Mad props to Ben at Jiffy Lube in West Seattle. I pulled in to ask if there was any connection between my door locks not working after my last oil change. Long story short it was just a coincidence but he took the time to figure out that it was just a dead battery in my key fob and researched which battery I needed to get. Great for oil changes. They do not push "add ons" -- yes, they will offer them, but I've never felt pressured whatsoever once I tell them what I want to do. Whether it's 5pm on a weekday or 2pm on a Saturday, these guys have my car in and out in no time (10 minutes or less!). Russ in particular is awesome.. he's friendly and chatty as you're paying. I go to this jiffy lube regularly (4 times per year) and today I received my email with coupon as a reminder to get my oil changed. Excellent customer service tonight as usual. Great with COVID precautions. Very friendly greeting upon arrival by Ulysses. I was talking to my sister on the phone as I drove up, and even she commented, "Wow! That person that greeted you sounded so friendly." The attendant Abby was very helpful with checking out my car. Ulysses even showed me that it was probably a good idea to change my cabin air filter. I was told that Benjamin was the person below that was performing the oil change. Nice touch! And, they made sure I knew about the additional free services that accompany the oil change, such as getting oil level checked every roughly 700 miles free of charge. I trust most of my fellow Yelpers, my experience tells me that most people who write reviews simply want others to know about a good experience and sometimes a bad one. Having said that I always wonder what is going on when I see such a weird mix of one star and five star reviews for the same place. My experience, well, it was good. They got me in and out quickly, they did a good job, the customer service was above average, and the price was what it should have been. Did they pour me a glass of champagne and detail my car? No, this is Jiffy Lube, that is not what they do here. If you own a $80,000 car (that's called a used beater in West Seattle) and you complain that they did not have a staff member with a four year degree on how to service a pretentious automobile than I have a question for you, you do realize that you went to Jiffy Lube right????? I'm not knocking Jiffy Lube, I frequent Jiffy Lubes in three different states in my work trucks and personal vehicles and for the most part they do a very good job, I have never had a problem and look forward to going back to this location. The point that I am trying to make is this, don't go to Walmart and complain that you can't find an Armani suit. I had a particularly weird experience there when a woman REPEATEDLY took her mask off to talk to me, while leaning INTO my car. This was not the younger employee- they wore their mask properly. It was so uncomfortable because I was stuck inside my car the whole time, and she was leaning INTO my vehicle and lowering her mask to talk to me and it's like a literal trap of her breath in my face (I kept my mask on the whole time). She pushed me really hard to put in a good review on google. My roomie went there weeks later, and had the SAME experience of the woman taking off her mask to lean into the car to talk and was also pushed VERY uncomfortably to write a google review. That lady NEEDS to be spoken with about this issue. It's unsafe. read more

I asked for an oil change and to check my tire pressure as a tire indicator light was lit. When the service as finished, I asked about which tire was low. Not low, they said, but over-inflated. Okay, I didn't know the tire indicator light comes on when it is over-inflated (turns out, according to the auto manual, it doesn't. Only registers low pressure). Half a block away I noticed that the tire indicator light was still on so I called back right away. We can't reset the light, the manager says. Why not, I ask? We are not allowed, he says. Hmm, first time I've heard that. Then he tells me that they didn't even adjust the tire pressure. Why not, I ask again. He says, because if you drove away and had a blowout, we'd be "reliable". A blow out for reducing the pressure?? Yeah....okay. Since they were the ones who'd over-inflated the tires in the first place, I'll just say that I'm a tad under-whelmed. Speaking of reliable, I'm going back to Firestone in Burien even though I don't live there anymore. read more

Hmmm. They were just fine. I let them upgrade me, likely for no good reason but I was in a hurry and didn't want to discuss the details so I just told them to go ahead. I did pass on the other suggestions and then at the end when going over the things they looked at and were 'fine' was one of those suggestions... hmmmm.... Still, in a pinch, it's quick as promised-I waited no more than 15 minutes- they were professional, polite and clean. Sure, I prefer my local guy but a half day compared to this? I've used this place off and on whenever I'm living in West Seattle and they've been spot on every time. I went there yesterday for an oil change; they practically jump to get to it. In and out in less than ten minutes, and they changed the oil, replaced a burned out bulb, vacuumed it, let me know that the air filter is one of those washable re-usable kind (I've never cracked the hood) and the girl that took my payment stood there and debated me on the veracity of manual switched locking hubs vs the new touch-button systems. Took my car in to get the oil changed. Only two cars in the stalls at the time. I was approached by an employee that asked me if I could come back tomorrow. Huh? This is Jiffylube isn't it? I said "No,it was my only day off". He looked slightly disgruntled and said he would see if he could fit me in. Literally as he was saying this the car in front of me was leaving the bay in front of me?!? So I pull in and the mechanic doing the change appears. They appear absolutely burnt out and barely responsive. I go into the waiting room and within less than 5 minutes my car is ready, which seems odd for even Jiffylube, especially for one that was so busy they were asking me to come back a day later with no more than two other customers on the lot. Less than two days later I'm driving down the road an some smoke starts to come out from my engine compartment. I stop and open the hood, I look for the source as it doesn't seem like oil burn off, so I decide to check the dipstick. THE ENGINE IS ALMOST BONE DRY!!! very little oil on the dipstick (I checked it twice to be sure). So, at best this was negligence from and overworked stressed out employee or at worst it was deliberately malicious because of an overworked stress out employee angry about the situation. I put the half quart of oil I had in the trunk and made it home. Had I been further away my engine might have been destroyed. I don't know what's going on there, but they need to get it together. I will never go to this location again, let alone go to Jiffylube. I'll pay more and go to a mechanic certified for my car. Truly unacceptable. read more

Took my girlfriend's older BMW there when I discovered a moderate to severe leak, caused by a ham-fisted mechanic who did her last oil change at another shop. That mechanic had stripped her drain plug. (don't even) This J/L was the closest to me, and I hoped for the best. I've been around cars and done a lot of work on them for years. The staff at this Jiffy Lube not only fixed the problem using an ingenious technique that kept all the oil in the engine while they changed the plug, but --- get this --- did not charge me. Wow. I sent them a pizza, and they will get her oil change business from now on. (I do my own) Best single experience in an automotive business I've ever had. read more

WARNING! On September 10th, I went to get an oil change in my work van at this Jiffy Lube. As I was waiting, they told me they tried to move my van and that it wouldn't start. I was furious, but not knowing what was wrong I had it towed directly from Jiffy Lube to Tom's automotive. They informed me that Jiffy Lube had drained my oil and neglected to put in new oil. So they destroyed the engine. I am upset about this , but if the JL guys made a bad mistake at least they were nice. What JL corporate and the management of this store has done is unforgivable and for the following they should be boycotted and put out of business. It took them three days even to confirm that it was their fault. And then it took them until yesterday, a month, to even begin working on the repairs. In the meanwhile, I have been running my business, my family's livelihood, and that of my two employees, out of a pickup and a rental that doesn't have a ladder rack (our business requires a ladder rack and none of the rental places have them). To top it off my daughter is due to have a kidney transplant at the end of October for which I am the donor. I told all of this to the manager way back on September 11th. He said he felt really bad and that he would try to get things done quickly. If five weeks is quick, I'd hate to see how long these things take for everyone else. So, while I wish the good employees of this company the best, I hope it goes out of business so no one else has to go through what we've gone through. read more

It was that time again, time for an oil change. I've been going to this Jiffy Lube for the past seven years. Service is always friendly, they always explain every item on my invoice to me, they don't fix/change anything with out my permission and they give me free top offs when needed. I use to go here because they had a hot boy who looked like Junior Seau, formerly of the Chargers, working there. But he left long ago and the service people have changed numerous times since his departure but the service is always professional, friendly and fast, a little dirty but what do you expect when getting an oil change. This last time I went they had females working doing the oil changes which I thought was cool. read more

You have to take your car here. I cannot rate other Jiffy Lubes, but I have gone to this West Seattle shop for over two years and they are consistently excellent. This last year, I bought a very rare classic Mercedes Benz in perfect condition. I went over and talked to GG and the team at West Seattle Jiffy Lube. They not only do a better job of changing the oil in this beast of a car - for less than the Mercedes garages - but they clean the car inside and out, and remember to look for signs of seals failure, a common issue for these high compression engines. I've gotten to know the team on a first name basis, Gian, Mao, Allen and James. Each time I feel like I'm coming back to old and trusted friends. You can't get any better than this. Take the time to get to know them and they will give you the same service. They're good guys all around. read more

Took our car to Jiffy Lube for the first time, Was stunned when they came back with a $73 bill for a BASIC oil change. Not only that, they also told us we had a nail in our tire. Then said "We can't fix it because it will pop the tire. We recommend that you buy two new front tires so you have even tread wear.' After the oil change we took the tire down the street to the West Seattle Les Schwab and they took the nail out and fixed the tire for FREE. read more
