I've used this location on 15th Ave NW in Ballard a number of times over the past few years and have never had any issues. They are reasonably quick, polite, and not pushy when you decline any additional services they offer (as required by their Mgmt.). The car runs fine after their service, and it's nice to have it vacuumed out as part of the deal. (There's a one star review below from someone named Lola. I've been getting my oil changed here. This time I needed two air filters for my RAV 4. $25 for one and $45 for the other. They were filthy so I agreed not knowing the huge mark up on the parts. I checked on line. These filters retail for $10 & $15 respectively. Jiffy gouged me for almost $50. Can't trust their pricing on an oil change now. I'm done with Jiffy Lube. read more

Yes, I know they have our information in the computer but it is the trust factor I liked. for years i owned a jeep that i could shimmy underneath, making oil change lube joints unnecessary. changing your own oil and filters is easy peasy. it ain't brain salad surgery. but then i bought this funny little nissan whatever. it's like a little rental car. and i can't get under it, i'm too damn big. so i started taking it to these guys, and you know what? they are quick, painless, and cheap, for what they do. yeah, it's much cheaper to change your own oil and filters, but these guys will vacuum your car and give the windows a quick polish, nothin' too fancy, but.. you know. top off the windshield fluid. they call me "sir", which i find hilarious. i'm the least likely of most to be deserving of "sir". anyway, there's always an online coupon, and these guys... they ain't pushy, they alright by me. in fact, they deserve a raise. take that into consideration, mr. local jiffy lube regional manager. read more

Of course they tried to up sell me to half-synthetic, but they're just doing their job. They were super fast, almost annoying friendly and kind. When I spilled water on the floor and asked them for a paper towel to wipe it up, they did not hand me a paper towel, but rather wiped it up for me, thanking me 10 times for not just leaving the water on the floor and walking away. I would never think twice to review a Jiffy Lube, but the attitude and service of the employees at this location today, were far superior to that of any other Jiffy Lube I've been to. read more

The manager Steven is very on top of all of the inner workings of his shop. The restrooms where the cleanest i have ever seen. Usually i avoid those at all costs. He even asked me after if it was up to my standards of clean. I saw him swap out the coffee (which you always think is sitting there all day) and he was always updating me on the status of my vehicle. These guys did a great job. I had an oil change on my Mazda Protege today and their customer service was A+. They didn't try to badger me about additional services, they were just up-front and straightforward about everything. They even managed to get all of the dog hair out if the back seat! And they did everything with a friendly tone. I have never had a good enough experience at a lube shop to write a review, but I'd recommend these guys every time. read more

I don't really write reviews, but I had a somewhat frustrating experience with Jiffy Lube tonight. stopped by this location tonight to get the oil changed. I saw that there were only two cars ahead of me, so I was hoping it would be a quick turnaround time. A Jiffy Lube guy walked out and told me that they are not taking any more customers tonight, as they have two cars to finish. It was 6:20; they close at 7. I asked him, "Don't you close at 7?" He replied that they did, but the two remaining cars would take the remainder of their time to finish. I told him that was disappointing and left. Before I was even out of the parking lot, one of the two cars had already left. I don't know how long it takes them to change oil, but it seems like two cars in 40 minutes should be reasonable. If they are going to stop taking customers 40 minutes before closing, maybe they should change their hours to reflect that - most service type businesses stop taking new customers at about their closing time, not 40 minutes before. If you need to go here to get your oil changed, best get here a couple of hours before their stated closing time - better yet, go somewhere else. read more

"So how much for just a normal oil change for my SUV?" "$41.99" That was the beginning of my experience today. I'd been to a Jiffy Lube a few years ago, and to my recollection it was a good experience. So my assumption was that this place would merit a similar experience. I received a call about my air filter and that it was "scary". No reason to question that. It had been 4 months. He even offered $10 off the 27.99 price. Cool. Then I got back and saw the bill for $84.37 "For an oil change and filter!?", I thought to myself. The man showed me the bill. $5 upcharge for an SUV. $12 for extra oil. $5 for topping off the antifreeze. Not a fan of hidden charges and getting nickeled and dimed. Going elsewhere. read more

Service was fast, like in and out around 20 minutes fast. Everyone was over the top nice, especially the woman that waved me in and rang me up. The real cherry on top was them offering to put my license plates (that I had lazily not changed out for months and had been sitting on the passenger floor of my car) on for free! I have been going to my dealership for oil changes because I use their coupon. But after a while, I became disenchanted with my dealership, feeling like they were treating me like I didn't know anything. I just sat and waited for over a hour and they'd just hand me my keys and didn't know anything about my car. I just went to Ballard Jiffy Lube and received GREAT service. I was greeted upon driving up to the station, and showed the restroom and waiting area where there was free coffee if I wanted some. I sat and waited all of 10 minutes when someone came to ask me to go out and review the diagnostics they had performed on my car and to ask what quality of oil I wanted. Since the oil options are clearly displayed in the waiting area, I knew what I wanted. They also informed me of the type of oil that was used from my dealership, which was what I wanted, but the same options were clearly displayed on the computer screen you look at with the attendant. Yes, I was asked if I wanted something to make my car cleaner with special chemical stuff. Yes, I was asked if I wanted to change my air filter (and they showed me my actual dusty air filter, which I thought was cool). Yes, I would consider all of that up-selling, but I am being posed choices, and I am sound enough to say "no" if I want to. I did not feel guilt-tripped. I had asked about new wiper blades, and they showed me two options and the attendant very graciously knocked off $15 from them, too. And they weren't entirely cheap. After reviewing all of what was good and may need work with my car, I was shown the total price I'd pay, and told that the $15 would get knocked off at the register. I went back to sit down and was called to no more than 8 minutes later and the cash register attendant reviewed the SAME diagnostics with me again to make sure it was the same as what I had gone through before. He applied the $15 off and I watched the total bill drop. The computer screen is turned toward the customer. This service was surprisingly great. I did not find their sales-pitch obtrusive. Sure they want to sell you more things. They are a business, but I didn't think it was done in a forced matter, nor did I feel that I was not in control while things were being explained to me. I never felt like was being treated like a child. They adjusted my tire pressure, vacuumed my floors, and washed my windows, and I was in-and-out in less than 30 minutes. I hope they keep up this high level of customer service, because I'd totally go back. read more

Orlondo, the assistant manager, was great to work with. His team identified that my water pump was having an issue. I took car to a mechanic who said that my water pump was on its last legs. Thank you Jiffy Lube, you saved me thousands if my water pump would have failed. read more

Nice place. The service is fast; never had any problems. And while they ask you if you'd like extra services, there's never been any sort of up-selling. In fact, quite the opposite: On my most recent visit the guy told me something could be changed, but he recommended that I not worry about it for a while unless I was having problems. read more

They did a good job on my oil change. Car ran smoother after I left. But they don't do brakes, and some jiffy lubes do so that was disappointing. They didn't push me to get any additional services, even though I know I need some other work done. Overall I had a pleasant experience, except the inconvenience of having to go have my brakes looked at elsewhere. read more

I have been a loyal customer of this location for about 4 years, and I have always been satisfied with the service. However, I went in 2 weeks ago, and I there was a $1,500 point-and-shoot Fujifilm camera in my glove box. I did not discover it missing for a few days, and when I did, I called the location (after tearing my house and car apart for an entire afternoon). My concern was not treated seriously at all; I was told there was no reason anyone would have touched it, and that there is no security footage of the workspace. Shame on me for leaving something valuable in my car when it was being serviced, but I am extremely disappointed that someone who works here stole my camera while I was sitting right there in the lobby. It's unfortunate, because I had previously had good experiences with both the staff and service at this location. read more

About three weeks ago I went here to see if there was an issue with the oil in my car. The assistant manger there was extremely rude. I was directed by another member to the check in room and was told someone would check me in. After a while no one checked me in so I asked if there was anyone to check me in and the assistant manger very rudely said "FIRST OF ALL There is a whole room of people waiting to get checked in." Umm, okay how was I suppose to know the process there was no sign and no one to check people in. All the other places I've been to you get checked in first to discuss your problem then they look at your car. Here I guess they look at your car first and then check you in? I decided to take my business elsewhere and as I was walking out there was a very nice and professional mechanic there who talked to me about my car. However, they were so fast, that after talking to Orlando at the counter about the oil and coolant, that it was only a few minutes away from being done. I was there for maybe 6-8 minutes at most. Don't go here. Trust me, it isn't worth it. I've been here probably a dozen times. If you need an oil change and you're lazy, this place is definitely cheaper and faster than doing it yourself. However, they are extremely careless and, in my case, dangerous. Incident 1: About 5 years ago, I let them change my fuel filter and flush my fuel system. When removing the old fuel filter they left the old O-ring on and hooked up the new fuel filter with two o-rings (the old and the new) now in place. Of course the new filter didn't go on right but the technician forced it on anyways. Within the next 24 hours my fuel filter came loose and, when I drove the next day, I dumped about 15 gallons of gas onto I-5. I managed to latch it back on and limped back to Jiffy Lube. They identified the problem (the two o-rings) and fixed it. But I was expecting more of an apology, or coupon, or some acknowledgment of the extremely dangerous situation they created. Didn't get any of that. Incident 2: For some reason, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and still returned on occasion, when I got lazy. Then, about 4 months ago I went in for an oil change. They suggested a coolant flush though I only agreed to a top off. As I drove off, I noticed my heater was only blasting cold air and about 10 minutes later my car overheated. It was about 50 degrees outside. I took it back in and they acknowledged that my radiator was completely empty and filled it for free. The technician offered no explanation of how my radiator, which was only slightly low when I brought it in, became empty during my oil change. I'm not going back. Just don't go here. You will regret it. read more

I have taken our car here for sometime. It's the normal hard sell where they try and scare you that the air filter needs changing right away. I can understand this, the up-sell is their business model. But on our recently visit they overfilled the oil by at least a quart. When I brought it back to get it removed they made a bunch of excuses eventually fixing their error. They have one job and that is to change the oil in my car and they can't do that right. Jiffy Lube needs to train their techs better. Overfilling the oil is very hard on an engine, I can only imagine how many times it's happened before without me knowing. read more

I was very disappointed in the service I received this morning. I got there at 9:00 am and there wasn't a wait which was perfect because I had to be at work by 10:00am as I had some new interns I had to train. The first person I met, who I believe was the manager, was great and I thought I was going to have a great experience. I told him all I wanted was the simple and basic oil change. That's it. At one point one of the mechanics asked me a question about a product, which I thought was just an oil choice. He was telling me how long it's been since I should have had an oil change and how bad that was and recommended that I get this one thing, so I said ok thinking I was just getting a better oil. After an hour of them working on my car they told me it was finally ready and at this point I was late for work. When it was time to pay for my bill it was $140. I was shocked and very upset. I am a woman and don't know a lot about cars and feel like I was really taken advantage of. At no point was I told that this extra service going to cost me an extra $120! Money is very tight for me right now and I don't have that extra cash laying around. I took my car to your service because I thought it would be quick and cheaper than taking it to a dealership, but now I know not to take it to you again because I don't want to feel stupid and taken advantage of. read more

Total rip-off. They said my air filter needed to be changed. It looked fine to me, so I told them I would pass. I didn't pay close attention when I checked out, turns out they changed the filter anyway. They shouldn't have asked in the first place (it wasn't dirty because I drive so little and only in city traffic) and they should have respected my decision when I said no. read more
