a fund raiser going on and rave weekend all at once. While I grew up Poor Boys and that being where Jersey Mikes got there start I have always been a Poor Boys fan. That being said it is so nice having a real sub shop in the area with good bread. Now here's where I'm mixed I am understanding that they just opened and they were extremely busy there was enough staff working and the line moved quickly. The staff worked very hard but as I waited on line I noticed several people's orders having issues, so when I got to ordering my order I made a point to watch the order and sure enough one sub was made with mayo when requested without they were going to just change the top of the roll and the meat was covered in mayo, this was not acceptable I would of ended up wasting 10 bucks on the sub when it would of ended up in the garbage, finally someone offered to make it correctly and it was. The sandwiches were all good and again being born and raised jersey it is like being home this is how a sub should be. It is their first week and I will of course give them a chance to work the kinks out. read more

I absolutely love this place. Their app makes it very easy to order lunch and avoid the long line-lunch rush. I've had only one experience that wasn't stellar, but I understand that mistakes happen. The manager was quick to reach out to me and make it right. There are a lot of places to choose for subs, but if you want fresh sliced meats, soft rolls, AWESOME bacon and made in front of you, I would go to Jersey Mike's. I'm from N Philly home of the cheesesteak . The first time I stopped by it was to get my free hoagie ... we don't call em subs in Philly . I ordered Italian mikes way , it was deeelious !! I have also tried Chipotle cheesesteak it's delicious too . The bread is wonderful and baked right on premises . Your meat is sliced to order . On few occasions my hoagie wasn't made exactly the way I liked it , I did what a mature adult does and called store. The manager told me she would take care of me and she did . Are they perfect ?? I ordered a grilled veggie wrap. The only veggies that were in the wrap were shredded lettuce and a little sliced tomato. It was cold when they served it. There was some cheese, but no grilled veggies. You can go to the market and make this for about $1.50 instead of the $7.00+ I paid for it. I hope the subs are better. read more

For those who prefer Subway you are dead inside. This is a very good fast food sub maker.The taste and quality is much better than a Subway or Blimpies. After a recent disappointing visit to Capriottis (I won't go back...at least not to the one on Route 10) and the closing of my favorite sub shop in town (Primos), I decided to give Jersey Mikes a shot, purely because my options are getting quite limited. I was SO pleasantly surprised! For starters, I was greeted immediately upon entering. I was promptly helped at the counter, even at the peak of lunch time on a Friday. My sandwich was made quickly. And the cashier couldn't have been nicer. The quality doesn't quite match up to that of Capriottis (before they started skimping on meat) or Primos, but was certainly superior to Subway. I'll definitely go back. It was a solid sandwich and, of at least equal importance, the staff was friendly and inviting. read more

No real good hoagie places in central DE, primos down the road is good but Jersey Mikes blows them away! Italian sub with the correct Italian meats and using the Juice "Mikes way" is awesome.
