I don't know if they are under new management of if there's just been a good turnover, but I used to go here and it was just an alright experience. Now, it's great and I was really pleased. (I went on a Thursday early afternoon to get an oil change.) The attendants were really lovely, held open all of the doors, and were clear about my car and didn't try to push me to get any other services. They were polite and super quick - under 15 minutes. 1/26/2020 Service tech. offered me an $89.99 synthetic oil change on my new 2020 Honda Pilot on an early Sunday morning. Service tech checking me in stated that the type of oil (based on weight) that I needed only came in synthetic? OK, first time I heard that one and I was going to request synthetic anyway since that is all I run my vehicles on anyway, so I agreed. Went to the checkout and looked at the itemized bill and there is an additional charge for a Mobil One oil filter for $13.99 on the bill plus some other BS charges. I told the tech that we agreed to $89.99 plus tax. The total of the bill was $114 and change. Noticed the bill and the questioned the service tech on the Mobil One oil filter and he stated that is what had to be installed. W Never knew Mobil One oil wouldn't work unless you installed a Mobil One oil filter. Who knew? After telling him that this was the first time I heard of this and that I would definitely check with Honda, the Mobil One oil filter was deleted off of my bill. Very suspect and I have taken multiple vehicles to this facility over the years. I think I will find another oil change place when I get my next oil change. I haven't even checked if the oil filter installed is in fact a Mobil One filter, but the next time I have an oil change I will verify. Very shady place. read more

Great experience & excellent customer service! Was greeted by Jose who welcomed me with fresh coffee while graciously asking me to relax in the waiting room while they changed the oil, replaced air filters, inflated my tires, topped off all the fluids and even vacuumed my car (which made my day!) I went in at 1pm - there was no line. Completely satisfied. Didn't have a coupon this visit but because customer service was superior, I gladly paid the bill. Were warm & welcoming - made a big difference. Great job guys! read more

I had an oil change here recently and after spending a premium price, this is what happens to me... My car stalls in the middle of busy traffic with groceries in the car and forces me to call for a tow truck. These funny looking people at this place removed the air intake hose and never bothered to connect it again. I didnt know I have to look under the hood and carefully review their work to check my engine after they do a minor thing like an oil change. My car still doesnt seem right since they incident. Worst part is they admitted to doing wrong here and then they quickly changed their mind and said they werent at fault. Dont risk your car like this. read more

The only reason this review is getting stars at all is because they do provide fast service. Now, for my gripe: THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. My mom needed to get an oil change & refuses to go to Walmart. Our preferred mechanic was out of town and she wasn't willing to wait so I recommended this location (we have a closer one in Ashburn) because the manager is hispanic and she doesn't really speak english. Well, whoever helped her really tried to screw her bad. She went in for their "signature oil change" which I believe is $40.99 -- that is ALL she requested. No new air filter, nothing else. So a few minutes later she calls me saying that the woman helping her is giving her two options: "I'll charge you $160 if you pay with a credit card but if you pay with cash, it'll only be $60." Uhh, what?! How does her invoice jump $100 for 1. The form of payment you want to use and 2. A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE? At that point I told my mom to wait until I got there. Upon arriving, I was already furious and called them out in front of everyone, making sure customers there could hear what they were trying to do. The technicians excuse? "I was giving her a military discount." Oh, how nice of her... except when I looked at the invoice on her computer screen I don't see any discounts applied.. I just saw the normal rate for a basic signature oil change charge. My mom ended up paying LESS than $50 & needless to say we will NOT be returning. You're better off going to the Ashburn location, they treat customers better. read more

I actually ended up here when my car broke down across the plaza in fron of an auto parts store. I was hysterically upset and called my dad(in another state). He quickly asked if there was a Jiffy Lube around, to which I replied yes. He called the store, spoke to the manager, and within 5 minutes, the manager and another worker were coming over to help me install a new battery(the first problem) and get me going. I absolutely can not stress how much I appreciate them going out of their way to come to me and help me get up and running. I do not live in the area, but should I ever need service while in the area, I will definitely go to them! read more

This location is amazing! Unlike many jiffy lube locations, the staff here doesn't force useless junk or operations. The staff greets me immediately, energetically, and professionally every time I come in. They recommend things that will help my car, but are willing take "no thanks" as an acceptable answer. I'd recommend this location to anyone looking for an easy experience. read more

Be sure to know what kind of oil your car takes. I was in a rush and relied on their expert knowledge. They told me my Prius took only synthetic which I later found out not to be true. Naturally, after their 22 point inspection they tried to sell me on other filters. They had air filter that was filthy on top of my car that they stated should be replaced. I can't even be sure was from my car. Left spending much more than I expected. read more

A young man with his first car went in for a transmission flush. All other JL locations in the area charge $179 for that. This location charges $250.00. That's a 30% markup. If you don't know what you're doing with cars make sure you check prices with other Jiffy Lube locations first or find a local mechanic you trust. They claim to use BG products and maybe they do, but you can buy those additives for $20 and add it yourself anytime. read more

I spoke with the shop manager prior to having my service performed. I stated that i had burnt power steering fluid in my system and needed it flushed completely because i replaced the power steering pump and burnt fluid would damage it. I also stated that i would be checking the color of the fluid after the flush to verify the burnt fluid was gone (burnt fluid is a murky brown color, new fluid is a clear/yellow tint color). I was assured by the shop manager that it wouldn't be a problem and the service would be done in 20 minutes. After the service was performed, i check the fluid only to find it was still murky brown in color. I told the manager that the flush was not done properly, he stated it was. I told him there is still murky brown fluid in the resevoir, he stated that he flushed it 4 times and that he couldnt get out all the burnt fluid. I stated it was not flushed properly, and that he didnt do what i asked when i pulled him. He stated that it was flushed properly. I then asked to see the color of the fluid they use to flush the system only to verify it was clear in color. I told him that the fluid in my system is not the color of what he showed me. He then stated he had the system flushed twice, which is clearly different from what he originally stated when i approached the vehicle (he said it was flushed 4 times earlier). I then paid my bill and went home. After some research, i learned that they used the wrong fluid in my system AND did not preform a full flush. I called the district manager requesting a refund and he refused, interrupted me several times and hung up on me stating "I was wasting his time". I then called back and he told me it was not his responsibility to verify what his shop manage promised me, but that there is nothing i could tell him that would change his mind, he will not give me a refund. I have since lodged a complaint with Jiffy Lube corporate and the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT GO TO THIS JIFFY LUBE OR ANY IN THE SURROUNDING AREA - they are all managed by John Snyder, the rude district manager i referenced earlier. These people ripped us off. My son went in to get his oil changed and without asking him The technician used synthetic oil to bump up the price. He asked the manager to change this as my son didn't give him authorization to use the more expensive synthetic. The manager refused to change it out. Just wait. read more

I have been getting oil changes at jiffy lube for the last 16 years. 3 years ago, i bought a honda odyssey that requires synthetic oil. All of the sudden my $40 oil change became a $90 oil change. Today, they added an extra $10 charge for an oil filter in addition to the cabin filters. Upon asking about this extra charge, the Manager Scott said that it was because they used a higher end oil filter. I was not ok with this since he did not ask me about it before hand like the cabin air filters. He had the nerve to say that usually people who come here to get their oil changed are not worried about the little charges implying that I was being cheap. I simply just don't want to be cheated or baited and switched. The last thing I need is for someone to insinuate that I'm being 'cheap' after I've paid $170 for oil service. After being informed that Jiffy lubes are all SEPARATE franchises, I will be more careful when going to different ones in the future. Apparently their prices may all be different. read more

My wife pulled in with a MB (yes, a mistake but was in a rush and couldn't get to dealership this week) that was not smoking and had no oil leaks. EVER. FROM ANY PART OF THE CAR. Left and in 2 minutes had smoke rolling out the hood and people honking and waving for her to get off road. Teenage phone answer girl says no problem just drive it back. JOSE manager said he put oil cap on himself and when they opened up hood it was on and oil all over...? Now JOSE manager says it is a known problem with Mercedes the oil cap does not fit/causes leaks and contact manufacturer...he will not claim responsibility and would not even offer a refund or free oil change (not that we would ever take it OR go back). Lotta things going through your head to say? Me too. Bottom line = WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. NEVER GO HERE. I WILL TELL 10 MORE PEOPLE PERSONALLY. A simple we messed up and didn't seat it correctly would have worked. Assuming when they didn't seat it correctly and tightened it down it didn't crack. Jose manager still maintains they did nothing wrong and stood by that as his level of customer service. DOES JIFFY LUBE HAVE ANY CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE? NO. PITIFUL read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION (Sterling, VA)! The customer service is horrible. It is easy to give high ratings when things go well. In difficult situations, however, the manner in which a business and its employees conduct themselves is the better test. If businesses are able to obtain accolades in adverse circumstances then it is truly deserved. If I could give no stars for my recent experiences then I would. Earlier this year, a technician failed to replace the oil plug after an oil change so oil leaked everywhere. I had to return to fix the problem. I did not receive an apology for the error. Yesterday, I came in for an oil change. Within a few miles of driving away, smoke was billowing from the hood. This occurred during morning rush hour near the busy Rt. 7 and Georgetown Pike intersection. Other drivers were honking and motioning for me to get off the road. When I called Jiffy Lube, the technician explained that "a part of the oil cap may be sticking out so oil probably pooled around the area. Drive it back and we'll take care of it." I returned and when the technician popped the hood, indeed there was oil everywhere. The manager, Jose, said he personally screwed the cap on and there must be something wrong with my oil cap. He recommended that I contact the manufacturer (Mercedes Benz) since in his 18 years as a technician, he has seen this happen many times with my type of car. Jose went on to say that every time he places the oil cap on a MB vehicle, he hopes that this does not occur. My vehicle is a 2009 model, which is used daily to commute over 100 miles roundtrip. Oil changes are frequent. Smoke has never poured from the hood when other establishments perform routine oil changes. As suspected, a quick search on Jose's absurd excuse yielded no results. In addition, the oil cap is not a screw-on cap but one that clicks into place with a half turn. Either it is seated properly, or not. In this case, Jose failed to replace the cap correctly, failed to take responsibility for his mistake, and tried to place blame elsewhere. He did not offer to make up for the inconvenience, or apologize for his incompetence. Jiffy Lube corporate should be embarrassed to have Jose as a manager. If the company insists that he remain on payroll, please enroll Jose in basic customer service training. Jiffy Lube has lost a customer and potentially many more. Consumers remember bad experiences, especially when they are shared. read more

I had my son run our car up to this location prior to leaving on a trip. they told him 1 price and then when they gave him the final bill, it was 2.5 times more. He tried to question it but they gave him so song and dance. On top of that they charged $5.00 for some stone removal and the fluids they said the filled at n/c were empty. Went to use the windshield washer and found it bone dry, but the receipt showed it was filled. I guess retail establishment's don't realize how much fraud they are committing when they do things like this! read more

My windshield wiper was not working at all and I stopped by jiffy lube without an appointment and in the middle of the afternoon. Eric graciously fixed my wiper for me...for free! Definitely planning to go back for all my car services after such great customer service. read more

I usually take my company car for fleet services to Jiffy Lube because of the fast service. But this location really surprised me as they provide very prompt courteous service . Both technicians and the manager are very polite and informative. Definitely will be coming back to this location. I went this morning to get a quick oil change--the staff was friendly and it was quick....BUT when I returned to my car, I noticed that the change that was left on my front seat was gone (I left it there to see what they would do and I also checked my other change compartments before I left my car). I am very disappointed to find that my paranoid suspisions were proven right!! They not only took the change off my front seat, but they took all the rest of the quarters I had in my car....Really?? Was 75 cents really worth loosing a customer over---What is wrong with people!!!! read more

I went to Jiffy Lube because my friends said "they do a good job" that is true BUT...I took my car in for a Oil change. First I saw Sean, he was ok, not the best customer service but, by far not the worst. I said I believe my car takes Synthetic oil, he argued with me and said "your car does not require it" I knew better as It is a 2011 Toyota Camry 6 cyl. So they take my car in and I hear, Michelle about 10 minutes later, shows me 2 filters I say ok, I will get the two filters. Oil change REGULAR oil and 2 filters. I never saw Michelle after that, she was pretty knowledgeable short and to the point. Since they had 3 or 4 cars in the bays, I was not sure they were talking about mine or not, I hear someone screwed up! Needless to say yes, it was my car. Did they put Synthetic oil in my car? I do not know as I was not under the car or in the bay. When Jose, said to me 161.00 I was like what? how did I go from 121 to 161 he showed me the computer screen, they charged me for synthetic oil, did not come back and ask me if it were ok, I was not notified. I think this practice is absurd! I paid the bill but, still have the QUESTION if I got synthetic oil or not! I was quite pissed and left to do my grocery shopping, I got into my car and they did not re-set the light! I went back and Jose came right to my car and I told him about the light he said he was sorry, and that he asked the techs if they re-set the light, they replied yes. Bad experience.
