Popped by around 11ish today (Saturday, 6/28) to get a gift card for a co-worker who loves JM's, but especially this location. Since I heard such good things i ordered a sandwich for myself to see what all the hubbub was about. And... oh baby baby was it good! I was greeted by a really friendly guy who made a spectacular sub. I got the Italian with lettuce tomatoes jalapeño peppers oregano and extra oil and vinegar. I am extremely sick and may need to go to the hospital. Yesterday I went to work and felt great. I hadn't eaten all day, so around 7-8 p.m. I stopped to get food When I arrived, they were cleaning the grill and I asked if they were closed. They said they were still open so I ordered a Philly cheesesteak About three to four hours after eating mid sleep remind you I became violently ill . Unfortunately calling out of work was not an option so today I have been driving from job to job while vomiting into a trash bag I'm literally balling my eyes out right now I am experiencing severe intestinal pain and intense cramping inside stomach my entire body hurts and the pain feels abnormal At first I thought this was a stomach bug but I have had stomach viruses before and this feels very different. The body aches are extreme and this does not feel like a normal flu I am becoming increasingly concerned because the pain feels like burning from the inside out. I don't know if something used during the grill cleaning process could have caused this or if there was another issue with the food but please just check your foods , if ur using ice cubes to clean the grilll or I don't know. I have eaten many Philly cheesesteaks before and have never experienced anything like this. At this point, I am in significant pain and am scared about what is happening to my body. This place is good bren here many times but I don't know what Is going on or what happened. I don't know if they were high or drunk or what but we ordered and they stood there trying to put on gloves for about 5 minutes staring at our group laughing and pointing. Watch this young man make several sandwiches , put oil and vinegar on some then scrape the remaining lettuce up and put it back in the lettuce bin to use on the next sandwich. I said it concerns me that you put that back in there. He said what's the concern? It costs money. Jersey Mike's of Roseland is a very solid choice for whenever I get a hankering for sandwiches, which is like almost all the time. I Gotta say that this chain in general has stepped up big time throughout this entire pandemic. They were probably one of the first sub shops that I noticed with the plastic barriers up and removing all chairs and tables was a good move too. Staff is always masked and gloved up plus they also have a totally contactless ordering system in place so You never have to play games with cash in hand or anything like that unless You feel the need to. When it comes to restaurant chains not all locations are equal. Some are great, others stink. Even though they might all share the same menu, the same uniforms and the same tables, it's the management at the franchise/store manager level and the employees that are preparing and serving the food, and most importantly, interacting with customers, that makes the difference. Within five miles of my home there are approximately five Jersey Mike's locations, and I've been to all of them. The Roseland store isn't the closest. In fact two other locations are closer. Despite this I almost exclusively come here. The store is always immaculately clean, and it's not just the tables and floors; they seem to diligently clean the food prep area continuously. It's seems strange to give extra credit for doing something that every restaurant should do, but let's be honest, most don't. The employees also seem to operate on a higher level than other Jersey Mike's locations. I've never seen a dour expression or experienced anything other than a friendly smile and a warm greeting. They genuinely seem to like working here and take pride in their food. I'm not the easiest customer. I like my food prepared a certain way, and my "special" requests are frequently met with long suffering glares at other places, but not here. I don't know whether it's the franchise owner or the store manager, but whatever they're doing they need to bottle it and ship it to the rest of the chain. read more

Check another Jersey Mike's off the list! Today, I stopped in at the new location in Roseland for lunch. This store, like just about every other JM's, gives you what you expect...good quality food in a comfortable, clean environment. I went with the cheesesteak sandwich today and it was very good. JM's is not cheap ($11.88 for the sandwich and a can of soda), but I always feel it's worth it because it's a step above fast food. Everyone at this Roseland location was helpful and friendly. Plenty of seating and a big parking lot. read more

Today I went into Jersey Mike's I was starving and I wanted to get a sub when I walked in- no one was in there and the staff was standing around talking so I ordered a sub --the guy who grabbed my bread and started cutting my meat never changed his gloves -he was wearing the same gloves that he had on when I walked in - I let that go, but then the girl putting the lettuce on my sub dropped allot it on the counter- she then scraped it up off the counter and put it on my sub. I was mortified. I made her remove it & put fresh lettuce on my sandwich. But when I got home I was so grossed out - I took pictures then dumped the sub in the garbage. I'll never go back there again. You'd think in this day and age of covid they'd be more careful. Change their gloves at least. I'm done. It's a $10 loss for a regular sub but I wasn't eating anything from that place. Gross me out ! Maybe instead of so many commercials they invest in more gloves. read more

I decided to try something different today and stopped by this Jersey Mike to try a cheesesteak. Ny was very helpful in explaining the menu and making awesome suggestions! We tries the #43 Chipotle Cheesesteak and the #26 Chicken Bacon Ranch. They were DELICIOUS! The restaurant was super clean and welcoming. Even their bathrooms were well kept. There is plenty of parking and tables to dine in. The best part was THEY TAKE APPLE PAY (which is great because I forgot by card). I look forward to returning soon! read more

The two employees Freddie and Jay are the nicest people I have even met. They absolutely exceeded my expectations of treatment. Foods decent. Wish it were cheaper considering the size of the subs but that's neither here nor there. I've been coming to this locations for the past year and I used to love it. I'm closer to the west orange location but started coming here for the service and atmosphere. Fred, I believe his name is, young Hispanic kid, makes the best subs and is always accommodating which is great because I usually go in at night and I know most workers tend to have slight attitudes. This was very refreshing to feel welcomed. Tall kid with glasses is always very quick and the big black guy with the slight fro is always super positive. Everyone is great there. Even when I see new faces. Haven't seen the usual GM there in a bit however, black kid with dreads, Jude I believe, and that's where I believe my issues lie. He was always very kind, and you can tell he ran a good shift with workers that respected him. No matter how long the line was, if I saw him, I knew I'd be out soon. See him address multiple customers by name and bang out their orders the second he saw who it was. Lately, there's been issues with placing mobile orders past like 745/8pm, less people on shifts so things take longer. There's also been a less cohesive feeling lately like no one wants to be there. New boss is trying but he's got some giant shoes to fill in my opinion. He just doesn't move the way I've become accustomed to and he's not as charismatic as the Jude guy. Seems very scripted and disingenuous with how he interacts with people. I really hope things return to the way they were or I'll just stick to west orange for the convenience. I never left a review EVER, but to see a store that grew on me start to slip like this is heartbreaking and I'm hoping this somehow helps. No matter which JM I go to, I'm always pleased with the service and food; however, this particular location deserves to be recognized. It wasn't just excellent service and food - from the moment I first walked in, the GM (Stacey McDaniel) had this infectious energy that radiated with love and positivity. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but I left this place feeling super inspired. I never would have expected to leave a JM feeling this way. Lol. Without a doubt, whenever I'm craving a sub, this place will be my "go to." This location just opened 5 minutes from my house. We got the super sub and the original Italian sub on Sunday night for dinner and we were so impressed! Not only by the food but especially by the service. It was my first time going to any jersey mike's, so I wasn't expecting much from the service, but all the employees were happy to be there and genuinely happy to serve us. We had our 3-year old son with us and they threw in a free cookie for him which made his night. My husband said this is the typical vibe at any jersey mike's, but I still had to mention since it was such a pleasant experience vs. the underwhelming service you usually get at a subway or chipotle. read more

My office just ordered subs for 6 people and 5 of them were incorrect. People who ordered chicken got beef, others ordered added bacon, jalapeño peppers, onions, mushrooms and received nothing. Someone even got a completely wrong sub! When we called very politely! We even said to the young lady who answered the phone, we understand you're busy but 95% of our orders are wrong. We were speaking to the assistant manager Naisha who decided she wanted to argue with us about how everything was fine and we were wrong. We spent 10 minutes on the phone explaining our issues and she had a rebuttal for everything. It was extremely unprofessional and annoying. The correct response to this issue would've been to offer to remake the sandwiches or refund the order. Instead she kind of agreed with us that two subs were wrong and that was gonna be the refund! I can't make this up. I'm disappointed. And furthermore can y'all cut the subs in half. Why does this not happen? read more

I try so hard not to eat cheesesteaks to stay healthy but I was lured in by my husband who was craving one and I am so glad I did! First off, the general manager, Stacey, his by far the nicest guy I have met at a chain sub shop in a long time. He was unbelievably friendly greeting guests and had a joyful disposition. He happened to make someone's order wrong and then made them a new one on the house. Talk about customer service! The food here is really fresh and the chicken cheesesteak is so good (perfect for a hangover too!) and far fewer calories than I thought (they post the caloric intake of items on their menus!). The regular cheesesteak was also delicious. They have a handful of sodas and water and drinks, both bottled and fountain. They even have fresh sweetened and unsweetened ice tea available. There's a ton of chips and sides available, even including macaroni salad which is sold in the refrigerator case, so you can take to go. The establishment is beyond clean, including the work stations, dining area and even the bathrooms. I would definitely go back here for sandwiches and subs not only because it was so good, but the service was immeasurable, and I love supporting businesses like that. Check them out! read more

I have had my company order from there twice. First time it was good. Second time I ordered the same sandwich, Turkey with Provolone, and they drained a whole bottle of oil on the lettuce and tomatoes to the point that the top of the bread was drenched and the whole wrapper was soaking in oil. See picture below. Pretty frustrating to buy a turkey sandwich to try and eat healthy and its loaded with a bottle of oil drained on it. Took the top half of the sub off and ate the rest.
