Went to the Woodbury Ave, portsmouth location for an oil change. Manager came out and said "got a physical card?", I said "no we have a​ fleet account, you have our card on file!". He went on to say that he's had problems with us before and because of identity fraud, we need a card, so I told the office, they suggested the Seabrook jiffy lube, I went there, got an oil change, told him of the portsmouth fiasco, and he said "come back here anytime!" Long story short, I suggested Valvolene instead, probably nicer service! Either way. I will never take my personal cars to the portsmouth location again and will convey the same to friends and family. read more

As I pulled in for the fifth time this week to try and get an inspection, with the inspector leaving early the other 4 times, I pulled in 5 min before their opening time to an attendant telling me it will be 3 hours. I said hey I was told to come back at 8am sharp today, he scoffed and said you have to get here sooner than that. After then stating "well this is my fifth time trying" he literally said "well looks like its going to six now" No. it actually wont be 6. I've never had anything but great service from this location! I showed up one day with my Jeep and was told even though it had been 3 months, I still had another couple hundred miles before it needed to be changed. Today I brought a van (my daughter was buying from an elderly neighbor) in for an oil change. The seller wanted to pay for this oil change which was due in 200 miles. Anyway, when I brought it back to the seller, she pointed out grease/oil on the drivers side carpet. I was wearing smooth bottom boat shoes which were clean. It was obvious that the mechanic caused this. While jiffy lube took care to protect the fenders, they did not use disposable floor mats. read more

I needed a fast oil change in my car. I have a luxury car. They tell me because of the model of my car it has to be synthetic oil. Which would what I put it anyways. But starting at $95 . Then it adds from there for how much oil is added. WTF. I can go to promptu for $45 for full synthetic oil. Well I needed it bad. So I gave in to the deal. If that's what you call it. Next time I go somewhere else. Besides I thought they gave other stuff with it. Like tire check and stuff like that. That's what it says on your website. But nope none of that. read more

Went for an oil change. While they were super fast, which was great because I was in a time crunch, they told me about 5 different things I should replace. One was a filter. It has some paper and lint in it. After saying no thanks they literally put the filter right back in paper and all. And in fact, held some down so it wouldn't fly away. I was surprised they couldn't at least take the paper out. For $60 for an oil change that would seem courteous. The people were very nice, so I can't knock that. And it was done in a jiffy. But I'll be going back to my mechanic who charges $30 for synthetic. I'll just have to remember to book him next time read more

Caution, Caution, Caution, On 6 Mar. 2019 I had and Oil and Filter change for my 2018 vehicle at Jiffy Lube at 1817 Woodbury Ave. in Portsmouth, NH. On 7 Mar. 2019 my engine failed; I checked the oil and smoke came out of the dipstick tube and there was no oil showing on the dipstick. As the vehicle was not in a safe area - the police expedited a tow. I had it towed to the KIA dealership. The dealership took this picture and their damage assessment reads in part: "During the inspection of the oil leak we found the drain plug not fully installed in the oil pan causing a massive loss of oil. Photos were taken. The engine suffered lower end damage do to lack of oil and low oil pressure. Engine replacement is needed." I have been attempting to work with the local Jiffy lube - they are polite but not expediting the process. I attempted to talk to the District Manager who declined to talk to me. I contacted corporate last week and still haven't heard back from them. I believe Jiffy Lube is at fault and they have not yet admitted responsibility or authorized the work. read more

I recently purchased a used car and had been meaning to change the oil since maintenance records from the prior owner weren't 100% available. I decided to go out on a limb and try Jiffy Lube in Portsmouth since I had the time after work. I was shocked. The servicers were noticeably careless with their own tools and interactions with my car. For example, after one servicer finished vacuuming my floors he threw the hose down carelessly on the shop floor. If he treats his own equipment like that, how does he treat his customers' cars? Also, the servicers did not wipe up splashed fluids and over tightened nearly every piece of hardware they encountered during the oil change. Manufacturers have specs of torque applied to an oil filter cap, for example, and my servicer completely did not use any caution with the wrench. The servicers misread my odometer suggesting that I need to change my oil again at 131,000 miles which is nearly 20,000 miles ago. Services scratched my paint as they passed by with dangling tools. Carelessness of this level is frankly unacceptable. I wish I had taken the time to do the job myself, but I thought I would give this big name a shot. Never again. I wondered how people could sit in the waiting room and contently watch the servicers do the jobs the way they do. TL:DR; If you like your car, be aware of bringing it here. read more

This place deserves zero stars. I called yesterday and asked when I can come in for a car inspection and was told on the phone that I can come as late as 6:45 pm and no need for an appointment. I drive 25 minutes to get there to be told that inspections stop at 4 pm. I told them I just called and I was told I can come in. There were three guys at the place and they all were shaking their heads saying that was not them answering the phone. They did not even apologize or show any sympathy which was ridiculous. Then they say "maybe the new kid Jason answered you he probably doesn't know" while one of them is having the biggest smirk on his face as if this is funny. I left and drove back 25 minutes. I happen to have some problem with my car while i was visiting the "The Kittery Outlets" in ME. I figure I have to go somewhere to have my car checked up and do oil change at the same time (since its due anyway :)). It was nice to meet Derek and other technicians, he was professional, gentle and not trying to rip off me by showing me the details, and recommendations what he would do in the future. At the end, my car was properly fixed and was not asked to pay anything in extra other than the oil change service i have done. This is not a typical Liffy Lube I have been to before. I really enjoyed the experience today (Aug, 29th, 2015) and I would recommend anyone this store if its within the commutable distance :) read more

Here is something different for ya: a good review about the time I failed inspection. I recently purchased an used Volkswagen Jetta. I took it to get inspected at this Jiffy Lube location, because I didn't have to make an appointment and it is next door to a Starbucks. Call me a stereotypical millennial, but after a car inspection (which I usually find stressful) I need a bucket of coffee with at least 10 packets of sugar to get me back to baseline. This inspection in particular I expected to be stressful since the ABS light was on and that alone fails you off the bat. However, I wanted to get any other gruesome details out of the way so I could get them fixed. I took the car in and dropped the off. The guy who took my informationwas very respectful and attentively listened to the Tale of the ABS Light as told by Me for a good fifteen minutes before I gave him my registration and keys and went on my way to the waiting area. First thing I noticed was the waiting area and restroom were clean, something I appreciate from a business that by definition performs dirty work. The TV was set to a news station that was neither FOX nor CNN, and a pot of your standard free-be coffee in the corner. There were a few people ahead of me, but everyone was seen rather quickly and then it was my turn. The guy who inspected my car was well versed in VW and was able to show me around the entirety of it. He explained in detail why it didn't pass inspection, showed me the parts that didn't pass, plus a few other things that might become problems in the future and explained why. There is nothing I love more than a good explanation as to WHY. He was friendly, respectful, and allowed me to bounce a few ideas off of him. He wrote up a detailed report about everything we discussed, and only charged me the cost of state inspection as I was quoted over the phone. Nothing extra and no attempts to sneak in hidden costs. He reminded me that they do free re-inspections with-in thirty days and to bring the car back back when I had sorted it all out. I certainly will be coming back, and hopefully I'll be able to write a good review about the time I passed inspection too. read more

I made the mistake of going to JL early on a Saturday to get my oil changed. It immediately struck me that no one was wearing masks, and there was no social distancing. I asked to get the complete service but was told they can't vacuum due to COVID. They next brought me my almost new air filter and wanted to change it. The car is 5 months old. The manager, Dave, then told me to put in the oil I need, 10W-30 would cost me an extra $100, $20/quart. I thought he was joking but when I said "no way" was told this was my only option. I made a remark that I could run across the street and buy 5 quarts for around $25 and was told this was impossible. It was at this point I tried to change to 10W-40 only to be told that they had none at the store and could not do my oil change. I can state emphatically, that going to the JL in Biddeford, and having to deal with the manager, Dave, was a huge mistake and could have been a disaster if Prompto wasn't so close, to fix this fiasco. I recommend that NO ONE use JL in the future as the culture revolves around conning customers. They allow managers, like Dave in Biddeford, to deny any customer service who objects to this mistreatment. In contrast, once at Prompto, I had a phenomenal experience where they charged me less because I used 10W-30. Prompto also had good safety procedures in place for COVID and were very professional. JL has lost not just my business, but that of my family, and friends, and in a small town, word gets around. Why would anyone subject themselves to that kind of treatment when they can go to Prompto? read more

Went in for an inspection sticker, waited nearly 2 hours, finally they tell me my car needed new wipers, they were torn & it would be over $80 for the blades. When I asked to take my car and go elsewhere they said that would be fine but they would fail my inspection. I had a bunch of other errands to run so I just paid for the new wipers and inspection... total came to nearly $200 which seems outrageous. Normally I go to Pep Boys but they were booked solid. Will never go back here, I'll wait for Pep Boys. read more

Had been going here with 3 of my vehicles for all my oil changes, never again. Got an oil change well I thought I had , i sure did pay for one. But when the suv started running a little odd took it to my mechanic, with in minutes he had said there was no way that the oil had been changed and that the oil filter was way passed it's use. Took my car there for an inspection. The car JUST passed inspection 2 months ago and only needed it again because we moved. They failed it because they said the headlights were the 'wrong color' and the college logo sticker was 'illegal'. Absolutely bogus ridiculous claims. They are just trying to get your money. We JUST replaced those headlights a little while ago and researched to make sure they were the right color and they just passed at the last inspection. Also that sticker has been on that car for SIX YEARS and ALWAYS passed and does not in any way shape or form block your view through the back windshield especially since it is so old and faded now that it is see-through. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR INSPECTED HERE!!!!! Total waste of time and money!! read more

Terrible service, terrible attitude. I brought my BRAND NEW car there for it's FIRST oil change and they spilled oil all over the side of the engine. When i asked about it, they said it was "minor" and "just a few drops". Well, after smelling and seeing smoke coming from under my hood, I took a look. There were literally pools of oil in little nooks all over the side of the engine, as far as ten inches away from the filler opening. The spill was WAY more than a "few drops". I called the shop, told them what I found and that i was unhappy with the service... Yeah.. the tech hung up on me. Let me repeat, he HUNG UP THE PHONE. This is a public-facing employee...!!? My BRAND NEW car stinks of oil. It was the first service of any type (less than 4k on engine). (Not too mention, it was obvious one of the shop techs was having a bad day. As i got into my car to leave, I heard "I should just shoot myself in the f****** head." I'm a customer, and I hear that? What if my kids where with me?) Terrible.. terrible service. My car was driven in, the oil was drained and THEN I was told my 2012 Honda CRV with 50,000 miles needed special oil that would cost $20 more than the advertised price. My oil is in their basement and they were not going to stop the B S line of special oil. Why is this the first time I have been up charged for special oil. I just got an oil change at Jiffy Lube, and the mechanic showed me a very dirty air filter. He told me he could put in a new one for $50, and I accepted impulsively. Shortly after, I was told my father could put one in the car for free at home, so I told the mechanic to never mind about the new filter and just to leave out the old one without replacement. He gave me attitude about the ordeal, but I thought he left it out anyway. When I got into my car, the air was on full blast and there was filth all over my seats. I keep my car very clean, and so I knew this dirt was from the old filter. As soon as I got home, I investigated, only to find the old filter, not even shaken out, where it was prior to my visiting Jiffy Lube. Went for an inspection and an oil change to get both done at once. They were fast and efficient. The tech explained the condition under my hood and made suggestions, but didn't p ressure me to buy anything. They also vacuumed my car mats and filled my washer fluid and told me with winter coming they do fluid replacement and I can just stop in anytime and get my washer fluid filled and not have to spend any money! Nice! To the person with the wrong headlights and college sticker - they are different inspection rules for every state in the nation. Passing is one state and failing in another is extremely common. I know this from living in multiple states. Half the cars on the road in Florida would never pass in NH. Relax and don't accuse people of stealing your money. They have to reinspect for FREE - making more work for themselves, so why would they fail you on purpose? They wouldn't. read more

They will damage your car to make a few bucks. I went in for a simple oil change, they recommend new license plate bulbs as mine were burned out. Of course, no problem. I got pulled over a couple weeks later for my license plate lights being out. Apparently, they didn't have the correct size in-stock and squeezed in bulbs that were three times too big which, before burning out after a couple weeks, completely melted the housing for the bulbs. This place is the reason we are always asking for a mechanic we can trust. They care more about making a few dollars than getting repeat business. Bad shop. read more

Went to Jiffy Lube in Portsmouth NH for an inspection and oil change. I was so disappointed with the poor service and unprofessionalism I received. First I received an expired inspection sticker that I did not realize was incorrect until I was driving away, so I had to turn around and go back. Instead of helping me right away I had to wait an hour for it to be changed. Once they changed the sticker it looked awful they left glue on the windshield and the sticker was not legible due to it being half scraped off. When I asked to speak to the manager he was "too busy" but they agreed to replace the sticker and clean it up a bit. This should have been done in the first place and they should have been apologetic for their mistake. I would never go back or recommend this service. read more

I went to this Jiffy Lube location 2 weeks ago and had a horrible experience. To make it worse I sent a complaint to jiffy lube the day the service happened, waited a week for a response. After a week went by with no response I sent another complaint. As of right now it has been 6 days from my second complaint, with no response. I went in to get an oil change and tire rotation. After the service was completed I paid the bill and then went back to work (about .5 miles from this location) When I got back to work I got out of my car and just did a quick walk around, just to make sure I don't see anything out of the ordinary. To my surprise I found that not only was I missing a lug nut on my front driver side tire, but the stud that the lug nut screws on to was actually broken in half. After realizing this I called jiffy lube right away to find out why this happened and why I was not informed that they damaged my car, making it UNSAFE TO DRIVE. The assistant manager told me that the stud broke when they tried to take my tire off. He assured me that it was not their fault though, whoever put it on last was to blame (so I'm told). He also said when it happened he was unsure how to handle the situation so he called his supervisor. His supervisor just told him to put my tires back on, finish the oil change and to send me on my way. This is wrong on many levels. It's clear Jiffy lube was hoping that I would notice right away so they could just deny responsibility. This is shady, decpetive, and a horrible way to conduct business. Had I not taken a quick look around my car, who knows how long I would have been driving my car on the highway at 70mph before I noticed I'm missing a lug nut. I drive my child around in my car and Jiffy lube not only put me and my child's life in danger but everyone else that could have been affected by me crashing because my tire fell off going 70 mph. I just wonder how many people are driving around with unsafe vehicles because jiffy lube broke something and just didn't say anything. It is very clear Jiffy lube does not care about the safety of their customers. I would not recommend their services to anyone would values their life. It is not worth saving a couple bucks, just so you can worry about your vehicles safety after a jiffy lube service. Due to Jiffy lubes neglegence, deception, and unproffesionalism I will never bring my vehicle back to jiffy lube again. read more

Best quick oil change experience ever. I am from out of town and wanted oil change and basic fluid levels and tire pressure checked before driving for 10 hours to home. Justin was professional and pleasant. Reviewed all options for oil change and other manufacturers recommended services without any pressure or hard sale. Topped fluids and air to tires as needed. They even vacuumed my front and back rugs--extra thank you for that. Applied all eligible coupons/discounts to make my visit more affordable.
