We visited last night for the first time for our anniversary dinner. We will definitely be back! Everything is beautifully decorated and cozy. Lauren was our server and she was really great. We started with oysters and the focaccia with butter (incredible). I got the crab cake special and my husband got crab rice. We finished with the pot de crème for dessert. No kidding, I loved every single thing we tried. Can't wait to go back. Thank you for helping us have a special evening!

These were the cleanest, tastiest raw oysters I have ever had in my life. Seriously- from NC, Maryland, and Massachusetts. And listen, if you think ordinary saltiness are tasteless and not worthy of your oyster- try these. The saltines are dipped in butter and then baked. Okay- we asked for extra. We had baked Oysters Bienville as well. This is umami at its finest. A mouth explosion to remember. Don't forget the green salad. Butter lettuce with a mild vinaigrette that leaves you wondering about the recipe. Seriously a terrific experience-from Cocktail to Dessert. Will be back again and again.

My wife and I returned to Jettie Rae's, her choice, which I fully seconded. We were a bit early, but were seated in the main dining room right away. Impressive selection of bottles in the bar. Our server appeared as soon as we were settled, and made some recommendations from their specials list. My wife ordered a margarita, the green salad with a passionfruit vinaigrette, and the fish and chips. I ordered a glass of French chardonnary, the red snapper crudo appetizer from the specials list, and the red drum with farro, turnips, watermelon radishes and tomato-guajillo broth. The margarita was great, it would put many Mexican places to shame. The French chardonnay was very good, not as oaky as my usual Sonoma County whites, but very smooth and a great pairing with the crudo. Ah, the red snapper crudo. That was a Wow! dish and the high point of the evening. Intense, briny and yet very light on the tongue. The red drum was good - I've only ever had drum once before, at K-Pauls in N'awlins. It was very good, but could have used maybe a bit of heat for my taste. I also ordered the Dark Chocolate Pot de Creme for desert, and that was wonderful - rich, decadent, very deep chocolate. A wonderful evening, a place I would not hesitate to take out of town friends and family.

Stopped in for a weeknight dinner intending to have oysters from the raw bar and the special. (Po boys on Thursdays.) Instead of a Po boy though, I ordered the ceviche and got a 'whoo boy' - a tomato-corn ceviche that missed in every way. (Oysters were great though.) The bartender was gracious and removed it without anyone asking for it, so I have no complaints. We are regular diners here and will continue to be. The vibe is that nice. But I don't recommend the ceviche.

We decided to celebrate my birthday with a nice dinner at Jettie. I made reservations online but arrived an hour earlier and was sitting right away. They sat us in the covered patio area. The temperature was just right to enjoy a meal. We started with the Oysters Bienville, and the juice from the ingredients ehance a overall taste from the oysters. For my entree, I had the Rock Shrimp Spaghetti. The noodles were delicious and made fresh. You could capture the taste in each bite. My favorite new spaghetti yummy. I was able to request a drink, not on the menu long island tea cocktail. Oh, yea, the bread was freshly baked, too. They do have free parking, which is a plus.

This is one of our regular spots as Asheville locals. In fact, we pretty much come every Wednesday we love it so much! Mitch and Melvin are tremendous bartenders and everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They have a regular rotation of in season oysters and the wine list is impressive, yet affordable. Get the rose and fish and chips if you are new. We also sit at the bar, if available as the ambiance is great and you can watch the kitchen work. This is a top 5 Asheville restaurant for my wife and I.

    Pot de crème

Excellent service , upscale but relaxed atmosphere. First couple times I visited it was good but never stood out as a short list restaurant for me. Tonight changed my opinion. Food was fantastic especially the oyster bienvinedo (oyster Rockefeller) and my snapper dish which was best I've had. Chimchurri and sauce with the snapper very well balanced. Whole snapper but easy to eat with the bigger bones. Homemade key lime pie and dark chocolate pot de crème great as well.

First time here in town from Charlotte. Yes it's true what they say the best seafood in Asheville. We started with crab cakes you get two crab cakes on top of succotash flavored well with not a lot of breading great choice. I had the whole flounder. It comes with multi-colored cherry tomatoes and other vegetables across the top it was cooked to perfection the skin was crispy and the flesh was meaty. The Caesar salad is a must if you like anchovies.

I would have given this place a five had it not been for one item on the menu. And only one part of one item at that. Raw bar was fabulous. Clams and oysters all A++. Mains and appetizers also amazing. Only nit was the anchovies they served with the focaccia. At a place where the food quality is as good as it is, don't serve shitty anchovies. They were not the high quality I would expect at a place like this.

You can never go wrong at this spot. I have visited several times and it is always great! This last time our waiter was so kind and knowledgeable. He cares about my special requests and made sure our meal was amazing! This place has the whole package, ambiance, service and fantastic food!

We had a wonderful time visiting Jettie Rae's! The service was great. It didn't feel rushed but she was incredibly attentive. I was so excited to see Woodman's clams from Essex and had to get them. They still tasted like the ocean- delicious! We had the striped bass, which was cooked perfectly, the skin was nice and crispy. The peas and carrots were great editions. We also had the scallops, which were cooked great!

    Key Lime pie

Wow. We came here for our anniversary dinner. Jetti Rae's did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated right away. The vibe was chill. Warm lighting with a serene atmosphere. Food was beyond delicious! Fish n chips were cooked to perfection. The baked oysters and cauliflower were both pleasant surprises. The raw oysters were some of the best we've had. Key Lime pie transported us back to the Keys. Christian, our server, was very attentive and super friendly. We enjoyed his company throughout dinner. A wonderful way to celebrate us! Cheers

Excellent seafood, grossly overpriced. Tourist trap. Owner is responsible for the rapacious pricing.

    Chargeilled oysters available?

No, no char-grilled oysters at present. Just raw oysters on the half shell ($4 to $4.50 each), Oysters Bienville ($22), fried oyster po-boys ($21) and oyster shooters ($10). However, in late summer or early fall 2023, Jettie Rae's did add a new…

The space itself is incredibly cool, featuring exposed concrete, a massive back bar, a vintage print shop sign, and my personal favorite--a disco ball chandelier. If it's still available when you drop in, definitely try the "Last Time Lover" and "Smells Like Green Spirit." Their espresso martini is probably the best I've ever had -- perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Every bartender here is incredibly knowledgeable. They can make anything you ask for and then walk you through the history and origins of the cocktail like you're getting a mini masterclass with your drink. The bar itself is beautiful, with an impressive selection of spirits and a menu full of creative cocktails featuring ingredient combinations you'd never expect to work together -- but somehow they absolutely do.
