I've been here for oil changes several times, and while they put you through the typical song and dance by bringing out some dirty filter and trying to upsell you on "manufacturer-recommended" improvements, they move quickly and get the job done. BUT, unfortunately I took my car for an oil change this fall, and asked them to refill my windshield wiper fluid. The stuff that they put in my fluid tank must not have been certified for cold temperatures, because it freezes and will not come out at all if the temperature is below 30. This week, there was a heavy snowfall and the roads were covered with slushy muck and salt, so of course that leads to a very dangerous driving situation if you can't clean off your windshield. Even though I was still 1,000 miles away from needing another oil change, I figured I'd bring my car into Jiffy Lube again to get the oil changed early and get them to fix their mistake. I firmly requested that they fix the windshield wiper fluid situation when I first arrived, again when they put me through the "look at your dirty filter" thing, and again at the end when I paid $40. And then I got in my car to drive home and the windshield wiper fluid is still totally frozen and is not working. I asked the man who escorted me to the car about it, and he said, "Well, you'll just have to let it thaw, there's nothing we can do." So that means...wait until spring? I need to drive for my work and have no idea how to fix this problem, which I wouldn't be having if Jiffy Lube hadn't made the asinine decision to put freeze-able windshield wiper fluid into a Chicago car. read more

Not that anyone loves going to car shops for any reason, but this place is the pits. I've been twice. In all fairness, the first time was only pretty bad. First, the employee helping me told me that the only synthetic oil option that they had was a $90 one. I told him I wasn't prepared to pay $100 for an oil change on a non-performance vehicle and if that was all they had, I was ok with heading out without an oil change. Magically, a more appropriately priced oil made its way in. Then, he told me I needed a new license light and asked if I wanted to have them replace it. I, more thinking out loud than asking if it were a possibility, said "I think I can replace that myself" to which he replied by looking me up and down and snorting "You? I dunno." Probably intended to be funny. Totally didn't land at 9am that day. I managed to leave that time without karate chopping him in the throat. The second and last time I went, there was another little guy with a Napoleon complex. Basically the same situation. "Oh, we only have this absurd oil made for Ferraris. Do you want that?" to which I of course referenced the last time I'd been there for my previous oil change and asked to have that kind of oil. He told me that the absurdly priced oil he had just offered me was the same stuff I'd had the last time. I didn't believe him, but I wasn't about to run home and find the receipt from the last time, so I just agreed to it and set about finding a coupon for that day. When I found one I asked him if it could be honored at that location. In front of a waiting room of multiple customers, this lovely human being snickered. Laughed. In. My. Face. For asking to use a coupon. I don't know if my head cocked to the side and furrowed brow made much of a difference in his choice to honor the coupon (I'm sure it didn't) or if it didn't even register to him that his behavior was vile, but he took the coupon, I paid, and I went out to get into my car. Then, this other really classy fellow opened my door for me, allowing him to check out my hindside, and made a show of hitting on me while the rest of the guys in the shop looked on and laughed. Unprepared at best. Dishonest at worst. Reprehensible either way. If I were the owner of this franchise I'd fire everyone and start all over with decent human beings. The service started off great - however, did not end well. The total time I was there was so short, that I am not even sure they even drained out the oil completely. I had a low tire pressure light on, and asked that they check it - they said not to worry, its included. As they walked me outside, I told them that the light was still on - they said that I had a bad tire pressure sensor and they had filled up the air to manufacturer standards. I drove down 2 blocks to a gas station, paid $1 on the air station and checked the psi and filled it up to the standards listed on my car, and boom - no more low pressure light. These guys are more concerned with getting you in, out and taking your money rather than providing the service you're paying for. I will not be returning to this Jiffy Lube again and I advise you not to go here either. read more

I usually hate Jiffy Lube. I've seen one too many Nightline episodes where they bait-and-switch you on stupid stuff and try to upsell you on stuff you don't need. But I don't feel like that's happening at this location. They showed me my air filter and said it didn't need to be changed! That's never happened before. Everyone was friendly, the wait was short (though I admittedly went on a weekday, I bet this place is a madhouse on weekends), and I didn't feel swindled. Usually I like this place because I drive uber and always need my fluids replaced and filled. But honestly the last time I was here it made me very disappointed in the bs. I came to get an oil change. That's it. Simple right? Well the clerk came to me and said your brake lights are out, will you like to get them replaced? I said that's impossible, I left my car dealership two days ago and had all my lights replaced along with other services. He said we'll wait let me double check to make sure....10 minutes later he said oh they working again it may have just been a malfunction...my car is new by the way....they purposely mess with your car to MILK YOUR POCKETS. I came to Jiffy Lube to replace my broken headlight. When I started my car I noticed that my headlight was out. I called Jiffy Lube on North Avenue (1049 W North Ave) and Jose said to bring the car in and that there was no wait. Indeed, I drove up the the garage, and I didn't have a wait. Herbie, the service agent, drove the car into the garage and immediately worked to change the lightbulb. He completed the job in under five minutes. In a blink of an eye, the car was ready and waiting with a new headlight installed for me. What amazing service! The price was completely reasonable for a replacement headlight and the installation. It would have taken me over an hour to buy the bulb and replace it myself. This place is great! Thank you guys for wonderful service today! read more

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon for an oil and filter change. It was a bit pricier than some other specials I have seen around town (I didn't have any coupons for JL but came here based on reviews), but I feel okay with it because they seemed to have done a thorough check. They made suggestions for other work but when I declined due to present lack of fundage they did not press, and in fact printed out the list for me to have as a reference. Service could not have been friendlier or more polite. I would definitely recommend this place and I will return. read more

I know zip about cars, so I usually make my husband go with me when getting my oil changed, or a bulb replaced so no one tries to make me spend more than I should. But I never have that problem going here. They will of course make their "recommendations" but they NEVER pressure you into an upgrade that you don't need. If you say no, that is okay! Wow--what a concept. In and out in 20 minutes or less, and they open my car door for me when I pull up, and when I leave (chivalry is not dead here my friends). It's nice that they have a waiting room with a TV JUST in case it happens to be busy and the Bears are playing. read more

We brought our 2002 Camry in for an oil change, and of course were told many other things had to be done. Walked out with a bill for $111. OK, maybe that was all legit. About two weeks later the oil light went on and the heat went out. We brought it to a mechanic, explaining that if major repairs were necessary then we were going to buy a new car. He called, said go buy the new car because the head gasket was blown and repairs would cost $2600. On asking around to what could be the cause for a head gasket to go on a car with only 66,000 miles, several people immediately said, "did you go to a cheapy oil change place like Jiffy Lube?" I guess they work so fast that they sometimes don't replace things correctly, causing leaks which screw up everything. So I will never, ever go to a Jiffy Lube again. I can't prove they did it, but as Grissom would say, the Evidence is there. read more

Ok, I didn't expect much when I pulled into Jiffy Lube for an oil change. Wow, was I mistaken! Right as I pulled in someone greeted me at my car, "Welcome to Jiffy Lube.." He helped me pop my hood (I had no idea where the latch was on my Beetle!) and let me know I could go inside where there was free coffee waiting for me. :) The staff was super friendly, and like someone else mentioned, sweet friendly, not creepy "hit on you" friendly.. Each one of them smiled at me, greeted me and I even got complimented on my sweater. I drank my free coffee while they quickly serviced my car. They let me choose which oil to put in, and when I asked which was best they honestly answered me. The service here is top notch, I highly recommend this location. They even walked me to my car, opened my door for me, and wished me well as I went on my way. Very sweet. Thank you for providing such wonderful, and friendly service. Hi- I have been to your Chicago North Avenue Jiffy lube in Lincoln Park Chicago a few times. Each time I have been there including my fiance, we have left with smoke exiting our front hood from spilt oil burning on the engine from the oil change. I have NEVER had that happen to me any where else. I had left the Northern suburbs today where I would have gone to Midas or another place in Lake Zurich for my oil change in which they had never spilt oil on my engine. But after getting the offer on TV to get my oil changed for $8 off, and a free pizza from Dominoes....we decided to bring both of our vehicles to this location. My car has a problem currently with the fuel filter. I pulled up and asked one of the guys to check it and replace it if necessary. He said no problem and parked my car in line with the others turning the car off....leaving the lights on......wait he left my lights on draining my battery for over 30 min?? I also noticed a sign in the waiting area of 20 people....that your store had offered to repair for fuel filters.... I waited 48 minutes until they had brought my car into the garage..... unacceptable one notification on time or reservations. Once my car had been worked on, the manager had taken me aside to go over basic maintenance if I needed it. I had also told him I had notified that I wanted my fuel filter checked and I had already asked one of the workers and the manager said it would be his first thing he would do. 20 min later I was called to the front desk and asked how my fuel filter was. The MANAGER of the building told me that the store was TOO busy to do things like that and I should go out of my way to come back first thing early in the morning to get it taken care of any other day. My manager at my work would not allow that....so why would this manager at this place allow to turn down business/service?? I reminded him that I had already asked about it twice and they said they could take care of it......but not touch it.....AFTER 2 REQUESTS! My fiance and I also asked about out Dominoes pizza coupon for taking BOTH our cars there.... They told both of us that the coupons were locked in a safe and they couldn't not get to them..........come on.....really?? So in all, my Sunday at the North Ave Jiffy Lube consisted of NOT getting what I asked for fixed even though I asked twice and was told it was something they could do.....waiting over an hour for and oil change.......and the promotion for Dominoes pizza be held from us. I am 100% sure the corporate manager of Dominoes would not be happy to know people will not order pizza from there because the business partner of Jiffy Lube was not cooperating. AND BOTH OF OUR CARS WERE SPEWING SMOKE FROM THE FRONT HOOD DUE TO OIL SPILLED ON THE ENGINE DURING THE CHANGE.......THE 3RD TIME THAT HAD HAPPENED TO ME FROM THIS LOCATION. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME ANYWHERE ELSE I HAVE HAD MY OIL CHANGED!!!!! I am 100% unsatisfied and feel ripped off and that these guys rushed through not paying attention to details of the cars because they were too determined to get cars in and out during a tough hour. I actually wonder if they completed the job with me and anyone else that walked in there today. Been coming here for four years for both of my cars, service is cold unfortunately today, for the first time I was turned away because i arrived 10 minutes before their closing time. Went to Jiffy Lube for a regular oil change (I have a small Suzuky Grand Vitara V6) and they wanted to charge me $70.00 just for regular oil, then the guy at the front desk tries to upsell me by telling me it was better to go with the full synthetic and it was just going to be around $95.00...told him my suv is a 2001 model therefore the engine was old so putting full synthetic or even a synthetic blend was not going to do anything to it. I ended up taking my car to Fuller's which only charged me $60 for a high mileage oil change. What a bunch of thieves these ppl at Jiffy Lube have become. read more

Before you even think of taking your vehicle here - please think twice. I needed an oil change before a road trip and the convenience factor playing a huge part - special and open after 6:30 - cool. Not cool - the very next day I realized that they did not close the oil cap so had a problem and also didn't fill the oil up. Ummm, why did I pay $42.00 for an oil change and have to go to two different mechanics afterwards??? This place does a crap job and pays little to no attention to detail. Feeling like a princess at an oil change? That is how I feel consistently at this Jiffy Lube. I am accustomed to great service at several Jiffy Lube locations in the burbs, but this one is my favorite. I've never been loyal to a big chain oil service company until I found this one. I'm not sure if it was their mommas or Jiffy Lube that taught them their manners, but I haven't even been treated this well on dates where there was more motivation than return business for a $35 dollar oil change. I don't normally leave reviews for a positive customer service experience, but I think this place totally deserves it. Like most people, I dread having to get my oil changed. At my dealership, it takes an hour plus and they are always trying to up-sell me, making the experience a real drag. This Jiffy Lube is not in my neighborhood but I happened to be shopping nearby so I figured I'd give it a shot since they were running a $10 off promo. I was shocked that I was able to get in right away and before I even finished my free coffee, they were done. They let me select which oil I wanted and gave me manufacturer recommendations. They didn't try to sell me anything and not only did they take my coupon but they offered me another one for my husband. Super friendly and fast staff. Highly recommend! read more

They were quick and reasonably priced. I took my Audi Q3 in for a routine oil change and was happy with the entire service.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!! Three weeks after having my oil changed here at this location my check engine light turned on and my oil pressure gauge showed low pressure. After checking under the hood and seeing that oil had sprayed over the engine bay I checked the dip stick to find that it was dry. I took my car into a reputable auto service center where they told me that when the oil filter was installed on my vehicle it was screwed on too tightly causing a puncture which in turn emptied the oil out of my car. When i went in with the punctured oil filter and an invoice from the service center to receive a refund I was turned away and told to come back tomorrow when the general manager is in. I will update this post tomorrow with how the general manager handles my request. *Update* I just tried to submit a complaint on the Jiffy Lube website, after filling out the form in it's entirety and clicking the submit button I was returned an error screen twice. Apparently they don't want to accept customer complaints. *Update* I went to the Jiffy Lube location today and met Miguel the store manager, he was very nice and courteous and immediately provided me with a refund. read more

Visited this Jiffy Lube location for the first time. This was fast, efficient, and thorough. I can't speak for others' experiences- but mine was fantastic. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I drive a fleet car for work, and still they gave it the best quality oil change I have had in my 20+ years of driving. They treated me nicer here than some spa treatments I've received before! I've been to plenty of Jiffy Lubes, but this is definitely the best one. Everyone was so nice and friendly, held the doors open for me, and definitely made me feel taken care of. I went at 2pm on a Tuesday (6/17/08), they were busy but not packed. I was out of there in ~20 minutes. I watched what they were doing to my car the whole time and they seemed pretty thorough with the vacuuming and window washing, no cutting corners. I just got back from my first Jiffy Lube (North Ave.) experience, and I've got to say the staff there truly know what Customer Service is. IMHO, an oil change is an oil change is an oil change. It's the extra little things that make loyal customers... and from now one, I'm definitely going to be one! Upon driving into the driveway, I was greeted by a staff member (even before I got out of the car!) who directed me to which bay I should drive into. He opened my car door, said hello, walked me to the office door, and opened THAT door too! As soon as I got inside, I was welcomed by all the staff inside and invited to have some coffee from the hot dispensers on the counter. "Why yes, thank you!" ... Caribou coffee, my favorite! When it was my turn to check-in, I was asked what I came in for. "Basic oil change, please"... little did I know they had already looked at my car for the basics... make, model, VIN, mileage, etc. Because my car has high miles on it, they recommended the "high mileage oil"... $10 more than the basic. I asked what the difference is, the benefits, etc and he explains it to me like a HS chemistry teacher. Ok, so whether or not there's a difference, it's $10 bucks, so I go for it. (All this happened within the first 5 minutes I entered) I sit back down then about 5 minutes later, the guy calls me up to the counter and outlines all the things I know my car needs (I'm due for a regular maintenance at the dealership, but just haven't had the time and won't be able to go for another 2 weeks). I ask him to prioritize it in order of "crucial to can-wait-a-bit". My engine filter is important as I'll be driving about 1000 miles in the 10 days. Done! Engine filter, upgraded oil, change, fluids topped off... all for $63 (including tax)! and (bonus!)... my car was washed! I was out of there within 30 minutes! And when I was ready to leave, someone opened the waiting room door, walked me to my car, opened my car door and wished me a good weekend. To add to it, they stapled a $10 coupon to be used by a 2nd car within 48 hours. Now, I don't have a 2nd car, but still... I can give it to a friend or something. read more

When I was in my second year of high school I was stupidly enrolled in the "Tech" program, and lucky me....I got auto shop!! I barely passed. When it comes to cars, I pretty much know nothing........except how to shop for them. Regardless, when I worked across the street, everyone recommended to go to Jiffy Lube after work. I've been there several times, mostly for my car, sometimes with my mom's car and I don't feel pressured to buy anything I don't need. Everyone's always really nice and I've seen a few instances where a customer needed something that they didn't have and they've told them to come back and they'd give them a discount for waiting. When they call you up to go over what's being done and what your fluid levels are at (etc etc) I've asked them what's necessary (as all of that gets costly and I'm usually broke) and what I can get away with for awhile longer and I've always gotten honest responses. How do I know they were honest? People who actually know about cars confirmed it for me later. The location does kind of suck (seeing as how it's on North Ave. right off the bridge and by an inconvenient light and it's not a huge spot) butttttt, I've never had a problem getting in or out. Then again, I always went early in the morning or in the early afternoon, but I've seen this place packed at random times, so, you kind of have to take your chance and hope you get lucky. I think the most I waited was about 30 minutes. read more

I have confidence in this operation (knock on wood). A hint - if you can, go mid-afternoon. Friendly service and helpful explanations of services. I called and asked a few questions and they were answered calmly and kindly. That surprised me figuring they were too busy for that. I went at a very busy time, so I can't say it was a quick as the other yelp reviews led me to believe. It wasn't them being slow, it was just a high volume of cars to service. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and sipped a cup of coffee while I relaxed until my car was filled with new oil and tuned up. I'd come back here for sure. read more

First time at a jiffy lube, and maybe this is just how they do it. Went on Saturday at 2pm stressing about making it to Sully's to watch the kickoff of the Gators vs Tenn, and there was no line - nice. They washed all the windows, vacuumed the inside, pumped up the tires, and changed the oil in about 10 minutes! There were 3-5 people working on the car at any time and they were working like a well oiled machine! It was interesting to watch. The service aside, they had nice hot Caribou coffee - just what I needed - They took a coupon I pulled up on my phone - apparently I was the only one who didn't know about the coupons - and everyone was really pleasant. Still amazed they got it done before I finished half my cup. And the Gators won! I think that's what earned them the 5th star! read more

Then he showed me where the office was that also had coffee and water to offer customers. Then the young man Inside gave me my oil change options and showed me the air filters! I showed up to this location at 4pm on Sunday, February 11th (I am actually still parked here, I just had to write this review) and they are closed. This Yelp page, their website, and the front door all clearly state that they close at 5pm on Sundays. So why the early closer? There are no signs posted on either door, front or back, that say that they were closing early either. Extremely inconvenient and unprofessional in my opinion, at least leave a note! read more

Went to this Jiffy Lube to have the battery in my Volvo s40 replaced. I told them to replace it with the exact same battery brand, size in my car. They put in a smaller, less powerful battery but still charged me the price of the battery I wanted put in. I had to take the car to the dealership because I was still having trouble with it starting, where they told me what jiffy Lube did and said I should get my money back. When I went back Jiffy Lube denied putting in a too small battery. Even though I had the battery and the receipt. Stay away. They're going to rip you off. read more

For what it is--an oil change place--this Jiffy Lube is great! Not all Jiffys are created equal, and this one was a pleasure. I drove up on a Thurs. evening about 5:15. An extremely pleasant & friendly employee asked if I was there for an oil change, directed me what to do & where to go, and opened doors for me. Inside, the guy taking care of check out/processing was quick, and not super pressure-y (although they do ask you about add-ons, it's a business, afterall). He was also very pleasant, told me they'd have me out of there 10 minutes later, and even gave me 7 bucks off! Everyone there was clean (pretty good for an oil change establishment), and seemed to genuinely *gasp* enjoy being there. My car was taken care of properly (oil, new wiper blades, and clean/seal of a battery terminal) in the time promised, and I was out of there. This is the best place I've ever been for an oil change since I started driving. They are super nice and so fast! I literally have never been to a jiffy lune location that took less than 20 minutes even with people waiting. They finished in about 10!! Staff is awesome.
