This is the BEST Jiffy Lube I have ever been to. The one I typically use had a super long line, so I randomly came over to this one and man, it is soooo much better than the other one. I will be having my entire household come here instead. The staff here is much more polite, the service is a lot faster and the part that I actually really appreciate the most is they don't try and up-sell you anything. The people were really nice but the cost for my 2012 Nissan Versa to have its battery replaced was $310 for a 3 year warranty battery!! Totally outrageous--I'm not sure if it's because it's in the city or what, but I've never heard of that before for a standard car! (My dad just spent $180 for a new battery WITH installation for a Subaru Forester!) I asked if there was a cheaper version...they said there wasn't. Last time I replaced my battery was a few years ago for a little over $100 at Walmart...I'll definitely do that next time. Again, the people were very nice though--which was helpful. read more

Waited over an hour for a battery replacement with no cars ahead of me in my lane. Technician told me after a while it would just be five more minutes after being presented with an estimate, when I'm fact I waited a good 20 minutes more in the lobby. Most of the employees I could see on the floor didn't have their noses covered with their masks; this leads me to believe they don't maintain strict COVID safety. No apologies for the extra wait time. Nobody seemed to care much when I expressed frustration with the wait time. And then the cost- $350 for a battery replacement? Well over estimates I was given from people I know and trust with similar vehicles. I should have just used AAA or gone to a different auto shop. Basically got the sense I was being ripped off for not doing my homework and shopping around. Worst experience I've had at this location (pre-COVID experiences here were better). Very disappointed in the Jiffy Lube located at 1049 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60642. I bought a battery in August of 2022 and it died while I was on the road just 10 months after purchasing it. I was far away so had to change the battery when my AAA driver arrived. When I brought the bad battery into the Jiffy Lube shop and asked for a refund or a credit I was denied. The local manager named Israel said it was out of his hands and called his District Manager. Israel called me back and said the District manager would respond with a decision but he/she never did. Its been over 3 weeks since my request so I have my answer. That decision by your district manager to not work with me has cost your company my business. And I was a regular at Jiffy Lube for a very long time. But no longer. read more

I mean where else can you get a beautiful view of the city skyline and your oil changed at the same time? As a woman it is hard not to feel like you are getting the wool pulled over your eyes when you get your car serviced, no matter how big or small. I have been coming to this particular Jiffy Lube for years and these guys have always treated me with respect and courtesy. I just recently went to have my oil changed. They explained a few things to me about the service and got me in and out quickly. What I found so nice (and the reason why I would give more stars if I could) was that the staff opened the door to my car when I arrived, held it upon (chivalry isn't dead!) and led me to the waiting room. Each of the staff introduced themselves to me by name which was sweet. Another staffer came over to personally offer me coffee. The waiting area was super clean (have you ever been in some of these places where the waiting rooms are greasy and gross?). Not the case here. I was expecting to wait 30 minutes but it was lickety split . I definitely felt like I got what I paid for. This is the only place I will give my business to for this type of service -- I just got a new luxury SUV and trust these guys with my ongoing car care. On another note, before I bought this new car I called them to ask for a referral for other specialized care on my last car which had some issues -- they totally steered me in the right direction and even helped me network to get the service I needed. One of my tires was flat. I needed my car to get to work early morning- called this Jiffy Lube and a guy named Mitchell answered. He told me he will take a look at it and see if he can patch it up - shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Mitchell quickly found the damage and the piece of glass that caused the hole, patched it up, and didn't charge me. On top of that, I made it to work right on time. I'm very thankful for this service and would recommend this Jiffy Lube to everyone. They're honest people who really care about their customers. I would like to state that this was one of the easiest oil changes I have gotten in a while. They have a drive in method that makes everything go by smoothly. Called to get my oil changed and asked for prices. They told me for my make and model of my car it would be $75.99. I show up and they tell me it is going to be over $100 for my oil to get changed. I told them when I spoke to them 20 minutes ago they told me it was $75. They asked if I still wanted to get my oil changed if and I asked if they could lower the price because of what they said on the phone. They said they would lower it to $89. Stated on the website included in the oil change is vacuuming of the inside of the car and cleaning the exterior windows. I got my car back and neither was done. I asked them about it and they said their vacuum has been broken since COVID. I asked if they could lower the price of oil change since I am not getting the full service. They said no. I attempted to use a coupon and they said that it could not be used since they already discounted my oil change. Honestly terrible service. Terribly over priced for the half service that I received. Signature oil change. Windows not washed, Tire pressure not checked. I'm assuming by not taking care of these minor details that they probably didn't check my fluids either. I even ask about the tire pressure because my TPMS warning light was on. They said they filled it and it would go off soon. Nope didnt turn off and the pressure was low. Seems like they just said that to get me to ignore the obvious issue. For $50 its not worth it. I wont be back. read more

Really knowledgeable professional staff. Everyone wore masks and gloves, with only a few chairs set up in the waiting area for socially distant, safe waiting. I did have to wait for other cars but once my car was in the bay it was only about 15 minutes. Reasonable prices, thorough explanation. I was at this location 6/6/18 and will never be returning. They changed my oil, rotated my tires and then informed me that my front brakes were at 15% and provided me with an estimate. They pushed me to get them done while I was there and then told me to ask for Robert when I come back. They made a point to keep telling me how urgent it was to get them done and recommended I do it as soon as possible. I assume they told me to ask for someone specific as they were trying to scam me into paying $400 for new brakes when they did not need to be replaced. I took my car to my trusted mechanic and they were shocked when I asked for them to replace my brakes as they still had 75% left on them. This is a completely unethical business and I will never be returning. read more

Used to be my go-to for oil changes, but not any more. Local shop is great, but Corporate is useless. They deleted all vehicle records not service in the last 400 days (with a pandemic in that history period). I need copies of oil change receipts for an extended warranty claim and they have NOTHING. I called the 800# and got a scripted telemarketer who told me there is no way to access. They are completely deleted. (which doesn't see possible as tax records (revenue) requires the data to be kept longer than 1-2 years. I will never take my vehicles there again. Everywhere else I contacted was great. Some had to go to back files (I've had the vehicle a long time), but were more than willing to help. We have 5 vehicles and will never use Jiffy Lube again. read more

Came in here on a Friday afternoon and between giving my keys and driving out the process was less than 10-15 min! Super fast! Probably the fastest jiffy lube I have ever gone to and they did not try to upsell me on stuff I didn't need and were super honest with what I needed. Sure it's just an oil change and it is a little more than other places but least they don't sell you on hundreds of dollars of things you do not need! I used to go to general mechanic shops and every time they would conveniently find $500 worth of service no matter what! Now I only go to jiffy lube and once every couple years to a mechanic I trust. Went down to this establishment and they took me in right away for less then half the price! I was out in 20 min. Took my Rave 4 for oil change. They were amazing the mechanic was polite and friendly.LJ is great he was so helpful and wanted to make sure that I was aware regular oil had been used at previous Jiffy lube instead of synthetic. I assured him it was the Toyota Dealer service that told me my 2011 Rav does take regular and it is how it came from factory. I will be back to have my brakes done. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the job appears to be well-done, which is what I expect from any kind of rapid oil change center. Those positive aspects are the only reason this review isn't one star. The reason I'm leaving two stars is because the of the tactics used to try to upsell me to higher grade oil. The last time I went to a Jiffy Lube, I purchased a synthetic blend because I had a coupon that made it the price of conventional oil, which is frankly the only time I would purchase synthetic oil. When I went to this location, I told the service rep that I wanted conventional oil. His response was that going to a "lower grade" of oil can "damage my engine," which is completely untrue. I understand these employees are under a lot of pressure to sell additional services, so that doesn't bother me so much. What bothers me is that instead of trying to sell me on the benefits of synthetic oil, he used (or was told to use) lies and fear tactics. Unethical sales techniques are the hallmark of bad automotive repair shops, and I will definitely not be returning to this Jiffy Lube. read more

I'm an efficiency fiend. I called to ask if I could get an oil change as a walk in at 6:15 knowing they closed at 7pm. I was told "no problem." I arrived and was literally in and out the door in ten minutes. I called Firestone and was told they weren't taking appointments until Friday....today is Monday. I start a new job on Monday, after being unemployed for six months. Obviously, I'm thrilled especially since I've found my calling (at least for the third decade of my life) and will be doing something I love, love, love. But the time off (and hard-earned savings) have afforded me some perks. Obviously not every day was sunshine and roses (plenty of sad ones, rest assured), but I got a lot done. For myself, for others, for the planet. . . I don't wear a cape, but many days I enjoyed relishing in "getting it all done." Woot. With the days of self-made scheduling soon over once again, I went to get an oil change today. I have a hot Ford Focus. She's a real beaut. Got her in 2001 when I finished undergrad and have had zero major problems. I owe this to two things 1) a father who taught auto mechanics at Farragut High School and 2) knowing the immeasurable importance of regular oil changes. My dad passed away five years ago, so gone are the days of having him wave me into his garage for maintenance. Like many women, I tend to loathe these experiences. The leering, overcharging etc. It's bollocks. But this Jiffy Lube was a rare find. I was escorted from my car to a lovely waiting room, quiet and well-stocked with water and coffee and my favorite part: a clean bathroom! I am a professional hydrater, so I have to pee, like, all the time. It's a risk I'm willing to take, and I've squatted over open holes in the Andes mountains, road side stands in Belem, Brazil and trees in the Amazon. You gotta go, you gotta go. And you figure in a lube joint it gets skanky. Not true! Pop a squat. The service was reasonably quick, not cheap but car maintenance NEVER is. . . and I walked out feeling very well taken care of, with out being skeezed out. They're super quick, but don't really need to be. There's a bunch of stores within a few blocks so it's a great place to drop off, do some shopping, and come back to a tuned up vehicle. Staff was really nice and did an analysis with me of everything they were about to do to my baby. Only gripe is that I felt up sold on a bunch of stuff that I didn't necessarily need. This place was great! From the second I arrived, doors were opened for me and everyone was as polite as can be. They quickly went through the choices of oil as well as the condition of other parts of my car. Prior to my cross-country drive 6 months ago, I had most of these items replaced and knew for a fact they were in good condition. As a female going into a car place, you never know when they might take advantage and try to get you to purchase things you don't need. Luckily they passed the test and told me that everything was already in great shape and I would be fine with just an oil change! After fifteen minutes (and a quick trip to Whole Foods) the car was ready to go, full of fluids, clean windows and inside mats. My total was $34. It was $7 off for whatever reason (I think because they were slow in the middle of the day) and I received $10 off another car or to use for mine next time. Everyone who worked there made me smile and feel comfortable. I am so thrilled to have a place I can trust! read more

After getting rid of my poor excuse of a ride, I found myself the lucky, albeit completely temporary recipient of my father's car- a nice one by my standards. While it was not planned to keep very long- I made the most of it with a long trip up to Wisconsin and many trips to the grocery store (not to mention a few restaurants and around town). So with news that I would be returning his car to him with very little notice, I figured I ought to at least practice some courtesy and return it with an oil change and cleaned at least a bit. With it being Sunday however, my options were limited. Good thing for Jiffy Lube, which I have used in the past in other locations. Here is what I noticed that puts this particular location ahead of the rest: - Very friendly staff here. Polite and talkative without being pushy or awkward. - Quick service, and a non-pushy up-selling methods which was honest and based on the car's manufacturer recommendations for normal servicing. - Convenient location to go and grab a quick cup of coffee (I went to Starbucks- though complimentary coffee is on offer here). - I honestly think that this small piece of real estate that this Jiffy Lube sits on has one of the best unobstructed views of the skyline from the north side. My only complaint is that there are many other places that charge much less for oil changes than Jiffy Lube- but you are getting friendly, professional and quick service any day of the week. Oh yeah- bring your camera next time you go- the view is pretty impressive. read more

This was my 1st time at this location and I was extremely impressed. First of all, the bathrooms were very clean and manager Natalie was the keeping of nice tight shift of a employees. I was impressed how fast I was in-and-out. I watched them check everything they worked as a team. I was informed that the sticker in the window, regarding the mileage, anything before that if I come in I can have my fluids topped off and air put in my tires if necessary. That is excellent!
