I might have had my hopes a bit too high for Nation's... I really wanted to love it! The immediate atmosphere almost won me over. Watching the grill in action behind the counter with a wall of pies by the register gave all the charm of a classic burger joint. But unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the vibe. My wife and I both ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. Each bite alternated with either only the taste of the American Cheese or mayo, with the actual burger and bacon being completely lost with no real flavor. The fries and the onion rings were both just fine, nothing memorable. I think my real gripe is the price. $45 for two burgers, two drinks, onion rings, and fries. For this quality of food, that's insane to me, especially with other burgers nearby. I guess I'm not writing Nation's off entirely, though. Those pies looked delicious, and I'm itching to give them a try. I'll have to update if I come back to try them.

TL:DR - much improved After a 4-year hiatus, I came back to check if there was progress, and I'm happy to say there is definitely a change for the better Service - Gone are the young kids that made it feel like recess in the high school quad. replaced with women who work hard and get the job done. Service - On point. Efficient. Clean shop. Nicely done. Food - much better. Back to an old school Nations burger. keep it up! BTW - not gonna slam them on price like others. If you look around, inflation and legislation for min wage is impacting everyone and everything across products and services. It comes down to each individual's value equation - worth it for some, not for others. YMMV

First time here and let's just say food is pricy. With thay said the sliders were really tasty with a juicy patty. Fries were fresh and crispy. Pie was a really big slice. Don't think I'll come back to pay the price for the food but pies are a nice tasty treat

I ducked into Nation's Giant Hamburgers on National Pie Day to see whether I could snag a slice of delicious pie. Nation's is cozy, and the well-worn feel of the restaurant spoke to the many decades of Nation's food service and its comforting (dare I say old-fashioned) presence as a community staple. If anything in the community was tried and true, I couldn't go wrong finding it at Nation's. My eyes wandered the pie listing until I got to Nation's signature lemon crème pie. Was it worth it? I went to find out. I ordered a slice of the lemon crème pie (imagine my surprise at getting an entire quarter of a pie, enough for three people) and out the door I went to feast on this sheer amount of pie at home. Tart citrus sunshine with sweet clouds of whipped cream on top, crunchy pie crust on the bottom--that's what this pie was. It's a lemon meringue pie for people who prefer something creamier and sweeter to lightly toasted, lightly sugared sea foam resting on the zingy waves of lemon curds. A dash of yellow sprinkles was the finishing touch. Steadfast and true, Nation's lemon crème pie was a traditional slice of Americana straight from the lemon orchards of California. My preference is still for lemon meringue pie, but lemon crème pie is a great way to add a flourish to a summer dessert.

This is our go-to Nation's location! The restaurant is clean and tidy, the staff is friendly, the service is quick and the food is delicious! Their banana cream pie and blueberry cheesecake is our favorite!

Nations is a Bay Area staple... the burgers are amazing and they are maybe the only ones that figured out a use for miracle whip, lol. But people always forget their breakfasts and their amazing pies. For me it's the staff and the 90's like atmosphere that I come back for. Such a great spot... it's a must stop place.

I love Nation's pies and you can order online and pick up and see their inventory. I wanted to order some keylime pie for my dad's birthday and they had it at this particular location. I entered it in and I got there earlier and they gave it to me. The workers were extremely friendly and helpful. This is located in a shopping plaza so it's really easy to find parking. I like how you can order slices, half and full pies and mix and match. Definitely still has the traditional diner feel and you can get breakfast, burgers, and hot dogs here.

If you want a shitty $10 hot dog go to Nation's. Beans don't belong in hot dog chili! I was dumb enough to buy 2 I figured they were regular hot dogs you could pick up. Big waste of $20! When i got home and saw them, I washed the hot dogs off and gave then to my dogs!

Great burgers, great shakes as well as pies. Cute little place with quick service. We tried the breakfast and enjoyed it too.

Cheeseburger, fries and a blueberry cheesecake. Not the prettiest girl on IG but it's like the girl next door that's loyal

The fries are thin-cut and crispy, the kind you keep picking at after you're full. Staff was attentive and actually helpful, not just going through the motions. Came in on a weekday and it wasn't crowded, so service was quick. They've got 80s music playing, which set a nice low-key mood for lunch. There's outdoor seating if you want it, and they take Apple Pay, which is handy. The drink selection is better than you'd expect for a burger place. Decent beer list plus a few whites and reds, so it works for a casual dinner too, not only a quick lunch. Nothing here blew me away enough for five stars, but nothing went wrong either. It's a reliable spot to grab a good burger without much fuss. Go on a weekday if you want it quiet, and get the Classic. The fries are worth adding.

I ordered via the Kiosk, but the fries had me scan a QR code and answer some questions. After that, I waited for about 10 ish minutes before I got my food. The ladies were very nice and helpful, and they took care into preparing my food. Garden Burger: I enjoy the impossible meat when I can and this burger was huge. Besides the patty, I also got avocado, the other standard fixings and a fried eggplant. They also had mayo and bbq sauce as my spread. I don't know how, but I was able to eat the whole thing in one setting. It was juicy (as juicy an impossible burger can be) and delicious. The sauce held everything together and the extra spicy mayo I used for dipping brought the extra heat I needed. Overall, a delicious burger. Bulgogi Fries: This was complementary due to their promo and this was a huge portion. They made the bulgogi meat fresh to order and the same with my fries. Their plating was phenomenal. Overall, the fries were crispy and the sauce and meat were delicious. Overall, I can see myself coming here again. I should try a normal burger or I can try their chicken burger next time.

This area has homeless, but it's fine during the day. The only issue I have with this place is the interior design and lighting. It's stale and unattractive with office lighting and horrible off-white colors. If they changed the aesthetic inside and make it more like an old-school burger joint, they would get a lot more business.

I usually order the cod sandwich, and they assured me that it's not cooked in tallow, actually they said it's cooked in olive oil which I'm not sure is correct, but at any rate I didn't taste any beef fat and it was delicious. Also, I have enjoyed their shakes made with cashew milk in the past, but now they use something different, and they still taste pretty good. What the employees on duty told me conflicts with the website, but they said this location uses Oatley oat milk, and they actually showed me the carton to prove it. Now for the service, the man taking my order seemed new as he didn't know much, but was able to answer my questions by asking the manager on duty, which I appreciated. Also he got my shake order wrong but apologized multiple times and got me the correct one. Since I couldn't order fries or onion rings I wanted a side salad, but unfortunately they were out of it! So a questionable experience overall, and I may choose to dine somewhere different next time as there are many restaurants in this strip-mall location, plus Whole Foods across the street. As far as ambiance, they have ample indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio with music, which is partly sunshine, partly shade, and of course popular with dogs and their owners.
