Jerusalem Bakery is an excellent establishment for those looking for something different than the occasional burger and fries. With a great selection of tasty Mediterranean dishes, this spot shall not be missed! I've been here several times (only once since they relocated) and have enjoyed each time. For less than $10 you can have an authentic entree, side and a beverage. I'm a personal fan of the falafel sandwich and the baba ganoush (which comes with pita) but honestly everything I've had is tasty and exquisite. Parking is rather abundant and there is more than enough room for seating whether you're with a large group, an intimate gathering or eating solo. Definitely my go to place from now on. Not to many places can get falafels to tase good. Jerusalem bakery makes falafels taste great. The place looks more like a Colosseum then a restaurant. There isn't much interaction with the staff but with the food and ambience it's my choice of pleasure. If I ate meat I assume it would be delicious. Let me just start off by say this was new experience for me with this type of food! I ordered their chicken sandwich/wrap and a few falafels. The unique thing that I really liked was there was a market connected to restaurant with authentic items. I ordered a few of the desserts from the bakery as well. So, as for the chicken sandwich, I was not really satisfied. It looked amazing but I felt like it was kind of bland and had no flavor. My falafels were good and I enjoyed them much more than the sandwich. They are made with chick peas and light with a little more fluff than hush puppies. The inside of the space was very grand. I love the space. Parking was quite simple. It's a store front so it seemed to have plenty of parking. I plan to revisit and try what my friend ordered (chicken shawarma sandwich) which was packing the unique flavors I was expecting. What can I say about this amazing place. We love it so much we got them to cater our wedding. My favorite thing to order is the Jeruselam Cheesesteak. I feel sick to my stomach after eating here. Because I stuffed myself with ungodly amounts of baklava and hummus- not because they did something wrong. The only thing wrong about this place is that it's not in Nashville- because I live there and you can NOT get true Mediterranean food like what they have here. We are new in the area and a friend recommended this place. Accessable parking and the restaurant is really spacious!! We ordered the beef platter and the falafel (veggie) platter. You order and pay at the register and they call out your order number once ready. The portions were good and resonably priced. The quality of the food was excellent, very tasty, and beautifully plated. I want to highlight the falafel. It was crunchy on the outside and very fresh. DELICIOUS! One of the hidden gems in Atlanta. This place has so much to offer. Great tasting quality food at a reasonable price sure checks all the boxes for me. Took my family out to dinner and we ordered: Chicken and beef shwarmas, chicken and beef mixed shwarma platter and their special of the day chicken kofta platter. We went there around 8:10 on a Sunday night and the place was relatively empty, so we were seated immediately. Our food was ready in ten minutes. Each of the entrees were perfectly cooked, flavorful and plenty to share in a group. Sure, this is a café attached to a market but they sure maintain great quality and customer service. it is located in a plaza so there is plenty of parking. The entrees are priced between 11-13$ which isn't bad considering it will completely fill you up. The marinade on the meat makes it really tender. The platter comes with tabbouleh ( parsley, tomato, cucumber salad), hummus ( delish), baba ghanoush (eggplant dip which is the best). Overall, really impressed. Quick, delicious and easy. Giving three stars for the excellent bakery, but the food is bland, resembling Middle Eastern cuisine only in its ingredients. I detected no spices at all. None of the meats were marinated, but only grilled. The side dishes, with were mostly cucumber-based, we not authentic. The hummus had no tahini or garlic. The basmati rice had only enough turmeric to color it, but not to flavor it. To make it worse, there was some marketing radio program playing on the sound system. Was really excited they had open a new location so finally got a chance to go there few days ago.y first impression pulling into its parking lot was that the place is huge. One side is the restaurant and other side grocery store. Waking in the place is pretty big and there large sitting area. Upstairs is a event hall for parties and event etc. The decor is very simple and there is no general theme to the restaurant. Just a massive place with random furniture and decor. The name may be Jerusalem Bakery but noting points that this is a middle eastern place. The place was very clean however had odd place for drink counter and trash can for food basket and tray return. The music also was proper and they were playing 80's music. Plenty of room for large parties so definitely a plus point for that. What I was really disappointed about was the price and portion size. We order 4 items. Beef shawarma sandwich, felafel sandwich, felafel platter and chicken shawarma platter. Our total little over $40+ dollars. We were kinda of disappointed that there wasn't anything offered on the side like fries or hummus with sandwiches for almost $8. Also disappointed that the platter potions were super small for $12. Everything in the platter seemed to mixed up and mostly filled with lettuce. The food was very tasty but enough to justify the price and portion. I will not likely be returning for restaurant unless there is a huge gathering and we need space to accommodate large group of people. I really hope they will either decrease the price or make portions a little bigger in future. I'm a big fan of this place and come here often for anything involving a sandwich wrap or that amazing pita-like bread. They have a lunch deal that's good -- you get a large meat (or falafel) wrap, a side (get the hummus!!), and a drink for about $8.50. The food is fresh, the meat or falafel are savory and yummy, and the hummus with bread? Oh myyyy, it's good. If you're having a party, stop by and get an order of hummus and a bag of that soft, pita-like bread and you'll be everyone's favorite! The bakery side sells a variety of fresh bread (although I'm clearly obsessed with that pita-like bread so it's the only thing I ever get), but they also have cheese and zaatir pies (these are like little flat pizza pies), which are both great and only a few bucks. BTW, if you can't find the place, it's actually on the BACK side of the plaza on S. Marietta Parkway. Turn down Franklin Road and you'll see a side entrance to get to the back. read more

This place is one of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants. Their pita bread is my all time favorite! That combined with their perfectly scrumptious hummus. They have a very large menu that could satisfy those looking for something more authentic and those preferring something more Americanized. The lunch special is very affordable and comes with a large amount of food and even a re-fillable drink. You won't leave here hungry. I always end up taking a to-go box with me and having something for the next day! Especially when I get some of their larger dishes. Their giant sandwich wraps are amazing and flavorful. Probably the only down side for me is whenever I leave I smell like the food there for the rest of the day. At least their food smells delicious. The food tastes great and it's my go to lunch spot on the regular. The shawarma isn't always consistent in flavor, but good over all. It gets really busy during lunch time. The service on the other hand could be improved. Most of the staff have a really bad attitude, as if they were doing you a favor by serving the food. The girl at the register with the long hair has a really bad attitude consistently. They do a really great job at making you feel unwelcomed. Review about the Grill side of the house: Okay, Yelp...you failed me. This was such a let down! I came here to grab some quick takeout one evening. After waiting 15 minutes to place my to go order, I had to wait 45 minutes for my chicken shawarma. ITS PREMADE!! The shawarma was disgusting. I have traveled in the middle east, and that was unlike any shawarma presentation I've ever seen....and it was unappealing and the taste was awful. A pile of very mediocre hummus with a huge pool of oil, with some very unflavored dark meat shawarma and psychadelic green sauce. Additionally, their falafel was very undesirable. The pita bread was good, and their bakery goods on the other side looked appetizing. After waiting my 45 minutes and demanding my food (or a refund), it was slung at me so I could take my screaming baby home. A little service or apology would have been nice, but I wasnt holding my breath. So, that being said, I'd avoid this place. Its just not good. There are FAR better places for shawarma and falafel around. read more

I had a hard time deciding between two and three stars for this review- Jerusalem Bakery does have fantastic "fresh from the oven" breads, but the restaurant side of the house has much less to be happy about. My partner Michael and I stopped in a few months back for some fresh baked flat breads. The staff was very helpful and friendly, making several recommendations. We went home with a few flat breads and a date stuffed loaf; enough to snack on for a few days. The flat breads were pretty good, but very oily. I had every intention to go back and try out a few more breads, plus I wanted to try out the restaurant. Yesterday was my chance! After some solid gym time, Michael and I decided to head over to Jerusalem Bakery for a late lunch. I ordered a chicken shawarma combo; Michael ordered a chicken shawarma plate and a dessert. We paid, took our receipt, fetched some water and had a seat. Minutes later, Michael's dessert was brought to the table. He was pretty hungry so he started right in. I asked what the dessert was and he had no clue. I checked out his receipt to see an item titled "harisah", which is an Arabic semolina cake. It was good: nice and moist, but non-descript flavor. We finished that off and continued to wait for our lunch. I noticed there were only two people working behind the counter: the woman who took our order and money, and a guy who seemed to be preparing the food at a snail's pace. We waited, and waited, and waited. The guy and woman would vanish now and then... come back and prepare some more food. The minutes ticked by, still no food. I finally saw the guy slice off some chicken, presumably for shawarmas... but then he'd disappear again! Had we not prepaid for our lunch, we probably would have just left. Finally, after what must have been nearly 20 minutes of waiting, the food finally arrived (keeping in mind that there was only one order in front of ours). I had hoped that after waiting as long as we did, the food would at least be worth while; it was not. My shawarma combo came with a choice of a side. I opted for hummus. My shawarma lacked any sort of discernible flavor; just low quality, bland chicken stuffed with various veggies, sauces and spreads which really didn't add anything too the overall dish except for a copious amount of oil. The side of hummus, while tasty, was literally drowned in a flavorless low quality olive oil. The round of flat bread accompanying the hummus was by far the stand out item: warm, soft, delicious. Michael's shawarma plate looked like something I might have very easily vomited up after this meal. The plate was coated in the same oil drowned hummus and then topped with a tossed mixture of the same flavorless oily meat along with some veggies and some additional oil. Even if it had tasted good, the presentation was just abysmal. To summarize, if judging Jerusalem Bakery on the bakery operation alone, I would give it a solid three stars; maybe even four. However, my less than stellar experience at the restaurant (horribly slow prep time, oil, oil, oil, low quality food, flavorless meat) would result in only one star. Go for the bread, skip the restaurant- this city has FAR better middle-east food elsewhere. read more

First of all, let me say this: these guys are good at what they do. The food is very solid, and their service is on-point. In fact, I come here at least once every 2-3 weeks for lunch since I work nearby. So far, I've had their shawermas (beef and chicken), falafel, hummus, tabouleh, bean salad, various pies (spinach, meat, cheese), baklava, and the honey cake. They were all good in terms of freshness. More often than not, however, they lack punch when it comes to flavor. Here's what I ultimately base my ratings on: *4-stars = I will drive out of my way to come eat here with friends on weekends. *3-stars = I like the place and will continue eating here, but only if I'm in the area. If I lived in Cobb, this place would probably be a regular spot in the rotation (and technically, it already is). The thing is that I don't live in Cobb, and if craving Middle Eastern on weekends, I would rather drive to Roswell/Sandy Springs (several great options there) or head towards Ameer's near Emory. OMG - My Palestinian friend turned me on to this place! Visited the bakery and got some of the freshest pita bread to bring back home to enjoy. It even stays good after keeping it in the freezer for a month or two! My friend literally buys 12 bags and keeps it in the freezer for her big family. We decided to have a late lunch there and got the chicken shawarma plate with hummus and it comes with pita bread. There's no way I could finish the shawarma - it's a very good amount of food and could be shared among two females. The shawarma is stuffed with chunky pieces of chicken and salad and some sort of dressing sauce. Inside is not much to talk about (other than it is clean) but the food def makes up for it. I've seen this place before, but I've never stopped in. Decided to grab some takeout on my way through. The parking lot is currently undergoing some repairs/construction so one entrance is closed. The parking lot is pretty big, so you should be able to easily get something on the opposite side. The place itself is pretty big. When I went in, I wasn't greeted or anything, but the woman behind the counter was pleasant. Before leaving, I ventured over to the grocery side. While there were several people who appeared to be working, no one said a word to me. Nobody asked how I was, did I need help finding anything, etc. It's ok, but I did feel that everybody gave me the "I'm busy" vibe so even though I wanted to buy some bakery items to try, I didn't. Maybe next time. As far as the food goes, my order was (mostly) correct. We tried the mixed grill platter along with tabouleh, rice, hummus, and pita. They were really nice about switching out the baba ghanoush which I am not a fan of. The hummus is pretty good. The pita was a little sad for me, it's just one big pita, not pieces or anything and not warm or toasty or anything. But it tasted ok so that's a plus. When I opened the tabouleh, it did not look fresh, however, when I tasted it, it actually did taste very fresh. Idk how that worked out, but I think it just wasn't as liquid as some taboulehs can end up so I thought it had been sitting and dried out, but the taste was actually pretty good. The mixed grill was ok - the kofta is definitely my favorite. The beef was a bit chewy and not the easiest to eat. The chicken kabobs come in a tender size, which isn't very appealing to me. When I think chicken kabob, it's either ground chicken (like a kofta version but with chicken), or it's chicken cubes. It's not tenders. But it's fine and seasoned ok, just falls apart a little weird because of the size/cut. Both the online menu and the paper menu say the mixed grill comes with grilled tomatoes and onions but mine didn't and I noticed several pictures here that didn't show them either so I guess it's not a thing, but it would be nice if the menus were more accurate. Overall, we got a lot of food but it was a little pricey. I know halal meat costs more and if it's tasty and perfect, then every once in a while it's ok. I like to support small, local shops so I would definitely go back to this establishment and probably stick to other types of entrees that give a little more variety without extra spending (ie, the plates with one type of meat come with a variety of sides for a fraction of the cost). read more

Jerusalem Bakery is a good restaurant, and I really enjoy eating their food. The food is authentic, generally delicious, and a joy to eat. My favorite dish when I went was the beef shawarma sandwich, and I learned to love the tabolli salad. I have been branching out trying more exotic food, and trying to get as close to authentic as possible. And this place fits that bill perfectly! I went in and ordered a chicken shawarma and that was possible the best food item I have eaten this year, I would go back just for that. The meat and sauces and vegetables were just all delicious and you definitely will not get flavor like that anywhere else in the Marietta area. I tried their baklava which was amazing as well, highly recommend this place for food if you're looking for something new. As for service, they are great, and fast, everything you can see is being made fresh. They do get crowded around lunch, but they handle it very well. So no complaints there. As for the atmosphere, it's the typical hole in the wall place (which are the best in my opinion) and is clean. Jerusalem Bakery is a hidden little gem that I never would have known existed if it weren't for word-of-mouth. This is the kinda place you go out of your way to eat at- too cool for OTP? More Falafel for us, I suppose. I've had the falafel here, as well as the tabbouleh and both are amazing. I could eat this falafel daily and never grow tired of it- the combo of the patties with the tangy pickles and the tahini is spot on!
