This vehicle can use conventional oil
    Howard M.

Swindled and taken advantage of would be the feeling most patrons of this Jiffy Lube would have if they had some sort of knowledge about automobile repairs. Beware, the service menu here has tremendous depth and breadth and their team will unleash all the available options at you. In fact, they work quite hard at trying to be persuasive. I will site three specific examples about my issues with this particular Jiffy Lube location. Once you read what I have to say, you will definitely take a defensive position on your next service visit. 1. They tried to upsell me from conventional oil to synthetic oil options. While I understand the value in synthetic motor oil, and I know synthetic motor oil is a superior product, it's not something that I choose to do in this particular vehicle. The real issue here is the lie that was told to me. The Service writer/salesman went so far as to tell me that using conventional motor oil would void my manufacturers warranty on the vehicle. Not true! After leaving Jiffy Lube, I immediately looked in my owners manual and confirmed the fact that conventional motor oil is OK in my vehicle. 2. They recommended I purchase an engine oil system flush. The reality is, Engine oil system flushed are definitely not recommended by the manufacturer and they could cause engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty. That warning came directly from my vehicle's owners manual. It is my understanding that engine oil flushes are likely to cause more problems than they solve. If you change your oil every 5000 miles your engine should be well protected. The salesman never looked at my engine oil when he made the recommendation for an engine oil flush. 3. The salesman told me that my coolant level in the reservoir was completely empty. He would fill up the coolant for $8.95. Knowing how to check my cars engine coolant level, I declined his offer. Later in the evening I checked my radiator and coolant reservoir, both were completely full. Another crystal clear example of a situation where they were trying to take advantage of a customer. I feel bad for customers coming here and being sold car maintenance they don't need - including every kind of flush. Don't be tricked into overspending at this less-than-honest Jiffy Lube location. They seem to be in the business of selling you services your car does not really need. Safe travels!

Oil spot in our driveway following visit to Jiffy Lube
    Barb I.

Three weeks ago I went to Jiffy Lube in Sandy, Utah, to have an oil change. After waiting 65 minutes, I got an oil change only to discover the next day that there was a large oil spot in our driveway where that car is usually parked. There has never been an oil spot there before. I called and was told by the manager to return for an inspection and that he would also send someone to our house to clean the oil spot. I thought that this was a lovely gesture. I returned to Jiffy Lube the next morning and they fixed the problem enough so now it just leaks a bit. However, after two phone calls to Jiffy Lube and both times getting assurances that someone would be coming to clean the oil spot, no one has shown up. It was just a hollow offer. Now we need to hire someone to remove the spot since I have limited mobility, my husband is very ill, and our son is deployed. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. Response to owner: No thank you. Jiffy Lube had three weeks to resolve this situation. Now that your poor service has been made made public you want to help resolve the issue. A wonderful neighbor man saw the large oil spot and offered to clean it for us. We no longer need any services from Jiffy Lube.

Thats 30 minutes of vacuuming? Stealing from my glovebox instead.

They finished my full service oil change in about 5-10 mins and even applied a discount.

My mechanic was skilled and quick, it only took him just a few minutes to change everything out and I was set to go. Price was fair and I'm happy with the service and the techs they sent who were courteous and friendly. I've added them as a contact for future repairs, so I'm recommending them here for anyone else that needs auto servicing.

All the eletrical in our car went out we assumed we needed a battery which is something we change out every few years because Vegas summers are brutal. We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. Thank you for the best auto repair service we have hands down ever had!

Car passed and after I paid, the worker informed me that I came in to early and that it would need to be done again before I could renew my registration. He said the emissions test only lasted one month and that I couldn't renew my registration more than a month in advance. First off, I would have appreciated hearing that before the work was done and paying. Second, both of the things he said weren't true. On the emissions paperwork it said it lasted for 60 days and after a google search and going to the registration website I was able to register my car 60 days before it expired. Went in again to get my oil topped off. I have an older car the leaks / burns oil. One thing that jiffy lube does that I really appreciate is they'll top off your oil between changes. For an older car like mine, I feel like this is really helpful! Anyways, went in and it had been too long and I was extremely low on oil. Just asked for it to get topped off since I'm less than 1000 miles from a oil change but one of the workers tried to get the guy helping me to not top it off (said it was over the 3000 mile limit or it had been to many months since the last change). He tried to get me to do an oil change (which it needs) but I didn't have time so said I would do that later. After some back and forth between the employees, the one helping me decided just to top it off which I appreciate and told me to just get the oil change asap. I have been going to jiffy lubes for years and have been going back because of great service and the great work that they've done. I will choose to go to a different location in the future from the recent experiences I've had here.

They are very honest and I didnt feel like I was going to get scammed. I was a little nervous walking up to a used car dealership. But everything went great. I even threw the invoice into chatgpt to make sure the pricing was well. The other amazing thing was, I bought front break pads from the Mercedes dealership and I asked them if they could use those and change them since I couldnt return it back. They said yes! This is unheard of. Most service companies make money off of parts. But these guys were great. The dealership was clean and everyone was nice. I do most of the work myself because I want to avoid people scamming me. I have already told 4 people about this and plan on posting about it on instagram to let everyone know. Companies need to know if you dont scam people and work with them they will get more business. But companies are trying to get as much from customoers. Thank you KC you were the best! This was right after I heard their torque wrench audibly destroy the bolts. They admitted that they had indeed stripped out the bolts trying to remove them. To make it worse they told me that while they wouldn't charge for the oil filter they would still charge me for the oil. I explained that it makes no sense to pay for the oil if I have to go right back somewhere else and have it drained again in order to replace the filter. After arguing they went back down and worked on the bolts and were able to finally get them off and replace the filter. But now the bolts were stripped and they couldn't put the skid plate back on safely! They claim to have called around looking for new bolts but couldn't find any. They did their best to re-attach the skid plate with just a few partially stripped bolts. So now I have to go have the skid plate removed again and reattached with new bolts. And they charged me full price for everything even though they stripped my bolts. What should have been an easy oil change has note resulted in a big headache for me. Avoid this place!

That said, having just made the first of many credit card payments for work I never would have had done given the full scope of what my vehicle needed, I feel compelled to prevent this from happening to anyone else. While the actual work done here seems fairly competent, the diagnostic process seems about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded. I brought my car in because it was creaking misfiring, and the check engine light was on. I told them that I believed my engine mounts were worn out and that I also needed a diagnoses for the misfiring. They told me that the cause for the misfiring was likely that my spark plugs and ignition coils were worn out, because that usually happens around 100k miles and my vehicle was past that. I agreed to have them replaced along with new engine mounts, to the tune of $2,600. I was told that after this my vehicle would be like a totally different car. The very next day, my car misfired again and the check engine light came back on. When I brought it back, they informed me that they don't have any way of knowing this fo sure, but I probably actually had a blown head gasket. I brought my car to a different mechanic shop who did a full and complete diagnostic from bumper to bumper and took photos of everything wrong with the car- from a blown head gasket to a leaking transmission to almost completely worn wheel bushings and a host of other problems totaling over $8,200 in addition to the $2,600 I had already paid at Red Rock Auto. Had I known this in the first place, I never would have paid $2,600 on a doomed old van that needed almost $11,000 in work done. I had to buy a new van and that $2,600 would have really helped with the down payment. I'm tempted to say that I feel duped, but I don't think there was any malice or fraud going on- just general laziness or incompetence in the diagnostic process that very negatively affected me.
