Full sandwich and bowl of soup
    Lily D.

Its been since 2016 of my last review so its time for an update! We have always loved this place. Its been awhile since our last visit and we tend to come when it is cold because of their variety of soups. We came this past rainy weekend. Love that they have a half a sandwich and soup combo but I was HUNGRY so I got the full sandwich and a bowl vs. a cup of soup. It cost me $20 without a drink. Seems pricey but I feel like I got a lot and best of all, quality ingredients. And I feel like the sandwich is much bigger than I remembered. It is a mouthful to take a bite! I got the managers special of a turkey bacon avocado. OMG , it was SO good! The bacon was nice and crispy but not hard. The chipotle mayo I didn't care for because it was a bit too hot mustard spicy. Otherwise I usually get the Pilgrim Progress because i really like the sprouts on it. Always happy to support the small business so I am happy to see that they are still around despite the pandemic. I will be back!

Stopped by this little deli for a sandwich, and we weren't disappointed. I'm always down for a good sandwich shop, and this one checked most of the boxes. The place was spacious and clean, had a nice little setup. The staff? Eh, they were just kind of there. Not overly friendly, but not rude either. I got the Chicken Durango and my guy went with the California Crunch. Both sandwiches were solid, had good flavor, good size, hit the spot. We got a side as well, I grabbed chips (can't mess that up), and he went for the clam chowder. Let's just say... that one didn't win him over. All in all, it was a good spot. Not mind blowing, but tasty enough. Since it's a bit out of the way for us, probably not a regular go to, but I wouldn't be mad if we found ourselves back in the area and needed a bite.

The shop was a cute little sandwich shop with a nice atmosphere. I ordered the half sandwich and salad and chips and paid $14.** I was super excited they had macaroni salad but was let down unfortunately. It wasn't that good. I am a macaroni salad connoisseur so I've had most around town and this just wasn't doing it. I had the pot belly sandwich and there was barely any meat on it and I they forgot the sprouts. The bread was amazing though. A Dutch crust that was soft and tasted great. Amazing texture. But with so little filling I was left feeling like I was just eating bread. The staff was super friendly and pleasant. I might consider going back but with all the sandwich shops out there I might not.

Great place to grab a fresh deli sandwich [Roseville CA] I stopped by the shop one Sunday afternoon and purchased sandwiches to go for me and my daughters: Chicken Durango on toasted ciabatta Turkey with Pesto on 9-grain bread BLAST (BLT with avo and sprouts) I had the Turkey w/ pesto. They were generous on the turkey and avocado and the pesto dressing was delicious. I would order this again but request that the bread be white (instead of the grain bread). My girls enjoyed the BLT... err, I meant BLAST (this wasn't on their menu but I asked if they could make it. It included avocado and sprouts). The sandwich was loaded... they didn't skimp on the bacon LoL! The Chicken Durango was a warm sandwich. I really want to try this next time. Btw, all the sandwiches came with red onion, tomato, and clover sprouts so just be mindful if you want to omit any of these ingredients from your sandwich. The prices were very reasonable. Nice aesthetics that included a vintage stove and an old-fashioned telephone on display. Clean restaurant. I look forward to returning to try that Chicken Durango. Review #3207

I always get the del monte special & love it. Super fresh ingredients as always. The service is always above and beyond and when we do stay inside to eat, it's a nice and quiet cafe.

Loooove it here! Try the pasta fagiloi soup. Super good. Literally all the desserts here are phenomenal.

Dub Club (I asked for no tomatoes). Very fresh and tasty!

Second time here and the service and food are both great. First time I got the Dub Club on Dutch crunch which was really good, plus their homemade carrot cake. Second time I tried their French dip and had to get more carrot cake (addictive). Solid sandwiches with good amount of meat. Super clean inside and plenty of parking. I'll be back!

10/10! Quick service and nice quality ingredients. Friendly staff. It's nice to have another deli option in the Roseville area!

The Rueben is decent with bread a bit soft. There's a pickle and orange slice for sides. If I'm in the area I'll come back.

The Pastrami Shop was roughly 7 miles from home, so it was worth the short drive. The place is right off Sunset and Whitney Blvd in Rocklin. It's a very small place so ordering to go is popular. But if you find a seat, definitely enjoy the local vibe of the regulars and talk with the owners for a bit. They really are passionate about their business, and serving their customers. I really enjoyed my half hot pastrami classic sandwich. The bread was toasted, mustard, provolone, and a side of pickles and jalapeños. Boy was it good! I really should have had the full size. Give er a shot if you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it. I'll definitely stop by again. Loved it.

It seems devoid of product, somewhat disheveled and disorganized and lacking any substantive character. The place appears very 'long in the tooth', and no food products were evident anywhere. Added to it, no customers, yet some came later. Yet, I was hungry and stayed. To be honest, glad I did. They sell essentially one thing-PASTRAMI, and that's it. Well, indeed true to the restaurant name. Again, everything is basic! I opted for a Classic Pastrami Sandwich and was given the option for bread, I chose a soft roll, and provolone for cheese, plus mustard. At $22. for a sandwich, well, I had some hesitation. The place is apparently owned and run by a charming older couple who really are out to please, very friendly and congenial. I felt like I fell into an old Russian Jewish deli on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, no frills. Basic, but good food! OK, the Pastrami and the entire sandwich were AMAZING! The quality of the meat was top notch and quite good, probably some of the best around. The sandwich was HUGE and enough for two meals. I was offered peppers on the side and it was perfect for me to add some. The sandwich was nicely warmed/toasted, the cheese melted perfectly and it wasn't a difficult messy thing to eat as are many more upscale sandwiches and burgers these days. So, in the end it was worth it. The sandwich was indeed a surprise and excellent. Plus, they checked after I bit into it to be certain I was satisfied, with a smile. I got some chips and a drink and ate it there. Plenty of napkins were provided. Located in a rather funky 1960s shopping mall it's small, not that easy to find yet parking seems OK. Albeit it somewhat pricey the food is very good and the value is there. If you want Pastrami then this is the place. They sell bulk packages of it too. Try it. You might be as surprised by it.

Ok, so you have to love cream cheese (which I do) because that's what makes this behemoth of a sandwich so good. It's turkey, avocado, and bacon with the usual lettuce, tomato, onion, greek peppers, and mayo and mustard. Everything I've had there over the years at BHD has always been consistently delicious and stacked. I tried the hot pastrami for the first time, as it comes, and it was yummy. It has avocado, cheese, and mayo. For a pastrami sandwich purist, it might not sound good, but it was so flavorful, and even my husband loved it, and he's one of the pastrami purist and not a fan of mayo. That says a lot. We also tried the hot roast beef with cheddar cheese that came with an au jus for dipping. So dang good! I love the beach and Hawaii theme, of course. That was exactly what happened after my first visit here. Those meatballs lived rent-free in my brain, so coming back was an easy call. Earlier in the day we took a nice walk around Folsom Lake with some friends. Fresh air, good conversation, and by the time we wrapped up everyone had that universal look of "okay... where are we eating?" As we drove back and passed Dominick's it was one of those moments where the decision basically made itself. I was like yep... this is happening. Pulling up I noticed the line was out the door, which honestly is the Italian restaurant version of a five-star Yelp wink. A line like that usually means something good is happening inside. The place itself has a great vibe and you can tell people genuinely love this spot. While waiting I looked around the shop area and noticed they have wines available for purchase. One bottle caught my eye immediately... a 100-point rated wine. For anyone who knows wine, that's basically the culinary equivalent of a mic drop. A perfect score from top critics is rare air. Naturally I did what any responsible food lover would do... I snagged it. A 2020 Super Tuscan that felt like finding hidden treasure on a shelf. The young lady behind the counter was an absolute delight. Super friendly, welcoming, and she even laughed at one of my dad jokes... which means either it was actually funny or she deserves an Oscar. Either way, great hospitality all around. The food came out and the table looked like a proper Italian feast. We had the meatballs, calzones, a chicken panini, and the coleslaw salad. My friends were loving everything. Plates were disappearing fast which is always a good sign. Now for the moment I had been waiting for... the meatballs. They were still good, but they didn't quite pop the way they did in my memory. You know that nostalgic flavor that takes you right back to the first bite you ever had? That lightning bolt moment? I was hoping for that same flavor encore. This time it felt more like the band playing an acoustic version of the hit song. Still enjoyable... just missing a little of that original fireworks. But hey, every great restaurant gets an off day, and honestly the overall experience was still a great stop. Good food, great hospitality, and a place that clearly has a loyal following. And those meatballs? I'm confident they'll make their comeback tour. When they do... best believe I'll be back for the encore.
