I thought that airlines replaced damaged luggage which was checked. Apparently not JetBlue/Sacramento. On June 10, 2015 I was returning from a business trip to Las Vegas (with a brief layover in Long Beach) to Sacramento. Upon retrieving my wardrobe bag from the carousel I noticed a large rip near the top. The individual sitting in the JetBlue baggage office when I entered said she didn't know how to handle such a situation and would have to get a supervisor. Really? Shouldn't this be a part of your training for the job? When the supervisor arrives she begins to blame the rip on the age of the bag...really? (the bag was 3 years old tops) She then says that JetBlue will give me a $75 credit on my next flight with them. I explained that this does me no good because the production company I work for pays all my air fare...that I would still be out the expense of a new bag. I suggested that the airlines talk to the arranger of my flights and work things out with them. She then says "NO WE HAVE TO GET THIS SETTLED NOW!". What am I buying a used car here? I didn't appreciate this. I had been on the road for 10 days and was bleary eyed and tired with an hour drive ahead of me to get home. I reluctantly said okay. She said an email would be sent to the arranger/purchaser of the flight as to how to access the credit. Weeks passed and no email was received. I placed several calls to JetBlue and was told the emails were sent. I explained that they were never received by the arranger/purchaser of the flight. On August 18, 2015 I emailed JetBlue explaining the situation and asking how it could be resolved. Other than an auto-responder email I have received nothing. I believe I have been more than generous in the amount of time I have allowed to pass before writing this review. I realize it is probably too late to ask to be compensated for a new bag as I indeed did agree to the credit which at this point looks like will never be issued. Not to mention I was charged $25 to check the bag that was damaged. If JetBlue damages a bag of someone reading this review I wish you a better outcome than I experienced. read more
