I had a very negative experience here having my oil changed. Below are the conversations I had with an employee and then the manager: I tell the employee what kind of car I have and then: Me: How much is it to have the oil changed in my car? Employee: $75. Me: OK. They change the oil and then charge me $104. Me: $104? You said it was $75. Employee: Well, your car requires 8.5 quarts. $75 is the price for 5 quarts which is the "base price". I later speak to the manager and explain that I was quoted $75, then charged $104. Manager: Well, $75 is the "base price" which gives you for 5 quarts, your car requires 8.5 quarts. Me: I now understand that, but he quoted me $75 knowing exactly the car I drive and how much oil it requires. Every car that is the same make and model as mine requires 8.5 quarts. You would never ever change the oil with only 5 quarts, so I don't understand why a "base price" exists given that you would never charge anyone the "base price", you would charge them more. Don't you think it's unethical to quote a customer a price, do the work and then, when your finished charge him much more? If it is more, shouldn't the employee have mentioned that and gotten the "OK" from me before they do the work? The manager was not apologetic and said there was nothing he could do. I went for a quick oil change, obviously. Since its Jiffy Lube. LOL, anyway, the guys there were really nice, didn't try to up-sell me too hard. Didn't push a filter I needed, or a more expensive type of oil. Though he recommended some things that I need to take care of. I'll go again to this location for sure. read more

I would never let an oil change place change my fluids or do anything serious with my car. But if you're looking for just an oil change or a free, in-between top-off, these guys are really great. They are fast, nice, and take coupons every time. I was on my way up to Wisconsin and ran through to get a top off. Leon and crew not only got me through in 5 minutes, but also fixed my hood pull, which had too much slack in it (I hadn't had a chance to get my pliers out to fix it -- they just did it for me). Will never ever go back to this location again ever in life! This is my closest jiffy Lube so obviously the place I would go to first period. I have gone to this location several times now. Almost each and every time has blown me away with disappointment. But the final straw was yesterday. I went in for an oil change to fill my fluids up and to up the pressure of my tires as the tire pressure light was on in my car. First of all this location has a lot of young men. There is nothing wrong with young men except for the fact of when you have lazy young man. This is what I found to be true at this location. I came in yesterday on a frigid evening to ask for those things that I have mentioned above. When I got my vehicle inspection report. I first noticed that everything seemed to look good except for the fact that I needed a hundred and something dollars service perhaps? But I also notice that my tire pressure was good. So after the service and me not accepting the extra hundred and something dollar service they were recommending for me I questioned the attendant who was actually taking my credit card and said you know I noticed that on my sheet it said that my tires were at 73 and we're in good condition. However I have the tire light on in my car. The attendance said oh yeah well they change that theyalways put air in the car. I didn't believe him as I didn't see anyone put air in my tires but on good faith I left, thinking that maybe I didn't see them do it. So I drove off in -17 degree temperature with my tire pressure light still on e t c. I know that sometimes those lights take a few hours to turn off so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I made several stops after my trip to Jiffy Lube with no light turning off for me. I parked my car and didn't go back outside until the next morning and which when I turned my car on the tire pressure light was on again or still. So tonight I took my car to a different Jiffy Lube which I will recommend and will only go to at this point. Although slightly out of the way. Seeing that for an oil change it is already a pricey place to go I expect what is promised every time I go. After dealing with this other Jiffy Lube tonight as soon as I pulled off the light went off guess they did what they said they were going to do and you didn't. Over it you need to get better workers or better management that will oversee that the workers do what they are supposed to do there is no way that I should have to take 2 days to do something that could have been done within an hour. Helpful, personable service agents who get the job done in a pinch! I'm really surprised the reviews on this place are not better. I frequently come for oil changes on my Honda Civic and the team is nothing but nice and helpful. This last time I went, I was concerned about a recent TERRIBLE service experience I had with Grossinger and asked them to keep an eye out for anything off. Great service from the guys at this location! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and very quick service. Only had an oil change but these guys had me in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. Justin the cashier was helpful and friendly, and never tried to upsell or get me to purchase any additional services or products, and made sure I knew that all the vehicle systems were working correctly and in good shape. I went there with a $15 coupon from their website. I mentioned it when I dropped off the car and heard just to show at the registration. At the registration I was told that the coupon doesn't work with their system. I requested him to try out but he didn't even try and just said he knows it doesn't work. I complained that the person who recieved the car should have inform me. He said all the employees know it. Only then, he offered $8 discount. After that, I went in to the waiting room and he was rudely talking about that. I would not recommend this location. read more

Got my oil changed here and after a couple weeks my check engine light went on. When I went to get the code read they tell me it could be the spark plugs. I go to replace the spark plugs and 2 are coated in oil! There was so much oil on my spark plugs that they were no longer effective. I will never go to jiffy lube again. read more

This place is horrid! Justin and Robert, two of the managers, are great. However, none of the other mechanics could give a hoot about you, your time, or your vehicle. I came in the Monday BEFORE Thanksgiving to get a replacement battery - they don't have it in stock and tell me to come back on Tuesday, they will surely have it then. I come back on Tuesday, they finally bother to check my batter, and find out they still don't have the correct battery - meanwhile my car is parked on the street and it starts to snow several days later. I go back in a week later... and the piece of paper that they wrote "my order" on was shoved behind an award plaque that this location somehow won in the past. Unfortunately, Robert and Justin were not in - just some terribly unfriendly woman behind the counter who calls herself "management" but had no interest in actually managing the situation. It is supposed to snow again, several inches, in two days. I called AutoZone at Clark and Granville and Luis is going out of his way to make sure I not only have my battery, but it is installed in my car - and today. My advice to you - do NOT go to this location of Jiffy Lube. It is a waste of time. And if you do have to use this location, do not come in the morning when the "manager woman" is in... it will not be a pleasant experience. read more

Oil changes should be simple. On my first trip to this location, I ended up leaving without an oil change. I drove my Volkswagen Jetta into the bay and was escorted into he waiting room. I was told the oil change would cost about $90 plus tax and fee. They didn't give an explanation for the high cost. I decided tot make my car elsewhere. They tried to tell me they already started to empty the oil and I would be able to leave. I demanded they replace the oil and allow to me leave as I did not consent to the service quote. I drove to the Jiffy Lune Location on Wester it was $69. Today, I drove up to the bay and they explained it would be an hour wait. I didn't mind as it is a nice day figured I would grab a coffee & enjoy the weather. One of the guys escorted to me to the waiting room. The waiting room is small and every seat was taken. I said I would go grab a coffee and be back in 30 minutes. I was told I was not allowed to leave and would have to wait with my car. This doesn't make sense, I was told to leave the keys in the car so they could drive it not the bay when it became available. These people are idiots and lack common sense. *The only reason why I visited this location a second time because its closer to my house. read more

I took my car to this location before driving to Minneapolis. While I was paying, I asked if they had checked all the fluids. He said yes. I said that I was worried since my friend said that my car was driving hot. He said that he didn't notice anything. So I started my drive. Once I was on the expressway, my car was indicating in the red zone hot. I started running the heat, and looking for a place to pull off. Seeing a truck stop, I pulled off the road. With the radiator cap off it sputtered hot. I waited till the car cooled down, and then looked at the coolant reservoir, it was empty. I added coolant/antifreeze to the coolant reservoir, and water and coolant/antifreeze to the radiator. But I was still worried that I had a leak since this had supposedly been checked. After turning the car on again the car was fine, ie in the middle of hot and cool. I ran it for a while, and then continued my trip. Having returned in the same car the car is still running fine. I am sure that if I had not added the fluids that I would have damaged the car. I lodged a complaint with corporate, and am still waiting for someone to contact me. read more

Before you take your car in for a simple oil change, be aware of the price and supposed "courtesies" that are said to be included in their "Signature Oil Change". $44.80 is supposed to get you an oil change, a filter change, air filter checked, wiper blades checked, floors vacuumed, exterior windows washed, lights checked, brake fluids checked, coolant levels checked, belts checked and a whole list of other car-jargon related "courtesies". The only "courtesies" that I could see with my eyes were not actually executed: vacuuming and windows washed. That only makes me wonder how many other "courtesies" were rushed through or not attempted at all... -- So here's what happen on my first and only time at the Jiffy Lube: I pulled up and approached an employee requesting an oil change. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem, only 15-20 minutes. I was pleasantly pleased with the speediness of the service. He asked if I'd like to wait in the service waiting room and I declined as I had the dog with me. I told him I'd just walk her around the block for a bit until it was done. Twenty minutes later I returned for my car and as he said, it was ready to go. The same gentleman rang me up for my service and I was taken aback when my total was shockingly $44.80. I politely asked if he could explain the additional services preformed that were reflected in the price. He kindly shared with me that the oil and filter was changed (exactly what I asked for), all of the fluids were filled (standard), the car was inspected in a number of different ways (again standard), the floors were vacuumed (generally included) and the exterior windows were wash (the last place I took it to literally washed it, so I wasn't all that impress). He obviously had perfected his spiel for customers because his description did make me feel (for a minute) that the price might have been worth it. When I got in my car, I noticed that the floors weren't actually vacuumed. There was clearly still loose tobacco, pulverized leaves and other debris moderately covering the floor just as I'd left them. There were still dead bugs and bird shit on the exterior windows. I drove home and thought more and more about what had just taken place. I don't understand why the car service industry has to be such a racket. I tried to write my experience off but I just couldn't, so I decided to call. I really did feel uncomfortable calling to complain but I just spent $44.80 on a service that should have been $25, max. I felt like I was completely taken for my money. I'm pretty sure the same gentleman who rung me up was the one who I spoke to on the telephone. Either that or all of the service employees speak as if they are narrating a Jiffy Lube commercial. His diction and verbiage were on point. I explained that I was pleased to hear of the additional services included in the "Signature Oil Change" but I was rather disappointed to find that they did not appear to be preformed. I brought up the vacuuming and the window washing. At first, he clarified that it was just the exterior of the windows that were washed. When I countered with the fact that there were still bugs and bird $hit clearly left on the windows, he responded by saying they do the best that they can as they are not a car wash. I totally get that; no, they are not a car wash. To the vacuuming, he responded by saying "sometimes things get clogged in the vacuum tubes". Really? Quite the generic response to that one. Loose tobacco particles, general dirt and debris CLOGS the vacuum tubes? He then when on to blame the entire situation on me for not staying (with dog in tow) to be "counseled" on the services offered and preformed. He said he was unable to "do his job" because I did not stay and sit in the waiting room while the service was preformed. Clearly, I had NO idea how complicated and seemingly deluxe an oil change has now gotten. I counter with the fact that he also made no attempted to communicate to me that "customer service counseling" was necessary. ANNND the blame went back on me, the customer. The way he spoke to me, it was clear that he'd had the EXACT conversation countless times before. Realizing that while talking to him only made me more frustrated. I'm not sure what I was looking for when I called, maybe being refunded the difference between the "Signature Oil Change" and a plain old oil and filter change...? (I learned they only offer $44.80 oil changes). Maybe to return my car to have the wrongs righted...? I didn't ask for anything and he made no attempt to remedy the situation. He just kept reinforcing the fact that these things were "courtesies" and I guess I should just be grateful that the employees even attempted them or that Jiffy Lube even offers them... BUT, when you justify an exorbitant price with "courtesies", the "courtesies" need to be actually executed. read more

I used this place for years but saw a recent experience posted by someone and then not being gay friendly. Well I went for my simple oil change and this young black girl with a bad wig came in and took her mask off in the tiny waiting area and then decided to talk on speaker. I ignored it but she confronted me as I said and did nothing and she yelled "what the fuck you looking at you fag" So the oil guys came out and asked her to move outside. As I was waiting she kept pointing her phone at me waiting in the lobby and she was laughing. I decided it was stupid and tried to just step outside to tell her this was stupid and a mistake and misunderstanding. She laughed at me and the oil changer came out and said leave her alone, which I did. Then I had 7 African American men pour oil into my car as they all laughed and pointed at me. I called the manager Juan when I got home and he said to contact corporate to file a complaint but they won't listen to a complaint from a fag. The techs here are friendly. It's a shame. It is really not their fault. It's their prices and the help inside that suuuuuuucccckkk. This place is outrageously priced. Lemme tell you something... You know you can get it cheaper somewhere else and it is worth the effort! I paid $32 bucks for an oil change ONLY and that was WITH the $10 off early bird special. The cashier inside gave me a ton of attitude when I asked her about my coupon because I interrupted her screwing around on her cell phone. She is lucky to have a job in these times, but she sure isn't trying to keep it. As I checked out she said to me, "You have two options. You can show me the coupon you have or take the early bird special." A nice game of roulette with my pocketbook! I was in one of your service centers for and oil change and tire rotation this morning. I also asked if they could check my right front tire, it had been leaking air. One to the tech, a Justin S. Told me that they couldn't fix my tire and there was no reason to try. He told me, "Both your front tires need to be replaced. There bald." He then proceeded to tell me that my brakes were metal on metal and they would be gone within the next week. All together it was going to cost $230 or the new tires and $325 for the brakes. Something didn't seem right so I took my car to a better service center and had them check my car out. They went over everything with me. My tires are fine, they have lots of tread and just had to fix a little hole. My brakes just need new pads in the next few mouths which would only cost around $50. You're people tried to completely rip me off. I want my money back for my oil chance cause now I'm not sure they ever did it. What your people did was absolutely wrong. read more

Been here 4 times, and 2 times, had problems. They are friendly, but they don't know what they are doing. They are a little too fast for quality service. One time they overfilled the oil substantially. While they fixed the problem quickly, I did not feel confident it wouldn't happen again. They always try to sell me on stuff I don't need - I've been to two other places and was told from both those places I don't actually need stuff Jiffy Lube said was essential. This is the worst Jiffy Lube I've ever been to. It was close and convenient so I thought I'd give them a chance. But alas they were absolutely the worst. They tried to ever-sell me stuff I didn't need, they did not perform the services they claim to have performed. Down to items as simple as checking the exterior lights. There was a dashboard light that stated a turn signal light was out. Not only did they not catch that, or offer to replace the bulb, but they didn't even notice the light on the dash. They claimed to fill the tires to "appropriate pressure", but didn't and there was a low tire pressure light on the dash as well. I still love Jiffy Lubes in general. They replaced the air filter without my consent. I refused to pay and asked to put my air filter back in. He said that I must have say yes because we don't just do thing without your permission. He said since it already installed so I have to pay. It all started because I refused to give the guy my personal information so he can enter into the system. I told him no need to since I always go to the auto shop by where I live. He said to me, dude we don't sell your information so don't worry. He was so rude. Stay away from this location. This Jiffy Lube has really gone downhill over the last few years. Yeah, they are fast, but they are also very sloppy. They don't really vacuum your car anymore, and they always try to get you to buy extra services that your car doesn't actually need. One time, they put new wiper blades on my car and they were not adjusted properly, so I had to go back to have them fixed. Last time I was there, I got in my car to drive home and one of the tires was flat. I don't know for certain that it was something they did, but I don't trust them. I won't be back. read more
