Love this place and always always come here when I'm in Chinatown. They have a huge selection of quality products for really affordable prices.

This is a hidden gem on a small alley type Street in Boston' Chinatown. I think only the locals that actually live in Chinatown the garbage man and myself use this little tiny alleyway but it is a legal street in Boston. Anyways Jia Ho is in the middle of the alley or the middle of the tiny side street between Beach and Kneeland. You walk downstairs it's basically a basement of a large building. And it's set up pretty much like all the Asian markets with fresh vegetables some fresh fish all imported goods teas etc. i've been frequenting here for the previous 10 years surprised I haven't made a review on this place yet. Today I only picked up a couple items I got some shrimp and pork dumplings they come frozen but you can swear they're the ones that they serve in the restaurants they made in Chinatown and they're fresh and then flash frozen easy to double boil and they come out fabulous just as if you were in a restaurant. I also picked up a little bit of noodle to make like a stirfry with some fried noodle looks like angel hair comes out delicious. Next time you go to Chinatown to indulge at your favorite restaurant take a quick walk around the corner and check this place out you'll probably go home with a bag of imported goodies. As far as cleanliness goes you know it's pretty clean for Chinatown if it was on the outskirts lets say Saugus or Newton it would be dirty but for Chinatown I'm impressed pretty clean. Prices are approximately the same as all the other Asian markets may be a couple dollars more by the time you're filling a bag or two but they are directly downtown and I'm sure the overhead is enormous. FYI don't try to drive here if you're parked and you're going to enjoy a nice dinner I would take a quick pop over to this place but stay in the same parking spot because as anywhere else in Chinatown you need to park in God's on your side. I'm so happy that they've loved me my entire life they take good care of me I always get a spot, unbelievable!! Thank you Chinatown parking God's

I bought authentic loose rose petals and jasmine petals to make tea!!! I couldn't find them anywhere but I finally found them at Jia Ho

This place is JAM PACKED! It was honestly overwhelming to walk in here but also to walk through the aisles. I visited on a Friday afternoon and couldn't leisurely look around as there were people constantly trying to pass my way. I took one look at the meat section and I have to say the selection looked.... questionable. But then again, I'm flexitarian so my opinion doesn't count. The floors near the fish area seemed wet-ish and possibly grimy (I didn't pay too much attention). There did seem to be a lot of fresh seafood sold. There was definitely a good selection of Asian snacks, frozen packaged foods, noodles, sauces, dried anything (jujubes, herbs, spices, seaweed, etc. although I didn't manage to find shiitake which I wanted to buy) and even kitchenware. That being said, there was just so much stuff cramped into this supermarket that it gives you a sense of claustrophobia and I feel like I probably wouldn't want to stay longer than 10 minutes or so. The checkout line went super quickly, but I felt rushed in having to stuff my products into my bag because the people behind me just started chatting with the cashier and then sliding their products right by mine while I was still trying to gather my things and leave. All in all, I managed to buy the things I needed (tofu, frozen fish cake, loose leaf tea) and the total came out to way cheaper than if I were to shop at H Mart, which I feel overprices their goods. I will stop by Jia Ho in the future to grab some snacks if I'm in the area.

They accept Apple Pay. Reusable bags are 10 cents. Good selection. Fresh and well stocked.

Overpriced grocery in Chinatown - prices markedly higher than H Mart/Cambridge. For those allergic to sticker shock, you've been warned.

I lucky spotted a door open at the bottom of a long set of stairs. To my surprise there were people hustling and bustling below. I also saw a bunch of boxes and decided to take a quick closer peek at what was going on below street level. I ventured down a few steps and to my surprise saw a full blown old fashion Asian Apothecary store complete with an older woman behind a counter mixing multiple herbs and dried roots and wrapping them in brown paper. The store was impressive with the high quality of the Apothecary here, from ginseng roots and extracts to 50 lb bags of miscellaneous dried mushrooms to lotus flowers etc. I purchased some Korean Ginseng Tea at a very reasonable price. This is a great find, next time I will inquire if they have any Goji Berry products or Lingzhi Mushrooms which are somewhat difficult finds. I give Kok Wa Co a Solid 4 Stars. I may have gone up to 5 if I could have communicated with them.
