We came in just before closing on a Sunday, with a skid plate hanging down. The tech on duty snugged up the bolts that hadn't worked their way free and fallen out. He also zip tied the holes with the missing bolts. But the best part is that when I called him the next day he not only remembered me, but he was able to tell me how many of which type of bolts I needed to order from the dealership. Thanks Jerome. It was done less than an hour. I didn't need to wait a lot. Also, there are a lot of places nearby to eat lunch and go for shopping. Jiffy Lube - Did a great job on my headlights - Auto Repair Near Me - Newark, California

The Jiffy Lube in Newark, CA did about $400 of damage to my car. My air and oil filters were inspected, then reinstalled upside down and backwards and banged on until they fit. A seal was replaced incorrectly during my oil change, which caused all the oil to leak out of my car. The Honda dealership, which did the repair work on my car, documented all of this (except the oil seal) and gave me the damaged filters and the spark plugs which had burned out, likely due to insufficient oil in the engine for a long period. I paid just over $600 because they offered me a deal to bundle the repairs with my 60k tune-up. The price they quoted me to fix the damage alone was around $400. I returned to the Jiffy Lube in Newark and asked to see the manager. I was told the manager wasn't in the office, but the Jiffy Lube employee I spoke to took my contact information and told me the day his manager would be back. I never heard from the manager, so I returned to Jiffy Lube on the day the employee told me his manager would be in the office. The manager, Jay, was a real disappointment. At no point did he deny that his employees had done the documented damage to my car, but he neither offered me an apology, nor an explanation, nor any kind of compensation. Instead, he told me that when my car broke down I should have taken it *back* to Jiffy Lube, rather than a full mechanic shop, so they could diagnose the problem and take it to a repair shop for me. This recommendation seemed extremely dubious to me, and I told him that at the time I had no idea that the damage done to my car was done at Jiffy Lube--my car just broke down. It seems very unreasonable to require a one-time customer to take a car back to Jiffy Lube every time it breaks down in order to keep them eligible for a refund. I asked for a refund, but was told Jay would have to contact *his* manager who, according to Jay, is never in the office and is a "very busy man." I sympathized, and explained that I'm also very busy, given that I was taking time off work to come speak to them. Jay also told me it was very hard to get a refund from corporate, and would probably take a couple of weeks. I said that I didn't care, as long as no one was contesting that Jiffy Lube had done the damage to my car. Jay sounded very surprised that I wanted a *full* refund on the oil change, at which point I reminded him that I had already paid nearly $700 for the work (oil change + repair), and that I felt like it was generous of me not to ask him to cover the cost of the repair work as well. Jay took copies of my documentation and said he had my information on file, and would contact his manager. I wrote down my phone number and name anyway, and told him if I didn't hear back from his manager by the end of the week, I would come back in to speak to him again. Needless to say, I didn't hear from his manager. The entire time I spoke to him, Jay was on the computer, had his back to me, talking over me, or arguing with me. I was quiet, polite, and reasonable throughout the discussion, but I got the strong impression that Jay had no respect for my situation as a customer, much less pride in the quality of his or his employees' work (not to mention concern for me as a fellow human being who could have been injured or killed while driving a damaged car). I left with zero confidence that I would hear from his manager, and generally felt like he was trying to get me out the door and out of his hair as fast as possible. A week went by, and I didn't hear from Jay, his manager, or anyone associated with Jiffy Lube. I finally went back in to talk to him again, and he wasn't there. The employee I spoke to was actually polite, friendly, and helpful--he offered me a free oil change, and offered to do the work himself when I expressed a lack of confidence in the quality of work done. I thanked him, but declined--after this experience, I'll never be visiting that Jiffy Lube again. read more

I've been taking all of my cars there for the last 10 years. This latest service was the WORST. No check around my car. They didn't fill my tires with air. no vaccuming. they didn't check my other fluids. I asked them how my transmission fluid was. The guy stuttered and said it was fine. I had watched him the entire time. none of them ever checked it. I had them look again and guess what?? it was low. This is why they escort you into the waiting room. They don't want you to see what they are doing...or what they are NOT doing. the only thing they do is try to up sell you on wipers and air filters. In most cases you don't need. This particular car is just over a year old. The worst thing was I asked for Synthetic oil. I never saw the type of oil they put in my car. they filled up a big container from the basement and handed it up to the guy to put in my car. Seemed like a scam to substitute regular oil for synthetic. That will be the last time I will go there. horrible experience. BEWARE!!!!! read more

Being the skeptic that I am, I popped the hood and checked- to my surprise they did NOT change the oil. The oil was the SAME dark brown color before I came in. I always come here to get my oil change and never had any issues, up until today. With that being said, this review is solely based on today's visit. They must have got all new staff since my last visit, but let me just say the customer service was HORRIBLE! I came in during my lunch break and they were not busy. As I walk in the tech (Ray) sees me and completely ignores me. No greeting, no "can I help you" NOTHING! So after standing there for a few seconds I told the guy that I needed an oil change, he told me to wait in the lobby. There is one other customer in the lobby.. After about 5 minutes the guy walks in and helps the other customer and walks back out to the shop. Still not a single word to me. Another guy walks in, does something on the computer, looks at me and walks out.. Still not a single word... At this point, I have been sitting there for 15 minutes, with out any help. Mind you I am on my lunch, so I don't have all day. I would expect a greeting, for you to tell me how long it will take, or how long before you can actually help me.. I just ended up walking out, completely pissed and with out an oil change. Never going back to this place again! read more

After expressing concern on how my car was acting he answered all my questions and reassured me that after they serviced my vehicle it would be in tip top shape. Viliami's customer service was exceptional. He offered me some delicious hot Pete's coffee while I waited. The service was fast and effective. The guys are here are pretty awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Oil changes are quick, no pressure sales, these are honest and hard working guys. Overall, great customer service and positive experience every time I bring my vehicle in. They hired a few bad employees, which is likely what the negative reviews are about. The Cedar location I had no problems with. I had to do a little grocery before our road trip to canada so I got my oil change here and walked over to Raleys. I got my oil change and other stuff done. I noticed when I got my van back, there was some new footprints, radio station was changed. WHATEVER NOTHING WAS TAKEN. GET THIS !! 1 STAR There was about 5-6 employees on the day I went in to get my car serviced for an oil change. The gentlemen that took my keys looked like he didn't want to be there. No "hi", "what can I do for you" Not friendly at all. Maybe, I interrupted him from an important text? or disrupted him from paying a game? Not sure, but all I know is, he was quick to get back on his his smart phone. I decided to come to this Jiffy Lube because I had received one of their coupons in the mail. $22.99 for their Jiffy Lube Signature Service Oil Change. But, I ended up paying close to $30. Not sure why. The invoice was not clear. And no, I did not request for synthetic oil or anything out of the norm. Why didn't I bring it up to their attention? Well, after an hour and half of wait, I just wanted out. For the first time ever, from all the times I have gotten my oil change, no one went over the list of things they inspected. I mean sure it's not that big of a deal, but again, just indicator of the type of the customer service they provide, or in this case, lack thereof. When I got home, I noticed my hands were covered with black stains and then realized it was all in the back of my pants as well. No sure if it would have made a difference if I had noticed the dirty stains while I was there. I mean sure, I can file a compliant, but didn't seem like that would've made much of a difference, after reading all the reviews from previous upset customers. My advice is to look at the pictures some of the previous yelpers posted. Unless you want to pay for your car seats to be stained with black grease and/or oil smeared all over your steering wheel, keep on driving.. do not make a stop! read more

When I got my car they had "cleaned" my already clean windows with a grease rag and on my road trip, the engine cover that is screwed on underneath the car magically flew off which cost me $380 to replace. The technician recommended synthetic, and I broke down and settled for blend. They pushed the other stuff, like transmission fluid and the air filter, sh*t I know I can do myself. I ran over a parking divider and the plastic cover on the bottom of my car was broken and hanging off, dragging on the ground when I drove. I had an appointment booked to get it repaired by the dealer, but couldn't drive all the way there due to the dragging. Luckily Jiffy Lube was very close by - I explained the situation and they temporarily secured the plastic cover to my car so I could drive to the dealer. They graciously declined payment even though I insisted - how kind! They even advised me on how to drive slowly and avoid bumps so the temporary fix would stay put. But today i got to say that the faces i saw are all new and the manager now is such a charm(cant remember the name of the guy but he is New Zealand native). I was stranded in the parking lot next to this Jiffy Lube because my car battery had died and was about 2 hours from home when Alan went out on a limb to help. I was honestly at a loss of what to do when I realized I was close to Jiffy Lube and decided to see whether there was anything they could do. I must say that Alan was a lifesaver and is one of the kindest people I've ever met!! I called, and barely explained the situation before he said "I'll be right there" without any further questions. Just as he said, he pulled up a couple minutes later in his car. I later learned he was on his own time (was just about to go on break when I called) and used his break to come and help me because "he knows how hard it is to be stuck". It wasn't the quickest or easiest fix either - the battery required charging for several minutes and we went through multiple iterations before we finally got it. He even got on the phone with my husband at one point to ask some questions about the last time this happened. Then he didn't ask for or expect any payment! Honestly I felt warm the rest of the week after this interaction. It's nice knowing the world has such good people in it!! Thank you Alan! I dropped my car off, they said there would be a wait. Ok 30 minutes. So I go get some lunch. Come back and the car is ready. So how do you rate a oil change place. Its clean. I got my oil change. It took a little longer than I'm used to. It cost a little bit more. But they cleaned my windows and added air. read more

My car was done in 15 minutes, and I checked everything afterwards, and the oil was changed, fluids topped off, interior vacuumed, and my right tire with low air was filled. Left grease marks on the hood and front side panel of my wife's car and mine as well as leaving my steering wheel and gear shifter greasy. When I notified one of the employees he responded with " it's an oil change expect it to be dirty." He also added "if you don't like the service here then go to another branch". The manager had him immediately clean my steering wheel and I had to tell the employee to avoid cleaning my car since he was using an industrial degreaser which would have ruined my car's paint. I had great experience at other jiffy lube stores so I expected the same but I guess I was proven wrong. Went in to have the Signature Oil Change done on my car and was surprised with how great this place was. Great customer service, all the guys were very friendly. I was greeted and assisted as soon as I pulled up. Fresh coffee and a clean waiting area were a bonus. They recommended some ads-on items such as wipers and an air filter, which I couldn't pass up on, it was much cheaper than buying at Autozone or O'Rielys. However they weren't pushy or demanding, I didn't feel pressured to do the other extras they recommended, which was nice. They were extremely helpful and answered all my questions. Great service, great staff and great prices... what's not to love? If I wasn't moving out of state this would be my go to oil stop. Also be sure to check their website on your smartphone, I found a coupon code I was able to use to save about $11 off my service. :) Oh and some of the guys there are pretty easy on the eyes for you single ladies... lol read more

I came in for an oil change and the car got a lube job, literally. Imprint on my drivers seat of a butt and leg. Oil all over the steering wheel, center co sole, hood, and engine bay. Finger prints all over the car and swirls all over the "cleaned" windows were a dead give away of the service the provided. No manager was there to file a complaint. No district manager number provided besides the corporate phone number on the receipt, seriously?! The employees decided to take it upon themselves to "clean" the oil stained seat, AFTER I told them they shouldn't do that. All they did was push the oil deeper into the fabric. I tell them I had my car recently detailed, and the guys basically called me a liar. "If you just detailed it, why is there dirt inside?" Maybe because 1) I use my vehicle, and 2) it was recent, not today! So, needless to say, my ride home consisted of wet pants, from the spray cleaner; oil all over my hands; and Windows I couldn't see out of. I get home, and guess what, my ass is wet and the oil stain is still there. Looks like I was right. Now I have to go back and find a manager tomorrow. First and last time I ever go to this one. First, it took forever, the guy doing the oil change kept messing around. When it was finally ready, about a block down the road my car started smelling like oil and then smoke everywhere. Popped hood and oil everywhere. Such a messy fuckin job. One star is way to many, I called while I was turning on to Jarvis asking if they were busy. Was told no they had zero customers. Three minutes later I pull up. I can't even open my door there's an employee there asking me to write information down, there was no communication on why I was there just asking me to sign a paper and pull my car forward. I walk in. Ali was the guy behind the counter. He was helping a gentleman (older white guy) I stood behind the guy waiting. He gives his speech on wipers and mileage if he wants this or that. Another gentleman comes out of the bathroom and sits down so I figure he's been helped already. Ali gets done with the older guy and looks at me and says "I'll be with you in one minute". He either needs better time management or to learn how to tell time. 15 minutes goes by. He helps the guy that went to the bathroom. Old man goes gets food comes back his car is done. I'm still standing in the same spot. Now a new guy comes in Indian guy. He sits down. About 2 minutes go by so now I'm waiting 17 minutes. And Ali calls the guy who just came in. That's when I got PISSED!!! Ali tries to tell me that this guys been here waiting. That dude drove up in a blue car 4 minutes ago and your trying to tell me he's first. I said ok forget it I'm done. I'll just leave. I can't leave they emptied my oil washed my windows "looks like ray Charles did both. Horrible job ". I didn't even have any conversations with anyone on what I wanted. Why are you emoting my oil without even talking to me first. Now I can't leave because I have no oil in my damn car. Ali comes out. I say I want to talk to the manager. Ali says he's the manager. So I laugh and say no way are you a manager sir. I want your manager. I'm the manager. He again tries to say he didn't see me waiting. I say sir I'm 6'2 200 pounds I'm standing 4 feet in front of you. And your going to tell me the other guy was there first??? It gets better. Ali tells his employee to clock back in from lunch (the guy was working his whole time on lunch. ThTs against the law). I tell Ali I want the same thing I had last time. Didn't offer me wipers didn't offer me a damn thing. He has the other guy ring me up while he walks outside. Hand them a coupon 27.77. I pay with card. It says accepted then the guy says it didn't go through. So I pay again. Sure enough my bank charges me twice. Yes they refunded one of them but still. So I leave. I get home. And about 30 minutes later I leave. The damn check oil light comes on. They didn't even fully complete the damn job. So I call and talk to Ali and he now tells me to come tomorrow. Where I can talk to his manager 45 minutes ago he was the manager there's no one else to talk to but now he's not a manager he's a key holder. He again says I didn't see you and it comes first come first serve. To say this Ali guy is an idiot is an understatement. I'll be in tomorrow hoping to get my $27.77 back. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place. Now I called cedar jiffy and talked to an employee there he seemed very knowledgeable. Take your business there. Edit *The next day: So today I call and talk to "V" he goes on and on how his team slacks off when he's not there and that's why he doesn't usually take a day off. He tells me he's going to take care of the situation but he has to call his boss. He says he'll call me by lunch (this was at 8am). I informed him I work at 11:30 he says he'll call me at 11. It's now 2:20 no phone call. I also called Cesar since I read his response on another feed i figure I would go higher up. He listened and apologized he said he would send me a check. He would call me once he got in a safe place so he could get my information still waiting this was 4 hours ago as well. Recap Ali says one minute takes well over 15. "V" says by 11 still haven't heard from him Cesar says when he gets to a safe place. Haven't heard from him either. read more
