Went in to have an issue with my A/C checked out. Issue was diagnosed to be an A/C recharge, which I went ahead and had done. One week later, the A/C is out again and I brought the car back. The REAL issue was then found to be the compressor ... which would be a full day of repairs and a sizable amount of money. No refund, discount, or anything for the previous misdiagnosis .. except for 10% off if I wanted to get the real problem fixed there. I'll stick to my dealer and my trusted local shop from now on. read more

I give no star if I could. the manager F..... is the most rude one I've ever met in all jiffy lube locations around. interrupted my call and care only selling the most expensive oil and replacement... I do oil change at this location all the time but never ever again since under this manager. I stopped by today for oil change, he recommended synthetic one the most expensive one, I said conventional ok, during his paperwork printing I changed mind and repeat I go convention oil, he whispered to worker and turned back to me told , he's been changing.. (total 3 seconds) I told him while paying, you make little more this time, but you lose a customer! --- of course he doesn't care. Had my front brakes done there and 2 weeks later they locked up on me while driving. I got stranded at a Chevy dealership...being I was a finance manager in the car business for the last 20 years I walked inside and asked the mechanic if he could take a quick peek. Was told whoever put them on at jiffy lube had to have been "new" and didn't have a clue as to what he was doing. I called jiffy lube and was told to "pay" for the tow. After sitting there for almost 3 hours while they found the correct mechanic to fix the problem the manager came out and gave me a line of bullshit and said "the brakes were lubricated improperly and it had a reaction to my abs"...really I sat there and took photos of you replacing the entire caliper on the right side. I did record that conversation and every conversation I had with them. Not to mention all the techs that were huddling around and laughing at the garbage break job that was evident...got photos of that also. Still waiting for my tow reimbursement...not going to hold my breath. I will be opening a credit card dispute for time wasted, tow, and safety factor as I could have killed myself and or my family and 6 year old son! read more

Oil changed at the Ulster Ave location they only did an oil change and did not do any of the value added services particularly the floor vacuuming which on the receipt was marked as "completed". It was not. I removed everything the inside of my car so they can vacuum without obstacles. I was very disappointed on my way home to notice the lack of service and care my car was giving no attempt was made to clean the floors. Also Tire pressure was low (27) in one and high (40) in the other three! I have emailed them and JiffyLube for a week with no response. read more

I'm sitting at my local jiffy lube. I've been here several times--but because of this experience, I'll definitely be back. I stopped by because my "check oil light came on". About 1000 miles or so prior I had my oil changed at this location and they must have forgotten to reset. Let's face it, that's common. So I swung by since my owners manual was less than helpful. Not only did they take my car quickly to reset, but they even washed my windows while I was waiting. Completely unnecessary, but what a wonderful touch. They'll be seeing me again . read more

These are the nicest mechanics ever! I got a maintenance check and oil change here...I wish they offered more car services but unfortunately I have to go elsewhere for a wheel alignment, etc. I definitely trust these guys and will only go here for car maintenance checks from now on. A little more expensive but, the service was great and friendly as I arrived 15 minutes till closing . I expected them to tell me that it was to late for the oil change but, they were happy to do the. Like I said before, sometime you get what you pay for. I went here in February for the first time, and was happy with the service, except that they said I needed a new air filter and they didn't have it. Went back after another 5,000 miles, and they said the air filter was fine. I hadn't changed it. I asked the manager what was up, and he pulled the air filter, and it needed to be changed. I told him that I didn't appreciate being lied to, and I would not be returning. He apologized. I went and bought an air filter at an auto parts store and changed it myself. I will not be back. An air filter for a Mazda CX5 should be available, IMO, and if not, then say so, but don't lie and say it's OK. read more

I am beyond disappointed in this Jiffy Lube. I had been coming here solely on the fact that I believed the guys there weren't selling me extras and knew what each specific car needed. I brought my car in for a routine oil change and they offered a fuel injector cleaning on my system because it looked "pretty gunked up." After getting it done, engine light comes on. I take it to AutoZone to have it assessed, it's the manifold intake. Bring it back to Jiffy Lube and they say they cannot fix it, "would be too expensive and timely." Really what he meant was we screwed up and don't want to be liable anymore because when I brought it to my mechanic he rooted the problem in my manifold to the cleaning and in all, cost me $800 to fix. Thank you Jiffy Lube for sticking to your creed of getting us in and out fast, you really focus on that and not on the fact that upon review, my car's specs actually advise against what you did to it, and shame on me that I learn after the fact. Well, I have learned, and I learned that I will NEVER be coming back to ANY Jiffy Lube to let you screw it up again. Went in and got a front headlight changed in my car. The price was reasonable and the service was quick, no complaints here.

Needed a quick oil change and they got me in right away! Also checked all engine fluids and made sure my tires were at the right pressure. They were very thorough and I was in and out within 20 minutes! Definitely will be back. read more

I pulled in 2 minutes before closing time on a Saturday & they still took me! Very nice, very fast. They showed me my air filter, told me how long it had been since it was last changed & asked if I wanted to replace it. I had to call my husband (because I know nothing about cars!) and they patiently waited while I called. We got a new air filter, oil changed & all paid up in about 9 minutes and I did not feel rushed at all. Fast service, super nice people, informative but never too pushy probably the only 10 min oil change place in the world who can actually get it done in 10 min people have never been pushy with me but always take a few minute to give me the full run down on my vehicle I even asked for a recommendation of a detailing place and the attendant sat there and talked me through a few best options that he's been to. For basic service needs this has been a good stop for me. They vacuum your car and fill up windshield wiper fluid when getting an oil change. Jiffy Lube oil changes might be $10 more then some places but if your time is valuable and you don't want to wait somewhere for 2 hours, then it is worth it to come here and be out in...a Jiffy. Tip: they usually have coupons for some amount $2-5 off available on their webpage and also an occasional Groupon for $20. I have also had my brake light replaced and fluid exchanges done before and will be getting my drive belt replaced here. They are MUCH quicker and MUCH cheaper for those services then a dealer (Woodfield Nissan I'm looking at you!) will do for the same parts and service. They may tell you what your car needs and try to sell you air filters, wiper blades or other things you can do by yourself in 2 minutes, but I have never met a mechanic that doesn't do that to make some money. At least they aren't pushy about it here. The bad reviews seem to be people who don't understand what Jiffy Lube is, which is why I felt the need to write this in the first place. If you have larger car issues, need an issue diagnosed, need a loaner vehicle or generally don't know what you need...then yes take it to your dealer or full service mechanic. read more

Avoid this place by any means!! I took in my car to jiffy lube for the first time. I put synthetic blend and was showed one price, but at the time of paying my total was $30 over what i was originally quoted, i decided to let it go by and didn't take to much care as-long as my change was done properly. Two week into my oil change a "low engine oil" turned on. I didn't Worry to much since i knew i had done the oil change 2 weeks prior and figured they just forgot to reset a light. Non the less I took it in the next day and i was told i was 3qt down from 2 weeks ago. That is absurd they told me i needed an engine swap??? What?? Fist how can you make conclusions when all you do is change oil. I went back and looked at my invoice and i realized they used a lower viscosity oil that what my engine requires. They put a much thinner oil which caused the excessive oil burning. What frusturates me the most is the possible damage this may have caused my engine running on low oil because they didnt put the correct oil. I since then drained the garbage they put in my car and put the proper oil required, im about two weeks in and not a single qt has burned. Their mistake could have cost me my engine! I'm actually writing this review on behalf of my mom but I couldn't pass up writing about the customer service she received. Originally going in for a routine oil change, she learned something bigger was wrong with her car and they kindly and respectfully let her know. Because of the services she was getting done, she was there for quite a while and after about 3 hours of waiting an employee was kind enough to give her a ride home. I brought my mom back to get her car and the employees they gave her a run down of what they were doing on her car while she was away. Went for a oil change and it will be the last time I ever go there. I had two leaks that was not discovered but the Lower Bay Tech. The other Tech never advise me that my transmission fluid was low. He also did not advise me that he could top it off for a extra fee. They were more concern with selling air filters. I took my car to my mechanic and he redid the oil change because I cant trust Jiffy Lube. I called back there next day and spoke to the Mgr. It's amazing how each jiffy lube location is different. I was hesitant to stop in because my last few experiences with a different location were not good ones. Well my faith in jiffy lube has been restored. At least this location - windows and mirrors cleaned, seats vacuumed, and quick service! I brought my car in for an oil change. The mechanic removed the key I had in the ignition and after the oil change was done, he tried to repeatedly force another key on my key ring into the ignition. He bent some of the tumblers in the ignition cylinder and I had to hire a locksmith for $330 to remove the bent tumblers so that I could start my car again. But for the actions of this Jiffy Lube, I would not have had to hire a locksmith and I would not have been forced to pay $330 for their mistake. My request for payment of the repair costs was denied. Went for an oil change package which included all sorts of other things besides the lube job. Later, got a flat tire (not their fault of course) and the dealership asked if I wanted my fluids topped off. What??? I told them I just had it at Jiffy Lube and he laughed. He said the guys are there to upsell you on other services and don't necessarily pay attention to all the little things they claim they check in their oil change "specials". JL did suggest I buy all sorts of other packages but I smartly declined while trying to remember they are a business. This is probably the best Jiffy Lube I've been to. I walked in ready to shoot down any upsells they tried to push on me. There was only two, one of which was a brake light. That was only $10 so I said sure. When it came time to pay, the guy who had been working on my car (Alfredo) said that they thought it was electrical since they changed the light and it didn't work. I ended up only paying for the oil change! I figured they would charge me anyway since they used the part and the labor (I mean, I know it's only a light the labor is practically nonexistent). I am DEFINITELY going back for an oil change next time I need one! read more

I've come to this jiffy lube for the past two years. Service has always been fast and competent. This last visit I noticed new staff. I was the only car in the place. Everything went fine until I noticed the staff was goofing off. One person was filling my brand new tires with air and I thought it was odd since my car has an indicator for low tires and it was not blinking when I handed the car over. I didn't say anything though; these are supposed to be professionals. I paid and got in my car to leave. Not two minutes pass and my check tire pressure indicator went off. I went to a gas station to check all four tires and one of them was much lower than all the others. My recommendation to this jiffy lubes management would be to pay attention to how your staff if behaving. Their goofing off is fine but not at the expense of customer service. read more

Don't go there! I went for an oil change about two months ago, and was told I should consider getting my tires rotated. So I did. After driving away, something didn't seem right and my front end was a bit wobbly. My car started making a terrible knocking noise while I was driving, turning, and braking. We went back to get another oil change, and have the tires rotated back. When they were rotating the tires this time, we saw one of the mechanics break a stud. My husband noticed this as he has had experience in this field. As we were about to leave, the mechanic said, "Oh, I should warn you there are five broken studs on the car." WHAT???? We are NOT going to dirve away when any one of my tires could fall off at any time, especially finding out that the front passenger tire was held on by only two studs. We made them fix all of the studs, and they could fix all but one. They had us go to Firestone to fix the final stud because they couldn't get it out to replace. After going to Firestone, it became more than removing and replacing the stud...to find out that when the mechanics at jiffy lube were trying to remove the studs they damaged the caliper and wheel bearings. Now costing us $500. That's not even the end of it....they also wanted to replace the cabin air filter, which we had them do less than a year ago. We actually bought the filter at a local auto parts store for only $10 and took it to jiffy lube to replace instead of paying $40 for the CAF from them. When we were this this last time, they brought out the CAF and it was the original from the car!!!! They never replaced it!!!!!! Sure, Jiffy Lube is known for it's upselling but hey, they are quick! If you don't want the hassle, even on busy days, then go in and you'll usually have your car ready in about 15 minutes. I went into this one of Hoffman Estates this past weekend, and the guy was great, telling me that'd I'd be out and ready really quickly. Of course, like I said, I had to deny all the extras and upsells before and after the oil change, but it's not so bad considering it's cheap and fast. read more

BEWARE!!!!! The Operations manager is Brian. I took my 2011 Scion to this location to have my wiper blades replaced. I was given two price options of course I went with the cheaper. Which was a difference of about $10 a blade. Brian right away seemed to take issue with my choice of blades. The blades were installed as I waited inside and my old ones wasn't offered to me at all. Next I presented, Brian with a coupon code because I drive for Uber and he starts at me about a vehicle inspection. I declined because Uber was performing my inspection the next day. Brian, just seemed really put out that I wasn't PUTTING out a large amount of cash at this car repair "snack shop." Upon leaving I notice the wipers have scratched my front windshield. I attribute this to the windshield or blades not being cleaned prior to installation. I did not want any problems and although it upset me, I did not return. . . Until a week later during a rain storm because the wipers just were not clearing the rain. Just what I feared happened is why I did not want to return. Brian double talked me, he took ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY for the damage he could clearly see. Brian, installed my wipers a week prior as well as today. He would not own the fact that he did not clean my windshield prior to install.. He also gave me the option of paying the difference for the more expense blade. The blade he really wanted installed a week prior. I am more disappointed in the LACK of customer service and their lack of training. I ended up with replacements of the current blades and a FREE spray of Rain-X on my windshield that this cheap Operations manager, Brian was sure to tell me was a $7.99 value. This is my second and last time being burned by the no trained or SUPER under trained staff at ANY jiffy lube. I would give 1 star but that's NEVER an option. read more
