Remember this: YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. Now, after leaving Peanut's Auto Repair, I drove right down the street to Jiffy Lube - the Seven Eleven of oil change shops. I pulled into the parking space and was looking through some viable options when a redheaded teen walked up in blue coveralls and asked if I was wanting an oil change. Sure, I replied, but I wanted to check out what other options were available to me before I pulled in. He looked absolutely perplexed then told me to take my time before sauntering back under the canopy. Ah, what the hell. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's made his/ her decision based on the fact that, since they're a corporate chain and if they f**k my car up, I'm sure they'll make it right, even if I have to take this up to corporate level. Mm hmm. I pull up to the bay and an attractive girl named Laura walks out with what could almost pass for a smile. Throughout the entire exchange, I don't think she smiled once. I tell her what I need, then spend the next ten minutes declining other services that I just simply HAVE to have (full synthetic oil, sludge protection, etc) with a series of No Thank You's before I'm finally told my total: $27. Not bad. From the word go, they're confounded. They're looking in the engine bay, then look underneath, they scratch their head, then look inside the engine bay few more times for good measure, sit inside and look at the instruments, then scratch their head some more. What they're confused about, I haven't a clue. In the waiting room, there's another man waiting for his vehicle. His name is Ryan as well. Laura calls him out to the repair bay and explains that, when they drained the used oil out of his car, only half a quart came out and that he really needs the sludge service or something. Now, Ryan confesses that he's not a mechanical genius but that he'd have noticed something different if he's gown down from at least four quarts of lubricants to 0.5. Me, I'm gonna have to go with Ryan on this one. Having an amazing name aside, he seems like an intelligent guy and that Your- Car- Is- About- To- Die schtick just screams snake oil. My turn: Laura calls me out to the repair bay this time. She tells me that, surprise surprise, my oil is a quart low and that I must have some problem with - you guessed it - sludge. She recommends the sludge service for me as well. I just give her a look. I'm sure anyone who has some smartass friends know the "... really??" look. Laura looks almost embarrassed, actually. I decline the service and they go on with the Basic Crap (I feel they stopped just short of naming it that) service. The redheaded guy pulls my car out of the bay and I, having paid my $27, stand and wait for him to get out of my car. Few minutes pass and he's still in there. What he's doing, I don't know. So I walk up and he has that same perplexed look he had when I first came in. He says he's trying to reset the service alert. I wait patiently as he clicks away in my car. He finally gives me a sheepish grin and asks if I know how to reset it. "Sure, I'll take care of it," I reply. The he adds a comment that, at the same time, enlightens me and scares me into not coming back. "I've never worked on an Infiniti... we never get those cars here." Yikes. You are an oil place of business...Please select what kind of oil I would like, he recommended the 69.00 oil change, then the 52.00, etc. I asked again about the guy swinging the $25 special, tech responds, o we stop that offer last night. 43.00 oil change, sucks not again, financially violated..... read more

Terrible experience! I was quoted incorrectly over the phone. To make matters worse, I even repeated the price to confirm before I drove over. When I got there and explained I called a few minutes earlier and was quoted a certain amount, they asked who did I talk too. Never got an apology, nothing. Then when they wanted to charge me DOUBLE, I said there was a place down the street that would do the oil change for $10 less and there was a car wash included. Response from the associate that appeared to be the manager, "Well, we're not the place down the street." Worst customer service ever!!!! I just picked up and left. I hope corporate reads this and gets a handle on their name brand. Because guess what? I will think twice before frequenting any Jiffy Lube ever again, and I hope you do too. read more

Beware especially girls, they will try to up sale you,. Every time I've been here they try to say something else is wrong with your car even if you had it recently fixed. Just demand you want oil change only! Today they told 3 girls they needed their batteries replaced. It's a good place when you're in a hurry but you will pay more than other places. I started this review months ago and forgot to finish it. I just went in there and told them a oil change only! Don't try to up sale me! At the end they told me things they recommended , and that I need my head light replaced. They said I will get a ticket for it! But I know how to do it myself, and said no. When we went back to pick up the car...the moment we started to drive this LOUD horrible sound screeched from the car!! The employees ran out and nervously asked to check out the car. I have really been debating about writing a review for this place. Honestly, it has been close to year since my last time there. I just was not sure if I should bother to write a review, but every time I think about my car, this last visit to Jiffy Lube just really annoys me. FIRST TIME I have been there twice and the first time the guy was really nice, I think he had red hair? But I was also aware that they were aware it was a "first-time" service. But I left satisfied with the job they did. So, I went back a second time. SECOND TIME The guy was not the same one and he was not as nice. I asked for the $65 oil change because I drive between SF and SD a few times a year and I also asked for a tire rotation. Jiffy Lube puts air in the tires, vacuums the floor (if there is anything on the floor they do not move it to vacuum), and tops of fluids all for free. I sat inside the waiting room in comfy, but low chairs. I noticed that the window, which looks into the work area was higher up and the chairs were low. So, you cannot see them working on the cars if you are sitting down. Eventually, they finished working on my car and I left feeling like everything was okay. PROBLEMS Maybe a day later, my tire pressure light went on and I tried turning it off/resetting it but it would just turn back on. It stayed on for a month until I went back to SF. My brother decided to check out my car before I left to come back to SD. Right away he noticed to coolant reserve was empty and that I had a very noticeable leak in the tank (it was caked up with crusty pink coolant around the leak). It would have been nice if Jiffy Lube had noted the leak in their findings, since it was so obvious... But I played it off as whatever, that's not really their job, but it would have been nice. My brother checked the air in the tires and it was fine. But the light still would not go off. Fast forward to 7 months later. I am once again in SF and my brother is checking over the car more thoroughly for me since during that time I had not gotten my car serviced. He went to replace the oil and found that the crush washer for the oil pan drain plug was MISSING. They either lost it and did not bother to inform me or they forgot to put it back on at Jiffy Lube. Either way I felt slighted, because hey, she won't know! On top of that my tire light still wont turn off. I have never had that problem before that last time at Jiffy Lube. Which was also the time that I asked them to rotate the tires... I kind of wonder if they messed something up... BOTTOM LINE: I went there twice. First time everything went fine. Second time, I feel like I did not get the best service...it would have nice of them to notify me of the coolant leak and also note the really dirty transmission fluid- which they saw because they topped it off. JUST PUT IT IN THE NOTES! It's called customer service! As for the tires, buyer beware! AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT WASHER FOR THE OIL PAN?!?! Hmm, guess they figured I would never know... I mean, its the oil pan (their main job!) how could you forget to basically do your job, unless you lost it... *I would give it 2 stars, but the first time, as far as I know, everything was good. Fast oil change, but I am giving this place three stars because of the following reason... Saturday morning, I bought new floor mats for my car, vacuumed it out, wiped down my dashboards and the insides of my windows. My 13 year old car was sparkling clean again. I then topped off the maintenance with an oil change at jiffy lube. I was dismayed to find that the technicians had not placed the standard paper floor mat down when they drove my car. My BRAND new floor mat on the driver's side now has grease/dirt stains. I am frustrated because though the work itself seems to be fine, the technicians did not treat the interior of my car with any care. I had already started to drive away by the time I noticed, and didn't know what complaining would do, but I am very disappointed that my car mats, literally new hours before the change, are now dirtied. Unfortunately that makes me question whether I would want to return to this location, or any jiffy lube. read more

DO NOT go to this place. They are never busy for a reason. They try to win you over with their nice and friendly customer service but in reality is a cover up for the "half-assed" job they'll do on your car. Especially if you are a woman, they'll cut corners when servicing you vehicle hoping that you'll be too dumb to notice or too chicken to go back and ask questions. I went in to get an A/C job on my car, the technician, Cruz, told me that it should last 3 years, it lasted 2 weeks, I was not able to bring it in until the third week and I asked what happen? and he said we'll you have a leak, I asked well isn't checking for leaks or installing an anti-leak dye part of the repair? he said no, I pulled out my receipt and I showed him that the anti-leak repair was included on the receipt, he said no ma'am, you were not charged for that so then I asked what was the $149.99 +tax that I paid for? he gave me no explanation, and why would you put Freon without checking for a leak first? I made my way to the check out counter to speak to someone else that can further explain the receipt and the repair to me, Cruz came around the other side of the counter and I told him then since it hasn't been even 30 days since repair that I would like to get my money back, I was with my 4-year old and never did I raise my voice, though, Cruz got very frustrated about my questions and proceeded to slam the counter real hard with his fist and shout something like "Dammit!" and walk out the office, I can't really remember what he said, but startled my 4-year old and myself. I guess this is a scare tactic to get me to leave? I asked the other girl there, that I wanted to see a manager and she said he is the manager!....what a joke of a place, I ended up leaving because everyone else ignored me ( I guess their nice and friendly service went out the window) and I wasn't able to speak to someone else that could actually help. Just go to Firestone across the street, it might cost you more but at least, they'll do a more thorough job and their work is guaranteed if their should ever be a problem, which is NOT the case with this place. If they mess up your car, you are screwed, they will not work with you, let alone give you your money back. I will NOT be going back and I do not recommend this place. ***UPDATE**** Jiffy Lube Corp. did take action regarding this issue and I am pleased that I was able to recover my money. Now, I can only hope they will also improve the quality of work and the customer service at this particular location. read more

I'm actually surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet. We had been here a couple of years back and had a weird experience that was not that favorable, but I forget the specific details of. Some sort of system flush we paid extra for, and a weird sound or symptom that the car exhibited afterwards that was normal and temporary but that they didn't tell us to expect. So we had some extra worry for nothing. Anyhow the second time around we were in and out quickly without incident. The guy who helped us was nice enough, he did the standard attempt to upsell us on services, but I come to expect it from the Lube so I know how to deflect it. Overall it's a decent location. And they were playing Cops on their pitiful waiting room TV which was a nice touch. read more

Nolan was very courteous and professional. He thoroughly reviewed the work done and the metrics. As required, he attempted to cross-sell a maintenance service I do need (which I declined), but did it without exerting pressure. Adolfo and his team are the best. I used to go to another Jiffy location, but decided to give this location a try because it is closer to my home. No wait on the afternoon of Memorial Day. I called in advance to make sure they were open. I knew what oil service I wanted, I brought my coupon from the Jiffy Lube app, and check in was a breeze. Adolfo knew my name before I even got out of the car. I almost procrastinated my oil change (again) but the dashboard warning was flashing 20% remaining oil life, so I finally took the plunge. I'm so glad I did. It's unusual to find any service provider any more who is sincere about providing the best service, and with this location, there is no question that they want to make the customer happy. Go already. Well, they did change the oil in about 15 minutes, but then spent the next 30+ minutes trying to figure out how to reset the maintenance reminder on the dash. After nearly an hour, I convinced the tech to drive it away with the maintenance reminder still up because I had to go to work. The kicker? I went home and reset it in my driveway in 2 mins. Also, they failed to apply a promised discount. That's several strikes on a place that performs a service that can be done more efficiently elsewhere. read more

By far the worst experience of my life. They weren't prepared with the supplies needed (filter) for my oil change and completed everything without the filter. Was told "someone" from AutoZone was driving it over and it might be 20 minutes...fine...after over an hour still nothing and who I assume was the manager, Angel, was rude and uncommunicative. He just kept saying "there's nothing he could do". He COULD have driven over to pick it up himself 45 minutes earlier. Instead decided to be lazy and absolutely incompetent. To top it all off many of the employees (including incompetent Angel) wasn't wearing a mask the whole time or was wearing it incorrectly. I often felt unsafe, especially when Angel came to my window to basically reprimand me on my frustration. After over 1.5 hours, I was finally out of hell. I will never return and will ensure everyone I know never returns either. This place needs to be completely restaffed. read more

I came in to ask for a lift inspection and they said to come back tomorrow because the girl that does the lift inspections is not here at the moment. When I came back the next day I drove by the shop and saw the very same manager Albert that I had spoken with the previous day lying on pavement where the lift inspection cars go, just relaxing looking at his phone. This jiffy lube is the greatest jiffy lube is any American state south of Canada and north of Mexico. The staff is quick and knowledgeable. I was first greeted by a young man named Bernardo (courtesy technician) who took me in with tender love and care and treated me like a close friend. I then had my American piece of steel worked on by a technician by the name of Joseph. I don't know what kind of sorcery this man performed on my vehicle but when I turned it over I heard the power of 1000 screaming bald eagles through my v8 4 by 4 machine and I swear I saw Andrew Jackson rise from his grave and ride off on his beautiful brown steed . I usually go to this Jiffy Lube because it's so close to my house & id rather not go to Walmart and wait hours just to get an oil change. When I got there I was greeted by the Manger, Adolfo. I said I needed an oil change & quickly the crew started working on my car. Adolfo was friendly, welcoming & very customer oriented. I work in a customer service environment & I could tell right away they take care of their customers. The best part is the oil change only took 10-15 minutes. If there were only ZERO stars, I'd choose it. I took my 2007 BMW 530i in for oil a few weekends ago. For over $100, they didn't even clean the rear window. They were also too lazy to reset the oil change sensor, so now it's asking for an oil change still. As if that's not enough, I was driving up the 5 earlier this week when all the plastic shield under the car flew off at highway speeds and were destroyed on the 5 by other cars. I called AAA and the guy looked under the car, and said "the last service you had didn't replace the panels correctly - they're all gone and you'll be out $1000 at BMW". I'm taking the car in for service today, I'm sending the bill to Jiffy Lube, and then I'm going to small claims court if I need to. There's not a judge alive who hasn't been screwed by car repair or oil change. I hope I get to slap a lien on the Jiffy Lube or shut it down a few days waiting for my judgement to be paid. NEVER AGAIN. I notified corporate Jiffy Lube today the bill for the under car protective panels is coming, and that I'm fine with going to Small Claims court to get a judgement that I'll post on Yelp as well if they decide to try to duck the cost of their negligence. read more

So far I have changed my oil myself and only ever paid for a full service just once before. Due to my bad experience with this other car service facility and all of the stigmas that come with car shops, I was hesitant to take my car to an actual service center. However, my car had suddenly gone to red on the dashboard so I figured I should pay for a legit oil change. After I saw all of the other inspections and services that come with a Jiffy Lube oil change I was sold. I even got a discount for printing out a coupon off of their website beforehand. As soon as I arrived I was quickly greeted and accepted for my service, even without an appointment. Within 20 minutes my car was ready to go. The windows were clean and the car was looked over fairly well. They even informed me that my transmission fluid was shot and showed me a sample. They offered me a discount, but I wasn't prepared for such a purchase and declined that day. A few days later I thought it over and decided to get my transmission fluid changed. The employees had recognized me and still applied the $30 discount. I could tell that they were being honest and were not simply trying to swindle me. The only issue I had was that afterwards, I had a leak that I quickly noticed when I returned home. Luckily, I took the car back and the issue was a quickly resolved. I really enjoyed the customer service that I received at this location. Jason and Joseph were both respectful and honest, so I definitely trusted them with my car. Thanks a lot guys. read more

I pass by this particular jiffy lube (Lake Murray blvd.) On a daily basis. They've had a promotional banner outside there shop months, at least 4 months. The promotion was for an oil change, $24.99. When I went to get my oil change they wanted to charge me $67.00 not including the tax. I asked the worker "what about the promotion I seen?" And he said they haven't had any promotions out there like that. Then just to top everything all off, he asked me if I wanted my tires rotated? It'll only cost $21.99. That's funny when discount tire does that for FREE!!! Bottom line these people are jokes and just want to rip you off. I'll never do business with them again. read more
