The Service Outlet has been our go to place for our Honda. I used to go to the San Ramon location but it's no longer there. The staff is friendly and the prices are very competitive. I also like the 10% off coupon it might not be much but every little bit helps. I always make an appointment and usually get a ride home which is a great service. They are very informative on the progress of my car and usually have it done on the same day. I would definitely recommend this place if you need work done to your Honda. read more

My 2011 Toyota Camry needed a new battery and I was unable to find the right battery. I went to several places with no success. Also my check engine light was on. Mike provided the best service. He was able to find the battery and had it delivered the next day. He was able to correct the check engine light by replacing a sensor and determined the cause was mice eating at the wires in the car. He gave me suggestions on what to use to help keep the mice from eating the wires. I was very pleased with the work and highly recommend them. read more

I've been going to Service Outlet for years for regular service and am finally leaving a review because they generously waived a diagnostic fee and solved an issue with my 2013 Prius at no cost. I saw the temperature light on my dashboard come on within a week of getting regular service. I was worried there could be coolant leaking, but Mike and the team confirmed it's just that my hybrid battery is on its last year and I have options going forward. It would have been almost $100 to run the tests (very reasonable compared to Toyota Concord, for example) but I was told over the phone that it would be free. Mike waived the cost, took care of it within 90 minutes, and gave me a ride to and from my house. I was so pleasantly surprised and could not ask for better service. read more

I recently switched to The Service Outlet and I could not be any more pleased. As a single lady car owner who knows nothing about cars, I really wanted to find someone I trusted, or at least felt trust worthy. Art, at the front desk, has helped me incredibly since my "Emissions System Error" service light lit up on my 2016 Honda Civic last week. He immediately pulled the error code off my car, did some research and came up with a game plan. He sent me to Honda first to see if it was just a software update. Honda charged me $200 to do a diagnostics and they basically told me that they don't know what it is. They recommended a valve adjustment for $325 and it that didn't work then they want to replace my fuel injectors for $1650. I brought this info back to Art and he told me that it's not my valves, that I'd be hearing a clicking noise in my car if it was. He also told me that is piratically unheard of that a car as young as mine would need new injectors. He also told me I would know if one of my injectors was bad. I'm having zero issues with the car, just the damn engine light, everything else is working and sounding great. I take very good care of my car. Art then came up with a new plan for me.....he really "doesn't want me to spend any more money than I have too". He's having me call Honda and request Goodwill Assistance, since this is not a normal issue on my car. He advised me on how to get what I want from them. He also called his friend at Honda Oakland and gave me that guy's advice. He's gone above and beyond for me over the last week, and hasn't asked for a penny! I am so happy I found the service outlet randomly because they more than lived up to my expectations. I'd taken my 2010 Honda Accord into the Honda dealership like an idiot and of course they charged me lots of money to do lots of things. When I got my car back, the issue was not fixed so I brought it back to the dealership and again, they wanted to charge me lots of money to do lots of things. I wanted a second opinion so I randomly found the service outlet on Mr Diablo. Everyone there was professional, competent, and knowledgeable. They ended up keeping my car overnight and gave me a rental car for FREE! They were so trustworthy and honest and I am so excited to have found my new car shop. The people at the service outlet fixed my car for HUNDREDS of dollars less than what the Honda dealership was going to charge me. I will NEVER go back to the dealership. Huuuuge shout out to the guys at Service Outlet but especially to Art and Mike! I had originally gone to Jiffy Lube to get my brake pads and rotors fixed but they were very clearly incompetent and tried charging me $900 without even inspecting my brakes. Being a young woman in my 20's who knows next to nothing about cars, it can be really hard finding an honest and trustworthy mechanic because most shops will take advantage if they can tell you don't know any better. Not only did Art reassure me that they would try and do the most to try and machine my rotors before completely replacing them, but they were actually able to do that AND they gave me a discount for my brakes as well. I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. I was charged almost $200.00 for them to screw in the lid of my gas cap. I am 74 years old, living on social security. This is price gouging. Beware of this unethical behavior before you decide to use service outlet. read more

Requested 2nd opinion after dealership quoted a high estimate to fix air conditioner involving replacing valves. Service outlet found a dead rodent and nesting that obstructed airflow and cost was over half of the dealership estimate. The staff was quick and efficient. These guys are awesome! I used to come here to service previous vehicles and then bought an Audi that I've sent sold. My latest Acura was due for service. I was able to book an appointment quickly and have my service completed early to make my trip on time. These guys went above and beyond providing me a loaner and service tips. Love this place more and more every visit! The hatch struts on my Toyota Prius needed to be fixed. I emailed them to get a quote and they scheduled me for an appointment within a week. Art was very helpful on email, answering my million of questions. I came in at 8 a.m. and two of their workers knocked out my issue and replaced the parts within a half hour. today I stopped in because my RX 330 sun visor pivot point detached from its 2 mounting screws. It hangs by 2 wires and only fits loosely into threads. Art came out and in 5 minutes was able to remove the screws properly and reattach the sun visor. Now it is so secure. Over time all fasteners loosen. they are my "go to" location for routine maintenance. I have been a long time and satisfied customer for many years. added bonus is the courtesy car ride to and from home for car pickup. read more

Update: They refunded the full amount, so I updated my review from 1 star to 3. Original review: Me and my wife brought the car for oil change and rotating the tires. They told me that they did rotate the tires and changed the oil and I paid $122.39. Later, I found they did not rotate the tires, although they did charge us for it, and told us repeatetly that they did do it, and wrote that on the receipt. I had to go there a second time the next day and I asked for a full refund since 1) they lied to me, 2) I wasted two days for a simple thing, 3) I wasn't sure if they did any work at all. The owner, Art Meaneafaiga at first refused to give me a refund. Later he only refunded $30, in cash, without any receipt. I still want a full refund because I am not sure if they did any work at all on my car. read more

For last four years I drove to this service without any problems.Before COVID in San Ramon service and after in Lafayette. All was correct and friendly. Last week I reserved appointment my daughters car only for check brakes. I understand that it process maximum 2 hours. When I arrived on service at 10p m. on Friday, man from shop, spoke me that service nor have a time for my car that day and all work they finished only Monday on next week. I have used the Service Outlet many times over the years. Last week I took my Prius there because the battery was dead, and I just replaced the battery. They called me about 15 minutes later to tell me the positive connection was loose and that was the problem (I installed the battery, oops). No charge. Another time I took my Honda there because I thought it needed a new timing belt. They call me and told me it did not need to be done (apparently, I forgot that I had done it at the dealership). Honestly is a huge part of choosing a place to service your car, and they have proven more than once to be honest. It was sad to hear that they closed the San Ramon location couple of years ago we still drive all the way to this location in Lafayette. We always trust them however during my last visit it didn't quite feel good with the service provided.
