    Cheesesteak no peppers or onions
    Annie D.

First time at Jersey Mike's and it was great. The staff at this location are super friendly! I got a cheesesteak no onions or peppers on the Parmesan rosemary bread. Great sandwich and reasonable prices!

I ordered my favorite Jersey Mike's sub, #56 Big Kahuna Cheese Steak, online while in front of the store. The Big Kahuna has Philly beef steak, grilled onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and white American cheese. Roseville has finally and thankfully cooled down from the hot, hot record-breaking September heat waves, so I decided to wait inside the store for the estimated 15 minutes. I informed the staff that I had just placed an online order and just wanted to be indoors. Staff member said he had the sub almost ready, remarking he only needs 2 minutes to make one! I barely sat down before it was time to go. Super fast and friendly service. No line or wait on a late Sunday evening. My sandwich was yummy, meaty and cheesy. It was also free because I used my accumulated points. Jersey Mike's has a rewards program where you can a free sub on your birthday, and there are sometimes double points days. The Douglas Blvd location is brightly lit and has a few tables inside and outside. Jersey Mike's might be my favorite sub store.

    Giant chipotle pastrami sandwich.

This is my first time in years having a Jersey Mike Sub. The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly: I ordered their Chipotle Pastrami sandwich. Tge bread I chose was the Rosemary Parm it was fresh and good, but a little too much corn starch on bottom made it a bit gritty. The pastrami had a real good smokey flavor, but since they grill the meat it was a little dry. Not like a good pastrami from a New York or even an LA deli, where the Pastrami is correctly steamed before going on a sandwich. Portions I felt were decent. Overall not a bad sandwich. Just not great...

My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.

The Pastrami Shop was roughly 7 miles from home, so it was worth the short drive. The place is right off Sunset and Whitney Blvd in Rocklin. It's a very small place so ordering to go is popular. But if you find a seat, definitely enjoy the local vibe of the regulars and talk with the owners for a bit. They really are passionate about their business, and serving their customers. I really enjoyed my half hot pastrami classic sandwich. The bread was toasted, mustard, provolone, and a side of pickles and jalapeños. Boy was it good! I really should have had the full size. Give er a shot if you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it. I'll definitely stop by again. Loved it.

Perhaps 'basic' might be most appropriate…read more Let's first say that when I walked inside I nearly immediately turned around to walk out. The general look and atmosphere is off-putting. It seems devoid of product, somewhat disheveled and disorganized and lacking any substantive character. The place appears very 'long in the tooth', and no food products were evident anywhere. Added to it, no customers, yet some came later. Yet, I was hungry and stayed. To be honest, glad I did. They sell essentially one thing-PASTRAMI, and that's it. Well, indeed true to the restaurant name. Again, everything is basic! I opted for a Classic Pastrami Sandwich and was given the option for bread, I chose a soft roll, and provolone for cheese, plus mustard. At $22. for a sandwich, well, I had some hesitation. The place is apparently owned and run by a charming older couple who really are out to please, very friendly and congenial. I felt like I fell into an old Russian Jewish deli on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, no frills. Basic, but good food! OK, the Pastrami and the entire sandwich were AMAZING! The quality of the meat was top notch and quite good, probably some of the best around. The sandwich was HUGE and enough for two meals. I was offered peppers on the side and it was perfect for me to add some. The sandwich was nicely warmed/toasted, the cheese melted perfectly and it wasn't a difficult messy thing to eat as are many more upscale sandwiches and burgers these days. So, in the end it was worth it. The sandwich was indeed a surprise and excellent. Plus, they checked after I bit into it to be certain I was satisfied, with a smile. I got some chips and a drink and ate it there. Plenty of napkins were provided. Located in a rather funky 1960s shopping mall it's small, not that easy to find yet parking seems OK. Albeit it somewhat pricey the food is very good and the value is there. If you want Pastrami then this is the place. They sell bulk packages of it too. Try it. You might be as surprised by it.

The space is big with a lot of seating at tables, high-tops, & booths that can accommodate a few diners or a big party. Natural light comes in through large windows. Music from the 80's & 90's played. TVs around the perimeter played Atmosphere TV. The menu is posted above the counter. You can order at the counter or using a kiosk. They have self-serve Coca-Cola fountain drinks, including Gold Peak Teas. Napkins & condiments are also self-accessible. We got a 12" French Dip with 3 oz of extra meat & extra cheese, & a Supreme Cheesesteak. Food was served piping hot & brought out to our table. The mister liked the French Dip & thought it was tasty with a beefy jus that wasn't salty. However, he said he would order something else next time. I liked the Supreme. It had tender meat, good texture on the veggies, & was cheesy. The bread was nice & soft, but the flip side is that it impacted the structural integrity of the sandwich as I ate. The Fries were wonderfully crunchy. I liked dipping them in fry sauce & Ranch dressing. The mister's sandwich was served with a pickle spear that I took a bite of, but it was not good--fibrous, not juicy, & not very sour. The staff we encountered were friendly. We got checked in on a couple of times. The dining space was well-maintained.

Ok, so you have to love cream cheese (which I do) because that's what makes this behemoth of a sandwich so good. It has avocado, cheese, and mayo. For a pastrami sandwich purist, it might not sound good, but it was so flavorful, and even my husband loved it, and he's one of the pastrami purist and not a fan of mayo. That says a lot. We also tried the hot roast beef with cheddar cheese that came with an au jus for dipping. So dang good! I love the beach and Hawaii theme, of course.
