I recently visited Jersey Mike's for the first time, and as a chef who cooks and caters regularly, dining out is truly a treat for me. I typically don't eat out often, as the experience doesn't always meet expectations. However, after a very long week at work, my husband suggested we head to the Midland area and try somewhere new. We happened to come across Jersey Mike's, and I'm so glad we did. Drew and Glenn were the only two employees working at the time, and they provided outstanding service. My husband ordered the tuna sub, and I had the chicken Philly--both were well worth the price. The ambiance was welcoming, the music was enjoyable, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. I will absolutely be sharing this experience with family and friends and will continue recommending this location. It is truly worth the drive and the cost, and I highly recommend asking for Drew and Glenn. I ordered a giant jerseyshore, and a regular turkey!!! There's was soooo much mayo on my turkey it's looked like they literally put the while bottle and on the giant the bread was saturated with oil!!! DO NOT GO TO JERSEY MIKES IN ELLENWOOD! I'M WARNING YOU! No sense in spending your hard earned money at this location. No customer service at ALL. NEVER GOING BACK! Oh and when I went to take them back the put vinegar in my turkey and I told them I didn't want vinegar than they couldn't wrap up the giant and had the nerves to ask me if I wanted to wrap it myself! This is the second time I've been into this location and it has always it has been awful experience this time because I asked the young lady if she was going to ask me for my toppings because she continue to wrap myself. She said that she's not obligated to ask me for toppings what toppings I want on a hot sub and I told her I have never heard of that and I won't return and she said that's fine and continued on. read more

Horrible experience!! I came in at 8:30pm 7/31/24 to order 2 sandwiches, and the person who was working there was RUDE! Refused to make eye contact with me. Was acting upset that I came in so close to closing. I asked for 2 #7's with lettuce and tomatoes. But instead slapped mayo and onions on my sandwich. I know I should have insisted on my sandwich being made properly but I am not confrontational but I will NEVER come back to Jersey Mike's because without customers this business is not successful and the employees you hire should be well aware of it. Ok. So ... I ventured back in today. And I'd have to rate them between 4 - 4 .5 stars. The same dude from last night was still working - being a rockstar - answering phones, handling the register, making sandwiches and hustling food out to waiting cars. There were two other dudes working (one guy was was also making sando's and the other was working the flat top with great mastery). The restaurant was EXTREMELY busy, and all employees were polite. Restaurant was clean. They also offer wraps and subs in a tub (aka subs without the bread for all my keto-ians). So why 4 - 4.5 stars? Unsure if these are location-specific or Jersey Mike's general franchise issues: a) Even though pandemic cases are ramping up AND we're in the middle of cold & flu season, staff doesn't wear masks here. I'm not super-militant when it comes to pandemic stuff, but I do believe folks working in food service (since they're breathing over your food) should wear masks. See also Item (b) below. b) The Jersey Mike's signage and cup placement could use some tweaking. Ok. So while waiting to place my order, I was doing 6 ft social distancing, there was a female customer standing in front of the veggie toppings area. She was standing with hands on her hips scowling at the veggies, employees and customers. She kept fidgeting with her mouth and nose and back pocket. And then, when she asked the employee about drinks, she actually took her filthy hand and pointed to cups and touched one of the stacked cups. ARGH. Right on the rim of the cup. I'm not sure why she felt the need to touch the cups (like a freakin' toddler). But as someone who can't use drinking straws due to a medical issue, I have to put my lips on a cup to drink. So it drives me crazy when people put their hands where I ultimately have to put my lips. (Some servers hold the cup this way.) Jersey Mikes - please, move those cups behind the register. Or somewhere out of customers' reach. When I was asked what I wanted to order, I said I wanted a philly cheese steak. The employee said, "So you want a #17. Do you want everything - onions, peppers?" I asked if they were bell peppers or jalapeno peppers. He advised that they were 'sweet peppers.' I told him No peppers, and I added mushrooms. (I didn't discover until later tonight when I went to the website hours later, that they, do in fact, have green bell peppers.) ARGH. While in the car I realized they use white American cheese and not provolone. Double ARGH. Since you can't see the topping offerings unless your standing in front of them (and I couldn't see thanks to Miss Cup Toucher), it would be great if the signage listed 1) all the available toppings and 2) all the types of bread and 3) all the types of cheeses. c) The Jersey Mike's app is pretty awful. Once I realized my sandwich had white American cheese instead of provolone, I decided to order another sandwich using the phone app whilst still in the parking lot. I figured I would give the white American version to my booski. When I tried to order my sandwich on the phone app, I discovered that there does not appear to be a way to build a sandwich 'from scratch.' The system forces you to pick one of their sandwiches, then customize it. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the cheese type on #17. There is a place for special Notes. But each time I tried to type stuff in that field, I kept getting red text warning telling me to use the checkboxes to modify / customize, yet there was no checkbox for what I was trying to do. Unless I overlooked it, there was no way to add anything but bacon, extra cheese and mushrooms (they charge mushrooms btw). You cannot add lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc. to #17. Not that I would want that on my Philly - lol - but kinda odd not to have the option. I wound up going BACK inside to place a new order. The employee handled the situation very graciously and professionally. On a final note, I saw an employee forget to discard his gloves after taking food outside. During his rush to assist customers, after one of his trips, he came straight back behind the counter and started handling bread. The next time he ventured out, I watched him trash the gloves upon his return. And the third time, he trashed them, so the one time I witnessed was clearly a mistake. People are human and make mistakes, but I was SO glad that he realized his error because I was really nervous that I was going to have to ask him to change the gloves before he made my sandwich. Overall - I had a good visit and would go back, but I wish the app allowed for more customization so that I could place an online order. App says they have white, wheat, rosemary parmesan and Udi's gluten free bread. Reddit says they have Swiss, provolone & white American cheese. Looks like no cheddar or yellow American. Reddit also says they have bacon (upcharge), portabella mushrooms (upcharge), green peppers, red/green pepper strips, jalapeños, onions, lettuce, tomatoes. read more

Okay, here goes... About six weeks ago I gave this business a really good review. But, after a couple of nights ago I have totally changed my mind!!! Well, it goes like this... I ordered online at about 8:25pm. Then, knowing that they closed at 9:00pm, I really didn't think much about my order. However, when I checked in at 8:40pm the proprietor said that in the future I should order by 8:00pm so that they wouldn't be rushed close to closing time. Well, after he got onto me, I told him "no problem". Then, after thinking about it I came to realize that who is the customer here? And, especially with him being the proprietor I thought what an awful thing to say to a very regular customer. So, now I have decided to NEVER go back there, or for that matter any business that treats its customers with such callous disrespect!!! He should just wake up and realize that he is not more important than the customer. Oh well, I guess that if he treats enough customers like that then he will find himself at least short of people coming in there. And, if he continues to treat his customers something like that, he will find himself out of business. read more

Love jersey mikes and the 2 guys that usually work during the week days, but the ladies that work on the weekend always make mw feel like it's a huge inconvenience to make my sub. They are always out of rosemary bread on the weekends.
