And then proceeded to make the sandwich incorrectly. The young man dressing the sandwiches would take whatever was left over on the cutting board and push it back into the bins that were ready for the next sandwich. Let me start by saying the Mahan location has always been one of my favorites in the Tallahassee area. The service, food, and cleanliness have consistently been top-notch, which is why it's disappointing to leave this lower review. Last night, I placed an online order and arrived at the store at 8:44 PM -- well before the posted 9:00 PM closing time -- only to find all the doors locked. I could see employees inside already cleaning and finishing their closing duties. I understand everyone wants to go home after a long shift, but locking the doors early while customers are still expected doesn't reflect well on your service standards. After waving to get someone's attention, an employee eventually let me in and asked if I was picking up an online order. I confirmed I was, and while I appreciate being let in, it was clear he was irritated by the interruption. What was more surprising was that he wasn't wearing a Jersey Mike's uniform -- just a t-shirt and jeans -- which felt unprofessional. As a retail manager myself, I would be very concerned to find out my team was closing early simply because they wanted to leave. If the store hours have changed and you're now closing at 8:30 PM, they should be updated online to avoid confusion and lost business. I even noticed several cars pull into the lot and leave, likely assuming the store was closed. This isn't great customer service, and I hope it's used as a coaching opportunity. For anyone considering ordering after 8:00 PM, be aware that you may run into issues picking up your food -- because based on this experience, it seems the staff isn't eager to assist near closing time. read more

Made order wrong (added topping I asked For on side and wife was Unable To eat her half) and sandwich was so soggy. It was drenched in so much oil and vinegar - emailed store through the website and no one got back to me - first bad bad experience I've had but how do you mess up just a regular sandwich with a few toppings and it's $12. Craving a hot sandwich caused my car to pull into the parking lot of this location. When I walked in the smell of bread and meat cooking on the flat top grill filled the air. The polite staff member greeted me and asked what I would like. I ordered the Big Kahuna regular sized. This is hot sandwich is cooked with onions, peppers, jalapeños, and extra cheese till perfection. I went with the rosemary Parmesan bread for the win. The Big Kahuna on the savory, soft rosemary Parmesan bread which sopped up all the deliciousness. I added the Vicki's plain chips and a drink. Between the service and food, I will be back again. I love this place. My husband and I will drive 10 minutes past the Jersey Mike's on our side of town to get to this location. Every time we stop by, they are incredibly busy. That being said, we still get served quickly and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The food is delicious and their attention to detail is amazing, the sandwiches are so beautifully made that I feel bad about eating them and destroying a piece of art! Yesterday, my husband asked for the man on the slicer (I think his name was Brett and he seemed to be the manager) to give him the "chef's choice." He accepted the challenge and gave him the #11 on Rosemary Parmesan bread (I don't think it's on the official menu.) He had the girl make it "Mikes Way" because he said that is how he thinks everything should be made. It was a win and my husband has a new favorite sandwich. Still the best subs in town and these I like to call a hoagie. The sub name is overused and a good hoagie is hard to find. The meat is fresh and the flavor is straight from the New Jersey delis. Get it Mike's way and you won't be disappointed. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they are a bit on the high price side. The giant will be a few meals but it is priced like it is also. Went for lunch @11:30 on a Tuesday. it wasn't very busy. Ordered a #16 without peppers. The person in front of me ordered a #2. At the counter he was charged $2 more then the #2 sandwich cost. He said there was enough lettuce and they still kept piling on more. There is obviously a lack of listening. Anyways, I ordered and paid, and waited. The man next to me was grumbling that after 2 attempts his sandwich was still not made correctly. My sandwich came in a suitable amount of time and was piping hot, with peppers. Now, I don't have a allergy. I just don't like peppers in sandwiches. Apparently how I order doesn't matter because they will make it how they want anyway. I'm not saying the staff is bad, there is just a obviously lack of paying attention to detail, and those details make your dining experience good or bad. I can say that I won't be back. read more

We stopped at Jersey Mike's while driving through because we thought it'd be fast but not greasy like fast food. The girl that took my order and the guy that fixed my sandwich were great! My turkey sub and my husband's bacon ranch were delicious-- he was impressed about their bacon which he said was better than a lot of other sandwich places. However the cashier was confused by our order, which was one combo, then just a sandwich and bottled drink. My mother was also with us, and they tried to charge her $19 for a veggie wrap with added grilled chicken. The same cashier that our two meals had confused; she did apologize but the manager was manning the grill and couldn't come help her so it took them like five minutes to get the refund and fix the error. However, the manager was nice, apologetic, and didn't charge for the wrap (just her drink and chips). My mother also said the veggies and chicken in her wrap were cooked to perfection (by the manager) and were the best she has had at any Jersey Mike's. So-- go for the food, but don't be in a hurry, and keep your orders simple. Cashier could use more training and maybe have more staff present to make it more efficient when there are errors, but other staff were good. Food: 5 stars! Cashier: 3 stars Manager: 4 stars (for understaffing and timeliness, which could have just been an unfortunate situation he couldn't avoid but still). read more

Very disappointed. I ordered a sub with no onions and extra veggies. When I got home I found my sandwich had no veggies EXCEPT onions and a ton of yellow mustard that I didn't order. I called the restaurant to let them know but they have no avenue for feedback or speaking to an employee, nor do they have an option on their app or website so I turned here. While I was there the manager was turning the lights off and on in the lobby, creating chaos for his employees and patrons. I also saw him rush an employee for not making sandwiches fast enough. My wife and I had dinner here tonight and I was impressed. The establishment was very clean, all of the ingredients looked like they were just put out fresh. I ordered an Italian and my wife had a turkey wrap. My sub was piled high with Italian goodness and finished off with a modified Mike's Way. My wife said her wrap was very good as well. Ordered a salad, counted 12 minutes from the time I paid until it was ready, which made me late returning to work. Then it came out without all the toppings I had requested. Went for lunch at Jersey Mike's. The manager that was working would not get off of his phone to assist customers. He kept pacing back and forth while talking on his phone. When he would speak to his employees, he would talk down to them. I even observed him taking an order from a customer over the phone, asking them to hold so that he could talk to the person on his cell phone, then return to finish taking their order on the work phone. Was blown away today by the staff working here on a lunchtime Sunday. This group of fairly young workers went above and beyond today to make my husband and I feel welcomed and well served. The place was spotless when we arrived but everybody working there took every opportunity on their breaks to make sure they were cleaning the counters and doing everything they could to brighten up the place and make it nice.
