I was here for Jay S's experience/toddler tantrum. I arrived at the shop about 8 hours before he did and was checking in to see how progress was going, we'd been waiting on a part for my car. They had 2 employees, one of which was a trainee not allowed to do certain parts of the services. The other was trying to get my car out of the garage while Jay and another patient man waited for help. These 2 probably hadn't had a break or even anything to eat all day. Jay climbed out of his truck and started yelling about how he had a kid in the car and how long he'd been waiting. He didn't want to hear them as the trainee couldn't do the drain and had to wait for the guy helping me. He just wanted to yell and leave. The other guy waiting and the people in line were all cool while it was explained to them that they would like to help but it was going to take some time. Jay's experience as he even states was not typical of the service he or I have experienced here. These guys are trying. Let's remember everyone is understaffed still and be good neighbors. These guys have been taking care of my 16 year old car for over a year now. You know these old fussy cars have the strangest problems. Every time I've come in they have been helpful and explained everything to me as they did it. They've never tried to up sell me or get me to do something that I wasn't there for. When I needed my brakes done they were the cheapest/fastest and I've had no problems. At this point they've done several of my oil changes/top offs, my brakes, helped with weird battery issues I was having and talked to me about what sort of maintenance would help my car last longer and continue being efficient. I'm a 3rd generation car dealer, I've worked with a lot of mechanics in my time. This location has a great team. read more

My wife took our car, they began work only to tell her that when they tried to loosen the oil pan bolt, it got "tighter" they then sent her away and said they can do no more. Horrible job. Left me in a very precarious situation as I'm over seas and was helpless in this situation. The "supervisor" "Jenna" then gave my wife a card with a email that did not work. The overall experience warrants 2 stars. This is due to being told that they couldn't change the automatic transmission fluid, then five minutes later being told that they could. The gal who was helping me told me she was "out of it" from being there since 5 am and also that the guys like to give her a hard time, and they were "just joking around" when they said they couldn't do that service. When it comes to my car and my safety, I don't want to deal with unprofessionals who don't take their jobs seriously. I told them at the beginning and also when I was paying that I had a coupon for 15% any service beyond an oil change. I was talked over, but I made sure that the discount was taken off the total. Also, I paid for full service which includes window washing, vacuuming, etc. They didn't do a good job on these things. The TV in the waiting room has issues. It was constantly losing signal. This is by far the absolute worst automotive experience I've had in my entire life. On 11/27, I was in a pinch and needed an oil change so I stopped at this location for service (mistake #1). There is no clear process or order for you to get in the queue, you simply drive up and wait and hope that they don't come up and deny service because it's "too busy." After parking my car in the incorrect spot and sitting inside what appeared to be the service desk/waiting area for 20 minutes, I noticed that other vehicles were lining up and I still had not been greeted by a member of the staff. I poked my head out the door asking for instructions only to be given a very unpleasant look that very much translated to "I hate my job and I don't want want you here." I finally get my oil change, then the service workers inform me that there's about 3-4 other issues with the car and say they can fix it. After such poor initial service and disgusted looks from hell? HA. How funny. I pay for my oil change and drive away, thankful that this dreadful experience is over and I can move on with my day. But not so fast. Not even 10 minutes after I left the service lot, I get a warning message on my car that it's overheating. "Well, how peculiar," I thought to myself, knowing that something wasn't right with this oil change. It only happened once at that time, and my car said if it happened again, to contact the nearest service center. I drove the car home and it was fine. Days go by, and the same issue continues happening. I then try to go back to the same place of service to get this situation rectified, considering everything was fine with the vehicle until these service "providers" got ahold of it. What a surprise, that when I again try to get in life for service, I'm turned away and told that the mechanic isn't available on weekends, and only available M-F. I then asked if appointments were available, considering I need this issue to be resolved and need a mechanic to look at it. I am told that there are no appointments available, that it is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and that they have no estimate for when the mechanic will be available - it's just a wait and see game. So, you're telling me, after you touched my car and it's overheating, I have to essentially play a game or chicken and wait god knows how long for god knows who to be available to look at something that was broken? Very interesting. I drive back home and the overheating issue still persists. I wait a few days and finally take it back for service (during a weekday, when the mechanic is supposed to be available). Again, I sit in the small unorganized and rugged parking lot, waiting for answers about my vehicle. A service advisors comes up and I explain the situation simply - I came on 11/27 and got an oil change. A few minutes later, my car starts overheating. You're the only service "provider" who had touched the vehicle. What is wrong and what can we do to resolve this? The service staff then go back and forth with me trying to say that there's nothing that they can do, it's outside of their scope. I'm insistent that it gets looked at, considering everything with the vehicle was fine UP UNTIL their service "provider" got their hands on it. This was a back and forth for about 2 total hours. The staff were not helpful at all and were not thrilled to see me again, evident from their facial expressions and muffled remarks about the color of my car and status. There's 20-25 minute increments that go by where I'm just sitting in the vehicle, listening to the service "providers" chatting about anime and items while I'm staring at them in the face trying to get an update on the status of my vehicle/what I need to do next. Several people go under the vehicle and begin touching it, moving things around and causing all sorts of commotion. More time goes by and there's still no update available for me, I have no idea what they're doing to the vehicle, I hear things moving, talk of them not screwing things on correctly the first time and maintenance items that were missed during the initial oil change service. Finally, I'm presented an estimate for ~$900 and these service "providers" are then telling me they can "fix" all of the issues. I laughed and proceed to leave expeditiously. read more

The team at the West Seattle Jiffy Lube is very kind and enthusiastic, wait time to revive service was acceptable. I will continue to use this shop but need to mention three issues not favorable from my visit... The 1st is the amount of old oil dripped and left on the car's paint and within the engine compartment, I needed to clean it when I got home. The 2nd issue was noted on my invoice, the tire pressure. I did not see anyone check it and when I got home checked myself, results no where close to values on my invoice ?? The 3rd issue was cost of the Engine air Filter, $55. I quoted Auto Zone, O'Reillys Auto and Amazon... $20 $25, and $11. I called Jiffy Lube and asked about the cost... I was instructed to do my due diligence and go online before I come in to look for coupons for discount costs. As noted, I will continue to use Jiffy Lube but be more aware of the service while being performed. read more

BEST experience having maintenance done on my car! I was really dreading getting an oil change, but it immediately turned into a positive experience when Ulysses greeted me as I pulled up to Jiffy Lube. He was so friendly and helpful right off the bat. All of his crew members were also very friendly and they worked extremely well together as a team. I could tell they enjoyed their job. Ulysses really saved the day for me as my radiator had damage and leaked coolant. I made my way to the parking lot with a smoking engine. He assessed my situation right away and told me the radiator was damaged and leaking. He filled up the coolant and told me to not take the highway and he called around for a replacement radiator. He was super honest with me about parts/labor and encouraged me to go to the dealership. Thankfully I was able to get the only replacement radiator in the state, SAME DAY from the dealership. Other replacements were on back order and in other states. I'm so glad I got help from Ulysses, he really helped me get out of a really sour situation. TO ANYONE THAT LIVES IN WEST SEATTLE. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE OR ANY OF YOUR LOVED ONES VEHICLES TO THIS LOCATION. I'll keep this brief. I brought a late model BMW into this location to have a simple oil change done. I asked "them" if they knew how to change the oil on a BMW. They responded "yes". After my "Check in" they realized that they didn't carry the oil filter for my car. At that point I should have just taken the car to my regular mechanic ‍. They said if I went to the auto parts store and bought the filter and brought it back..... that they could do it. Again, that should have been a warning sign. I went and retrieved the old filter at the auto parts store nearby. After the oil change was complete and I got part of the way home my oil light kept flashing. I pulled over in downtown Seattle and popped the hood. Just as I suspected. The manager, who I was told by another employee had installed the oil filter installed it incorrectly. Oil was gushing out the top of the filter. He (The manager) also stripped the bolt that holds the oil filter housing on. This was also verified today by my regular mechanic. He said "Wow, they completely screwed this up". He installed a brand new oil filter, And bolt, drained the oil and redid my oil change for me NO CHARGE.... That's REAL customer service . When I called and talked to the Manager who said his name was J Bean, he was completely defensive and refused to rectify the situation. Not even offering a refund ‍. I spoke to my attorney and instructed him to contact and file suit against this business. Which I fully intend to follow up on. To the owner of this business....Do yourself a favor and fire your manager and hire competent employees to run your business. Then again how on earth could you hire a Manager like this??? How embarrassing this must be for you. My mechanic as well as numerous other people that live in west Seattle have all said the same things that I had to find out the hard way. Your employees are incompetent. Period. They refuse to patronize your establishment due to the fact that over and over and over they make mistakes and are just plain incompetent. Period. Where on earth did you find your manager??????? Aye. Chelsea hooked it up today and I'm beyond grateful. I had asked my GF to go buy a few quarts of oil to put in my car while I was at work and she ended up putting in 6! Needless to say thick white fumes were coming from my exhaust and my car was shaking pretty bad. I brought it here just to have them drain the excess oil and possible change out damaged spark plugs and what not, thinking my ticket would be around $150 but Chelsea had her team take care of everything on the house. Went to get an oil change but they forgot to put new oil in. Seems like a significant part of their job they didn't do. Now I have a car with a blown engine. Jiffy Lube has sort of said they will pay for the new engine but it has been over 3 months of them stonewalling me and the mechanic. They won't even give anyone the contact information for the people who can actually make the payment. This is some of the worst upper management I have ever dealt with. They should be doing everything they can to make this right instead of dragging their feet. Do not trust this place. read more

Used to frequent this Jiffy Lube for oil changes. Now that I live closer and have seen how some of their employees conduct themselves I taken my business elsewhere. Living on the same street as this place has become a headache. They leave their dogs tied up in back which allows neighbors to hear barking ALL day long. When the pups aren't barking our ears are greeted with the joyous sounds of old school blaring from their cars while parked side of the establishment. I have attempted to contact the branch manager to address these issues and am met with a run around or hung up on. Based on the unprofessionalism witnessed on a daily basis I can't imagine their disrespect for their job is put on the back burner while tending to your vehicle. I have since taken my business to Courtesy Tires on California, I highly recommend them! 8/26/15: I was contacted by the District Manager regarding the issues mentioned shortly after posting my review. I have already noticed a difference in regards to the noise which I am very grateful for. I have been going to this location for years but after my experience today I don't think I'll be back and will go to the another Jiffy Lube location in Burien even though I live 2 minutes from the WS location. Not sure what was going on today but the employees spent more time standing around talking or complaining to each other about something. Absolutely no customer service. In fact they nevwr asked me a single question the entire time I was there. I was litterally in the bay listening to this banter for 45 minutes while I thought they were draining the oil from my car. I finally got out of my car to ask what was going and if they have finished draining the oil. After sitting there for 45 minutes watching them stand around semi bouncing around between 3 different cars I got out of my car and asked what was going on. It was at this point I was finally told that there was something wrong with tge suction machine. Ya think they could have told me this from the get go, but they just left the hose in my car for 45 minutes didn't say a word. At this point I just asked them to replace my dipstick and close the hood so I leave because I didn't have time for them to "get to my oil change" at there leisure. This is supposed to Jilly Lube, drive in/drive out in 10-15 minutes not sit there and listen to people complain and not do anything. I do have concerns about the person who was in the bay next to me. I saw them remove the oil filter but never saw them install a new one as they were so busy complaining to each other no one was paying attention to make sure they go thru all the safety protocols before someone leaves. Normally there is a guy under the car and someone looking under tge hood to verify all work was done and no leaks. That did not hapoen. They closed his hood and he drove off. Very scary, that person could have driven off with oil leaking out their car and end up with engine damage, all because there was no one actually paying attention to do their job and just for lack of better term bitching about someone or something thing. read more

Do NOT let these mechanics touch your car! They damaged the filter mount during the change causing the motor to drop all its oil. We had them come out and check it and said they will not stand by their warranty. We have brought our cars to them for lube and filters for over 20 years. I hate when the oil change light comes on. On an older car I'll ignore it as long as humanly possible; it's just another annoying chore. But my Fiat is a new car under warranty and I didn't want to dally. I'm not sure how similiar all the locations are but they've changed from the last time I went to one years ago. An entire team of friendly mechanics descended on me while I was driving in. As I was getting out of the car they were already prepping it like an episode of ER or something. As we were checking in the car they noted that they didn't have the oil filter for this model but they offered to leave it there and let me go to the nearby auto parts store. If this hadn't been a Sunday they would have ordered the part. The whole process took maybe 30 minutes and they were really nice. The other thing I noticed was that some of their rivals try to do an upsell on everything and they didn't. In fact, they topped of my wiper fluid and vacuumed free of charge. For some reason I always go to this place to get an oil change, I'm not sure why because I never really get good service, maybe it gives me a reason to get teriyaki near by because I usually do.. Now I can say I will always go here because I received really good service. Usually I am two cars behind in line and the guy says it will be a little bit of wait over the important conversation he's having with other co-workers, so I would go walk to the nearest store and hang for a little. This time I went in and was next in line and the lot attendant seemed a little spacey but nice. I only sat down for a little bit before they called my name to go over what oil I wanted and so forth, This time the employee was really nice and didn't stress me out telling me I needed this and that and make me feel like I'm not taking care of my car. Also it was nice to not have the windshield repair man there pointing out little nicks and try to stick a pen in them and now I have black ink specs on my windshield, not cool... I decided to stay this time and was surprised at the nice chairs and heater to keep warm but I didn't try the coffee. They finished the oil change pretty fast which was nice, it didn't take long enough for me even to think it was taking to long, I wouldn't of made it to the store in time like I usually would of done in the past also. The man that called me out when it was done was very nice I think his name was Sedrick. He made me laugh and then he wanted to check if my car was vacuumed and the windows cleaned, I was like what? Every time I went before it seemed to never happen so I was surprised and then a little bit embarrassed for not cleaning up my car a little bit but the guy that vacuumed did an awesome job and even put the stuff that he thought was important up on my passenger seat, it wasn't though but it could of been.
