Before I talk about the oil change, I have to say that the guys at this Jiffy Lube are very friendly and the bathroom was insanely clean (that never happens at the mechanics, seriously). From drive-up to drive-away, my experience there took an hour. Two cars were already being completed and I was assured that it would only take a half hour. I think another customer sneaked in front of me on the waiting list, because the guy behind me was definitely in and out during the time I was there (maybe he had an appointment). So, the three things that I was looking forward to about Jiffy Lube were: People always talk about how they vacuum/wipe down the interior a little, they reset your "Maintenance Required" notification for you, and the price is supposed to be decent. The first two things did not happen (the mechanics tried and were unable to reset my maintenance pop-up, so they told me to watch a YouTube video about it). Then the total for the service came to $101 (before the $15 off coupon), whereas my dealership was going to charge $55. I'm kicking myself for not going there instead. That is why JL gets the "Meh. Abey and Andrew delivered EXCEPTIONAL service. Right when I pulled in, Abey greeted me so kindly and was able to help right away. Her and Andrew where such a great team! My skid plate fell off and Abey talked me through different options and how they would take a look at it as well as wha oil made the most sense for my car while not breaking the bank. She was so kind and personable and kept updating me while my car was being worked on. Not only was she helpful to me, but I even noticed how she interacted with other customers with the same sense of leadership and enthusiasm towards the job. I showed up with not another car in sight. Place was dead. It was about 11:15. Took over 40 minutes to change my oil. I've changed my oil many times. I have no idea what they were doing. Then they made up a story about the Mercedes lady being ahead. Lame. Dude was argumetative. I didn't respond. I let me him do his thing. I checked the "On time" box as well because while it was a drive by (I had called earlier to check they had availability and a spare battery) they were quick and efficient in getting me processed. My car battery died and I went here to get it replaced, after I jump started it. Federico checked and explained to me why I didn't need to replace it - he could as easily have done what I asked, for more revenue. They checked my oil and tires as well, and did not charge me a cent. As I was driving out, Federico noticed my brake light was out so he quickly replaced that for me. All the crew I met were friendly and professional. Since I have been quite disenchanted with the Toyota dealership,. I think I will be coming here for regular maintenance and fixes. I've been taking my Lexus to the dealership since purchase in 2006. Due to an illness, I wasn't able to manage. As my service light had been on for a few weeks, thought it best to have the oil changed at the very least. So, off to Jiffy Lube I went. I was impressed with the friendly service from the start. What I hadn't expected is the accommodating staff cleaning my windows and vacuuming my car! The information with choices was appreciated and respected. I've read a few of the negative reviews which do not match my experience at all. I would highly recommend their service and offerings. A very slow Saturday afternoon, pulled in at 1:20 with 2 open bays , car didn't get started for another 20mins after. Was then greeted by a very aggressive ( person in charge ? ) mind you, I was there for an oil change and oil change only. He proceeds to tell me I need to have all these other services ( due to the mileage on my vehicle) it wasn't tell I had to be more stern and elevate my voice to get him to understand that I was only there for an oil change. I have been to this Jiffy Lube twice now in the past 6 months and on both occasions, they were busy, but still acknowledged me right away and managed to get me out of there in 30 minutes or less. Every employee I have encountered has been both friendly and professional. They did not try to up-sell me for any other service and I appreciate that. I cannot attest to anything beyond an oil change, as that is all I have had done, but I'd recommend going here. read more

I had a visit this past weekend but allowed myself to cool down before writing this review. I read online that Jiffy Lube will do readings for a "Check Engine" light and provide guidance on whether something needs a repair, even if they don't have the capabilities to do it at their location. I had a light come on and was also overdue for an oil change so I chose Jiffy Lube over the other options along 15th where I probably would have received better service. As I pulled in, the employee asked me what I was in for. I told him an oil change and that I had a Check Engine light I wanted looked at. He nodded and took me to the waiting room. Another employee came back to check me in, saying my car would need synthetic oil because it has a turbo engine. I said, no, my car is not a turbo, please just do conventional oil. He had to go out and check again and what do you know, my car doesn't have a turbo engine! Saved myself about $20 or so there for insisting I know my own vehicle. Then I asked about the Check Engine light and he says they don't have a reader. That would have been a nice thing to know as I pulled in! When I told the guy I mentioned this up front and that I was upset I wasn't told right then that they couldn't help me with that situation, he kind of just shrugged like it wasn't his problem. No more oil changes at this location for me. BTW, O'Reilly Auto Parts down the street does readings for free and the employee there was very helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube And they forgot to tighten the oil drain plug. An unforgivable error no backyard mechanic would ever make. This resulted in the plug falling out and massive leaks with a huge mess. Luckily I caught it in time and there's no apparent damage. At least that I can tell. They refunded my money and suggested this was an opportunity to upgrade my car. Never going back. Beware. read more

What a joke. A garage called Jiffy Lube and a simple oil change and liquid check takes TWO HOURS. Open bays and our car sitting and waiting for someone to come take care of it for an hour and a half before FINALLY getting in. The customer service was decent - friendly faces, and no sleazy advantages taken in up-selling. Just not enough to salvage that absurd wait time for a simple oil change. I've never experienced a longer wait time at a garage (counting an overhaul on my brakes). If you've got the time, go ahead and take the chance - but I certainly won't again. read more

I created a yelp account just so I could tell you to STAY AWAY from this Jiffy Lube. The service is always great, they are very helpful and friendly. My problems occur after I get my oil changed. The last three times I have gotten my oil changed I drive back to my apartment in Queen Anne and the next time I get in my car I have a flat tire!!! Now I admit, I do not know much about cars but that seems like a highly unusual coincidence. Everytime there has never been a puncture in my tire, just the air has leaked out. The time before all my flat tire occurances I left Jiffy Lube and my car wasn't running correctly, I could barely drive. I pulled around the block and came back and told them that when I pressed on the gas it wouldn't go and I couldn't turn. I had a fuel injection cleaning at this time. They looked over my car and said everything was fine and sometimes your car runs a little different after the fuel injection cleaning. So, as I stated, knowing very very little about cars I trusted them and started driving home. Amazingly I made it across the Ballard bridge going 10 mph having many angry cars pass me honking. Then my engine started smoking!!! I pulled over at the Dravus exit and called them and told them my car was smoking and I could barely drive it. Someone came down and they realized that they hadn't hooked something on properly. After that my engine was so loud and I knew something was wrong, I took it in and had to have my catalytic converter replaced. I don't know if that was related - but it definitely was not good to drive my car without it being hooked up properly. I will never never never go back and everyone should stay away. I think they are friendly, but do not pay attention to details and are sloppy. read more

Always super clear about how the car looks, what they'd recommend, and never push unnecessary up sells. I just had my oil changed at the Lube today. Positive: friendly staff. FAST service. No appointment needed. Seems like all the necessary stuff was done appropriately. Negative: mildly obtrusive sales pitch about needing extra stuff done. Big Negative: the cost was almost 50% more than I've paid in the past at Doctor Don's - for the same service. I guess that's the price for getting in and out the door in 20 minutes... Back to the Doctor for me! read more

These guys were really pushy and don't know how to operate there own cash registers. I cashed out and about an hour after I left, jiffy lube calls me back and tells me they cashed me out for the wrong person and tells me I need to come back and pay more $$$ for the service I just received. They over filled my oil and harassed me for the next two days to come back. If you cashed me out for the wrong person eat your cost and do it right the next time. I shouldn't have to waste my time and gas because they rang me up at the wrong price. Not good customer service and I will never go back! read more

I have to agree that this Jiffy Lube runs like a well-oiled machine, no pun intended, although my $19.99 oil change (with coupon) ran over $100 once I had everything done that I needed. But I'm pretty sure it needed everything they said it did b/c the car had been driven cross-country at 80 MPH by my brother and then we waited another 3000 miles to get the oil, filters, etc changed. I went down the street to O'reilly auto parts and bought 2 bulbs and the guy at the counter offered to come out and install them for me. We have been taking our Subaru to Jiffy Lube for a number of years now and have never had a problem. We have always had fast, friendly, and honest service. We usually visit the Greenwood (104th) store and took it to the Ballard store today. As usual everything was great, until I went outside to pick up my car. An employee was still vacuuming the inside so I waited outside the car for him to finish. I felt really bad for him since we have two really hairy dogs and our car is pretty much a transporter for their hair. While watching the employee finish I noticed that he was going through the center console and pocketing the change. Thinking he was just trying to vacuum the center out thoroughly I waited for him to put the change back. He proceeded to vacuum the drivers side floor and finish. When he was finished he turned around (he didn't know I was watching him) and started to go back to the building. "Are you going to put that change back into the console where it belongs," I asked him. "Oh yeah, I was going to put it back," he sheepishly said. Sure he was, only because I caught him stealing. I immediately asked for his supervisor and told him the situation. He apologized and said he would remedy the situation as soon as possible. I left feeling violated by a company who had always come through in the past. An hour later, the supervisor called to again apologize and to inform us that the employee had been relieved of his duties. I am very impressed by the way the situation was handled, especially in the follow up by the supervisor. He said that making sure the customer was taken care of is his main priority. I will continue going to the Ballard Jiffy Lube knowing that the management actually cares about their customers. read more

This Jiffy Lubes neglectfulness ended up costing me an additional $130 after I took my car in for an oil change and pre-trip car check up. I recently moved to Austin, TX and drove my car there from Seattle on a weeklong road trip. Packing up all my belonging and driving across the country alone was going to be stressful enough so I wanted to make sure that my car was in tip top shape and wouldn't be adding any additional problems. When I called to schedule the oil change I made sure to explain my situation and ask if they would be able to do a full car inspection to make sure I was good to go. They said that was not a problem and so I promptly brought my car over. When I got there, I again explained my situation to the young girl who greeted me and with checklist in hand, asked if they would do a full car inspection-fluids, belts, tire pressure, lights, and was again told that wouldn't a problem. It's also worth noting that the girl wasn't particularly friendly and made me feel more like a nuisance than a paying customer-for which I was fine with overlooking as long as my car was well taken care of! I got my car back and was told that everything looked great and I'm good to go. So I leave assured and am off on my merry way to Austin, TX. Well about half way through my trip, I get a flat tire. Just what I was trying to avoid, however I didn't automatically assume it was Jiffy Lubes fault. I managed to get the spare on and make my way into town for the night. When I took the tire to a shop the next day they informed me that I'd been driving on an under inflated tire and after all those miles it finally popped. Awesome. Still, I was willing to look the other way and not make a fuss. Maybe I had a slow leak or something that they wouldn't have caught. However, when I made it to Austin and took my car in again for another oil change, I wasn't informed that my air filter was dirty and needed to be replaced, I was actually informed that I HAD NO AIR FILTER. It just simply wasn't there! Are you kidding me? I actually found the invoice for the service I received at this Jiffy Lube and see that I did in fact have a filter when THEY checked it and it was in good condition. There's no making excuses for that, they just cost me $30 for an air filter after not putting my own back on! Do yourself a favor and take your car somewhere else. read more

Wow. Only reason for 2 stars was they were fast. Because there was no one else there. They tried to get me to add on every other type of service possible, maybe because they were bored? I love how they showed me my air filter saying it looked bad- well I just had it replaced at the northgate jiffy lube 4000 miles ago. They asked how my windshield wipers were working for me- I just bought those last week, so pretty good, thanks. I couldn't get in with my regular garage and needed an oil change before a long road trip - so I guess you get what you pay for! read more

I've been needing an oil change for about a month now...I pass this Jiffy Lube every day to and from work but I simply didn't want to go...I typically avoid chains of any sort...so my gut reaction is just to find a local mechanic to give my business to. I caved in today...I drove past it and there were no cars so I new I wouldn't have to wait forever in the heat. To my surprise there was no hard selling...got my oil changed and the filter changed (but I really needed the filter changed), they were friendly, fast and I was pleasantly surprised. read more
