I've never had Jersey Mike's despite having lived in jersey for most of my life. I ordered the veggie small sandwich and my partner ordered the Buffalo chicken. The Buffalo chicken surprisingly had some spice, though it looked a mess. The small veggie sandwich was accidentally made into a regular size, though that's better than if it was the other way around. Taste wise, both were fine but it seemed to be so costly for the amount that was given. $20 for a regular sized hot chicken sub and a small veggie sub. read more

Upon arriving, the staff behind the counter didn't smile or say hello when we came up to get our order in. It almost felt like we were an inconvenience to him. I looked up as I was about to order and saw what appeared to be a cut of the turkey meat thrown on top of the other meats in the glass display. It did not look appetizing or sanitary in anyway. I told the staff member my order and he interrupted me to say "you can tell me your toppings later, all I need to know now is what sandwich you want." Fair enough. He appears to be doing multiple orders at the same time so I tried to be patient. After several minutes, he forgets to inform me that two of my three were already made and put in the bag without asking me what toppings I wanted. I have ordered subs from the Howell, and both Point Pleasant stores. The meat and cheese were a significant quantity. Today I tried the Rt. 9 South in the Freehold, NJ store, and was I surprised. It was the thinnest sub that I have ever eaten. When I asked the young man who was working the slicer if they were cutting back on the quantity of the meat and cheese, he was confused. What it seems to me is that they are told to put about 15 slices of thinly sliced meat and 8 to 10 thin slices of cheese on each sub. Iif you don't get a full diameter slice, you are out of luck. read more

The best tasting subs using fresh, high-quality ingredients but with a smaller than expected portions with a hefty price tag. I'll be honest, I'm human like the rest of us and I absolutely love eating subs. And I will admit, Jersey Mike's uses the highest quality ingredients! But at the same time I'm disappointed that there are subs are smaller than everyone else's, and their prices are higher as well. Of course if I want the best tasting sub this is where I go and just suck up the price. They offer large and giant sized subs. The giant size sub is substantially smaller than other competitors. Even most pizzerias make larger subs. If they would just take their ingredients and make their subs at the same size as their competitors I would without a doubt give them five stars! Recently I ordered a bunch of subs for a party which included, Italian subs with salami ham and provolone; chicken Parmesan subs; and chicken cheesesteak subs. Well the Italian and chicken Parmesan subs were to die for, the chicken cheesesteak wasn't quite as good but still tasty. Fortunately I ordered more subs then I needed because I like to have extra, but due to the smaller sub size I had just enough for the party which worked out fine. Jersey Mike's is the place to go for the highest quality, best tasting subs. Just be prepared for smaller than typical subs with a higher than usual price tag. read more

Contact service is horrible. I received a Fathers Day gift card however when I went to store the card didnt work. I was told to contact customer service which I messaged thru app, left a voicemail & called 4 days straight with no answer in sight. This Jersey Mikes just keeps getting worse and worse. Tonight we finally vowed never to go back again. We had tried to give them another chance because of the charity donation night tonight. Wanted to help out a good cause but it would have been more beneficial to just send a check to a charity and order an actually decent sub from sorrentos or primos. My favorite part is visiting all the local mom and pop shops. Most have been around since the 50's or earlier. The personality of every business is so unique and different. That's what makes New Jersey so special (to me anyways) So what's the big difference between Jersey Mikes in NC and NJ---Well, for starters I've never seen the Family Size Lays chips bags! I always see the small ones with hardly anything in there. Sandwiches are just as good anywhere you go. The staff is really nice. The orders were correct. Prices are the same. Oh God where do I begin. First and foremost I truly hope the owner of this franchise reads this because change is absolutely needed. I used to frequent the Howell store but the last few times I've been, (spoiler alert) it smelled like urine mixed with vinegar. I absolutely love coming to the freehold location. The bread tastes fresher and seems bigger than Howell. The food just tastes better! Everyone I've seen adheres to the mask policy and the place is always clean and never smells bad at all. I've witnessed them telling customers to put their masks on which is amazing! The staff is very friendly even when they are swamped, which is often. The reason I can't justify giving you 5 stars is because I find it absolutely absurd that you have these beautiful big screen TVs that are off. They were never off pre-pandemic. The TVs in Howell and Jackson are on! Sometimes I'm waiting for awhile for them to make my 6 subs and it would be nice to watch something while I wait. I asked and they told me the cable is disconnected!!! This store is constantly busy so I know it can't be a finance thing! Come on now dawg! On top of that these guys are always working and doing so during COVID, arguably one of the hardest times in our history! One of the hardest times to work in, EVER and the owner decided to turn off the cable! What's next to go?? The heat??!! Think about your employees! Company moral is so important especially during these hard times. Wow!!! We just ordered subs last night and for 3 subs it was about $40!!!! They charge you $14-15 each for giant of a tuna & Italian in this location, and $8-9 for 1/2 of that. The next town over charges maybe $11 for the giant. They say giant feeds 4 people, what?????? There are maybe 4-5 sections. Like a normal full Size sub. Nothing different. 2 people share it...We each eat 2-3. NOT 4 people! They claimed because they were a corporate store the charge more. Huh??? Ok, what is the difference? Like customers are going to even think like that. Wait, wouldn't corporate be less? We couldn't believe the amount of NOTHING that was added onto the subs too! Meaning the meat or fish! Kids working and they just don't care or understand. Truly insane! Def never ordering from this location again. Never had a problem with JM until this location. Oh, and they really push the tipping too which I feel is truly amazing. They get paid per hour to do a job, and it's probably NOT minimum wage since there are slicers etc there. why do they expect to have a tip? That's up to the customers if they feel outstanding and above and beyond service..... This isn't a sit down service restaurant..... they shouldn't have to feel pressured into it, with tip buckets and the on credit card slips..... It's really SO tacky! The staff is super friendly and helpful and it's always a joy to dine there. The number 13 is great, also the pastrami and cheesesteak are great choices for warm subs. This location is down the street from my job I've passed it many times and never gave it a second thought. I finally got a chance to try it and I was somewhat impressed. Typically I'm not a sub type of person but the Philly cheesesteak sub with the grilled onions was was simply delicious!! I went back on a second visit and ordered a tuna sub and I was less than thrilled. It was flavorless and dry. My husband and son however loved their turkey and cheese subs so what can I say. I'll certainly go back but I think I'll stick with the hot subs instead of the cold ones. The ingredients do taste fresh, fresh, fresh!!! You get what you pay for & you are paying for it here. My first time I did not order large enough - I'd ordered a mini, which I thought would be half a sub (which is what I order from pizzerias; there was no small, or 1/2 option), but I didn't know the small size of their subs. I felt like I'd eaten a finger sandwich! The sub rolls are petite compared to pizza shops & deli's. I'd honestly never seen sub rolls so small before. (And, I'm not a large person, or eater. That friend could have given me a heads-up on that part, but she's about 90 lbs. soaking wet & eats like a bird.) So, now I've got it down: I order 1 Giant + 1 Regular for 2 meals. First time I tried the Grilled Pastrami Rueben. Darn good! Plenty of meat and substance, unlike cheesy Subway, and the taste was fresh and the pastrami lean. I love the service at this location, like most Mike's anyhow, and the location. Only thing that is awkward is the payment process. When they ring you up and have to jump in to remind you that "before you swipe your card, we ask that you consider a satisfaction gratuity (or something like that", you are put on the spot. Management should just up salaries and keep the tip cup for those of us who know and use them. Other than that I love this franchise and am glad to see the recent expansion nationally.
