Good Afternoon! - I'm what they call a "Half Back" - We moved back up North from Florida; - So -…read moreObviously, I've been anxious about finding an "Appropriate Barber" who could live up to "Mike" - My Bukharian Master Barber in New York - "Mike" - I think it is safe to report that "Brian L." has lived up to and in many regards raised the bar. My review is based on my visit - Friday afternoon - 5 April 2024. Don't be a fool - This place gets busy for good reason; - Caliber's is "Classy" and employs only Quality and Skilled Barbers; They offer an array of Men's Grooming Services - which I'm looking forward to trialing in the next few months. I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of scheduling my service. I spoke with "Genevieve" - She was extremely patient and courteous, I had to move my appointment around a bit. Upon arrival at my visit, I was offered a cold and refreshing beverage of my choice and they have an incredibly comfortable seating area to relax. The entire experience is catered to the Customer and you start to feel comfortable and relaxed - the moment you walk through the door. This Barber Shop is clean, spacious and shouts an old school vibe; - Just a very classy place. Parking "Could" be a bit of a challenge; - But, just relax - I promise you that you will find something. Worst case scenario, they have some paid options with minimal cost and/or you can find something on the street. This is really a hopping neighborhood! This wouldn't be a "Proper" review if I didn't take a minute to talk about the "Star of my Experience" - Master Barber "Brian L." - I'm not sure if I was a Customer / Client and/or Patient - But, "Brian" was just a star; - I have to confess - I cheated, "Brian" received tremendously exceptional feedback about his personality, service delivery and Master Barbering Skills from my boy "Mark" - who stumbled upon him - on his quest to find the perfect haircut and shave. I went with the Full Service Haircut; - I really wanted to get a Shave as well - But, I arrived with "Insufficient Beard" for that! - Anyways - Lavender infused Hot Towel send me into Nirvana; Brian shaved my neck perfectly. Overall - the entire experience was pampering and relaxing - every aspect of it. Let me wrap it up, I'm happy to report - I found my Barber in Charlotte - "Brian L." - I also found my Barber Shop. A+ / 5 Stars / Cinco Estrellas! ;-)

At the end of the appointment, I was asked to sign a sheet to book to schedule my next appointment without a deposit. However, no one contacted me for over three weeks. Because of that, I had to go online myself to book and was required to pay a deposit. Due to the scalp tension and significant hair breakage for my first visit, I decided to give my scalp a break and not proceeded with the next session. I canceled one month in advance. I reached out to request a refund of my deposit or a courtesy to use it as a credit for a future date, at least a couple of in the future. I explained I only booked online because no one followed up after I signed the appointment sheet as instructed. The company only offered to push out my appointment for two weeks later to use my credit. I did want to keep my appointment, however, I knew I needed time for my scalp to rest and to let my hair grow out a bit more, which is why I requested to use the credit in the future, within 3 months. However, since the company was being extremely inflexible and not understanding, I expressed that I wanted a refund on the deposit. The management refused to offer any such courtesy or return the deposit. While, the braids looked great aesthetically, they defeated the purpose as a protective style. They were not functional and were far too tight, even though I told the stylist I had a sensitive scalp, and it was my first time getting braids. I also experienced a lot of painful tension on my neck from my baby hair at the back of my head being braided. Additionally, the styling gel that was used also caused significant breakage to my natural hair, which was very distressing. Overall, the lack of communication, poor time management, tight styling, disorganized scheduling at time of appointment, and inflexible refund policy outweigh the nice looking braids. The company prioritizes their profits over customer satisfaction. I could've been a long time and loyal customer had I gotten a tiny bit of grace and empathy.

During my first visit, I requested a design the nail tech said she could do, but ultimately could not, so I settled for a simpler design and paid without issue. For my fill-in appointment, I arrived on time for my 5:30 PM appointment, but my service did not begin until 6:00 PM. I showed the same nail tech the design I wanted, and she confirmed she could do it. Unfortunately, she struggled throughout the service, repeatedly removing and restarting the design. By the time the salon was closing, my nails were still not finished. After nearly two hours, around 7:45 PM, I politely asked for the design to be removed and a plain polish applied instead. I did not raise my voice or cause a scene, and I even apologized for the tech having to stay past closing. I paid in full and left calmly, although I was unhappy with the service. The following morning, I received a text from someone claiming to be a manager, stating that I was BANNED from the salon like I'm some kind of criminal. I found this unprofessional and disappointing. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I was patient, communicative, and understanding, even when the service could not be completed as agreed. I would have appreciated an apology or accountability from an incompetent nail tech rather than being dismissed for calmly expressing dissatisfaction with a service that was not delivered as promised. What I received instead was deflection and lazy management. Sounds like a lawsuit for discrimination. Be blessed.

The person at the front desk (owner or manager) was very rude and literally made me GO HOME TO GET MY BADGE, and the way she told me I would have to do this was rude and condescending. That is obviously not a discount to make their business friendly to nurses, as most nurses do not have their badge on them at all times. I will not go back here nor would I recommend any of my colleagues to come here. It was quite a let down. I expect better service especially from a place that pretends to care about nurses and they hard work that we do.
