Disappointing Customer Service.... Jesse's helped us last year fix our dryer without complaints. However fast forward 9 months later and the same problem happened again which was concerning given we just had it fixed by them. (Two screws popped out from back and dryer made loud noises and burning smell, so was concerned they had not properly tightened the parts back together the first time ) Their windows of time are large, in which I understand given the nature of their business, however I work in health care as a medical provider directly with patients and it's difficult for me to just "leave the office" very easily. So I had to take my own PTO time to leave work to reserve the afternoon for them and waited for their phone call in case they would show up right at 12. I left work at 1215, phone in hand. Never got a call. When I finally contacted them after waiting around 2.5 hours, they said they called "multiple times". I never got a missed call. No voice mail. My phone is in perfect working order. Voicemail wasn't full. I understand technology glitches and is never perfect, however they were completely unapologetic and placed the entire blame on me for my phone "making weird beeping noises". (I work with an interdisciplinary medical team in which I get calls frequently and I have never been told this before). I tried to reschedule however they gave me the same large window, in which I would have to, again, take an entire afternoon off work. I kindly asked for some leniency for a shorter window given the events of today, however without hesitation he refused. Will be taking my business elsewhere unfortunately, but maybe this was a sign given it seemed they didn't completely remedy the problem the first time. read more

Jesse's technician replaced the computer board for our washer and a few days later it stopped working again. Jesse came for the follow up visit and he quickly stated we needed an electrician, not him. He seemed annoyed and emotional. Definitely not able to conduct himself in a professional manner. Our electrician fixed our breaker, but the washing machine still doesn't work. Jesse denied our request for a refund for the computer board, stating we couldn't prove that we didn't need it. He even went so far as to imply I was trying to take advantage of them. Jesse clearly lacks integrity and doesn't stand behind his work. Jesse is knowledgeable but not customer-friendly. He diagnosed a fault in my thermostat that was not regulating. I tried to get him to install a Nest and he said he had installed hundreds, but was not able to get mine to work. Then he wouldn't install a conventional thermostat saying "he needs to go down to his truck to get it and other customers are waiting for him". Finally, he charged me $90 for a $35 thermostat because he had to cover a 90 day warranty, time taken to buy it and carry it in his truck. read more

Wow--Jesse is one of those old school types you wish everyone was like! He's how I imagine independent business owners in the 1950s were: knowledgeable, skilled, proud of his business, to the point, quick with the wisdom (and if you lived in the 50s and things weren't really like that, just let me have my dream). As a first-time home owner, I'm trying to do things right and I've been crawling through my attic changing the filters on my HVAC units up there. The first one, no problem. Second one--no filter! I looked online, tried YouTube blah blah, then checked Yelp and found Jesse. Man, I called that guy and he's like "Where do you live??" I told him. "I'm on the way!" Haha--I could barely start putting up my dirty dishes and clean up before *knock knock* and he's at my front door. Came in, I told him the scoop, and like Sgt. Joe Friday (Dragnet for the young 'uns), he rattles off--"these here are filter grills! Your unit in the attic doesn't need a filter. And look here--the filters you have in them don't fit. You can get 'em at any Home Depot. They'll last ya 90 days but mine at home last me 60 so you better check depending on the traffic in your house!" Me: Wow this is outstanding! That's everything I needed to know. Especially happy I don't have to access that tiny attic crawlspace again. Jesse: Here's my card. And with that, he vanished! Like Santa Claus up the chimney--but Jesse went through the front door. He didn't charge me. What I super appreciated after that was--he is straight to the point. I received a referral for this company on a Facebook community posting for someone to do appliance repairs, specifically for my Kitchenaid refrigerator/freezer. BEWARE of Jesse's a/c & appliance (214) 660-8898!!!! He initially diagnosed the problem as needing to replace a part that controlled the compressor. This part was appx $300. St this point, I believed he knew what he was doing and allowed him to take my broken ice maker to clean & fix. WRONG/BIG MISTAKE He did not stay to see if refrigerator was working or cooling properly & said to wait 24 hrs to report any further problem with. It never cooled & compressor was not on. He came out a 2nd time, and this time claimed I needed a new control panel. This part was $400+ Again, he didn't stay to make sure it was working properly. It never cooled & was not running after replacing this part. I bought a new refrigerator/freezer on eBay, but let Jesse know that I was extremely dissatisfied to be out almost $800 on a refrigerator/freezer that would not work. Jesse told me that he wanted to make it right whatever it took. He said he was 'researching' and realized he'd replaced the wrong control panel because there was a hidden one he missed & that's the one that really needed replaced. He said he would 1) replace this new part at no charge & I could sell the old refrigerator myself or 2) he would buy my old refrigerator from me or 3) fix my ice maker for free. I chose that he buy the old refrigerator from me for the price of all the new (unnecessary) parts he'd installed. He was quick to come pick the refrigerator up (I needed it moved for new one coming), but did not pay me that day and still had my ice maker. Jesse came to hookup my new refrigerator/freezer at no charge due to the above disaster with unnecessary parts. He couldn't hookup the ice maker & water because he needed a line. I scheduled yet another appointment with him to hookup the line & bring my ice maker back. This was trip #5 for what seemingly should have been a simple fix & not require my buying a new refrigerator/freezer. He told me over the phone that when he came out he would determine what, if any, money he owed me for the purchase of my old refrigerator. It ironically works fine now that it's in his home. He hooked up the line for the ice maker & water that is part of refrigerator/freezer. That seems ok right now. However, I noticed water around the floor where the ice maker was put back in. I thought that was odd but thought maybe somehow some water spilled out when they were hooking it up & they just didn't clean it up. I went back in the kitchen about two hours later. There's standing water under my sink and even more now coming onto the hardwoods. I have electronics for the wifi & alarm system under this sink that are getting wet. I've just turned the ice maker off. For this 5th trip, I had to pay a babysitter to be here to let him in, and of course, he didn't leave any money for the old refrigerator he 'purchased.' He's only left me with more of a mess, more headache, more cost & more wasted time in dealing with whatever he's now created that needs fixed. I DO NOT recommend him to fix anything. read more

After reading several positive reviews about Jesse's ability to quickly respond to calls and fix air conditioners, I decided to give him a call. My home air conditioner was blowing hot air and I knew it was leaking but didn't want to face the music or pay an exorbitant amount of money to fix the problem. Jesse came out on a Tuesday morning at the beginning of the window he gave me (if not earlier) and did a quick inspection of my attic and HVAC system. He gave me a few options and I went with a quick fix, which didn't break the bank and will hold me over until the end of summer. AC repairs and replacements are expensive so I truly appreciate him being straightforward and honest with me regarding my options. Living in Texas without AC can be quite miserable and Jesse put me out of my misery rather quickly. I just wish I had called him sooner! read more

Let me start out by saying that I love Yelp. It is like Angie's List but free. I had an HVAC guy I have used for a while, but he was getting pretty flaky over the last year or so, so I turned to Yelp. I contacted Jesse and got a voicemail. As I was leaving a message on the machine, he picked up. It was either close to 5pm or a little after. Anyways he told me to put my request through an email via his website. Once I found his website, I put in a request using his online form. I didn't hear back for a couple of days, so I called him back. He didn't receive my request, so for the person that put the 1 star review, I understand your frustration, but would give him a chance as we have become too reliant on technology and expect it to work every time. Anyways, I had to send him an email directly and this time he got it. I live in Oklahoma City and have a rent house in Dallas, so I need someone to work with the situation. He does take credit cards over the phone, so that is perfect for me. After getting my billing info he made a trip to the house and determined that it was an evaporator fan motor that needed to be replaced. This was a specialty item that had to be ordered. He quoted me $378 for this repair. I was expecting this to get completed by the end of the week, but it was the following week before it was completed and an invoice emailed to me.I am not sure if the part was delayed or that Jesse got super busy, either way it got done before the weather got in the 80s. The flooding may have been part of the reason, but I never asked. A week or so after the repair, I get a call from the tenant saying the air isn't blowing cold air. I called Jesse who told me to email him. The following day he goes to check and identifies the problem as a thermostat wiring. He wasn't sure if he could have caused that, but took responsibility and corrected it without charging me for the repair or the service call. That was awesome and although I feel bad leaving a 4 star vs a 5 star for such a swell guy, the couple of delays may need attention, namely the website not processing all requests. I can vouch that his honesty and customer service are impeccable and he is my new HVAC guy for the Dallas area. read more

I'm not particularly thin-skinned but I found him to be rude and abrupt. I did buy a new one from a different AC company which provides great service. I called Jesse out to fix my refrigerator and due to crappy cell phone service from Sprint, missed our first appointment (my fault). He graciously came out again the next week and fixed refrigerator in under 5 minutes. Since it was an easy fix, requiring no parts and minimal labor, he charged me only the appointment fee which I was more than happy to pay. Mr. Fixit This guy is great. He's been over now to work on 4 different appliances. The first time he came over for my oven, he said he couldn't fix it and didn't charge me! Sure enough, I went out and got a new one. I have a range that isn't very well known. When I had an issue I called the company and requested Jesse to fix it, even though he told me himself that he has never worked on one like mine. They were gracious enough to agree to let him do the warranty work. I trust him that much to request him directly through the manufacture, instead of the "Certified" company that everyone else uses on high end stuff. This guy is great. Highly recommended. He was at my apartment when he said he would be, he was respectful and polite, and wasnt intimidated at all by the total meltdown that I had when he got there (it was a rough moving day). Honest and upfront service! My 9-year old LG front load washer suddenly wouldn't finish a spin cycle early this Sunday morning. I tried a few tips that I saw online before finding Jesse's AC & Appliance on Yelp and sending them a request for a call. Jesse called me later (on a Sunday, no less) and, after a few questions, he said it was likely my control board because there was no error message on the display. But the part was not readily available from his distributors. Jesse's help was unbiased and he didn't push the repair service. He gave me solid information so I could make a decision on repair versus replacement. He also suggested unplugging the washer for a few minutes to try to reset the board - AND IT WORKED! At least for now, I can defer the replacement. But if anyone needs good repair information or service, call Jesse! read more

My first contact with Jesse was in a phone conversation about an appliance problem I had. He said, "Don't waste your money on a service call, you can easily fix it youself." He explained the procedure and I followed his instructions and voila! Done! Jesse is an honest and consummate professional. I called and emailed him two days ago, he called me yesterday to verify where I was located and the nature of my issue (dish washer that wasn't draining). On that phone call he asked me if I had recently replaced my garbage disposal (which I hadn't). He was already zeroing in on the problem. Today he came out, looked under the sink, took off the drain line from the dish washer which goes into the garbage disposal, and said, "The problem is this drain line is clogged from stuff in the garbage disposal, because it was not installed correctly. You can clean out the line yourself or I can do it for you." He showed me how the drain line wasn't setup correctly, and the procedure to clear it out. $45 service call charge, and he taught me several things which will help me address any issues like this again. I'm a handy enough person, if I know what I'm doing, so I *greatly* appreciated that $45 lesson and a chance to find out what kind of man Jesse is. He'll be my first call for any appliance issues from now on. From him showing up, to looking under the sink, to explaining the issue, to me fixing it after he'd left, took all of about 30 minutes. I have had a few bad experiences in the past with AC repair companies, so I feared the worse when our main unit stopped blowing air from the vents. I also did not want to deal with the run around that I've had to deal with when contacting my home warranty company (AHS), so finding an honest, dependable and reasonably priced repairman was my goal. I got some recommendations from friends, but came to Yelp and did some looking and found Jessie's AC & Appliance. After reading most of the good reviews and the couple of bad ones (which seemed more about missed connections rather than a critique of his service), I contacted them both via their web site and by phone. I received a prompt call back and scheduled a time the next day for him to come out. He called before he arrived and he and his assistant arrived slightly earlier than promised. He confirmed the description of our issue as posted on his web site and went up to the attic to inspect. After a quick check, he determined it was a capacitor issue with our air handler and replaced it. I am sitting happily in my now cool home and am grateful for the great service, professionalism and honesty that Jessie displayed. I'm also pretty happy with the cost! Very disappointed with them not standing by their service. Be aware- they warranty their service call for 30 days and parts for 90 days. I was two weeks past 90 days when my freezer part (which they bought and installed) stopped working and they wouldn't take ownership of the problem. We hired Jesse to come out and fix our washing machine at our clinic. We were told it was an easy fix at first and come to find out he had to come back once again to find another solution. No solution was found except to blame us for "pulling the towels out too hard". In regard to professionalism, Jesse was unable to perform in a polite manner even when around our patients within the clinic. He was very loud and unorthodox as well as disrespectful when approached for a final solution. With that said, a refund was requested. We would not recommend services if you have a professional facility in which you need appliances repaired. read more

I rarely write reviews but am compelled to now because of the poor service I received, despite hiring Jesse in the past successfully to change my oven light bulbs. I scheduled an appointment last week to have Jesse come out and look at my faulty HVAC-Furnace, since I was getting sick from the air coming from it. He was very particular about when he could come so I gave him garage code and let him in the house when I was away at work. He fails to call me as agreed to afterward, and not until I sent him a message on yelp past 6PM that night did he call me and say that he looked only at it visually (did not turn the furnace or fan on, did not visually inspect ductwork). I even offer to pay him for a "tune-up" fee out of politeness. Saturday I cannot even turn on the HVAC fan without a strong burning smell coming from the vents, so I send him a message and he calls me with a rude tone of voice saying that he did not do anything to my HVAC except remove 1 screw and look at it. He tells me he will call me the next day (Sunday) to schedule another appointment. He has a very impatient and defensive tone of voice, when I should really be the one worried as my HVAC has been acting very strangely. We end up scheduling an appointment for Monday at noon. Monday comes around, and rather than honor the agreed-to time-frame of Noon, he calls me at 9AM saying he is on the way. He has a very rude tone-of-voice (as I have now come to expect), and says maybe he will call me back at noon. He never called back. I don't feel like I should either... read more
