The ambiance was as expected, a few tables, a neighborhood vibe, family friendly on a Sunday. No wait staff, but the cashier will bring your food to the table after ordered at the register and paid. He did give me untrue information. I think it was lack of product knowledge. I wanted the beef dish, not spicy. He told me it's only as spicy as cumin. Cumin isn't spicy though. Nevertheless, I got it to go for my mom. It was definitely hella spicy. I would definitely recommend and go back, only for the homemade dumplings which are rare for the Atlanta area. Most Asian places have the same frozen dumplings/gyoza/potstickers from Sysco food distributor. I miss homemade dumplings like in Chicago (home). Try is if you like dumplings! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our visit to Handmade Dumplings and Noodles and will definitely return! The inside is counter service with 6 tables and the staff is very friendly and helpful when deciding what to eat. The inside also has a really impressive mural on the wall. The service was quick and the food was fairly priced. The food was largely tasty. To start with the best part, I had the sesame chicken and it was very sweet which I really liked. We also shared the pork dumplings which we enjoyed, but we might try out a different type of dumplings next time. I also tried the pork burger which had really good meat, and in the future I'll try to see if anything can be added to boost the flavor a little bit. My girlfriend has the chicken fried rice which she enjoyed but said would benefit from just a little more flavor. Also, I don't like that much sauce on my Dan Dan noodle dish - it was still tasty, not very spicy. The dumplings were good, not great. Like another reviewer said, I would not rush back there. Delicious handmade dumplings in Cobb! Yes, they actually hand make the dumplings in house. I got 2 different dumplings steamed and fried as well as the dan Dan noodles. Each table has soy sauce, dumpling sauce and chili oil. The dumplings were hot and fresh, the Dan Dan noodles were packed with flavor. Visited on our way through town based on other reviews and it did NOT disappoint. Our pan fried dumplings were perfectly cooked with a chewy top and crispy bottom and were made by hand while we watched. The dumpling sauce was also made to order! Again, the best Dan Dan noodles and steamed dumplings I've ever had!!! The portions are huge (10 dumplings for $10.95!) and the noodles are enough for two to share (or 3!) Seating is limited so we always pick up to eat at home. It's a 20 minute drive for us but totally worth it. Service is fast and efficient, and tables to turn quickly if you want to eat in. FOOD: Cumin Beef Grandma Noodles ($13.95) - The cumin flavor makes the beef feel like lamb and the noodles were coated very well in the sauce. It says there was numbing pepper in the dish, but I couldn't really taste it. Shrimp Lo Mein ($14.95) - Lo Mein was very good and also coated very well in the sauce. We enjoyed that is wasn't too salty. It pairs well with the chili sauce at the tables! Don't get me wrong, their fried rice is delicious and umami-rich with black bean goodness. And the proteins are plentiful. But Grandma's noodles are chewy, a beautiful thick cut, coated in sauce, paired with fresh vegetables and don't sit heavy in your stomach after eating like a glutton. Their handmade dumplings (as the name suggests) are the quiet luxury purse with fan-folded pleats that we are meant to display to all others. I didn't know what filling to enjoy and the young man behind the counter was very helpful in not only guiding us but also delivered our meals to our table. There is dumpling sauce at each table but really they didn't need them. Each dumpling had the perfect filling-to-dumpling ratio with a little broth in them, making them juicy, tender and flavorful. Staff/To Go: Takeout lids and containers/bags are available if you don't finish and the staff is great about sharing local recs for other fare. The atmosphere is almost like a quick serve spot with to-go lids by the door, but the don't let that fool you. The Dan Dan noodles were tasty and it was a pretty large serving. Texture of the noodles was nice and they tasted fresh. The menu says they are spicy but I found it pretty mild. If heat is not your thing, it's probably fine. I'd say it was a 2 on a scale of 10. I prefer something more like a 6 to 8 so I would just ask for it to be spicier next time. If were to go there by myself, I would probably just get an order of the dumplings. An order contains 10 dumplings which was more filling than a mere appetizer. It was also a really reasonable price for the quality and quantity of food you get. Really tasty filling, but the taste and texture of the dumpling dough was the standout for me. I went with the pan fried version which gave them a nice golden crisp on one side as you can see from the picture. If you are in the Marietta area, I would give it a shot. I'll likely be back. I saw a picture of the grandma's cumin beef noodles and it drew me in. But note that the actual dish looks quite different. The picture shows minced beef, some cilantro, and wide noodles. What they actually have is beef pieces/slices, no greens at all, and a mix of sprouts/cabbage with knife cut noodles (wavy, thick). Now, it tasted pretty good and piping hot, for being served in a compostable bowl. But I was slightly surprised when it came out; expected more of an even distribution of veggies. However, if you like straight up meat and carbs, this is your place. The dumplings were also great; I personally liked the chicken, corn, and water chestnut one. Because it was a bit different. Would I go again? Yea...just to try out the dandan noodles maybe. I hope they can make their cumin beef noodles look like the picture.... We also had sesame chicken 10/10 with the vegetable fried rice also 10/10. Flavors were really on point. Lastly, we ordered the Dan Dan Noodles. This was definitely too much food for our group of 4, and I would say we would order another sesame chicken and skip the noodles, they had flavor, but still felt a little bland and to me had a weird texture. Dumplings pan fried were very good with a bit of soup inside. The ones with hot chili oil was diff than expected but not in a bad way. Garlic string beans were a big surprise and addictively good. Grandmas cumin beef was a giant portion, incredibly satisfying and just as good in leftover form. The pork burger was probably the most meh thing we had but still had good flavor. Needless to say, I took advantage of the to-go covers at the self-service station by the door to take the leftovers home to my wife. The noodle dish is a medium spicy level and was full of meat. It came out quickly despite both dishes being cooked fresh, with the pan fried dumplings taking just a little bit longer. The table has soy, dumpling, and chili oil sauces. The self service station has bowls to dispense said sauces as well as lids, cups, chopsticks, and plastic service. There are no fountain drinks so I bought a couple of bottled soft drinks since I wanted one for the long drive home. I was in East Cobb and tried this new business and am so pleased that I gave them a try. Handmade Dumplings and Noodles is located in a Publix shopping center and provides plenty of free parking. Upon entry, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. I informed the staff that it was my first visit and they eagerly answered my questions about the menu options. I ordered the Lo Mein with chicken (there are several protein options (beef, shrimp, etc.) that can be added to most of their dishes. The restaurant is in a narrow suite in this shopping center and has several 4-top tables at the front with the kitchen and food preparation areas in the back. I placed the order at a counter and my meal was delivered to my table by the staff. Several mobile orders were picked up by delivery services when I was dining here. My Lo Mein was delicious and the portion was huge. I enjoy spicy Lo Mein and this was fairly mild but I blended in some chili sauce that was table side to spice up my dish. As I was leaving, the staff asked if I enjoyed my Lo Mein and were super outgoing and friendly! I will definitely return to try their dumplings. Ya'll better come here because if it closes I'm going to be very mad. This was phenomenal. I can't express how good it actually is. I got the Dan Dan Noodles. The braised prok was wonderful. It was small diced pork with lots of sauce. The sauce was thick and you get lots of spices and with a good amount of salty unami. The noodles had that authentic firm and springy texture that Asian noodles have. It's not as starchy as Italian noodles and gives a smoother taste. The wheat flour or whatever it is gives a more nutty flavor to the kindles rather than silky buttery in Italian noodles. It just makes for a more hearty dish. The real advantage of the saucy small diced pork is you can mix it with the noodles and the overall mixed dish is just amazing. You get all the flavors together and it's just perfect. Also all the workers are super nice and up beat. I also love that right in the front they are actually hand making dumplings. I can't wait to come back and have those. read more

We've visited this restaurant a few times now, and while it's a bit of a mixed bag for us, it definitely has its highlights--especially if you're dining with kids.
