Went in for an oil change. When I pulled up, there was one car in each stall. A young man came to greet me. I asked how long it would take for an oil change. I explained that I was in a hurry, and could leave the car and pick it up in an hour if that was feasible. He stated that it would take 20 min to check me in. I agreed to the service. Went into the waiting room ( which was empty) hoping he would be there soon to start the process. Watched him BS with other service members, flirt with a female customer and take his sweet time doing everything except checking me in. Never once did he work on a computer or greet another customer. He was laughing and talking about the warriors in the finals. After 10 min, I asked how long he thought it would be before he could check me in? His reply was " I did tell you it would be 20 min". I said "Yes you did, but I'm in a hurry and you don't seem to be busy with other customers, seeing that the three that were there were already being taken care of. He tells me that he told me 20 min so HE WOULDN'T FEEL RUSHED. At that moment I got in my vehicle and drove away. Went to the jiffylube in Berkeley, where they serviced my vehicles and had me on my way in less than 15 min. GREAT service on University Ave! Not so good in Lafayette. read more

About average for a Jiffy Lube. Definitely friendly and well trained staff but christ-a-mighty do they have a lot of traffic. I waited FOREVER today and watched as my car sat there, hood up, nothing happening. They definitely need about 10 more people running the show if they are going to claim it "jiffy". Last time I ever come here. First time I brought my wife's car here they changed the air filter and didn't put it in correctly and the car kept bogging out and had no power, second time they didn't put the washer fluid in so I had to drive back again. And it's not like it's cheap or anything, take your money somewhere else. read more

Last month my autistic son went to Jiffylube for an oil change. They advised him that he needed front brakes. They then told him he needed rear brakes. He called us and we told him not to have Jiffylube do the brakes. We drove to the Lafayette Jiffylube and they demanded that we pay. The bill was over $700. The staff took advantage of our son who clearly did not have the money to pay for these charges. We ended up having to pay labor charges of several hundred dollars just to get the car back. We then brought the car to our usual garage. The car did not need brakes. Jiffylube is a rip off and should not be supported with your business. read more

I went here because I forgot to book an appointment at Midas and needed an oil change. Prices are expensive and the service was sub par. Just went to Midas to get follow up oil change and Jiffy Lube didn't put the oil cap back on or reset the computer. Overpriced and poor service. Midas on North Main in Walnut Creek is awesome. I took my car in for a free brake inspection as advertised. I called 3 times before on a weekend but the "brake specialist" was out. So, I took it on a weekday. They said it would be 45mins to an hour. Ten minutes later, someone came over to me and said I needed to come look at the car. A Jiffy Lube employee, Matthew, said that he moved my car 10 feet and hear something pop when he pressed the brakes. Next, he proceeded to tell me that parts (a master cylinder) needed to be replaced and it would cost me upwards of $350. He also didn't admit any fault for essentially ruining the part that needed to be replaced. All I came in was to confirm that I needed to add some brake fluid ($10-$20 cost) as I suspected it was low after checking the reservoir under the hood. I came out with a nonfunctional car that doesn't brake. He even said that I couldn't drive it anymore and that I should have it towed home. Completely incompetent people. Never ever go to Jiffy Lube unless you want the worst service/transparency/etc. ever. read more

I came here recently, to get my oil change before heading out for a long drive. I'm usually hesitant from such places but my local mechanic was already closed and really needed to have my oil checked before I continued driving. By the time I filled out my paper work and made myself some coffee, the job was done. It's very convenient, you don't have to worry about dropping off your car, and arranging rides. They also check put air in your tires and check your water. Over all great customer service and great coffee. read more

Have brought my truck there for many years for basic oil changes. My truck does not drip at all, until this last service. They told me of no problems before or after, then found a huge oil stain on my driveway, and found a new oil pan plug with a bunch of goop around the plug. Obviously they strippped the bolt and tried to cover it up. In the midst of seeing how corporate will handle it. My truck is now in a shop to see if it the plug can be rethread or if I need a new pan. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I took my car there for an oil change a few weeks back. Within 30 minutes of leaving, my oil was completely empty. I had to find a mechanic that would take me in for an emergency. The mechanic said the threads on the oil pan were completely stripped and no longer will hold a drain plug in place. 3 days later and $800 down the drain including the Uber's and taxis I was forced to use without a car, I received my car back. I then send over the invoice from the mechanic to the jiffy lube store. I detailed the series of events that led to the damage. Initially I get a call from the store manager apologizing and stating he will send me a refund. A few days after that, I get a call from the district manager stating he will not refund me. He explains that it was documented that my drain plug was stripped prior to them working on it. Keep in mind, my car had absolutely no signs of oil leak for the prior two years. Not to mention this was not communicated with me when I was in the store. And if that was the case why did the store manager not mention that when we initially spoke a few days prior and why was he so willing to give me the refund initially? End of story, I did not get the refund. This is a shady business and they clearly do not know how to change oil without damaging cars. I should have read their yelp page before going! I didn't work anything out in advance or even give them a heads up when i might come in, but I did go on the middle of a Sunday afternoon (admittedly, during the 49ers game and middle innings of the Giant's season finale - i wanted to give them a chance to succeed). The manager who works here is the reason mechanics have a bad name. I had one of the most horrible experiences here. I came in for a simple oil change, and the manager gave me a list of 10 other things I "should" get done. I agreed to one of the extra things because he said he would give me $10 off for getting it done. But, when I got my final bill, I was charged for the oil change, the 1 extra thing I agreed to, and another $120 extra thing. I was furious. And so, when I spoke with him and told him that I did not agree to this add-on, he stated that I had in fact said ok to it. We both explained ourselves and re-hashed the conversation, basically ending with a he said, she said argument. The only thing he could do for me is take an extra $10 off. $10 off a $120 charge for something I didn't even want. That hardly makes a dent, and therefore, I would never have agreed to it in the first place. Stay away from this place! The manager is so shady, and his customer service skills need a lot of work. The one star is for the other employees who seemed sympathetic to my cause and made an effort to give me as big of a discount as possible. read more

I have been meaning to write a review about this place for a while. I am always so frustrated and late to wherever​ I am going next when I go here. Just out of curiosity I read the other reviews​ and I must say i see a common theme with my experience​. I have been there 20 before minutes​ after when they were supposed to open and no one was there. I have found that the staff is very unprofessional and lazy. The customer service is abhorrent​, it is quite obvious the management​ does a very poor job selecting and training it's staff. They often times take much longer than they quote. I will NEVER go here again. Jiffy Lube should think twice about pulling its​ franchise​ on this location - it is doing damage to their brand. read more

Terrible, they lied about the price and when I called them on it and told them to stop they said the couldn't. They wanted to charge me to put oil back into my car. I told Will the manager to just do it and not charge me, which he did while swearing at his guys. I now have to go to Midas, which I should have done in the first place, and waste more of my day. Don't let the long lines discourage you - THE LINE MOVES QUICK! I wasn't sure about the guy telling me it was going to be 30 minutes but it REALLY WAS. The scruffy guy (didn't catch his name) doesn't look like it but he's really polite and friendly. I wasn't pressured to buy anything for my car - he showed me the air filter and I said, "no thank you" he didn't push at all (unlike most auto shops). He also told me about my spark plugs which I didn't even know about. He said they can do it in under an hour and was $130 for my car with the factory parts. I said no thanks again but I told him I would be back for that soon. Later on, another customer got loud with the scruffy employee about trying to be upsold. He wasn't even pressuring in my opinion, he simply asked. I totally didn't agree with how that other customer acted, the poor guy was just doing his job. Just say "no thank you" like I did, no need to get loud in the waiting room with the other customers. I guess some people have no consideration for others...and back to the review. I can't say anything but GOOD things about this place. When I first got there, I asked the guy to make sure they clean it well after the oil change so it doesn't smell like burning oil when I leave. He told me they degrease the area and wash it and they do that with all cars that need it. Unlike the other places I used to go for my oil change, NO BURNING SMELL after the oil change. They've won me over with this alone! All the employees I came in contact with were nice, the area of the shop you have to walk through to get to the waiting room was surprisingly clean, the waiting room itself was clean yet small, they have a Keurig where you can make yourself a free cup of coffee, TV was on an infomercial. When my car was done I found they did a better job on the vacuum than the actual car wash does. Prices might be higher than other places but it's wayy more convenient than dropping off my car for half a day to save $10 somewhere else. What is your time worth? Thank you Jiffy Lube! read more

They are always so nice and honest with me about all the ins and outs of my 2006 Matrix. I returned to the Lafayette Jiffy Lube after striking out badly with very poorly run "Ace Auto Service" across the street, and this time the Jiffy Lube experience was top notch. When I drove in, I got an honest time assessment to complete my vehicle service. They completed the job promptly, in about 20 minutes, without sacrificing quality of work, and filled the oil perfectly, measuring levels three times. At other Jiffy Lube's I've gotten overfills, but not in Lafayette. Also, adviser Matthew was honest, prompt, courteous, and friendly. He never tried to push any upgrades on me, as others have done in the past. Great guy. Great job. He wrote up my service and put this vehicle into the system so fast, and processed my payment without upselling me. The service tech was super meticulous in every part of my service, and worked in a very clear coordinated way with the tech in the pit. I'll be back. Oh, and by the way, even the free coffee was a huge upgrade, since they switched to the high end individual brew cup with French Roast and real half and half !! These guys are reading their reviews and really trying, and it shows. And lastly, for the home run, I forgot my data phone next to the coffee machine, and Matt grabbed it and put it in safekeeping until I returned to retrieve it. What a great guy! read more

I know this is the McDonalds of car maintenance and repair but this is my go to place when I need an oil change. It's quick, the guys are always super nice and helpful, and according to the print out they check all fluids, put air in the tires and even clean the car up a bit. It is not as inexpensive as I'd like but I usually find coupons or Yelp check in deals. With full synthetic I pay about $79. I cannot speak to the experience of the guys working there, but I sure hope they have a decent understanding of all cars and different models. At least they seem to. If in the area and want fast and good service, this is your spot. read more

Came here today around 11 am only since I over slept threw my appointment time at Big O tires. I needed a oil change and tires rotated. Also, my check engine light came on over the weekend and they said they can check it for free. The oil change was done in 20 minutes. Very friendly service. They didn't try to pressure me or up sell me like the walnut creek location does. Which is a huge plus! I didn't catch his name but the tall guy with the locs figured out what the code for the check engine light was. He was very nice and honest on how to test the problem. I just had a service done on my car related to the code two weeks ago and he said the mechanic clearly didn't do the complete job or run the right tests. He let me know what test should be run for the issue and where the parts are located. Also that Jiffy Lube has ASE certified Mechanics and can do more than just the oil change. Talked to a very nice guy named Levi on the phone that said I could use the coupon even though I couldn't print it. Dealt with Mike at the counter, who was also very nice and polite. Service provided was good and fast, at a low price. Vacuumed the floor, cleaned the windows, did a good job. Do NOT be upsold on their "transmission flushes" and the like. These have been shown to potentially doing permanent engine damage and the like. Do not be upsold without reading up first. read more

I have had numerous oil changes here, but went in because oil had leaked all over my engine. Seems like the oil filter was not installed properly and the o ring did not seat. My regular mechanic had found the location of the leak and the reason. I explained it to the manager and he was great. We discussed it thoroughly and he offered to have the engine cleaned down the street. I took him up on it. I realize things happen, but nice to know there are people who will make it right. read more
