I've been to Jibek Jolu in the city several times. Always good service and food was delicious. This place in Glenview did not meet my expectations at all. Food was bland, tasteless , very small portions. Service is terrible! Wait staff brought in the cake but forgot to bring us plates and forks to eat it with until we asked them to do so. I also wish that guests inside were more encouraged or asked to wear masks while not seated. Also there were definitely not 6 feet between tables which made me feel uncomfortable and made the whole experience unpleasant. read more

Never came by to check on our table once during our 1 hour stay except delivering food. Had to walk over and find our waitress to get our check. Really amazing place!!! Even during Covid they go OUT of their way! Wow! I'm not well-versed in Russian food, but the dinner plates seem to lack vegetables. Like, if there is a meat plate, it's just meat. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, it's SUPER AMAZING FOOD! And absolutely the most BEAUTIFUL ornate restaurant I've been to in Chicagoland!!!! We have dined at Jibek Jolu many times. The food is delicious. We have tasted almost every item on the menu and love them all. However the shish kabobs (beef and chicken) are my personal favorites. The presentation is very nice as well. The decor is quite inviting. The large windows give it a lot of natural light during the day. The patio is great as well. Even though situated on a busier street it doesn't bother me at all. Kuma who is in charge of large groups and catering recently catered our dinner at home for 8 guests. The food was delivered warm and tasty. It was such a fantastic experience that we hired Kuma / Jibek to cater a 50 guest party! They were timely, professional, the food was delicious and our event was perfect! The sever was Ali and I could not have been happier. A+ to Jibek and the team! read more

We have been to Jibek Jolu in the city and it was really good. We expected the same quality at the Glenview location. Service was poor, we were sat at the dirty table, waited for someone to bring water and get drink order for about 20 minutes, all our dishes came together (appetizers and main course). The staff was apologetic and offered coupon for 15% off bar service for next visit. Food was not terrible, meat was a little tough. Martini tasted watered down and my husband's vodka cranberry was not impressive. I don't think their bartender knows how to make drinks. We will not be back. read more

What an amazing find! One of the most unique cuisines of all time. To be honest, I guess I never really knew where Uzbekistan was located on the map. But after seeing the map, the menu finally made sense. The cuisine was a combination of Chinese, Russian, Persian, and Turkish food. Really amazing fusion of flavors and dishes. Borscht soup, both fried and steamed dumplings, and super tender kabobs that are served as hanging kabobs. Overall great experience. Highly recommend. This restaurant was beautiful. The interior was stunning & all the food we tried was amazing. Make sure you make reservations. My party & I ordered quite a few items off the menu. Every dish & drinks were all very delicious! The customer service & our waiter were very friendly & attentive. We stayed well past closing & were not pushed to leave. There were still many people enjoying themselves besides us. It was a great time! The ambience played a good part of it, as well. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant out. Now, I'm rarely ever on Yelp to do any kind of review. However, in this particular case, I just had to bust out my old login and write about this restaurant. Alright so lets get right into it. Ordered food for a family of four. Husband and I along with two other adults wanted to see what this place was all about. Ordered an entre called, "Plov". Rice was not seasoned particularly well. Of course that can just be a personal taste issue. However, the lamb meat was over cooked, extremely dry, and did not taste fresh. So, needless to say, the common consensus from all of us was an all around "thumbs down". Ordered the Shashlik Skewers. Even spoke with the woman taking the order to get an explicit description as to what exactly came with this particular dish. The woman said, there are FOUR SKEWERS in every order. So, I thought, well, that should be plenty for four adult, so I made one order of Shashlik Skewers thinking that from what the lady mentioned, there would be FOUR INDIVIDUAL SKEWERS of whatever meat we chose. Once I got home and unpacked our order, I found that there was ONLY ONE SKEWER in the container. Immediately I rang good ole Jibek up and spoke with the very same lady who took my order and explained that there must have been a mistake in packing our order because there's ONLY ONE skewer for the Shashlik dish. The lady on the other end explained, "OHHHHHHH....that order is correct because when you order the Shashlik Skewer in the restaurant, the chef actually cuts that one skewer up in to four separate pieces." IF you could just see the look at my face when I got that explanation, you'd have thought I was having an aneurysm while being subjected to smells from a pig farm! I responded with, "SOOOO, you're telling me that one order isn't FOUR SKEWERS like you explained to me over the phone earlier, but rather ONE skewer cut up into four individual pieces." The lady's response, "yes". Not wanting to curse her out or get more upset than I already was, I politely hung up and explained to everyone that what we have in our order is correct. Moving on. We also ordered, Lamb in a pot. This particular dish was edible because the soup actually hydrated the dry pieces of overcooked lamb that was in pot. When you receive your order, you'll have this red sauce, that's suppose to help season your food. The sauce is simply siracha cut with some other red sauce to cut out the tanginess and Scoville factor. If it weren't for the fact, that we had another couple over that we were entertaining, I'd have just brought the entire meal back to Jibek and demanded my back. read more

You have a very bad service, nothing is thought out, manti and 3 shashlik's were waiting for an hour! The shashlik was undercooked, tasteless borscht, samsa not fresh, warmed in the microwave. We tried this new restaurant in the Glen and really enjoyed our evening. The staff were so polite and welcoming. Both of dinners were super delicious. I tried the National dish Plov with beef, very yummy. My friend had a cutlet and enjoyed it very much. We split a deliciously fresh Greek salad as our appetizer. read more

Nice place. Great location. Beautiful decor. Food was delicious and service was very good. We were happy to see a crowd on a Saturday evening, which means that people are still getting out despite the Covid "rules" We started with garlic roasted shrimp. I had the cutlets and my dining partner had the North Atlantic Salmon with hand pulled noodles. For dessert we had the merengue. Everything was fresh and tasty. We'll definitely return. We went to this new Glenview location last night for the first time and the food was delicious. I had not been to the one in the city so the experience was brand new to me. We had the plov, fried manty, shorpo, beef samsy, kuurdak, layman, chicken shashlik, and filet mignon. All of the dishes were amazing with the exception of the filet mignon. The server did not ask how we wanted the filet cooked when my son ordered and he didn't think to specify. When it came out, it was beyond well done and quite leathery as a result. Other than that, we really enjoyed the dishes. Unfortunately, the service was subpar and when asked about the differences between certain menu items, we just got blank stares. Several mistakes were made that made the experience a little less enjoyable. Please also ensure that all your staff and musicians have a mask on at all times. The musician that was playing last night came right up to our table and did not have a mask on when singing. Decor was amazing but we most likely will do take out instead from now on instead because of the service. read more

So let's start here. I had high Hope's. Nice interior and a nice covered outdoor space. Appetizer, was one of the specials, and after hearing it was just made, expected it to be hot, not so at all. I had the Kurrdak. Not bad, can't complain. But my wife asked about the Plov, and our waiter said he got alot of good reviews about it. This was suppose to have lamb and ribeye. No lamb to be found. Also no ribeye. And talk about dry, OMG. So dry, you could look at it and see how dry it was. The service was also bad. Our waiter never cam to check on us or try to refill our drinks. The drinks were the only good thing. Our waiter even never came back to pick up our check. Needless to say, we won't be back, nor could I recommend this to anyone. read more

Ate in the tent tonight. First time dining there and it was a real treat to try a different cuisine, other than the Italian, Mexican, Greek and Asian you can get at so many places.
