Really slow service, over two hours of waiting on the store to make my food and didn't even receive one of the sandwiches that I ordered

3.5: Solid sandwiches with customers cycling in and out. Located in a plaza with Marshall's, Stop and Shop and a nail place, this Jersey Mike's is not a bad spot for sandwiches. Like other franchises, they have hot and cold sandwiches, most offered in 3 sizes (mini, regular and giant). You can choose your bread and a few toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo. The regular tuna and chicken Philly were pretty good (roll wasn't stale) but also pretty salty. A couple of times when I've ordered two sandwiches at jersey Mike's, the cold sandwich was made right away and then my hot sandwich was forgotten without prodding. That's what happened today which was disappointing. However, the person who rang me up was very professional and nice; if only there were three of him! The absolute worst Jersey Mikes around and I'm a huge fan of the franchise. Simply not enough staff here ever. I thought it was a one time thing but I will never be back after today when we waited for over an hour from our order time for 3 basic sandwiches. They're always a person down and/or have a new person. 2 (guys) of the 4 people behind the counter are actually working - who I feel bad for. The other 2 (ladies) just stood there moving meat from one sandwich to the next half the time it looked like they were never actually making a sandwich just moving meat randomly around. Constantly having to take things off and start over. Then, for the second time in a row, I watched an employee quit and walk out. Not that she was working anyway. If management is reading this you really need to up your game with hiring. If I were the 2 guys that work here that actually work I would quit because they're doing it all. And even 4 people actually working was not enough at the 1-2pm lunch hour. I can't imagine the store was any busier than a store in a city but you would think it was the first time this store had more than 20 people order a sandwich. This store needs new management. There are 6 employees in the store; 5 are "working". One on break. 6 customers in line, and 4 customers online waiting for pick up orders. I'm 10 minutes past my pick up time (25 minutes since order was placed) and been here 15 minutes and that is how long it took for a second employee to start helping make the online orders after the in person line was finished. Zero situational awareness from staff to help out the one employee working hard try to make 10 customers orders on his own. I regret ordering. All I wanted was a quick BLT but this is a thirty minute endeavor, don't order online here you have to go in person I guess so it's faster. read more

Definitely recommend! The subs are always fresh and they make sure to add a good amount of turkey. I ordered the turkey and provolone and it didn't disappoint. There is also a large parking lot making it very convenient to grab and go. They also have tables if you'd prefer to eat inside. read more

I used to work in one of the best delis on the planet, no joke, so my standards are very, very high... Probably unreasonably so, but that's the way I'm wired I suppose. And I am really wary of chain sandwich places with a moral and physical hatred for Subway in particular, and others I just avoid as much as possible. Because the quality just sucks -- better off going to a supermarket deli to have them make a sandwich (which is the food equilvalent of a Led Zeppelin cover band; they almost get it but it's just not the same.) So yeah, I prejudicially lumped Jersey Mike's in with those places. How good could a franchised place be? C'mon. But I found myself there after debating what to have for a late lunch. I wanted something simple, tasty, fast and not terribly unhealthy. I wanted a nice sub sandwich, dammit. Quick in and out, parking, not spend too much... done and done. I walk in. Didn't feel like the corporate, assembly-line order, pay, get out kinda place. Felt almost neighborhoody. Young guys behind the counter didn't have the 1000-yard stare of working in a soulless place, or that shitty attitude because it's the only job they can get. Wasn't familiar with their particular concept so I asked for a custom sandwich, no problem. They were friendly, polite, even the new kid, bless him, who struggled to bag my sandwich the way he was trained. I didn't care that it was taking a little longer, and I told him as such. "I understand, I used to work in a deli. Maaaany years ago." He said, "You are the first customer to ever say you worked at a deli." Anyhoo, I got home, tucked into my sub and it was very, very satisfying. Turkey and bacon, I believe. Simple, tasty. But really, what will bring me back is the vibe there. When you have to eat gluten-free, you almost weep with relief when you find something safe to eat. They were great about changing gloves and cleaning the stations to prepare my delicious gluten-free sandwich. The bread was packaged separately and soft--this was a pleasant surprise because many gluten-free breads can be gross. I haven't been able to get a good sub in ages because there are truly no options around and I am thrilled I have a nearby location. read more

For someone who doesn't eat fast food and never goes to chain delis, I LOVE Jersey Mike's. I recently started coming here more often because it's super close to my job. The sandwiches are delicious. The mini fills me up perfectly - it's a nice treat since I usually bring my lunch. The people who work there are very nice and always make sure to ask if you want it Mike's Way even though that's the standard. (which I appreciate) One thing I wish Jersey Mike's in general would add to their menu is cheddar. It's my fave cheese! read more

Just visited this store. Requested gluten free sub (preference) and asked them to warm the bread. We were ordering 2 hot subs as well. They told me no, no time, they were busy - we were last on line. The manager said ok, then the girl taking our order said that's fine but we will have to wait a really long time and the manager just let her dictate. So we changed our order to one sandwich, because my son was waiting and cancelled the other two. Super disappointed. Poor customer service. Will make every effort not to return. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I was here today 8/20/21 at 3:15pm and the girl working the register had a horrendous demeanor. There were SIX people working behind the line. After waiting over 15 minutes to pick up an online order while multiple other customers had already been helped, I politely inquired when the order might be ready. To which she responded "you don't have to get an attitude with me". This employee should be immediately reprimanded for their atrocious customer service and inability to multitask. From all the sub places you can go. None are like Jersey Mike's Subs. There is something about how they do things that are a notch above the rest. I've rectify just learned how good there tuna is. I'm also a fan of there cheesesteaks & of course their jersey Mike's sub. I would even recommend them to cater your party. Just overall a great place for subs. I wrote my dissatisfaction of this location over a year ago. Since it is the closest location to my home I have stopped by twice to find the same disorganization again and again. When will management stop making excuses for their Emerson store? More than 50% of the reviews on just this location are bad. I have gone to hundreds of Jersey mikes in about 8 states and the only one who consistently get bad ratings is Emerson. I will never return here again. Did my online order showed up maybe 2min early. There was bags on the pickup shelves none with my name no big deal I was early. Watched the lines back up as things got busier. 45min later I had it and the dude that was making sandwiches actually asked me as I was trying to get the guy at the registers attention what my name was. He turns to a counter full of pick ups and says here. There were 8 others in the same boat waiting for their orders they already paid for. The guy behind the register was obviously flustered and had no organizational skills to handle the job of taking payments from customers there and getting those bags on the shelves . Who knows how long my bag was sitting there but when I got home my sandwich was cold dry and the roll was burnt some how. I even left a tip ahead of time for this service. People standing there couldnt believe it either as they were finally getting their food after standing there so long. Did nobody wonder why we were standing there that long? Bergen County NJ is inundated with Italian deli's, sub shops, and regular deli's. We also have a ton of chain sub shops, and now Jersey Mike's is popping up all over the grid. I figured I would cave and give it a shot to see if it was worth it. I split a few things with friends just to see what things were like. Their cheesesteak isn't terrible at all, sure I could go get one somewhere else, but it wasn't the worst one I've had. Their BLT isn't bad either, but who can screw something up with only three ingredients? The staff seemed nice and friendly too which helps things go a bit further. read more
