1/21/11 I saw a Groupon yesterday for Jiffy Lube, and since there are other things that needed to get done on my car (tire rotation, routine checks, etc) I figured "What the hay. Great deal. Why not?" Wasn't thrilled about going after a few sub-par experiences in the past at other Jiffy Lubes but sucked it up and went anyway -- this time not even at 8 a.m.! (I'm such a rebel.) I was greeted by a nice young gentleman (not sure his name). I specified immediately that I had a Groupon, but was hesitant to b/c I know how some businesses feel about Groupons. He was VERY courteous. Wrote down my info. Opened the door for me to the lobby...things like that. I've mentioned this before in another review, but I believe businesses have a mere 3-5 seconds upon a customer's arrival to make an excellent impression. The longer you wait for the good impression, the harsher the business will be judged the rest of the time the customer is there. Well today, they exceeded my expectations on that basic and very important rule of thumb. Then I was called in by another nice gentleman (Brandon) to get some information from me and to square away everything I wanted to get to get done to my car. He was polite, efficient, answered questions kindly and properly, suggested some things but didn't try to push anything on my purchase, seemed genuine and just an all around cool guy. He quoted me a time for it to get done. Even though I wasn't in any hurry, the quoted time must have been coming up quickly because he came into the lobby to say it may be about 10 more minutes...and it *was* exactly 10 more minutes. :) Glad he told me anyway had I actually been in a hurry. When it came time to pay, Brandon made sure to re-specify everything they did and showed me on the computer, scanned my Groupon, gave me the store business card and sent me on my way. I was very pleased with this experience. Then I got into my car and saw that it was vacuumed, too! SO AWESOME cuz it was pretty gross. hahaha. So thank you, Jiffy Lube on Brodie. Solid service. Needed an oil change 2 days before Thanksgiving so I expected a long wait (Lamb's quoted me 2 hours), so I was surprised to be told I'd be in and out in 15 minutes at Jiffy Lube. As soon as I parked, one of the workers greeted me and asked what I needed. They did a full service oil change, vacuumed my floors (not very well), and showed me how filthy my cabin air filters were. They gave me $20 off the replacement so I went ahead with it. $70.73 for the oil change and new cabin filters. Cons: -They said they washed my windows, but it looks like they just swirled a greasy rag over them. Now my side mirrors are dirtier than before. -Oil change price was a little higher than I normally pay ($36) but they have an early bird special for $27 if you get there before 10:00. WHAT A RIP OFF!!! BUYER BEWARE!! They wanted to charge me $70.00, yes $70.00! for a simple oil change using Ford manufacturer recommended blend oil that they stated was priced mid-range. I normally go to my dealership as my car is less than 18 months old. I went to Jiffy Lube because I received a certificate in the mail as a result of some class action text settlement. Completely unaware of the settlement or the suit, I thought, "why not?" This entitled me to $17.29 of goods and services for free. In the past, the cost of my oil changes have ranged $19-$29 for my old Honda Accord. Shocked and appalled, I said I would never have agreed to the service if I had known it was going to cost that much. I told them that if I had known, I would have taken my car to the dealer and paid $30. They stated my engine was a larger engine and the blend oil cost more. I told them "it's still the same car I take to the dealer that charges me $30", my engine didn't change size since taking it to ford and I am sure when I take it back it will be the same. My car, while an SUV is still a 4 cyl. I continued to point out the discrepancy. They then told me that I was paying less at my dealer because dealers charge less for oil changes. Do I have stupid tattooed on my forehead? Since when do dealers chg less for oil changes. Finally, they restructured the charges so that it would total $31 assuming that would please me as it so closely approximates what the dealer charges. I paid it, but unhappily. Recall the certificate I mentioned in the beginning? My expectation with the certificate valued at $17.29 was an oil change that would cost me no more than $12.00 These people are thieves. read more

The franchise owners of this store on Brodie lane. You are a discrace to the community and customers you serve. Even your employees are held hostage by the ineptitude of your leadership and having your employees' back when it's the difference between making things right with the customer or leaving your staff to deal with the repercussions of dismissing a claim of faulty service. My brother ( special needs) brought in his car to get an oil change and tire rotation. Less than 3 weeks later his wheel comes off because the lugnuts broke off due to improperly fastened lugnuts. God forbid if he was driving down the highway and his wheel break off and become a different matter to which you'd have to answer to. You denied our claim to compensate my brother for the necessary work that has to be done as a result of your shop's negligence in tightening down the lugnuts properly. Didn't even have the decency to call me direct to tell me in person. I had to call and find out that you denied the claim over a week ago. What a chicken shit move. But hey, after talking to some of your employees there y'all are a bunch of chicken shit franchise owners that leave your employees to hang because you won't make things right for your customers. Listen I work in the automotive industry and if this happened to our customers we'd take care of them 100%. But not this Jiffy lube store and I imagine the other shops your group owns are part of the same abhorrent customer service responsible for similar negligent repairs. Your staff started naming all kinds of cars that they thought I was calling about. My goodness how many customers have y'all screwed over in the name of profit. Purely transactional with no regard to good service or keeping your customers happy. It goes without saying that you've lost our business for life over $700 to fix my brother's car that could've resulted in something more consequential. I'm pretty sure you tell your family not to use your own company because y'all know y'all are shit. If you're a customer reading this, I hope you reconsider using this company. All it takes is one bad lugnut not screwed in right to change your life or that of someone else's because of negligence. Not worth the risk or gamble. read more

Was leaving work today, called them and they said it would be a 30 minute wait. I drove up and was helped almost instantly, very knowledgable staff and walked me through the whole process. They also vacuumed my car & washed windows too which was a nice touch. Will return again. Process was a jiffy! read more

I was surprised when I read the some of the positive reviews. I thought for sure it would be a 1 star across the board. After all, others in my neighborhood have also talked of a nightmare experience or being swindled, but probably didn't publish it. So I will tell mine. I went about a year and a half ago... and the experience is still burned in my mind. I had resolved I'd never go to a Jiffy Lube again years prior, but figured, why not... maybe the bad experience was a one time thing, plus it was around the corner from a house I had just bought. I brought in a 8 month old car that just needed a quick oil change. I had a coupon that made it around $20-25. How could I resist; if they tried to upsell, I'd say no. Only I didn't prepare for just how aggressive and sneaky the Jiffy staff was trained to be. And so I waited in the small room with 20 other people, some soap opera loudly playing in the background, and a stack of 6 month old, soiled magazines to read. After an hour they called me up to the front and said I was ready to go... And for only $80+ dollars. I was appalled. I never asked for any upgrades... but they told me my car required a special synthetic oil, and so they went ahead and put it in. That took it up significantly... But it didn't stop there. They made an executive decision to help me out, and went ahead and put on a new oil filter. This shocked me since my car had just got a new filter a few thousands miles ago on my last oil change (at the dealership). They told me they could take off the oil filter and knock off some cost, but at this point I was pretty sure they'd discarded my filter, and they would end up putting on whichever discarded filter they grabbed from the bin first. Once taxes and likely some random fees were thrown on, it cost in the mid $80s... 3x higher than I had anticipated. I paid and vowed I wouldn't be back... when I told friends and neighbors, they all told me they made that decision years ago after having undergone similar situations. Look, its in their best interest to do the bait and switch and sell upgrades... a place like Jiffy Lube can't survive off doing cheap oil changes alone... they need upsells, even if a car doesn't need them the majority of the time. But just don't be sucked into being the person who funds their business model. read more

The guys/gals at this location are friendly and energetic. It seems to be a buzz of activity every time we swing by for an oil change. This Jiffy Lube is a neighborhood location, a serious convenience if you ask me. I would rather not make the trek into a major shopping district simply to get the oil changed. read more

I have used this location many times over recent years to service our 2 cars - always happy with service. Earlier this week I had a near-catastrophic power failure in my car. Car was towed to my old mechanic. Diagnosed issue as battery cable not attached (Jiffy Lube replaced battery recently). So I go back to Jiffy Lube to report this incident. "Corporate will call you". 2 days later - no call/contact. This is very unsatisfactory. Manager and corporate have let me down. Response time? Time for me to make more noise. We want our cars to be safe and for someone to acknowledge there was a mistake made. UPDATE - went back. Given phone number for corporate. Busy signal. Then Manager asked if I just wanted my mechanic fees covered. I said yes, and to check that the staff do the job right next time so that we are all safe on the road. I've got my refund, I think. Just a shame I have to get more agitated to get things sorted. She mentioned that corporate can take up to a month or more to get back to customers. I guess they just hope you are dead and gone by the time they get around to contacting you. read more

I came here for an oil change back in November 2013. I first went to Walmart b/c they were usually the cheapest but they charged over $30! I think it was between $35-40 for the cheapest one. So I looked online and found the $24.99 special at jiffy lube so I decided to take it there. The manager (I can't remember his name) greeted me and explained to me what was recommended after they checked my car. In every other car place I would get my oil changed I felt like pressured to pay for other services they recommended. However, with the manager I did not feel that way! Majority of communication is non-verbal and everything from his tone of voice, demeanor etc. showed that I can trust him, he was not being pushy, and that I'm a valued customer even if I decide not to do what he recommends. I made a mistake of going to the location 1111 william cannon today. The guy charged me $34.99 for the signature oil change instead of what I had last time $24.99. I posted a bad review for them if you want to read it on their page. Next time I'm coming back here! read more

They LOST OUR CAR KEYS!!!! I got there at 10:30am to drop our car off for a simple state inspection. When we came back 2 hours later to pick it up, our paperwork was in the car but they didn't seem to have any clue where they misplaced our keys. They thought they had accidentally put the keys in someone else's car, whom they did not have a phone number for.. So could not contact and NO resolution. They repeatedly told me they were looking for our keys, but I never witnessed anyone make any phone calls or trying to search AT ALL. I still do NOT have a solution, have not been contacted for a solution, no follow-ups, and do not have keys for my job, my home, or my car!!! read more

This JL does not value customer service - and they are more expensive!! I stopped by at 7:30a and was told they didn't do car inspections until 9a so I returned at 9a. I was told it would be an hour and the young lady who had arrived after I did was told her car inspection and oil change would take one hour & 20 minutes. After an hour I looked up and the young lady was checking out. I asked for the manager and asked him to explain to me why that customer was serviced before I was. He said his worker indicated she was in the queue next. Seriously? I went to Vavoline on Slaughter Ln and they were $7 less than this Jiffy Lube!! read more

Or help me find any information. He says "it'll cost somewhere between $49 and $200." 01-21-2020: Justin at this Jiffy Lube on Brodie Lane was very helpful today and as always the Customer Service is Fantastic

So normally I take my car into the dealership (Lexus), but I've been slacking and I needed to change my oil and get my state inspection, and this location is close to my house. First let me say the staff was very courteous and friendly. The place was sort of dead (@5pm), which I'll get back to my theory as to why. Everything proceeds normally until the guy comes back and says my car failed the inspection. Not because there was a tail light missing, not because the engine was making noises. The reason? Wiper blades. Yep, effin wiper blades. So my choice is to take it to another place and fork over another 28.75 for a reinspection, or...lo and behold, they sell the wiper blades I needed right there! Coincidence? Talk about a shakedown. I knew I was being had, but what could I do? The guy failed my car, and unless I was willing to take another 30 minutes to drive to an Autozone and come back with shiny wiper blades, I could buy it from them right then and there. I made the conscious decision to fork over the $30 for the wiper blades (another calamity) and crucify them over yelp and let their manager have it when I got home letting them (and you) know that it was the last $30 they'll ever get from me. BTW, my old wiper blades were fine. I inspected them before they replaced it. It had "tear" on the ends but hardly a safety hazard. Not even close. So by all means, go to this Jiffy Lube if you want to get shaken down for $30, because that's all it was. And to those Jiffy Lube employees reading this, maybe this is why you're standing on the side of the road holding signs begging for business. read more

I have been a customer of this location for 15 years, honestly, have always had good service, and good results. This one star rating is for my experience with Ramsey, the "manager" today, who came to my car without a mask when I drove up. I put mine on, and waited for him to put one on. He just motioned for me to roll the window down, so I cracked it and asked him, where is your mask? He said, I don't need one. I said you don't need my business, either. I came home and called up there to speak to the manager, and turns out, that was Ramsey. lol. I told him that I was really upset, and have a pre-existing health condition, and him not wearing a mask put me at risk. He basically chuckled about it, then was silent. I said, doesn't your corporate office require you to wear one? He said, nope. I said, well, the City of Austin DOES require you to wear one to wait on the public. Silence. Not, sorry, no I will do that in the future, nothing. So, I won't be back, not to this location. Lack of safety, lack of customer service, and lack of courtesy. Really makes me re-think Jiffy Lube as a company. Who doesn't require their employees to wear a mask to greet the public during COVID? read more

Ladies listen up. We've got a creep lurking at this location. I had my oil changed here last week and while the service was great, what happened after was kinda creepy. The guy who had been helping me during my time there thought it was okay to go ahead and use my information (that was given to the company for my oil change...not for his own personal knowledge) and find me on Facebook. I just want to say this was a very uncomfortable experience and I will never be returning to this location. And I encourage other women to stay away as well...get your staff together Jiffy Lube. read more

Everytime I go to get my oil changed, the crew at Jiffy Lube is always friendly, efficient, and timely in getting my car in and out. They are honest and not just trying to get you to buy something that's not needed. I HATE and I mean HATE having to deal with anything involving my car. I fill it up with gas and even then I hate doing that. Thats what my husband is for. My Jeep has been beeping at me for a month to get an oil change and it finally annoyed the crap out of me enough to finally do it myself. I went super early in the morning to get their early bird deals that they advertise on their marquis. As soon as I drove up the guy greeted me at my car window asking me what I needed done. He then walked me inside to the waiting room and told me it wouldn't take very long. As i was getting comfy with their free coffee (it's free so it didn't taste very good...i didn't expect it to be all that great anyways) he comes in with what my Jeep needed done based on my mileage. He then recommended why I needed it done in full detail without making me feel like an idiot. When I politely declined some of the maintenance work he didn't make me feel like my car would blow up if i didn't do it. I appreciated that. I hate pressure sales. I told him to do what needed to be done and within 20-30 minutes he had changed my oil, replaced a missing cap on my battery, vacummed my car, washed all of my windows and did some sort of flush for my car. It was great. All of the people there were really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for their service and speed. read more

Jiffy Lube: What is the point of opening at 7:00 am, paying two employees and neither one of those employees on the clock are trained to do a state inspection? I was the only customer there at 7:30am. This stop was a waste of my time and the staffing is a waste of your money. read more
