Typical of most Jersey Mike's franchises. Friendly staff, consistent food. I ordered a half a #6 with the female slicer but then realized that I had to say "regular" since that's how Jersey Mike's does it. (Most sub shops in NJ either have a half or a whole sub which is what Mike's used to do before they went nationwide.) She was stumped by the half sub order. I told her I grew up in the Point Pleasant, NJ area and that I'm just used to ordering subs that way and that this was my first time at this location. I also said that I will write a review based on my experience and that I will be demanding because I know what to expect from a JM location. She barely even acknowledged what I said. Would have been nice to get a little interaction with her to create a rapport with me as a customer who grew up with and swears by Jersey Mike's. Anyway, the sub was good and as expected. Every time I have been here it's been under staffed and they don't have all of the necessary things. They're always out of certain breads. I ordered a club sandwich and at the end of the making of the sandwich they had old gross lettuce and tomatoes and no bacon, even though I ordered a club which has bacon. I placed an order online for this location on June 30. I ordered two sandwiches because my husband and I both work in close proximity so on Fridays I drop him off lunch. When you order online they ask for a name for each order. Here is what went wrong: 1. Sandwiches had wrong names so he got mine and I got his. 2. Both orders were wrong, both were supposed to have oil and vinegar and only one sandwich had oil and vinegar. The one my husband ended up with had no mayo, no oil/vinegar. Not what we ordered. 3. The sandwich that had oil and vinegar had so much that the bread was so soggy I could not pick it up. It was pretty gross. I called the store and talked to a manager and was told this is normal and to ask for the oil and vinegar on the side. So it's normal to send out a sandwich so soggy the bottom bread disintegrates? He also said he was going to refund my order because of all of the problems and he never did. Very unfortunate. Probably won't go back because I don't have time to deal with wrong orders and soggy food. If you are going to take online orders you really need to make the effort to make sure they are done correctly. People are paying with their hard earned money for your product. read more

This was my first experience with Jersey Mike's. Boyfriend ordered the Italian cold sub. We received his sub super fast. I ordered the kahuna (cheesesteak, cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos, peppers and onions). By the time I got my sub, bf was already done his sub. That was the only drawback. My sampling of the menu is limited, as I tried the #56 "The Big Kahuna Cheese Steak." While I have never been to Philly and enjoyed an actual Cheese Steak, I do enjoy ordering them locally for now. So if you have had one from Philly, please move along, because I am sure that you won't agree with my review of this one. First of all, a regular sized sandwich is plenty of food, almost too much at times. The normal menu listing for this sandwich has grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and melted white American cheese. I always order it with provolone and add mayo. This sandwich is delicious, so full of flavor and the kind of juicy that gets all over your fingers and drips into the paper it comes in. The veggies are frilled to perfection, and the cheese is always melted perfectly. The people that work here are always friendly and eager to help you. The place is usually very clean, but I have been here during a rush when they were falling behind clearing tables, so that they could get orders filled. However, if asked, they would rush out and clean places to sit and eat. read more

I get treated poorly every time I come here. I work in the area and have tried 3 times. I have a hearing condition and one guy screams at you if you can't answer fast enough. Just had this place for the first time tonight because I had a coupon for a free sub if I donated $1 to Damonte Ranch high school. I should have listened to my friends and not go. First of all their options of what to put on your sandwich are very limited. They don't even have avocado wtf. Second of all the girl who made my sandwich drenched my sandwich in oil and vinegar. And I mean drenched. My sandwich was soggy and very salty. Not good at all. I will add a picture of what all the oil and vinegar did to my sweater. So I decided to give the turkey to my dog. My dog had one bite and hate it. It says a lot if even a dog won't eat it. I do not recommend coming to this sandwich place. Port of Subs is the best sub place. read more

I first tried Jersey Mike's in Santa Clara with my son about four or five years ago - it was amazing and I emailed corporate and begged them to come to Reno. I was super happy when Jersey Mike's came to Reno on South Virginia BUT I have to say that this location on S. Meadows Parkway is the BEST JERSEY MIKES I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I met the owner on the day of the Grand Opening - super cool dude. The staff seems super happy to work there - they have that assembly line dialed in like pro's. The food it always wonderful and the environment makes a depressing day happy. Prices are great and you get a free cookie if it's your first time in - that's pretty sweet. read more

First time, id ever tried Jersey Mikes. First impression, little shop, neat decore. In line to order my sandwich, just turkey ham and cheese pretty simple. Had to request both pieces of bread get mustard and mayo. Ask yourself this, when youre home making a sandwich, do you put mayo and or mustard on both pieces of bread or just the top. Eating my sandwich inside, they have a cracked out looking employee who i gather has showed up a good 15 mins before shift but is acting like a tweaker, hair is all frazzled, her uniform is dirty as all get up and shes walking around the sandwich shop like a chicken with her head cut off. First time at Jersey Mike's and was excited to give them a try since it was another option close to work. I was in on the first week they were open. There was two people there that you could tell were people that has been with the company for a while just the way they were moving around. So much so that they were then as times seemed to be getting in the way of the obviously new employees. I understand that if one of the signatures of the place is speed, but as the customer it seemed a bit weird they were helping the other employees more so they could learn. When I got the food it wasn't quite what I had expected. Even though I had watched them fresh slice everything the sandwich tasted like something that was sliced and shipped to the store. Not sure exactly how to explain it other than that. Definitely worth going across the street to get to Port of Subs. read more

My daughter & I checked out JM's on South Meadows today for lunch. All I can say is it's average. I had the hot pastrami rueben. It had a good amount of meat on it, sauerkraut was fried which I did not like, and bread was soggy. The bread is flavorless and could have used some toasting on the inside to prevent sogginess. My daughter had the cold roast beef, she said it was not good. Almost no meat on her sandwich; no flavor to the roast beef. We have been fans of Jersey Mike's since they first opened in South Reno, averaging 2-3 visits per month and giving heartfelt recommendations to all of our friends, BUT on our visit tonight we got 2 regular subs (#6's) and got half of the meat we are used to getting on each. I don't know whether store guidelines for food portions have been modified (the price has also increased!) but I can assure you we will looking at other options in the future. I've been here several times, and every time, something is wrong. Trying to pick up dinner for my family has been a major mess on two occasions-- the first time, we ordered online and the second time I decided to just walk in and order. The first time, I waited 30 minutes for my sandwiches to be made that I ordered online that should have been ready by the time I got there. They didn't have any lettuce, and I had to wait for them to cut a new head of lettuce to put on our sandwiches. The employees kept blaming it on another employee that had been there earlier, and it was very unprofessional and irritating. The second time, when I walked in, there was a paper on the door that said, "We are out of bread. We can make wraps only. Thx Meg." A sub shop with no bread? While I was in there, 3 people walked in and left without ordering anything. I am disappointed because their subs are good but I have a bad experience every time I go in. read more

This was our favorite sandwich spot. Until today. The larger man with dark hair and mustache was checking out people and taking payments. He was using the same gloves to touch and wrap sandwiches as he did with taking money and touching the computer. I brought it to his attention when we got up to pay and he denied it...said he was very good about that...however we just watched him do it with all the people before us...at least 4 to 5 transactions. Had to stay late at work so we decided to get dinner for the crew. Crew decide to go for some yummy jersey mikes at the s. Meadow location. This was to go so the team can keep on working. Arrive at the place, one person ahead. When it was time to order, not one but two crew members stated that if any other customers come in, they will be in front of my order. Additionally told that I should call in the morning to order ahead..... make me think I should not bother with this establishment if in a crunch time for the team. This was for 11 subs. (6 #7 with provolone, 5 # 56 with mayo and provolone). It would seem they had 4 team members, it was around 5:45pm. Do like the subs, but if I can't get something good for the crew, who is staying overtime, and be treated as bother rather than be thankful for the business, then why bother with Jersey Mike's. I do know that other local establishments would be grateful for the business. 6:14 food was ready. Was pleasantly surprised, only a few people came in after I had put in the order. Standing in line with many people waiting to order a sandwich, and 1 of the employees sits down and takes his lunch!! What ever happened to the customer first??? I understand there is s need for a break, but not as the line continues to grow. Shame on the employee and shame on the management for allowing this to happen. Too bad the sandwiches are decent!! First time in a Jersey Mike's! Because this location is new in South Reno it was quite busy. I ordered the #11 it came with provolone, ham, and salami. It was a little loud innthe store because of all the people but the line moved very quickly. I got my sandwich Mike's way (tomato, onion, lettuce, olive oil, redwine vibegar, and oregano) I also added jalapenos and pickles. The sandwich was really good, I did wish that they added mayo and mustard but it was so fast paced that I kind of forgot to ask until I already had my sandwich. I'll return and hopefully next time I pick a slower day where I have more time to read the menu. read more

Came here on a Friday early to mid-afternoon. Mind you, a busy time. First time trying Jersey Mike's. There seemed to be no manager on deck to diffuse any situations. A gentleman in front of us was waiting almost as long as my boyfriend and I (nearly 20 minutes). My boyfriend ordered a #7, cold turkey sandwich, around 15"? I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. I'm assuming the gentleman in front of us ordered a sandwich that required the meat to be cooked/heated up or maybe even a wrap? The guy in front of us ended up paying for his sandwich, asked some of the workers if his sandwich was about ready, didn't like the answer of the employee and walked out foodless after already paying, without his sandwich even being assembled. The payment process seemed all over the place and honestly offensive. Took our order, hand written, that's fine. Gave it to us to hold in line, only to pay down the line and stand around after he asked us if we wanted our order slip to be thrown away. Pointless and awkward. Continued to wait for my wrap, saw that the guy on the grill was all over the place, honestly didn't look like he knew what he was doing, and decided to walk up to mention we would like a refund of just the wrap. As we were walking up, our name was called for the wrap. Received it, irritated at this point, only to open up the wrapping to an ICE COLD (refrigerated realistically) tortilla. I don't know if they don't toss it on the grill, but ice cold with luke warm chicken and covered with a ton of bleu cheese. It was sloppy and confusing. Cold tortilla with oozing bleu cheese? We received both our orders separately, and a good chunk of time in between our orders. THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF A MANAGER WAS IN CHARGE OF COMMUNICATION/GRILL/ORDERS, ETC. I think the guy had recognized when handing us our second order that we were not happy. One customer left before us, we seemed upset. No management on site to diffuse or acknowledge the disappointment. I recognize this place is new, but will not be going back anytime soon until staff knows what they're doing.
