While the worker was making my sub, they dropped the large chunk of meat on the ground while slicing. The work took the meat into the back when the manager raced back there as well. A few moments later they both come back out with the same chunk of meat soaking wet and proceed to slice it up and put it on my sandwich. When I commented on what happened, they tried to say it was new chunk of meat. When I pointed out that it was obviously not and the meat was soaking wet, they couldn't say a word because I caught them red handed. This manager needs to be immediately fired. So this is my very first time coming to a Jersey Mike's Subs. No real reason. I love a good sub. I'm so happy I finally got to try them out! It was exactly what we needed! I ordered a mini original Italian. I exchanged the provolone with white American cheese. I asked for lettuce, tomato, mayo, spices, and oil and vinegar. It was delicious. The bread was oooooh so fresh and a good portion of meats. I can't help but compare to other sub-shops where you can pick from a lot more toppings. Jersey Mike's subs are so much better than Subway. They are not skimpy on the meat and their toppings do not make their bread soggy, so you don't have to get the bread toasted to enjoy your sandwich (No shade to subway because I will still crush a sandwich from there.); furthermore, Jerysey Mike's Turkey Sandwich just cannot be beat when it comes to other chain deli's in the area. I was sad when the Ghent location shut down because they used to provide catering at my job one day out of Teacher Service Week before school started and Teacher Appreciation Week towards the end of the school year and I always looked forward to it; however, this new location is a lot closer to where I live, so the love is not entirely lost. I went here because I was waiting for my appointment at the Hair Cuttery, 2 doors over. I'm convinced that Jersey Mike's just recently added hot subs to the menu. I say that because they clearly don't have it down to a science yet. I literally left without my food because the cook at the stove was cooking like it was her first day ever cooking. This store wasn't busy, there were 2 customers before me, and a total of 3 sandwiches. One lady ordered 2 hot subs, and a guy ordered 1 cold sub. 25 mins later she was just starting to make my sub. I abruptly said "DON'T MAKE THAT, DON'T MAKE THAT! I told the cashier "she's taking way too long, and I have an appointment next door. I can't wait another 15min for this sandwich. I would like my money back". They both stopped and just starred... the customer with the hot subs before me shook her head and says... "omg yes". Then the cashier looks at me and says, "um I don't know how to do a refund, the manager just left". I said well I have to go to this appointment next door, I can't wait for this. She then says to me, just come back after your appointment. 2hrs later I go back and a guy says, you went to get your hair done, I'll work on your sandwich right now. It literally took him 5mins. Really an overall terrible experience. Workers seemed annoyed that we were there. My cheesesteak turned out a disaster - completely torn up and messy (see pics). Couldn't eat without knife and fork. We were looking for something quick and decided to give this restaurant a try. I had the itialian sandwich with the works. It was very delicious. The hubby had a hot sandwich, the philly steak and cheese. It looked so tasty I had a couple of big bites of his sandwich. The sandwiches are made right in front of you. But the best part is, they slice the meats fresh for each sandwich. The staff was so fast. But to be fair there was only one other customer inside. The app makes it super simple to order. However when you arrive at the store to pick up is where the issues start. I ordered a tub, with brown mustard, mayo. I got Yellow mustard, no mayo, no oil and vinegar. Then I go to grab a fork, and theyre out of forks. With a Sam's club next door, how can you be out of forks? Jersey Mikes is OK not outstanding or great for that matter. for the price the hoagies are lacking in substance- plenty of veggie filling with little meat for the money - 3 large hoagies $50.00.
