I love me a good cheesesteak, so I was excited to give Bruchi's a try. Unfortunately, it just didn't hit the mark for me. The restaurant had a pretty strong fried-food smell when I walked in, which made me wonder if the ventilation wasn't working properly. Stopped by for a weekday lunch with the mister & had a solid meal experience. It was fairly busy with a steady amount of people. The space is big with a lot of seating at tables, high-tops, & booths that can accommodate a few diners or a big party. Natural light comes in through large windows. Music from the 80's & 90's played. TVs around the perimeter played Atmosphere TV. The menu is posted above the counter. You can order at the counter or using a kiosk. They have self-serve Coca-Cola fountain drinks, including Gold Peak Teas. Napkins & condiments are also self-accessible. We got a 12" French Dip with 3 oz of extra meat & extra cheese, & a Supreme Cheesesteak. Food was served piping hot & brought out to our table. The mister liked the French Dip & thought it was tasty with a beefy jus that wasn't salty. However, he said he would order something else next time. I liked the Supreme. It had tender meat, good texture on the veggies, & was cheesy. The bread was nice & soft, but the flip side is that it impacted the structural integrity of the sandwich as I ate. The Fries were wonderfully crunchy. I liked dipping them in fry sauce & Ranch dressing. The mister's sandwich was served with a pickle spear that I took a bite of, but it was not good--fibrous, not juicy, & not very sour. The staff we encountered were friendly. This place is great! The moment you walk in, it smells delicious. The whole place is clean and very nicely decorated. The service was delightful & Megan was great. She later came and checked on us to see how we enjoyed the food and brought us a bag for leftovers. Megan also told us they get there at 6am and make the bread daily (you can tell!). She also told us they have new owners and getting a lot more beers on tap next week so come back for that. They have lots of different items such as cheesesteak sandwiches, subs, burgers and salads with different sizes. They do offer a kids meal that seems like a great price for all you get. They also have crinkle cut fries that come in regular or large. They have a soda fountain machine and beer on tap. They also have a sauce station that has a house made fry sauce, malt vinegar, ketchup, horseradish and packets of mayo and mustard. They have ranch in the back (ask for it) which is delicious!!! We ordered two breaking bud beers, a chicken Malibu cheesesteak, a pepper steak cheesesteak and a regular fry. The fries were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. After the fries we started with the pepper steak cheesesteak- holy moly. I am still thinking about it! The bread was so soft and everything was cooked perfectly. The flavors were on point. The whole thing was pipping hot almost till the last bite. We got full so we will try the chicken Malibu later. I am so impressed with this spot I cannot wait to go back. Came in for lunch and had a supreme chicken sandwich and onion rings. The food was fresh and hot! Tasted great! Portions were good. My husband and I split a large sandwich and it was perfect. They also wrapped it separately which was nice. The onion rings were so good!!!! The batter was light and crispy and the onions were sliced on the thinner side, I like them that way. Location is perfect! We ate lunch then walked over to tjmaxx!! We will definitely be back!! read more

If you're in the mood for a yummy cheesesteak sandwich, Bruchi's is a solid place to check out! I came here after a nearby meeting. I'm not always in this part of town, but the meeting brought me here. It was late-ish, I was hungry and I remembered this was nearby (my brother-in-law's favorite). When I entered, I could tell they were in their "getting ready to close" mode... tidying up for the next day and so on. I asked if they were closing soon... they replied in the affirmative, but very politely and assured me they'd be happy to serve me. I elected to get my sandwich to go to help them out a bit. I normally get the standard cheesesteak, but this time I got a variant that added bacon... because there's always room for bacon! I watched the sandwich being grilled... that's all on display behind a window. Kept me entertained - lol. It was done in a flash, I was on my way and they were back to cleaning mode. I haven't been to Bruchi's since I was in Washington... I think it's time to go again! Bruchi's is located in the shopping mall on Douglas Boulevard, across from the Raleys shopping center. There is plenty of parking, but this parking lot is always busy with so the other cool places to shop (like the Sacramento Crystal Co, one of my favorite places!!!). I've always seen Bruchi's here and have always wanted to go in, but it's hidden in what i feel like is the back of the parking lot, so it easily gets forgotten... when I walked in around dinner time, it was empty. There are tables and booths to sit in, large windows which makes it very bright during the day. It's a very modern look in here. I like the neon beer lights in the windows, too. As you walk up to order your food, the menu is above the register, starting with what they are known for- their cheesesteaks. The nice woman at the counter was ready for my order... but I asked her- what is the most popular item here? She said: The Supreme- Melted white American cheese worth grilled onions, fresh bell peppers, mushrooms, mayo and spices worth lean meat. I got her recommending in the 12" so that I would have the other half for lunch for tomorrow(or for babe even i get home). She was really sweet as I asked questions about the other items on the menu. She said the chicken is a little sweeter because it is marinated in pineapple juice and teriyaki sauce... yum! I only waited about 5 minutes for her to kindly walk my to-go sandwich over to me with a beautiful smile. I was only a few minutes away from my clients house. So when I got there, I pulled out her lunch that I picked up before mine and sat with her. I was disappointed to see the bread of my sandwich falling apart from so much moisture. It was soggy. It was hard to eat it.. Second, there were no spices. No seasoning. The meat was plain, tough, and chewy, and not cheesy enough. The ends of the bread were stale. This sandwich could've been a hit, if it was seasoned and had more cheese!! I was very disappointed in this sandwich. I could pick up the frozen meat, veggies, and bread at Walmart (as I have done before) and make a much better tasting sandwich. When I brought the sandwich home, I added 2 slices of yellow American cheese. That made it soooo much better.... except, the end that was already stale were hard as a rock today. Just overall a disappointing sandwich. Not enough flavor and I shouldn't have to fix a $15 sandwich up so that it actually tastes good. Maybe next time I was dine in and try a marinated chicken sandwich. read more

The cheesesteak was loaded with tender, flavorful meat, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh ingredients on a soft, delicious roll. Every bite was packed with flavor and tasted like it was made fresh to order. The portions were generous, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. It's becoming harder and harder to find a place that consistently delivers both great food and great service, but Bruchi's does exactly that. We tried their cheesesteak today for the first time. It was just okay. Missing some seasonings to make it taste like a true Philly cheesesteak. The roll was okay but not a Amoroso roll which is traditional on a Philly cheesesteak. And sadly there was more bread than meat. Having spent many years in Philly we are probably more critical than most. There were a few in the area that closed recently and they were more authentic. My honest review: I had a cold submarine sandwich for lunch. It was a large (about 12 inches long) and it had three different kinds of meat. (pastrami, roast beef and ham) I bet there wasn't more than 3 ounces of meat on the whole sandwich. I wish I had a scale with me. It was 85% bread and lettuce. It had 3 thin slices of tomato but a decent amount of onions for a foot-long sandwich. The bread was falling apart like it was a little stale unfortunately. I had an order of french fries and it seemed like they've been sitting in the tray for at least 15 to 20 minutes after they were cooked. Have you ever had McDonald's fries after they were about 20 minutes old? (not good). French fries should always be made to order and delivered to the customer within five minutes of being cooked. The sandwich was about $16 and the fries were about $4. I was very disappointed. I spent $25 for a sandwich fries and a Coke. I do know the food industry because I owned an Italian restaurant and a sandwich deli in Los Angeles. This place could be one of the better places around, but unfortunately, I think it's lacking in a few areas. It was not crowded at all during lunchtime on a weekend. That might be a sign. read more

Got two cheesesteaks. Bread was super soft and yummy. Some of the previous pics made the sandwiches look quite full of meat - ours... meh... but tasty nonetheless. Chiquito got a kids meal which comes with a chocolate chip cookie, apple juice or sm soda, chips or French fries. He opted for a small bacon and cheese burger - no other toppings. Got a large order of fries to share and TBH maybe a small would have been plenty to share since our cheesesteaks were kinda big. The bathroom was clean. Has baby changing table. The cheesesteaks are good but don't have much meat. They also have peppers in the meat very small to where they are hard to taste. Other sandwiches I got here have also been a little stingy on the meat. However the prices are probably why. You kind of get what you pay for. I'm sure a lot of people would like it, just depends on preference. I haven't tried all the food so this mainly applies to cheesesteak, French dip and turkey sandwich. After hearing about this weird sounding place from a friend I decided to try it out. Glad I did. At the counter was a sweet girl who took my order with a smile . My food was to go and was brought out to me in a timely manner by another friendly girl. Bruchi's is one of the best cheesesteak places outside of Philly. In order, I would vote for Jim's (Philly), Pat's (Philly), Jersey Mike's (yep, but double meat only), then Bruchi's.
