We stopped here as we traveled through the area knowing it had only three and a half stars. The environment was cute and I so wanted to up their rating. We were off to a great start; the chicken rice soup was DELICIOUS! Next came salads which were fresh and crispy. The balsamic vinaigrette was bland, but no biggie. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan and loved it! I ordered the turkey dinner special which was generously portioned. My family and I went to Jessica's for lunch after church. My parents have been going there for years, but I hadn't been there for a long time. Upon entering, we noticed a huge Christmas tree that really added to the holiday feel. There was also a display case showing off various types of baked goods near the counter. There seem to be three main dining areas. After we were seated, our waitress gave us a menu that had a lot of options. I ordered a burger that had a Mexican theme. My family ordered blueberry cheesecake pancakes, a chicken wrap, the California omelet, and the fried shrimp platter. The Mexican burger was okay. It was very over-powered by the Chipotle mayo that they doused it with. However, the tortilla strips added an interesting contrasting texture. The blueberry pancakes were not bad. They were extremely sweet, as you might expect, and they did not need any syrup. It tasted more like a dessert than a main dish. The blueberries offered an acidity that helped to balance out the sweetness. My mother liked the omelet, but she said it wasn't overly amazing. My dad like the fried shrimp, but again, nothing special. My sister also liked the chicken wrap. My parents and sister also liked the raspberry jello that they offer as a side item. Overall, the food was what you might expect from a family restaurant. With a menu so big, it is difficult to make exceptional dishes. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was good. We went at a peak busy time, but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered breakfast, and it came out super quickly. We didn't have the best service, but that's understandable since the place was packed and they had bus boys pouring coffee. Our food was really good, I had the cinnamon roll French toast plate, and this is the best flavored French toast I've had in this area. My partner had the steak and eggs, and his steak was over cooked, but you kind of expect it in these type of restaurants. My only disappointment was the dessert we decided to get, I didn't realize until we paid that it wasn't made in house, and it was just alright. Tldr This place has gone downhill in the last year or so. Avoid. Hit up Sophias instead down the road. When I arrived to deliver an order, the rude hostess told me it would be a few minutes. Mind you, I was a few minutes early. So I waited a few minutes. Still not ready. I asked when it would be ready, she laughed in my face and said a few minutes. At this point I was starting to feel myself get angry. I can wait, but laughing? Nope. Canceled. So I asked the manager why it was taking so long after they finally handed me the order that I was now latw to deliver. She laughed at me and said it was on time. Okay!! Great. Thanks for the excellent service! Also, the kids eating their dinner wouldn't wash their hands before handling customers food. Out of all the places in town to choose from, this is your best bet. It's huge and there's lots of space for big groups. This is also great place for kids. 20 those kind of places that the menu has everything under the sun, so it's hard to decide what you want to have to eat. I was told to go for the omelettes and that's what I did. I chose the first, and it was really good. Came with big chunks of avocado and it was very filling. Prices are horrible. 2.19 for toast thats apparently not included with breakfast 2.49 for mediocre coffee Sandwiches @9.49 that include only one side instead of the usual fries and soup for that price anywhere else. I suppose the high price tag was for the privilege of receiving my fries in a pencil holder that ensures they will be cold within minutes. I wanted to rate this one higher but just couldn't. I've been here several times and it is just plain average. According to the literal Yelp scoring system, in short I've had better. That said, Jessica's is not without its charm. A decent menu, clean venue, and decent staff it is a pleasant dining experience that brings back the late 80's / early 90's with my grandmother. Good place for the family and kids. Just won't knock your socks off. If there was at least one glaring thing that would drive me to come to Jessica's other than my proximity at the time I would probably rate higher. I think its a good spot for the true locals, but not worth going out of your way. The place could use a few updates to be more on par with other dining options out there. read more

This is probably my favorite family restaurant in the area! I had Jessica's skillet and it was loaded with meat and vegetables. The rosemary potatoes went well with it! The marble rye toast was my favorite toast and they offer a variety of Dickinsons fruit preserves to top the toast. I personally liked the orange marmalade and the apricot. Coffee was good with a variety of flavored creamers. Our waitress was great and came to the table very often. The bus boy was also very good at delivering coffee and water refills. Truly average to slightly below for food. Service was adequate. That's about the sum total for 1/2 dozen visits. Breakfast is probably the best bet. Lunch is not so great. Dinner is just average. Breakfasts. Service for a family group (6) was a challenge. Four (4) people or less was more manageable for the wait staff. At least the food was good, but slow to the table. The two (2) children liked the waffles. Parents liked the skillets, even though the potatoes were slightly greasy and undercooked.. The Grandparents liked the Hash & Eggs. Bacon was extremely chewy. Orange, tomato and grapefruit juices were cold (cold is good, in this case). Lunches. We had soup and sandwiches. Soups tasted a little scorched and served lukewarm. The BLT had old wilted lettuce. Bacon on BLT was very crispy. Dinners. Just OK - the veggies (straight out of the can) - so mushy you could make paste. Can't be certain, but the mashed potatoes tasted like they were out of a box. The entrees and potatoes swam in the gravy, but tasted OK. We know that gravy can conceal a lot of issues, but I'm a big "Sop it up guy". One place setting's fork had something yellow on it, I think it was dried egg. Diner fare at best. Probably need to have the kitchen staff pay more attention to the quality of food: bacon that was like beef jerky, undercooked skillet potatoes, overcooked veggies, limp lettuce and extreme gravy - possibly a chef / cook that cares could improve the food. Service. Uneven service ranged from very good to fair. Pay better attention to silverware and place setting cleanliness. Overall: NO AlkaSeltzer or Maalox needed, just an owner who wants to take a hard look at how much better the restaurant could be. Pricing was high for the quality of food served. I went here for breakfast a couple days ago and got the ultimate combo with French toast, sausage links, eggs and potatoes. It's really hard for me to give them a bad review as I have gone here for like over 3 years. The wait staff is very friendly, and they have the best coffee service in the area and the coffee is good too. The French toast and links were fine as well But this day the eggs tasted old and tasteless even with me putting some salt on the eggs, and the potatoes were not crispy at all. Limp like I guess. I guess everyone has a bad day, but I am still paying full price every time. I hope they see this review and just try and correct this or try to limit it from happening. My hubby and I are visiting the area. We stopped at Jessica's just cuz it was close to where I we are staying but found it to be a great place to eat. I ordered the Bacado Omelette which was Bacon, avocado and cheese with sour cream, salsa and FRESH pico de Gallo on the side. It was so yummy! So much bacon and avocado. i love jessica's restaurant, but the really let me down today. i ordered delivery through door dash food for me & a friend was totally raving about it. let this be a warning, the food is only good when your dining in. don't recommend carry out. we ordered a skillet & it came with out the key ingredient-potatoes. they put the toast in the plastic container with the skillet so by the time we received the item it was soaking wet bread. plain waffle came so soggy it fell apart when lifting to plate, the kid didn't eat any of the soggy waffle. i'm mostly disappointed about the potatoes, so i called the restaurant to ask them why it came with out the key ingredient & she said she just didn't see it. i had it in the notes because that's the only way to specify which potato you want & they all come with potatoes so why wouldn't she check? they said call door dash there's nothing they can do & door dash is only offering to refund half of the price of the skillet. so yeah, i'm disappointed. still love jessica's but won't be ordering carry out. all quality went out the window. read more

Good breakfast food...large portions! I had the Scandinavian Pancakes and could only finish one...I would have liked a little more hazelnut spread but overall good. Very disappointed to say the least. First off, our table was dirty, my fork had dried egg from previous use. Our 2 side dishes of rosemary potatoes were COLD, my over medium eggs were well done, I've returned them and only one of the 2 eggs was new the 2nd was the same egg I had returned. The waitress did not care. I called the manager explained the situation, she offered to bring me something else, at this point I did not want anything else from this place. She apologized but did not make an effort to get my food done right and hot, like it should be. Hire cooks and people that CARE about their jobs, not only to collect a paycheck. I love variety and having options! The helping size is usually large enough to take home a good amount for lunch next day or "second supper" if you are a hobbit. The wait staff is friendly and the owner usually makes a habit of stopping by our table to say hi and thank us for coming in.
