I had been to awhile back in Danville and barely remembered the experience. I was always wanting to give it another chance. I happened to be in Wc running errands and iI stumbled upon this place. I decided to try the Philly special with American cheese and sweet Peppers. I believe it was the #17 on white bread. It was Lunchtime and there was a long line. The line went quickly but the workers were very efficient and the order was ready pretty quick. I had ordered it to go and the sandwich was really good. I was at the Las Vegas Airport a few weeks ago and needed some breakfast/lunch that was reasonably priced, good quality and fresh. A friend steered me to Jersey Mike's for a BLT. I was hooked. Today - Wednesday, March 26, is when local Jersey Mike's owners and operators are celebrating "Day of Giving" where they will donate every single dollar that comes in to local charities. And, during the month of March, customers will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing their order. Charities include hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more. This Walnut Creek Jersey Mike's is supporting the Special Olympics Northern California. Now to the good part. I ordered a Mike's Famous Philly Grilled onions, peppers & white American cheese and a BLT Bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Now I haven't been to Geno's Steaks or Pat's King of Steaks in Philadelphia, but I have to believe both establishments would be proud of the Jersey Mike's Philly. Perfectly cooked - tender steak with browned sweet onions, sweet peppers and really gooey cheese. I was in heaven. The BLT is a typical sandwich but good. It's my favorite so far. Fresh lettuce, ripe tomato's and bacon ---- ooohhh the bacon Like Danny DeVito says "Jersey Mike's is my happy place!" And a shout out to one of the hardest working restaurant staff I've seen in a long time. If you are near downtown Walnut Creek. Glad this location opened up. I don't have to drive to Danville anymore. I have only ordered one thing since I've first had Jersey Mike's. #13 on either white or rosemary parm bread, Mike's way with mayo and jalapenos. They do have a ton of other sandwiches both hot and cold. There are smaller sandwich shops I could try and frequent, but Jersey Mike's fills that sandwich craving I get. Parking can get a little cramped around lunch since there are a few food places in this plaza. I believe you can order on the app and just pick it up, but I like seeing it made fresh in front of me. Employees are always nice here too. That adds a nice touch to the short interaction of getting a sandwich. read more

I am newly Celiac and came in here unsure of what kind of experience I would have ordering a sandwich during rush hour. I told the person making my sandwich that I wanted gluten free bread and immediately they started taking precautions - thoroughly wiping down the machinery and work area, switching gloves every time they were potentially contaminated. I was amazed. It made me a little emotional how accommodating they were without me even asking them to do any of that. It was the middle of rush hour for lunch and the line was long, but they surely paid attention to detail and my request for gluten free bread turned into a gluten free experience (to the best of their efforts). 10/10 service. read more

Just stopped today to get my kids sandwiches and the manager already was rushing me to order and left to another store and they didn't have my sandwich done because they didn't know if I wanted everything on it.. didn't give my kid a bag or the lady after us.. it's just simple things that make a difference. I have watched and listened to Jersey Mike ads for quite a while and being an east coast guy have always loved a good sub. After eating a JM's Italian I think I found a chain that does it right. Seem to have quality ingredients, good rolls and top it off correctly, in my taste at least, with the correct oil and vinegar combo. While they are not the small Italian grocery store Hoagies that I grew up with, they are the best I have had in the era of chain shops, which most don't cut the mustard at all! read more

Came into the new Walnut Creek location. Dying to try the meatless cheese steak so here I am. You order, pay and wait for someone to bring out your order. The dining room is quaint with 4 4 tops and 6 2 tops. Large array of chips and soda and tea including fountain machine. It's confusing for people coming in as who's in line and who's waiting for their order. I was waiting and asked 5 times if I was in line. I had to really move into the dining room so they understood-"I'm not in line...I'm waiting." Ordered #64- Portabella Mushroom & Swiss Cheesesteak The guys at the front were super nice and pleasant. I made the mistake of ordering a hot sandwich at lunch today. Not only did it take over 15 minutes to make while many people got their subs, but when it was cooked they gave it to the wrong person who proceeded to walk out the door, even when I called out that it was mine. The manager noticed and went out and retrieved it from the wrong person. I was not aware of him chasing after him all I knew was he proceeded to come back inside and handed me a sandwich that had come back into the restaurant from being out of their hands. I was concerned that the wrong recipient had opened it up and perhaps even took it out of the wrapper. I would strongly recommend going to another location. read more

The customer service was amazing. And the two guys that were there were very welcoming. It was my first time at that location and it was awesome. I got a free cookie. And I got my sandwich thrown into the garbage. The guy was moving so fast that he accidentally threw/dropped my sandwich in the garbage. It was so funny! We all laughed. But it was a good thing. The first guy that worked on my hot sandwich left mine on the grill to do a gigantic cold Italian. I don't like well done steak. So when my sandwich accidentally made it into the garbage. I knew that sandwich wasn't meant for me. God was looking out and knew I wouldn't like that sandwich. We all laughed. It was remade and was delicious!! I went to the new Jersey Mike's on Newell in Walnut Creek. Until February 9, they're offering a BOGO special and an opportunity to support the Walnut Creek Education Foundation (coupon included). I was very impressed that a brand new business would reach out to the schools to support! Johnny, one of the owners, was working the line and was super friendly and happy to be a part of the Walnut Creek Community. Jersey Mike's is located where Casper's Hot Dogs used to be, directly across from Dunkin Donuts (the corner of Newell and Broadway). I first tried Jersey Mike's when I had an unexpected layover in the Las Vegas airport. I really enjoy their subs, and I'm glad there is another option for a fast sandwich in downtown Walnut Creek. They slice all the meats to order and bake the bread in-house, so everything is fresh. They did a great job with the remodel! They appeared to be fully staffed, everyone was very friendly, and they worked well together. Considering I got there when the line was out the door, I got my sandwiches very quickly. Two subs, a soda, and chips were under $16 with the coupon. They have bowls and gluten-free bread! In addition to the Walnut Creek location, they just opened in Concord. The sandwich artists were very efficient and the guy behind the counter did not waste a single movement while making my #13. Why such a big difference in the length of my two sandwiches? They should be the same length. I'm disappointed in this and now I can't recommend this place nor do I plan on returning. Do better Jersey Mikes!! Also, the customer service was lacking, they don't tell you about any options for your food and just wanted to rush you through. I was asked 4 times by the same person if I wanted to add on chips and drinks. I guess I should have told them that I wanted both of my regular sandwiches to be the same size!! The taste was okay. I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony last night for the new Jersey Mikes location in Walnut Creek, and was impressed with the outstanding super club sandwich. Turkey, roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes and thick cut bacon! Yes applewood smoked thick cut bacon! Tyler said their motto is, "We bleed the sauce" so I let them add the salt, pepper oil and vinegar.
