Worst staff and customer service! I moved into the area about a year ago and I was super excited to see that there was a Jersey Mike's walking distance from my home. On my first visit there where two guys working and they where extremely rude to both my husband and I. They where so rude that we decided to never go back. But today, a year later, I was in a hurry and didn't have time to drive to Subway. So I decided to give Jersey Mike's another try and I'm really sorry I did. They blond guy behind the register spoke to me like I was a child. He was so rude that I didn't even want my sandwich anymore. I just wanted to leave it there at the register because I didn't want to give a cent to this unfriendly establishment. Anyway, I paid for it but I will never go back. I've been in customer service for a decade and I know how hard it is. But your in La Jolla and rent isn't cheap so be nice to your customers! From now on its Subway and only Subway! **Unsanitary & Food safety issues** Came in for a quick sandwich on my break. Walked in and only one guy working the grill. After waiting for about 5 minutes he turns around took an order from a guy behind me and grabs 2 meat patties. He then used the same BLOODY hands to throw away the meat paper and with out skipping a beat grabs onions from the line throws them on the grill. As I watched I prayed he would switch his gloves for my sandwich at least. No. He proceeds to grab bread with the BLOODY gloves and asks me what I want. At this point I couldn't stand watching and asked that he changes his gloves for a new pair. This is is simple food safety. I am a former employee of Jersey Mikes and this is so unacceptable and below standards. Please educate your employees before someone gets seriously sick. I came in during lunch and the line was long but she managed to get everyones order out in no time. She is really efficient at her job. Her energy and smile brightened my day. In the vin past I reviewed my local m Jersey Mike's on Hershel in La Jolla. I praised two young men Anthony and Jimmy who were great and as we came in once every week always remembered our order. Over the past few weeks I noticed the owner interviewing applicants. Sadly every week it's a whole new crew and while they are nice enough I have to repeat my order every time and even then it's wrong and whoever helps me is annoyed that I remind them how I prefer my sandwich. When you train them make them aware that not everyone likes it EXACTLY as described. Next thing you'll have no substitutions or changed to description. So disappointing. read more

Now don't get me wrong here, but I love a great JM sub! I mean a regular #10 mikes way with easy lettuce light relish and make it a combo...fuggedaboutit!!!! But coming here with my friend who has never been here before, I expected maybe a little bit more from the staff. They had just finished up a HUGE order for a catering order and when my friend and I came here, we were excited. She's never had Jersey Mikes, and I was happy to introduce her to that. The staff just happened to be all males who worked. One of them seemed to be on his break but was sitting out in the main dining area and when he went to the back to get something and came back out to sit down, I noticed that his belt was undone. Shirt untucked, and everything shouted, i'm off work, but really, to be in the place you work with your belt undone... buddy this isn't your bedroom. You still represent your brand! Ate at Jersey Mikes for the first time, I will never eat there again. I have to admit the food was good, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. He was incredibly rude to me, and when I asked to speak to the manager, it was him treating me this way. As I was getting my drinks, he (as well as the other employees) continued to berate me. If you're looking to be disappointed, this is a great place to go! I figured this chain couldn't be as bad as Subway, right? Wrong-o! As I entered I made sure to stay out of the roped off line and was pointedly looking at the large, hanging menu to weigh my options. That didn't stop the girl behind the counter from asking me three separate times what sandwich I wanted (not in line? Staring at the giant menu? What's not to understand?). I decided on The Original Italian - a flavourful Italian sub is always a good, safe choice. I watched as they pulled the giant Pink Square out and sliced it (ham?), the Red Square (cappacuolo? prosciuttini?) and the Red and Pink Logs (pepperoni and salami?). It's easily the most unappealing meat I've ever seen - it looks completely over-processed. Just because they slice it in front of you doesn't make it of good quality. I topped off my sandwich with lettuce, onions and pepperoncinis. This all sounds like a very tasty sandwich, many strong flavours battling for dominance in your mouth, right? Hell no. It tasted like I was eating water between two slices of bread (the only thing with flavour). As I suspected, the meats are all overly processed and it completely ruins everything. While Subway sandwiches are quite disgusting at least they have flavour and you can tell what you're eating. I would never eat again at a Jersey Mike's and certainly don't understand the hubbub around them. Find and support your local deli! read more

My out of town guest and I were on our way to Karl Strauss and stumbled upon this Jersey Mike's location. I am a big fan and regular of the two locations in Kearny Mesa and Clairemont. Since I'd mentioned to my guest that we'd have to try this while she was here, we stopped in with high expectations based on visits from other locations. We ordered the #7 with avocado. We saw the Turkey Club special that came with bacon and my guest said she cannot have bacon because she's allergic. The girl was in a hurry or assumed what she thought she heard and they started a sandwich with bacon. That had to be scrapped - no big deal. My primary issue is the ingredient portions: the provolone cheese was tissue paper thin very little lettuce. Lettuce is SO cheap - it's not even the green kind - why not pile it on? the requisite (albeit skimpy 5 (?) slices of tomatoes. They kindly gave us pickles on the side as requested and didn't drown the sandwich with oil and vinegar. We were both disappointed - me especially since I am a fan and raved to my out of town guest. read more

The employees are fast and there's a friendly, high energy flowing between them.. I've never had a bad experience. I've visited during different hours with different employees and the service is consistent. There is the free 20 minute parking in the garage next to the salon if you're not trying to hassle with street parking! read more

I work near this Jersey Mike's location, so I come here often. The guys behind the counter always greet me by name and know my regular order, including what veggies and toppings I want! Im surprised at all the reviews saying they have poor service, because I absolutely disagree. They always make me feel welcome and make my.sandwiches perfectly! The sandwiches themselves are delicious. I usually get a mini Italian or a turkey and provolone sandwich, but more recently I have been experimenting with other kinds. I have not been unhappy with any sandwich I have ever had here , and will continue to eat here! I live in PB, and I like this store much better than the one near my apartment mainly due to the great staff in La Jolla. The location itself has pros and cons, the main con being the lack of free parking, but that's just what you get here in beautiful downtown La Jolla. The inside is clean and well-kept. Kevin and the rest of the brothers have done La Jolla a Great service by bringing Jersey Mikes here. The sandwiches are fresh and awesome. I love the #7 Mikes Way with peppers and extra vinegar sometimes mustard. I have to get my fix every other day it's that good. The meatball and orig Italian are the bomb too. On a side note, they are very generous and give back to students and the community by supporting fundraisers which really help local causes. Keep up the good work and THANKS again boys. read more

Worse customer service in La Jolla. Very inefficient team. One person handles taking orders, making food and charging while 3 other team members handle who knows what in the background. If you haven't been here GO! great subs, on the quality scale with Submarina above and beyond Subway (blah). I usually stick with turkey and provolone or the philly cheese steak depending how heavy I want to go. Both are delicious and go Mikes way on the cold subs with any additions you desire. This is a great spot for a quick bite to eat in the center of La Jolla Village. You can eat inside, out on their patio, or take it with you back to your office, or down by the water. When I first received my free sub card for giving blood at a local event, I was hesitant to go there, because of a bad experience I had with the bread at a Jersey Mike's in Maryland... But one day, with no lunch money, I decided to take a chance, and use this coupon I had. Turns out I absolutely LOVE the California Club, "Mike's Way"! It's a delicious turkey/bacon/avocado sub on the most wonderful sandwich bread this side of Jersey. Being from the East Coast, I also love knowing I can grab a little taste of home with their selection of TastyKakes... :) They also have a club card program where you can earn discounts and free items for your loyalty. The customer service there is consistently friendly and efficient, and the place is always clean and welcoming, and the twins seem to remember all of the locals who frequent this joint, including what their favorite order is! read more

We discovered Jersey Mike's Subs in Honolulu and was pleased to see one in La Jolla. Quality and freshness of sandwiches is always there. Love the pickles. The store is set up for social distancing between ordering and crew. The crew is always enthusiastic and willing to make adaptations e.g. cheese on the side, toast the bread etc. The nice thing about this store is the outside seating with good quality tables and chairs. I clean the table with disinfectant wipes, which is fine with me. In the afternoon, this seating area is shady unlike the restaurant across the street. A pleasant eating experience. read more

I love the sandwiches and usually love the service, but today one of the employees was a tad unacceptable for my standard. Unfortunately, these guys don't wear nametags. So I have to say the guy with short dark hair and facial hair (describes 3 of the guys working there) was upset that my friend changed her bread choice and "flung" the unused bread. He had not started dressing the sandwich yet. I think his reaction was not appropriate. Please do us a favor and ask the employees to wear nametags. I want to be able to tell you who is doing a great job, and if needed, who needs to step it up. it was a busy time of day and everyone was working as quickly as possible. Went to Jersey Mike's at the request of a friend to try. The tables were not very clean, the prices are a bit high (compared to places like Subway), and when ordering our items (and showing them the coupon we wanted to use) they would not honor their coupon (nor try to reduce the cost to off set the coupon). Two Sandwiches, three sodas and the total was $33.00. The sandwiches were not all that special and a bit bland. I would not recommend this place to my friends because the quality of food and the high cost. Go to Subway and get the same quality at a much lower cost. read more

So I've been hoarding this review and picture for a while now, since I frequent this JM because I work in the area! But I'm done with this place. The service used to be good but those triplet brothers have gotten worse. I went there a couple months ago for breakfast and I got a sandwich and it was bomb but in the middle of eating it I found a thick hair cooked in my egg. I saw the guy (he wasn't one of the owners) making it and he wasn't wearing a hair net. So I went back at lunch to get my money back they weren't even sorry one of the triplet guys gave me an attitude. I was even discrete and went to the back so other customers wouldn't hear. Didn't even give me something for free for next time. All they offered was to make me something new, I had to beg for my money back. I decided to still be nice and not post it. But I feel every time I go there now they are rude and cheap with their meat. They put like two thin slices of meat on my sub so I asked for two more slices and they charged me $2.00 extra!!!! That bread is so thick so two thin slices isn't enough. I've been to other Jersey Mikes and they make sure you have meat on there even when I ask for more meat other franchises never charge extra, especially for 2 thin slices! I kept trying to give this place a chance. Jersey mikes is good but I love the ones in mission valley! Awesome customer service and they aren't cheap. I've been to this one in la jolla like 10 times but they will no longer get my money. read more

Saw the ad in the La Jolla Light and I had a coupon. Went on 1-15-2012 at 5:30pm. I was met at the door and told "We don't open until Wednesday...it's our grand opening." He proceeded to offer me a coupon...I told him that their web site indicated the La Jolla location was open. His partner said something to him...and the door was closed in my face. Corporately, this location is owned by the Kenny Brothers. Not sure which one is the rudest...but, from now on I remain faithful to Pizza on Pearl...great sandwiches and pizza and truly good and considerate service. Life is too short and there are too many good places to waste my time and money on a mediocre sandwich and rude behavior. read more

Usually easy with good food. Today, along with many other kids, food ordered and paid for wasn't delivered. When I called the store I was put on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back, and went to voicemail...for a sandwich shop. I called a third time, put on hold for 6 minutes. Finally called back and got the "manager" Jimmy. I conveyed my concerns that they failed to deliver food that was paid for. The response was that they would deliver the food soon...20 minutes after lunch was over and kids were back in class! I had to ask for a refund when they didn't offer! The "manager" obviously could care less that my kid and others went hungry. No big deal to them I guess! Terrible customer service and no culpability. I am NOT giving them business anymore that's for sure. There's plenty of other choices in the village. A sad sandwich shop in my eyes. The service was great, but the chicken Caesar wrap I ordered was HORRIBLE. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery, very little lettuce and DRENCHED in dressing and Parmesan. I frequent Jersey Mikes, but I've never had the extra touch like I did at this La Jolla location. Not expecting friendly really anywhere there especially while wearing a KISS t-shirt as I was in the area for a book signing with Paul Stanley. I was certainly feeling a little "fish out of water" there, but the guys who are brothers that own this store made me feel right at home. One said he liked my shirt which opened up the conversation, then another ask what KISS song I wanted to hear. KISS music played during my yummy lunch of an Italian sub.
