We came at 1pm. We were greeted right away and it didn't take long for us to place our order. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma with a side of fries. The meat was fresh; cooked and seasoned perfectly. I had it made without changing a thing. Excellent decision on my part. My friend ordered the Beef Shawarma with Tahina Salad as a side. She's from New York and she RAVED throughout the entire meal about how much it reminded her of New York. She said all of the flavors were complimentary and delectable! We ordered a side of hummus. We ate there again after having tried it for the first time on Friday. The food is so fresh and delicious! It just may be our new favorite restaurant in the area. I've been a happy patron of their Alpharetta location for years, and now that one of my best friends has moved down the road from this location I've been stopping by here as well. This location has a huge restaurant area with plenty of seating. You order at the counter and then take a seat and they'll call your number for you to pick up your food. Everything is absolutely delicious and you're going to be thrilled with anything you order. The shawarma platter is a favorite of mine and is absolutely huge. Don't forget to check out the attached market. They have a huge counter selling every variety of baklava you can imagine- cashew, walnut, pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate, etc. They also have cheese pies and zaatar pies, kunefe, zalabiya, and wayyyy more. Delicious Palestinian style street food. This is not a Jewish deli. Falafel, meat pies, etc are really good. My fav though is the fresh pita and breads that they sell. You won't find fresher and sometimes you still see steam in the bag. If you've only had lame, hard, and dry pita from the grocery store, then you need to try their bread. Even the most hardcore Middle Eastern stores like Al Madina and Souq sell previously frozen breads. I will drive 20 mins just for this pita. I usually get some fresh feta from their little market and pop by the Indian grocery next door for radishes, mint, cilantro, cucumbers, and tomatoes to make pita wraps at home with hummus and homemade tzatziki. My 5 yr old and just turned 2 yr old will eat a million veggies with that pita. read more

Visited Georgia not too long ago around during the Forth of July weekend and stopped by with some friends. The first thing you notice about the place is how big it is. It is attached to a market that is right next doors. I usually don't order wraps as they tend to always fall apart on me but I was told that theirs was real good so I gave it a shot anyways. I was not disappointed, their wraps had just the right meat to condiments ratio but what I really appreciated about it was the fact that it was pressed like a panini so it couldn't fall apart. I WAS disappointed at the side rice that I got. It was super bland and tasted like white rice that was dyed yellow. They also forgot one of my friend's order so he basically watched us eat the whole time and after he went to check on his food's status, it had been just sitting there in the corner. They forgot to give it to him. In the end, most of the food was good and we were happy. My friends and I are easy going and it doesn't take much to please us when it comes to food but some people would have been reacted much differently in our situation. Next time I am in the area, I would be down to stop by again but this time trying a different side dish! read more

I would've liked to have asked questions before I decided on my order; but I didn't get any kind of warm, welcoming vibe from the counter or kitchen staff - at all... even when I went to pick up my food. The don't miss is the attached grocery store. Now that's worth a trip ANY TIME you're in the neighborhood. Their desserts, cookies and pastries are first rate authentic and made on site. Jerusalem Bakery is a great, authentic Middle Eastern place. They split their space into two sections: the bakery and the restaurant. The bakery looked like gluten heaven. If a celiac went in, they would die of all the gluten surrounding the place. They had all sorts of pastries, desserts, pita, etc. It looked good. The restaurant side looked large and wide open. They had plenty of seats. They also had 2 spits grilling some gyros. The menu looked interesting. They had pizzas, strombolis, and calzones. I wonder if they got confused and thought they were an Italian pizzeria. Of course, they had their Middle Eastern items like hummus, shwarmas, falafels, etc. For the price, they give you a ton of food. I ordered their shwarma combo. The shwarma sandwich was a huge burrito. It reminded me of the 18" burrito challenge I did at Don Pedro's 10 years ago. The meat was grilled and season nicely, and I loved the pita it came with. The combo also came with a huge plate of hummus and pita. The pita was warm, soft, and yummy. The hummus tasted great. They did not skimp out on the olive oil either. It was covered it in. Also, it had some chickpeas. I think 1.5 people can finish the combo together. Since I have a big stomach, I barely finished the entire combo. The combo also came with a standard fountain drink. They didn't have ice in the machine though. Oh well. I think this place is one of the better Middle Eastern fast food places in Cobb County. Ummm - I recently just discovered this place. Safe to say, I'll be coming here weekly or every 2 weeks. I never knew Shawarma could be so good till now. I mean, I've had my fair share of it (maybe like 4 restaurants), but Jerusalem Bakery wins in this food category. It's the bomb dot com. What's also awesome about it: the combo + drink (I get the Chicken Shawarma + hummus) is SO much food for a great price ($8.50ish). Seriously, I can eat half my meal and save it for dinner or next day.... or if I'm really hungry at the time, I'll just eat everything and be in a happy food coma. NOTE: it gets slammed during lunch, I highly recommend going early or coming in for a later lunch. Parking - they have a huge lot. Even during busy times, you'll find one. No worries. Seating - So... this is where you'll get in a pickle. They have indoor and outdoor seating. But if it's not a pretty day outside, you'll probably want to sit indoors. They have a few booths and I think 2 long tables, but... not enough during lunch rush. So busy! But eh, that's a good thing. People tend to eat quickly and leave. Service - The line can get long, but they move quickly. You can also see the kitchen from the register. It's pretty cool! Once the food is done, they'll call your # out. May have to wait like 10 mins to get your food during a busy hour, not bad. People here are also really nice. BTW - get the garlic sauce when you order. Nomnom. I usually use it with the sriracha sauce they have at each table. It's awesome! Food - Chicken Shawarma Sandwich comes out piping hot. The meat is very well cooked & all their additional ingredients go so well with the sandwich. The bread that's used is very fresh & I can tell they go the extra mile to make sure it holds when eating the sandwich. Did I mention it's big?! Definitely can cut it into 2 pieces if needed. Side - Hummus & Pita Bread. To be honest, if I ever crave these 2 items, I'll drive up from the city and get them from here now. One of the best Hummus I've had. The Pita Bread always comes out HOT! They give you 2 slices, which is VERY generous. If at the end of your meal you want to take the Hummus & Bread home, you can. Jerusalem has specific containers. Yum-O! Jerusalem Bakery was exactly what I needed on a cold and cloudy afternoon. This trip was my first time ever trying shawarma (gasp! I know!) and I was really excited to get my hands on it. I love gyros so I figured this couldn't be too far from it. The shawarma was out of this world! I chose to get the lunch combo with chicken, a side of freshly made hummus and pita for dipping, and a drink. The total was $9 and change after tax which wasn't a bad deal considering how much food you got. The sandwich itself is enormous and they give you two large pita halves to dunk in your hummus. Plenty of carb love here! The shawarma was filled with crispy, caramelized meat, veggies, and sauce which all melded into one perfect bite. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now! The restaurant itself is pretty small with Formica style tables and chairs for dining. A large number of people came in for pick-up orders or placed take-out orders while I was there though. The guys behind the counter have it down to a science and were able to handle the traffic extremely well. The bakery cases are sizable and have lots of delectable bites for after lunch. They also have a huge wall filled with homemade baked breads and pitas to take home with you! Made daily in-house, they are super affordable too. Four pitas the size of my face for $2?! Yes, please. The only negative during my last visit was that they were chopping onions while our party was eating. My eyes instantly began to water and stayed irritated for most of the meal. OMG, Jerusalem Bakery, where have you BEEN all my LIFE???!!!! The first time I had shawarma was after a late night dancing in Amsterdam, and those rotating grills were the most delicious things I'd ever seen. I am so sad that my love of ITP has held back my discovery of this place until now. I ordered the chicken shawarma with tabbouleh salad. I love tabbouleh salad; it's so fresh and flavorful that a small portion of it is just enough, and Jerusalem Bakery makes it perfectly. The chicken shawarma was flavorful with just the right amount of everything; the serving size was larger than I thought (imagine a 12 inch burrito), but I ate all of it. I also ordered three mini-baklavas of different varieties and they all melted in my mouth - buttery with just the right amount of sweetness and crunchy nuttiness; this has to be the best baklava in Atlanta. The bakery is so full of fresh bread, cookies and pastries that it is a cookie-dessert-bread-lover's dream. Next time, I'm getting a box of cookies - not just a few mini-desserts! Expect my check-ins for Jerusalem Bakery on a regular basis. The only reason this review isn't five stars is location; I wish it were closer to me. Jerusalem bakery is pretty great! We walked in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic. The chicken shawarma sandwich which comes as a wrap was better than I expected. They pressed the wrap so it was really easy to eat with very little mess. The baba ganoush was delicious as well. The smoked eggplant flavor was on point and the hummus was smooth which went well with my sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the chicken shawarma entrée and he enjoyed his menu choice. He actually had plenty of hummus leftover which made for a great evening snack later that night. Being a huge fan of red cabbage and pickles, it was a nice touch to see both in my sandwich and the amount of sauce they added was just enough to make it tasty. There is outdoor seating which overlooks the parking lot and some tables and booths inside. You're expected to place your order upfront and then wait for your number to be called. The food came out quick and was fresh/hot. We both agreed that this is definitely a place we'll add on our roster of "weekend eats" because the chicken shawarma meat was so tender and juicy. Ok, living in Australia and being a melting pot for different culture and having alot of lebanese, iranian migrants, we have shawarma shops everywhere... Jerusalem bakery is up there with some of the best shawarmas I've had. I usually order lamb shawarmas but they didn't do lamb so i ordered the chicken shawarma, it was excellent. Its was mild, Just perfect for a person who hasn't had a shawarma before. Personally I prefer a lot of onions, tomatoes, added chilli sauce and sometimes I have them put tabbouleh on it... All and all, these guys make excellent Shawarmas. Babaganoush... Amazing ... Also at top of the list with the others I have tasted.. Baklava... I always get my baklava here. Always fresh, best baklava I've had in Atlanta. Pita bread... This is the most authentic pita bread you will ever taste... If you think you know what pita bread taste like, you don't. The atmosphere inside wasn't busy the interior had a Jerusalem feel to it with some I believe hand painting on the walls the place has nice long booths to sit in and next door was a bakery where u can look around before your meal or after for desserts So I asked for a run down of what they offered and I got a clear picture and very tasty options to choose from. The lady offered a combo special they had it consisted of a shawarma either beef or chicken a side ( fires, hummus, or their salad) and a drink for $8.89 I order the beef shawarma with everything( mixed veggie and tahini sauce) with a side of hummus and a drink Food took about 8-10 min give or take a few but came out fresh and prompt. The meat was very tasty I would have preferred a bit more meat in the shawarma for the price when I saw it I compared it to Willies burritos for 8 bucks they add a lot of chicken or beef. That's probably the only thing I had wrong food wise and that really wasn't all that bad of a thing. Other then the minor problems above I would highly recommend it to other. My 3stars are ONLY FOR BAKERY NOT RESTAURANT!!! Got a box of assorted baklava from bakery which was layers of flakey, gooey goodness filled with nuts in the middle layer. It was fresh and delicious. We were pretty disappointed with falafel sandwich and tahini combo which we got at restaurant. Sandwich was average nothing great about it but Tahini salad wasn't fresh and tasted terrible. So got a bit turned around when I tried to get to this spot. If you are coming from S. Marietta Pkwy, you want to turn where there is the no U-turn sign. But you can't do a U-turn! You can, however, do a U-turn at the next break in the median. It looks like you can drive into that lot and that it connects to where Jerusalem Bakery is but it DOESN'T. D'oh. But I wasn't the only one that made that mistake. :-) The guy right in front of me did the exact same thing. Amazing timing. There are two entrances. The one to the left is the bakery. The one to the right is the restaurant. They are connected though so you can enter either way. Ordering is a breeze. Put in your order and sit down. I don't know why some folks were just standing by the register. Just chill a minute. Food is ready super fast. Went to the bathroom and my food was ready about 1 min later. Wow. They will call your number so hold on to your receipt. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich (no pickles) with fries on the side. They only gave me two ketchup packets for my fries. Really? I ended up going back for more later. The cashier gave me a bunch then! The fries were very bland. Thank God for ketchup. The sandwich was huge! I knew there was no way I was going to finish it. And I did end up taking a bit home. The sandwich came with cabbage, tomato, sauce, and perhaps something else. Great choices. Upon first bite, I wasn't a fan of the sandwich. But I got to get a bit more flavor as I got further into it. It seemed that a lot of the sauce just drained to the bottom. Overall, I found the chicken to be bland and the flavor instead came from the toppings and sauce. I also ordered a baklava to go. Unfortunately, I dropped my to-go container coming into the house and it kinda fell apart. But I was able to put most of it back together. It was OK, but I wished it was juicier and sweeter. An easy 5 stars for me, the food here is delicious. There was so much on the menu that I wanted to try, I definitely ended up with way more food than we needed. The beef shawarma wrap was awesome, same with the baba ghanoush. I also tried a meat pie and a few bites of their cheese pizza. I enjoyed all of it, but we took a lot of food home lol. There is a bakery and a market attached to the restaurant with a large selection of Mediterranean goods. The inside of the restaurant was also interesting, it has a large fountain in the main area, wasn't really expecting it from the outside. When you arrive you place your order first, pay, receive a ticket number printed on your receipt and that's the number you listen for. Do not turn away because of the line, it moves fast. The staff has an awesome system. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate that is filled with all kinds of Mediterranean goodies. I mean I literally forgot to take a photo it was so good. My friend ordered a wrap and said it was delicious with fries. The serving size is good and enough for me to split for lunch and dinner. They also have these different sauces including a spicy chili and tahini near where you pick up your food. Try one of each they are good. We had a really good lunch. For the both of us it was $24. Saying that this place did not disappoint is an understatement. I ordered the beef shwarma plate and got a couple baklava from the bakery since I love sweets. The flavors we're exceptional and the dish had great overall consistency. The best part is that its "healthy" for you and you aren't extremely bloated or full afterwards. Hands down one of the best dishes I've ever had from this region. Typically I thought that the plate came with rice, but instead comes with a side of pita-like bread. I wish the bread was more fresh, but it might've been due to timing. Definitely will be visiting again before leaving. read more
