No. I called and asked if they provided A/c service about 11 a.m. they said yes. Can I bring it today? Yes. Brought it in and was real skeptical because he just sounded way too sure what it was after I explained my issue and figured it had to be something more complicated. He even gave me a time it would probably be done. My head said, "he hasn't even looked at it yet" sure enough 4:00 came a call came and said it's ready. Walked a few blocks to pick it up. No bad news. Did exactly what he said and it works. This is the 3rd place after 5 yrs. I don't have a lot of time as we work a lot to take the time for car service. This place came through. When I arrived, Greg was there and helped me, very friendly and took me right away. No wait. I started working on my computer and before I really got much done, he came back and my car was ready passed and cert. transmitted to the DMV, all less than 10 minutes. Recently he noticed the battery light stayed on and several electrical things weren't working correctly. Thankfully he drove the truck straight back to his apartment. Since I don't know any repair shops in the area and didn't want to deal with towing the truck somewhere, I searched for a mobile mechanic and found On The Go Mechanic. I reached out around 7 PM on a Friday, and he responded by 9 PM that same night. By 10 AM Saturday morning, he was already at my son's apartment. The diagnostic was $75, and he quickly confirmed the problem was the alternator. He explained that it might take until Tuesday or Wednesday to locate the correct OEM alternator and mentioned he prefers OEM because many aftermarket ones don't last as long. I appreciated the honesty. He didn't require a deposit and said he'd call when he located the part. To my surprise, first thing Monday morning he called to say he had tracked one down, but there were two possible versions and he needed to remove the old one to confirm which was correct. He came out, removed the alternator, sourced the right replacement, and returned shortly after. After a deposit for the part, he finished the job in about two hours, including reinstalling everything. He even sent me a video of the truck running with the correct voltage reading, which was great since I wasn't there in person. Because I was coordinating everything remotely from Ventura, this could have been stressful -- but he made the whole process very easy, transparent, and professional. So I checked Yelp to read a bunch of reviews for a mobile mechanic... and "Mobile Mechanic Repair" stood out. I was apprehensive, but one review said "Right off the bat I'll tell you 'Hire him!'" convinced me to go ahead and call. Robert was very nice over the phone and agreed to meet me at the motorhome... I had the smog pump part and Robert got right to work. He explained to me that the newer part was metric and that he would have to head to the hardware store to get screws to fit the part. Upon installation there were some other altercations that needed to be done (drilling out larger holes on a gasket piece/or diverter piece.. I think?) At the end of a verrrry hot 98* day, he asked if I trusted him to take the part home and drill a larger hole to make the piece work. I said I did trust him and I headed home. He texted me while I was driving home letting me know he successfully drilled the hole to work!! We agreed to start again the next morning, and although I wasn't available the next morning, he went on his own and completed the job. He sent me pictures of the installed part 100% complete!! And I gladly paid him. Even though the job was done he asked me to let him know the motorhome started with no noise making (from the smog pump) and to let him know if the motorhome passed it's smog test later that day... and it did! Robert is very communicative about the job, he stays in touch with texts, he is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and I feel he went above and beyond! I'll definitely will hire him again.
