GO HERE. At first, I walked into Ballantyne nail salon around the corner and inquired about a mani pedi combo.. $45! Eeek! I opt d to go elsewhere and found this Cute little nail salon! And the price was $35. Score! :-). They do a very nice thorough job. Spent a lot of time shaping and cleaning up my nails. They have nice massaging chairs and provide massage oil and lotion rubbing. I only went into remove my acrylic set But service was very good. The nail tech was friendly and conversational. Prices are very fair. Just a warning that they no longer do acrylic sets, they are only a manicure and pedicure location. I definitely plan to go back again to try a pedicure next time. read more

Intimate, small salon with friendly staff who really want to take their time on the details. I live the atmosphere and the salon does NOT smell like headache-inducing chemicals. My friend and I get the gel manicures. They are my new favorite thing! I have a really intense jib ad a veterinary nurse, and the gel actually does hold up for two weeks. Also, the peppermint pedicure treatment is a godsend for my tired feet and legs. The end result was a really good pedicure. However, the experience wasn't great. Water was barely warm and there was no 'spa' to it. It was hot in the salon and it lasted longer than typical in my opinion. More than an hour. I brought my own polish and without asking a thinner was added which was really frustrating. Also, $35 for only a pedicure is high in many cities and this one just wasn't worth it. read more

Was so pleasantly surprised to find this gem - it's tucked down a side street with a few other shops, and the inside is so small and cozy that you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. There was no wait but I would imagine that could be an issue for them at busy times. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they didn't ask me what type of pedicure I wanted -- just gave me a basic one. It wasn't until I was drying my nails that I saw on the wall an entire menu of pedicures. It is hidden by a column if you are sitting in the pedicure chairs! So I would have elected for a more deluxe treatment. No biggie, though, I know for next time! read more

I thought I'd finally found my nail salon, but 3 weeks out I sadly admit I must keep looking. Kim is the owner and very sweet, attentive. She does acrylic nails the 'old way', meaning she files by hand NOT machine. I had no real issue with that. I was the only one in the shop on a Thursday mid-afternoon. The shop is immaculately clean...VERY IMPORTANT to me. She did use the same utensils on me out of a drawer, but I have no problem asking for new and paying for them or bringing my own. I left happy and with a beautiful set of acrylic nails. Five days out, I noticed a nail lifting at the cuticle. I called and she gave me immediate spot to 'repair'. On day 12 I had 4 more nails 'lifting' at the cuticles...where she wasn't able to hand file close enough to the cuticles to keep the level as they grew out. Before I could call her I caught one of the lifting nails in my hair, while running my hand through it, and it ripped my real nail back to where it lifted off my nail bed...OUCH to the 10th degree. I'm NOT going back...I can do this badly on my own. read more

Will not be going back. Do not recommend. My two sisters and I went to royal Nails for the first time. Our usual place was closed and no other salons were answering. We made an appointment for 3:30, and got there around 3:25. We were told to pick our colors which we did quickly. There were three people already there and only three workers. We sat down and waited for an hour and a half before they started us. Around 4:30 another woman came in and they told me to move to another seat so that this woman could sit down. I moved, but shortly after, I asked when they thought we'd be done because it was 4:50 and we hadn't even started. I then showed them the style I wanted and they said they couldn't do it. I had to settle for less because I had already been there for almost 2 hours and other places would close soon. They finally started me and my sisters once I'd asked three times. They quickly did my sister's and my nails. But my older sister's took another hour. Will not be going back. This trip took 3 and a half hours of my last day of break. Do not recommend if you're going for a quick trip. They don't have a big range in styles, and their painting is average at best. I will definitely not be going back. read more

By far the best pedicure I have ever had. The place is small but very clean. The cost was reasonable especially for the amount of time spent on my pedicure. The lady gave by far the best leg and foot rub and massage and this was for the regular pedicure. I will definitely be a regular here. The ladies are kind and focus on quality. The last couple of pedicure places I have been to in charlotte I have not been been impressed. Here at this nail salon the ladies take their time and care about making the customer happy and relaxed. I had a terrible experience at royal nails. The pedicure tub water was freezing cold. The nozzle on the tub was broken and squirting water everywhere and got my purse and shoes soaking wet. The staff made customers wait for 20 minutes and then turned them away because they did not have time to do their nails. When I finally sat down for my manicure the staff did not trim my cuticles or put heating pads on my hands. I will not be returning to this nail salon. read more
