Jersey Mike's reminds me of my youth when my uncle took me for my first submarine sandwich in New Jersey. Was in the 1960's. Today this place has great sandwiches and fast service. Meat and cheese is sliced fresh to order right onto your sandwich. My go to is usually the #7 Turkey and Provolone and that is what I got on this visit. Upon arrival, I noticed my order was on the side, and no one greeted me. Granted, there were other customers in line and waiting. I thought I would have been asked if I had a call-in while they simultaneously worked on other orders. One person cashed a customer out and never looked my way while I stood by the rack where the bag should have been so I could get my order and leave. But no. I waited until someone felt like they wanted to ask if I had a call-in order. By this time, after waiting 5-6 minutes, I was highly irritated because they had multitasking issues. First time ever coming to a Jersey Mike's in my life. I've been hesitant about wanting to try this place out for years but been pushing it aside on my bucket list. Finally came here after a day at the office. There's so much to choose on the menu which looked really appetizing. After a couple minutes I finally settled on something and got myself a number 7. I took my first bite and wow! This sub was the most phenomenal thing I've probably had all year. I almost couldn't finish it and it was a regular sized sandwich. It's hard for me to try something new but this was definitely worth it. The staff was really friendly, courteous and prompt. The restaurant was clean as well. Definitely liked the atmosphere of the place as well as the abundance of parking . Now I'm used to eating subway and Coming here blew my expectations out of the water. I happened to come into the Orland Park location on Lagrange Rd as they were doing some training from what looked like upper management and corporate. Extremely impressed by how invested they were in their employees and how they took the time to train them the proper way down to how you spread onions on the subs. Not sure what is going on at this location but management may want to review their team here. When I walked in last night they had a line of people waiting and In the background the employees were playing music with profanities. After about the 3rd "f#%ck" they shut it off. Once our order was taken, I counted four people who handled our sandwiches before they were wrapped. Even the cashier came over and lifted the bread off the top of the sandwiches to determine what we ordered. Ultimately the sandwiches were made very hastily and they were sloppy. It's not a good place if you want wraps. I come here at least once a week for my turkey wrap and it ends up being cut so badly. I think I'll just go to the New Lenox location for now on, maybe they won't cut my wraps completely diagonally like a goddamn triangle. After passing up dozens of options for lunch, my family and I decided to try Jersey Mikes. To be honest, we are not big fans of sub sandwiches. But we wanted to grab a cold lunch, beverages and go to a local park to eat outside. I was hoping to get a lettuce wrap, everyone else wanted a sub sandwich. I was told that lettuce wraps were not available but a very helpful employee (Niko) talked me into trying a salad. I was very impressed with the amount of meat/cheese little pinwheels (full of flavor), beautifully placed on top of lettuce, tomato, onion and mild peppers. Topped off with ranch dressing, and Italian seasoning. The salad was light, yet very filling. I filled my to go cup with an Arnold Palmer (unsweetened iced tea, and a splash of lemonade), while my son was happy to see Cream Soda in the dispenser. I love Jersey Mike's. If you sign up for their E club, you get a free regular sub and a drink for your birthday. Today I went in there and ordered a regular chicken bacon ranch toasted sub which was absolutely delicious. This was my second time having this particular sub and it just tastes better and better each time. The girls that were working were extremely friendly and also quick. I bought a sandwich in which the girl told me that if I didn't like a certain spread on the sandwich I can take it back and get a refund if I didn't like it. I didn't like it so I called the manager on duty wrote my name down and he told me that it would be taken care of within a week. A week later I went to pick up my sandwich and nobody had any recollection of me asking for a refund. Want to commend the staff that was working on Christmas Eve as the manager did a great job navigating the amount of people coming in for sandwiches. Not a deal breaker, but JM's needs to look at reducing the size of the bread in relation to the amount of meat. You could cut the bread size by 25% and still have a good sandwich to serve. As most places that have that big of a bread loaf stack more meat in the sandwich. I'll be back soon ! read more

As a Jersey Girl, I have been a fan for a while. Was so glad they were here in Illinois! Fresh sliced cold cuts and the smell of the oil and vinegar hits your nostrils as soon as you enter. Smells like home!! My husband has been converted from his regular sandwich go to. One good thing to note is he takes his lunch on the road and this sandwich (minus the condiments) keeps well in his lunch box. He just adds the mustard and he is good to go! The prices are a little steep but that is maybe because they fly in that great Jersey bread. The prices are steadily climbing back home so maybe not?! I walked in today on my lunch break and was kind of taken aback. Everyone was saying hi to me and talking to me like they were actually genuine people. I'm used to people faking it, but they seem to have really hired some good people. About 3 people said hi to me and started chatting it up about my job. The girl who made the sandwich told me about her favorites and even told me to have it the Jersey Mike's way. Then she sliced the cheese and meat right there. The food was good, but the service was just as good, which is really rare. I'd like to give tons of kudos to this place for doing it right. You want a great sandwich come here. It really doesn't get any better. From the bread to the meat to the awesome pepper relish, everything is so good! Mike's way is the only way to go! My five year old daughter loves this place too and asks to come here all the time. She loves her kids sub with turkey, provolone, and lettuce. That's her way. I have had the Italian, turkey, roast beef and Tuna all Mike's way on wheat and they are all excellent. Place is clean, friendly, and busy. Out of all the sub places in the area, I'd have to say, Jersey Mike's has got to be one of the best. I usually get a roast beef Mike's way minus onions, add mayo, pickle & the red pepper relish stuff (awesome). One of the guys in there is really personable and always creates pleasant conversation while my sub is being made. One time while waiting in line, he gave us a small sample of meat to try, which was cool. Hat's off to you, good sir. If this place was a couple dollars cheaper, I'd say it would be my go-to sub spot and earn a full 5 stars. Everything is of good quality here, the cold cuts, lettuce, onions, tomatoes & all the other trimmings. Always fresh, & the breads are fantastic, just the right size to hold everything inside without falling out. These subs are nothing like subway's. When you bite into a Jersey Mike's sub you get a mouthful! When you take a bite of subways you get a lot of air, a lot of Lettuce ,etc. And maybe a thin slice or two of a meat. ( not a good quality either). BIG DIFFERENCE ! How ever you want your sub, you'll get it...any combination you want or you can pick off the menu, which has a big Selection. Take one of the take out menus for next time you'll be glad you did, cause you will go back soon. Just writing about these subs are making me crave one. This is my go to sandwich shop. I love how the meat and cheese are sliced to order and how friendly the staff is. I lived in Philadelphia for a couple of years and was introduced to cherry peppers, which are a regional favorite. Since then I have missed being able to get cherry pepper relish on sandwiches. I love the turkey and provolone sub I get everything on it and really love the red relish. My experience is based on the staff. The young girl who served me was more concerned with a catering order and basically ignored me. When she finally did prepare my sandwich she put one side of my bread near the cash register with no paper or anything just bare bread on the counter. I've been here 100 times they always stay within the area where condiments are so I was extremely disgusted to see her do this. When I asked why she put it over there mind you I was the only customer in the store not like they were crowded with no room her response was always do this. That's a lie.
