Wish we had discovered this terrific gem of a breakfast, brunch, lunch spot years ago! As we were leaving a couple told us that they LOVE JGoody Cafe so much because it's consistently great food when compared to a nearby chain spot. I can tell you that the chef here cares. You can tell by the food he is putting out and how, during a short break in tickets, he came out of the kitchen and visited a couple of tables, ensuring guests were enjoying their food and service. I had the Mexican Skillet and it was out of this world GREAT! Chorizo and cheese mixed in with scrambled eggs and some of the best breakfast potatoes EVER and I was super excited to bring half of it home. They serve one slice of toast without butter slathered all over it which is so smart. Most people can't eat two slices of toast and many do not want butter soaked all over their bread. This should be a question every breakfast server asks their guests - one slice okay? no butter okay? My husband found his egg white omelet with spinach, feta, and tomato absolutely one of the best omelets he has ever enjoyed. He mentioned that the disbursement of ingredients within the omelet allowed every bite to have just the perfect amount of ingredients in it. Our server was super pleasant. Came here for lunch, this is basic diner or cafe food. Parking was easy and the ambiance is also basic. It's a large open space with limited decor in a strip mall. I ordered the club sandwich and it had a good amount of crispy bacon and was what you would expect from a turkey club. My friend ordered the tacos and it was not a lot of food, she left still hungry. The best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area have overalll ratings like 4.5 (Ponte's) or 4.6 (Massimo's), and JGoody has 4.7 (I gave it a 5). This is just a breakfast and lunch place, so it's in a different bag, but for what they do, it's a 5. I got the veggie omelot (you can see prices on their website) with homefries and rye toast. Portions were large and I took some of it home. I learned later from the waitress that you can order the homefries regular or crispy (would have been nice to know that in advance). They also make their own pastries (some of the items were pretty unique) and gourmet chocolates - you very rarely see that. Also, they give a discount for cash. One could quibble a bit over this and that (like the pastries and chocolates not having signs with prices), but overall, I consider this place a wonderful asset for the Oldsmar area. read more

A hidden gem in the area but not so much for me as it's walking distance. Owners are so nice, restaurant is always clean, and the breakfast food is amazing. Large breakfast portion at a reasonable price. This was my first visit, and I was pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean. I ordered the Veggie Lover Spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, onions, omelette with home fries, and rye toast. The omelette was so full of veggies that I could only eat half of it. The home fries are sliced, fresh, new potatoes, something you just don't see everywhere. I ended up taking home half of the omelette and all of the home fries. Another hidden gem. We come to this shopping center often but never knew JGoody was there. We stopped in for breakfast and we're surprised from moment we walked in. It was large with a sizable dessert case and was pristinely spotless. Before we even get to the food let's start with the amazing service and welcoming staff, they were awesome. Our waitress was Lynda and she perfect. I had the waffle with whipped cream, eggs and bacon. The waffle was so light and great flavor, the eggs fluffy and bacon crispy. My wife really enjoyed her southwest omelette with home fries. She was especially shocked at how good their coffee was. WOW. Hidden gem. Very modern, clean atmosphere. They have a great breakfast, lunch, café style menu. The ingredients and the food is fresh and created by someone who knows what they are doing. Pairing flavors with some surprises and the end result is wonderful filling and delicious food! My wife had the house burger with ham, pesto, poached egg, tomato, white onion. Sounds a little different -- and it was, in the best way! Messy but fantastic. I had the chicken crepes, stuffed with cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and topped with bechamel. We got 4 desserts on the way out (for later... there were so many that we had to try more than one!) and might have also tasted some of the chocolates, too. Wife says "real chocolates; fantastic! Flavors really pop.". To top it off -- the service here is A+. Young staff--which sometimes means "teenage attitude"--but not here! Staff was all super attentive and polite and knowledgeable. Second time dining at this new-ish place in Oldsmar. Both experiences were outstanding. Yesterday, we got a veggie omelette and the veggie Benedict. Potatoes & grits were delicious as were both egg dishes. I had the cafe mocha and I loved it. The first time we ate here, we looked at the desserts but didn't try one. We didn't make that mistake again! We took home a key lime pie, pineapple turnover cake, and a brownie. I'm so glad that we did as they were sublime. We have been twice for breakfast and ordered lunch the other day. Have not been particularly impressed with those items on offer for breakfast, but very much enjoyed my hamburger, and my husband, the chicken sandwich. The wait staff is always pleasant as is the ambience. You need to wait very long for your entrée and with coupons, the price is always right, compared to any place else in the neighborhood. The banners on Tampa Road were well placed and reminded me that we needed to check this place out. When you enter, there is a true "Oldsmar feel" similar to Eve's or Ellie's. The place is meticulously clean. The menu is comprehensive. Nice touches like fresh flowers on the table. If you don't like grits, this is the place to try them. They know what they're doing. It's obvious that the grits are prepared with milk or heavy cream versus water. They are so good. Bacon is good, thin and crispy. The veggie omelette was basic but obviously fresh. The exotic crêpe was out of this world. French toast was very good. Service was fine. My only issue was the owners need to invest in Wi-Fi. It's not expensive and the free trial that they use to advertise Wi-Fi only lasts 30 minutes. It's a café, they need Wi-Fi. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars.
